Hello everyone,
I just got a Gear S2 (R732) with Tizen OS version 2.3.2.1 and software version R732XXU2EPK5.
When i start an update on the Wearable app on my phone (Pocophone F1) to update R732XXU2EQJ2 is completly downloads it on the phone. When i try to install it either Bluetooth or Wifi it just doesn't do anything and seems to disapear.
I went to factory reset many times, but it just won't update my Gear S2.
Is this a known issue? i search the forum and google but i can't find a solution.
*Edit: i might know why the issue appears: If i click on "install now" in the wearable app, it gives the notification: "Gear Modified" this is probably the issue. Question remains: can i fix this or do i just accept this?
Kind regards to all,
Tim
So I get this in my wearable app

Hi all,
I wonder if someone has the same problem as me.
I just got a new gear s2 classic from Korea and it won't connect to Gear manager. it keeps of giving me a message: "check if your phone is compatible and if the gear manager app needs to be updated, then try again".
I have downloaded the latest version of the gear manager, but still same problem. I did reset both the phone and the gear to factory settings and still it won't connect.
anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?
Thanks
I have a Korean phone that works perfectly with my S6 Edge. Took a while to get it paired and I had to restart my phone. That did it.
My brand new Gear S3, received 1/25/2017, can't get weather. When I open the weather app, I see "finding your location ..." and nothing further happens. Location is enabled on my phone's settings (Galaxy Note 5) and in the Gear Manager App on my phone. My Tizen version is 2.3.2.1 , software version R770XXU1APK7. My Gear app is 2.2.16101261, Gear S Plugin is 2.2.03.16111661 It tells me "The latest version is already installed."
Any ideas, suggestions?
TIA
Update
Update. I uninstalled and re-installed the Gear App and did a soft reset of the watch. Now all is well.
Hi,
I thought I knew watches, but this one has SO MANY things... Right now the "Add current location" shows it is "Finding your location ....." when I click on it. But, all that shows is the "Finding your location...." and never finds mine. Any and all help would be appreciated. Use: [email protected] to send me mail about this. Thanks!
I have gear s3 frontier and I connect it to my galaxy s7 edge phone. It works great but for last 2 weeks when I open samsung gear app in my phone it show a dialog with this message:
Notice
A new version is available. Update the app to continue
Click to collapse
Screenshot: goo .gl/QV9LcZ
I can't ignore it and the only option I have is to press the Update button. After that it show a screen that say :
Preparing to connect ...
Click to collapse

When the progress bar complete, the app close automatically and disconnect the watch.
I checked "google play" and "Galaxy Apps" but there is no update available for "Samsung Gear" app. and currently I can't connect my watch to my phone.
The solution I tried to fix this problem:
I tried to uninstall Samsung Gear app and install it again with google play. It worked for few days but after that I have the above problem again
I use the option of "Connect to new phone" on my watch. It factory reset the watch and connected my watch to phone. But again after a few days I have the above problem.
How can I solve this problem. I seriously offended because both of my phone and watch was Samsung flagships but they can't connect to each other. If I can't solve this problem I will throw away my phone and watch and I will buy an iphone x with apple watch.
Similar issue here. I completed the update but the watch still shows this after multiple reboots and update checks:

For me it was updated and connect to my watch after a few days. I don't know what was the problem!
recently did the gear app update and since i did the gear s plugin keeps stopping
been onto samsung twice and they just say reset gear and app and bluetooth , this works for an hour or 2 but then crashes again .
Anyone else having this issue , it must be the app ?
in the mean time i am going to delete the new plugin and revert to the previous one if i can
I've been having the same issue for the past few days. I haven't found anything on Google, until I spotted this thread. Any help?

I deleted the plugin and installed a previous version of plugin APK 2.2.03.17061361 , no longer getting the stopped notification but there is a side effect although the watch is connected through BT in the health app it says no gear connected otherwise its fine for the mo , but the gear app wants me to update but i'm reluctant to in case it reverts to the keeps on stopping notification ..................... don't even think samsung know there is an issue with the latest plugin version
Did you find a solution?
I have similar issues.
I'm having the same issue after the recent Tizen 4 update on the Gear S3 Classic and my S8+. It says, "Gear S Plugin has stopped" and I'm not getting any notifications or messages on my watch, it's been this way after two weeks and the updated Gear So Plugin says it's not compatible with my phone (anymore) on the Google Play Store! WTF?! I have reset my watch, cleared the cache, etc with no results. The watch works fine otherwise. What is going on?
5th
Yesterday afternoon my Gear S3 disconnected spontaneously from the phone (Redmi Note 8T) as it does from time to time and I haven't been able to reconnect or pair it again ever since.
I reset the watch, uninstalled and reinstalled the phone app but the pairing never finishes. It goes through the motions both on the phone and the watch, the watch appears in the list of paired BT devices but it always comes up with "Connection failed. Try again." on the watch and goes back to "Pick your device" on the phone app. I am at the end of my witts with this one.
Can anyone help?
I am experiencing the exact same thing, it started this morning. I did install a new ROM last night, no issues so its possible that is related but I'm not seeing anything on the ROM forum about this issue. Did you install a new ROM recently?

I am just running everything stock, so there may have been an official update to either the Tizen or Galaxy Wearable app in the background but nothing that I have done.
Yeah it seems like it, well I'm glad to know I didn't directly cause it, before your post I wasn't seeing this issue anywhere. I saw some posts from years ago but were fixed with minor changes that didn't work for me.
SOLVED.
FYI this has been resolved.
It was the Samsung Health app on the phone that was hogging the pairing for some reason. In desperation and trying everything possible I removed and reinstalled the Health and after that the S3 paired no problem.
I was very hopeful when I read your message! But that was not my problem. I tried reinstalling and no dice, tried uninstalling and trying to pair and still no luck. I'm glad yours is working now!

Try this, it worked for me:
Find "Gear S Plugin" app in All Apps List, force stop, then clear cache, clear data
Remove your Gear S3 from Bluetooth paired device
Uninstall, reinstall both Samsung Health and Galaxy Wearable apps
Restart your Gear S3 and go through setup steps in Galaxy Wearable app again

Hey, thanks for the tip, it didn't work for me but I appreciate the attempt to assist.
It did end up being the ROM I was using, an update came out and fixed the issue.
