Samsung Buds - Samsung Galaxy S10 Accessories

From Sammobile: "The free Galaxy Buds promotion may not be available in all the markets.
We have seen Samsung coming up with different pre-order offers in different markets in the past, so there is no guarantee that this free Galaxy Buds promotion will be available in all other regions. Nevertheless, it is safe to presume the pre-order period and the offer will be applicable to at least a few other markets around the world.
The Galaxy Buds are not yet released and are expected to be launched alongside the Galaxy S10 at the Unpacked event. Going by the previous models, they are expected to cost around $200 at launch, which translates to a sizeable discount for those pre-ordering the Galaxy S10."
...have you heard anything about getting them here in the US? I only see a $50 offer for accessories on pre-order registration page.

on the 'picking' page, they don't show the buds? That's a shame, am sorry to hear that.
But I'm curious, how much is the price for S10 in Canada?

No it doesn't, however on carrier's websites it does show free buds, strange.
S10e $1020
S10 $1260
S10+ $1420

Why are the prices so high? The s10 plus is supposed to be 1000.
BTW I have icon x 2018 and they cost 200 original. If these cost 130, then they should be considered less luxurious than the ones I have. Should I even buy the new ones?

No "buds" in Canada (crazy as that sounds), but min. $200 off with ANY phone trade in. You could by a $20 pay go phone and use that. Pretty much same as getting buds for free.

I am sorry, but I can't seem to find any info on my dumb question
Are these buds for only listening, or they are also used as a way to make phone calls. Talk too?

2 mics actually from what I saw, one internal and one out. Calls, music, all there. Sound quality...TBD

Yeah 2 mics apparently I pre-ordered but will probably end up selling the buds as I got the jabras already and I love them.
We'll see how the audio quality is I guess.

Never had anything like these, so looking forward to trying them!

i talked to costco wireless and t-booth both said with pre order you get your order code , once receive the phone submit it online and register and sammy with send out the buds. anyone else heard of this then if others saying no buds in Canada ?

How they compare to AirPods?

uh...,we'll have to wait to find out until our first hand, or rather first ear experience materializes

I'm not that excited with the free buds, other than the smaller size, I prefer my IconX. I'm happy enough with my S9 but for some odd reason I decided to jump on the trade-in which made the S10 less than $350.

Android device as a PMP?

Anyone got a suggestion on some good android phones I could look up ebay/craigslist to use as a PMP?
My budget is $100 or so, and I realize I won't get top of the line, but used is fine.
A used Optimus One on various prepaids seems to go for $40-$50, so I'm hoping for something that has a tad better spec.
Pick up a used vibrant and enjoy awesome sound quality with a voodoo sound kernel.. Can be bought for like 125 if you catch a deal.

There's a Samsung Galaxy media player...but it's a bit pricier.
Does it have to be a phone?
Why not just buy a PMP? Where's the necessity that it be Android?
If you looked hard enough, you could probably find a Philips for that price, especially if you're willing to buy used.
But my thoughts are, well, if it doesn't need phoning capabilities, you could probably get more GB for your buck.

You would think, but it's not true. Most MP3 players in the $50 dollar range suck.
Also the galaxy players are, as you saw - pricey. I'm looking for something cheap.
And I want it to be an android because I have a galaxy nexus, so I own paid apps that I could use on it as well.
I found a galaxy S for $65 on craigslist, seems like a pretty good deal as long the phone isn't in terrible condition.

Sounds like you could just use your Nex, but instead you'll then be carrying around a lot of extra functionality (carrying a Nexus around to be used as a phone/surfer and another Andy as a PMP), but I'm not one to judge. To each his own. If it were me, I'd buy another battery for the Nex and use the sh*t out of that! The PPI-count on that thing is sensational!!
An HTC HD2 may be just the device for you, but scoring one for a C-note will be a challange, I'd bet. Hack Android onto it, and BAAAAMMM!!
don't get htc, the audio sucks, even on beats models
(sucks in a comparative sense, not subjective)

Yes I realize my Nexus is more than capable
I'm looking for a cheap alternative mostly because I will be abusing it more and I want to keep my expensive phone pristine.

The sound on the HD2 sucks. Even with decent headphones. It's not bad over BT stereo, though, considering how bad BT stereo is to begin with. I'm not really an Apple fan, but the iPod Classics have a tremendous sound and enormous capacity. I use a 160GB iPod to tote around a chunk of my collection. The built in EQ is pretty handy as well. You can pick them up used for less than $100 also.
Well I picked up a bootlooping galaxy S for $40. Hopefully I can get it working
The stock recovery was corrupted so the volume keys weren't working.
Oh yeh, got me a working galaxy S! Sure beats any $40 PMP out there!

It's ready to buy!! GO GO GO!

So I guess no package deal with a gamepad? I thought there was an official announcement that there would be a $250 package.
Anyone have any recommendations for a gamepad to go along with the gear vr?

Damnit, guess I pulled the trigger too soon. Thanks though.
Now I'm dying to see if we can get it to work with CM12. I'll be using CM12 as a daily driver and IF Gear VR works on CM12 then I might buy it. But if it doesn't work, it's not worth the $200 and forced use of TouchWiz. I'd also accept MultiROM if we could get it out our devices, but that also seems unlikely.
Anyway, glad to see Gear VR finally on the market! Hope y'all enjoy it.

Just letting everyone know this is the Innovator Edition meaning you can buy it, but its really a technology release for early adapters of technology and developers. If the technology doesn't take off.... there's a chance they may just scratch this product. Just an FYI....
I didn't catch the incompatibility thing in the description. Is that in the official website?
Mine is sitting here waiting for the update... VZ told me the 18th. I have screen shots of the chat session. Hopefully that was a cautionary date and the rollout will begin today.

It's on their website now, was not yesterday. I spoke with Samsung and they said they found out from Verizon this morning and added it to the site then.
I was just about to by this today, but something told me to hold off and wait and I'm glad that I did. I just seen an article on Android Central stating that it wasn't compatible with Verizon or Sprint variants of the Note 4 at this time, and that the updates will be pushed out by the carriers.
If I would have spent $236 for this device and overnight shipping only to have a temporary plastic paper weight, I would have been extremely pissed.

Ahhh! Nice. I would definitely want to try these out first, though. Seeing is believing.
Also... A friend of mine asked me why Samsung chose to have the plastic overlay over the back of the phone. It blocks the camera. Did they not want people turning on the camera and stumbling around an augmented reality world or something?

Hello all anyone got one of these vr headsets if yes please can you tell us about your experiences with the device please. Sceenshots would be nice and where you can buy cheapest from uk apparently they are pretty good but a Bit expensive and abit limited in stock.
Have you tried Bestbuy? Buy online, pick up at your nearest store in 5 days. $199. Otherwise, have not seen in go cheaper.
I bought mine at Best Buy for $199. I have not seen them listed at a cheaper price anywhere else.
problem is not even released here in uk £189.99 uk pounds is the cheapest i could find from handtec.

I am very interested in this hardware but it's still nowhere to be seen in the EU. I have some questions about it though as I primarily want it to view movies and series with in bed at night. Is it compatible with other applications like Kodi and mxplayer or it's a closed ecosystem?

Best smartphone for up to $100 on ebay? Both new and used?

Hey I like to try different phones and always looking for the next best deal and a gadget to mess around with.
Using ebay, and if you had $100 (or less) to spend, what are some of the best phones you can get?
Here's a few smartphones I can think of that are pretty good for about $100.
HTC 10, Google Pixel 2, Blu Vivo XI+, Samsung S7, Moto G7, LG G7 ThinQ (but a nice clean one is $140, hard to find a good one for $100, might have cracks).

But, with eBay, you take a chance on what you actually get. Many people have bought phones on ebay and ended up getting screwed. Hence, my warning, forget about ebay when it comes to buying phones.

You're always taking a chance with what you get even when you go to the store to buy groceries, you won't know what's in the box until you get home and open it.
So how is this other site better? You have failed to explain the difference.

Huh, we are talking about two different things.
In this scenario, the chance I'm talking about is whether the device you get is actually the device you paid for or whether it actually works or has a valid IMEI number. Plus, phones cost considerably more than any item that you could possibly buy at a grocery store. If you buy a grocery that you aren't satisfied with, how much have you lost on that item? A few dollars? Also, I'm pretty sure that when you buy something at the grocery store, you know what you are getting because it is right there in front of you to visually and physically inspect, plus, when you open it, it contains exactly what it says it is, whether you find it satisfying or not is a different story altogether.
What you are saying is no comparison to what I'm talking about.

Free Wired Earphone request to Samsung Canada

Hello Everyone,
Hope you all are safe and doing well. I purchased note 20 ultra from freedom booth in Canada and i have it for about 2 weeks now. I was little late to contact samsung regarding wired earphones so today i finally contacted Samsung official live chat here in canada to request a free pair and the agent told me that here in canada, samsung does not have that promotion for note 20 users. I am attaching a screenshot if anyone wants to see the conversation. So my question is is there anybody here from canada who actually got the akg tuned earphones for free shipped them somehow? If yes how did you guys contacted them?
P.S - i have tried calling 1800-SAMSUNG but they had me on hold for almost half an hour so i ended the call

We in Canada are once again an afterthought for samsung....its getting tiresome thats for sure especially after dropping more than 2k on a device. We didnt even get rhe white version here in Canada either
We expect the same customer experience here as the US gets samsung....pull your head out of your ass and get with the program

I like wired earphones. I have Sony WF-1000MX3 and it runs out of juice pretty easily and having a backup wired pair is a bliss on those times and it's not just why would i hassle for 30$ earphones? It's just when you buy a 2000$ phone you expect few things and the reason why i have always preffered/liked android , especially samsung is because they have always provided basic accessories. If samsung follows apple in what should go in the box, expect just a device in the next note box.
