SM-G925F, IMEI Status: NG - not managing to fix even with combination firmware - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear XDA members,
this is my first post, so please be a bit patient if I do something wrong
I got a very stubborn phone from some relative - he complained that sometimes the voice is fading during voice call. Otherwise the phone was working flawlessly, no other issues/trouble, was working across Europe. It was imported to Europe from Asia, which seems to have some importance, but we'll get there.
When I got it, the first thing I tried was OTA update - however there was some error (it still had 5.11 version back in December 2018). Not thinking too much (and not being aware about CSC codes) I got Odin and flashed it with 7.0 stock firmware. At first moment everything seemed fine, but after some time I inserted my SIM-card and I noticed that phone can't register to mobile network - then I tried another SIM-card from another carrier and result was the same. I tried to flash with few another ROMs with different CSC codes - but the result was exactly the same.
The IMEI and serial numbers reported by phone were in line with info on sticker and engraving on the back cover, but then I found that *#0011# shows IMEI Status: NG.
Wondering if the phone is not black listed I checked it's IMEI at imei.info web site and to my surprise it reported different Samsung serial number than the one on back sticker/cover! I opened back cover and I found that the phone has been manipulated, there's no sticker on the battery with phone info, but is some "Chinese" OK sticker...
I searched the XDA-forum and tried various fixes:
1) deleting nv_data from /efs partition in order to restore factory IMEI, etc., (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75927733&postcount=37),
2) flashing with combination firmware (https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/guide-how-to-fix-check-drk-imei-issues-t3379516 tried both A and B methods),
3) downgrading to 5.1.1,
4) HEX editing efs partition backup to change Samsung serial number to the one reported by imei.info - I replaced sn in three places, phone reports "edited" sn, but I have no clue if it's not causing any checksum errors, I still have "original" backup,
5) repeating 1,2,3 with "new serial number",
6) installing NexusOS-9.
None of the above made it possible to connect to mobile network, checking with *#0011# after each of the above (except for NexusOS) still shows IMEI: NG
Is there any other way that could help that issue? What does IMEI: NG actually mean?
I checked with some phone repair shops, and none of them seemed to be equipped with Z3X-toolbox, at one place I heard that they can try to fix it, but give no guarantee of success, since the phone looks to be non-original.
As I wrote at the beginning - non-original or refurbished in Asia, the phone worked without any issues in few European countries, so I assume that IMEI is not black listed anywhere.
Thank you in advance for any guidance!

help needed - S6 IMEI/BASEBAND UNKNOWN -

Hello dear ones, I'm lost and I need your help.
I've bought a used SM-g920f, knox x0. It worked flawlessly. Until the first evening when in the middle of a phone call the phone app crashed. After resetting the phone it was still unable to connect to network. I have noticed that baseband/IMEI were set to unknown and so it could not read my sim card.
First I have tried the obvious - upgrading from lollipop to marshmallow. It went easy but did not help. Neither did help resenting to factory settings.
I have rooted and installed twrp recovery adb and stuff.
After almost two days playing with it, I seem to be out of options.
What I tried:
Flashing Different roms - stock and non-stock. (G920FXXS3DPB2_G920FXEU3DPB1_G920FXXS3DPB3_HOME, G920FXXS3DPB2_G920FOXX3DPB2_G920FXXS3DPB3_HOME, Pure-Stock.ExtraLiteROM_XXU3DPCA.DEODEX-v5.5.by.ambasadi, XtreStoLite-ROM-3.0-Final-DPCA) - I do not know the country of origin of this device. (the back is from testing unit), is there some way to know correct original stock ROM ?
Flashing Different modems - (G920FXXS3DPB1_Modem_TWRP, G920FXXU3DPB6_Modem_TWRP, G920FXXU3ZPA1_Modem_TWRP)
Checked sim card in another phone/different card in this phone - if sim card would be invalid, would I still get missing baseband?
Xposed Imei Changer - it did change IMEI. But that's it. Baseband still missing.
*#0011# and other *# stuff..
And I have wiped /efs (it did generate new nv_data. Guess now even broken IMEI would make ma happy)
Any ideas ?
How can I know what can be wrong? /efs partition? wrong firmware combination? hardware issue?
In Samsung Phone Info I get empty on Modem Board, Hardware Revision,Samsung Serial Number,Baseband Version.
Than you for any help or idea!
tried smart Switch emergency reinitialization?
Just to be sure, knox is triped now?

920i - no sim/no registered network after marshmallow update

Hi,
This is my first post but, I'm an avid lurker. I am having some issues with my girlfriends 920i. It received an OTA update to marshmallow and ever since it won't read the Sim card. I've tried to flash the official fw through Odin and still having the same problem. Because it doesn't read my Sim card, I have zero access to any mobile network settings.
I am wondering if when they updated the marshmallow, I lost unlock capability.
Also, her imei and sn still match. Most of the problems I see people have are mismatched numbers, and her phone seems fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So, I checked the firmware that I flashed and it was INS which seems to be the locked version.
I flashed the INU firmware this morning but still not reading my SIM.
I'm out of options at this point, I'm going to go back to lollipop and see how that goes.
Hi,
I am having this issue for my SM G-920I since 2/3 Jan, 2017. I am using fine on US Tmobile network since Oct 2015, but all of a sudden got the no SIM, emergency calls only and continues to stay like this.. I am curious to know if you resolved the issue and how. Thanks for any feedback!
Help me please
I'm having the same issue. Just flashed INS 6.0.1 firmware on my brand new G920I and now i can't get any mobile signal or data. Tried to flash ZTO firmware for my country, but same issue. My phone was fine before flashing INS firmware. IMEI it's fine too. Recovery shows: Applied multi-csc. What can i do? ((((((((((

Already updated and tried to downgrade to 5.1.1, but no sucess. I don't think it's a hw problem, cause it was working before the INS firmware flash, and IMEI number still shows right, no matter what rom i flash (now on MIUI). Can i clean EFS partition and try to flash ZTO firmware again, or i might lost my IMEI and get more problems? Also, wondering if advanced wipe with everything checked on TWRP can help. (data, internal storage, system, sbfs, cache, dalvik cache)
Can you open the phone dialer and enter this code *#*#4636#*#* then clikc Phone Information, and send a screenshot of what you see in the screen (Make sure no IMEI in the screenshot, before you post it here) ? Also check if Radio is OFF or ON.

Codes on my dialer doesn't work, but i'm sure the IMEI is right cause it's showing in phone information. Also, radio is on cause when i search for mobile networks the carriers of my country appears on the screen but when i click on then, just appears a message saying that can't connect
Same problem, any solutions?
I had same issue for over a year, you can check details in my thread, resolved by factory warranty motherboard replacement (free of charge, even thou knox was tripped when I bought it, and I told lady in authorised repair shop that i don`t have warranty).
Forgot to mention that I also tried to repair it via Octoplus box, both by me and some other people (wanted a second opinion), DRK fixed, few new certs written, etc.), not only by flashing fw via Odin or Smart Switch.
And I was 99% sure it was hw, turns I was right.
P.S. country dependable: - in some countries they will probably want to sell you a new motherboard in Samsung (happened to me), but in other factory warranty will be accepted (probably, if the phone is not older than 3 yrs I guess)

Urgent - Firmware & modem from other countries?

I've soft bricked my g930f but managed to get it going again and it's rooted. However, along the way I have managed to lose my IMEI and some other info. I am currently downloading what I believe to be the original country firmware (trinidad / tobago) and will try flashing that when I have it. I don't know if this will restore the following information that is missing, as well as (I hope) enable me to once more connect with my GSM provider. If anyone knows whether this will work I would value the advice.
Using PhoneInfo, here is a list of the missing information on my g930f:
Country of Origin (this used to be Vietnam but is now blank)
Manufacturing Date
Product Code
Available CSC codes
Mobile Operator (there is actually a single comma in this line)
Baseband version
Modem Board
Hardware Revision
IMEI
Samsung serial number (a bunch of zeroes here)
Does it seem likely that the lack of a correct modem file is the culprit for these missing items? I do have the original IMEI number written down (it's also on the back of the phone.)
UPDATE: I tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/guide-recover-imei-9-steps-t1264021 but it did not fix my problem with the IMEI. I did have a backup of the EFS folder but it may have been taken after the damage had been done.
I am currently still downloading the Trinidad/Tobago firmware from Sammobile and will post what happens when I attempt to flash that.
How did you soft brick your phone? You flashed a firmware for other countries? I'm planning of flashing the unknown firmware from Sammobile too, please keep up updated. Thank you.
I once had a problem with the IMEI, but it was because the phone was blocked by the Mobile Company.

[Completed] Help!! Galaxy J100H not registered on network.

Greetings, sharing here my particular problem from top to bottom just to take advice in general.
First of all, I live in Cuba, so my one and only network is Cubacel which runs GSM 900 mhz, so far so good with most phones.
I am between phones so I boorrowed this used J100h from a friend, which received it as a gift and has never been used. I performed a hard reset to wipe password, data, etc. Phone boots ok but no calls with cuban SIM.
The curious thing is that it does recognizes Cubacel network, it evens shows the changes on signal intensity. Bu when I try to manually add it, it finds and displays the network by its name, but reports an error when trying to register.
After 3 days of internet search I´ve narrowed to the following: I suspect the phone was unlocked or flashed previously, there is no network promo when turning on the phone but there is chinese rooting software installed and the cell is, or seems via root checker, rooted. Thought an extra /01 after the IMEI was a sign of corruption until I leraned about IMEI SV. Anyway, following this thought installed busybox and root explorer, checked efs folder, finding subfolders such as imei, factory app, etc, BUT NO .NV file. inside imei folder ther is a imeino1 file with the correct imei, but no .nv file outside. Is this fixable?? GSII repair doesnt work because seems theres is an error with the busy box install, what gives me doubts if the phone is really rooted, and if i need to be online to install busybox properly.
So, If I decide to try and flash stock rom and see if this fixes the problem here is my main doubt, which may seem obvious for some but i simply can figure out. Which stock rom version do I choose? the product code of the cell is ITV, and the bootloader also points to the italian version but the currently installed rom ends in AOG2, seemingly a greek version. I live in Cuba and everywhere I look people say that since the telephone is sim free you can install any rom, but the is no "any" or standard rom either in samsung firware o sammobile. Do I flash the same rom? do I flash the one matching the bootloader? Which stock rom version should I choose?
Very much appreciated if you have gone so far in this reading and have some piece of advice. Also excuse terrible English.
Hi !
I see plenty of firmwares on samsung website so pick one and see how it works , it doesn`t matter the region , you won`t damage anything , maybe the modifications that has been made on the device borked the network , clean stock firmware flash may resurrect it and try the one which matches the bootloader
You may have a look here as well https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-gennxt-prerooted-stock-t3126368
Good luck !

G930FD keep restarting itself after nougat

Guys really need help here, I just got a used indonesian g930fd (strangely it shows g930f on phone info) which keep restarting itself after upgrading to nougat (OTA). Also even if I already "power off" the phone, it still restarting (or booting?).
I've tried to factory reset from recovery, still keep restarting. Btw at first factory reset, somehow data partition got corrupted then second one success. Also when my data partition corrupted, the phone doesnt restart/on by itself like I mentioned before, so seems firmware related issue instead of hardware.
I also tried to go to two samsung service center, because first one somehow tell my imei is from singapore and second center tell mine is fro arab (wth) so I can't claim warranty eventho still below 1 year.
My question is:
1. Does reflashing stock (7.0) firmware will fix it?
2. Why phone info show my phone model as SM-G930F instead of G930FD?
3. Is it possible to change Product Code? rite now my product code is definitely Indonesian (SM-G930FZDUXID), originical CSC blank, everything else XID / Indonesia . I kinda have doubt now because two service centers tell different country, also sticker on back cover somehow tell its G930F, and print one on glass cover G930FD
Mind me if these question alrd asked before, but I already tried to search and googled everything and Im still lost here.
here's my firmware information from *#1234#
AP: G930FXXU1DQE7
CP: G930FXXU1DQD7
CSC: G930FOLE1DQCV
Model: SM-G930F/DS
knox: 0x0
Thanks a lot!

Hi mate
Well mate , F and FD models have the same hardware and and use the same firmware , only difference is the SIM tray , they are different to fit one or or two sim cards depending on the models.
The model number is written in the build.prop ( do not know if somewhere else) if it only written there phoneinfo can be fooled , you can double check it by checking your IMEI at this site or other similar
http://www.imei.info/
It will tell you to what phone that IMEI was issued to. Check also with phoneInfo if the phone is original or refurbish
to your questions:
1. Does reflashing stock (7.0) firmware will fix it?
Is a good chance it will, if there is no hardware issues
2. Why phone info show my phone model as SM-G930F instead of G930FD?
do not know , check by your IMEI to see what the real model is
You can flash any F firmware with the desire CSC code , just download the firmware and flash it using CSC and not home_csc

Thanks for ur response! It's still original from phone info, now not tho since I already flashed new firmware.
Things that I already did:
1. Flashing two same 7.0 nougat for Indonesian version (updato and sammobile)
2. Tried entering recovery mode while charging to check if battery dead, result can't enter recovery mode means battery should be fine.
3. Checking serial number with Smart Switch somehow tell me it's from Arab. I can't restore tho since it keep restarting.
And restart issue still there. One thing for sure it does heat up everytime. While on odin mode, it never restart tho. I still can't find the problem
Is there chance for any other hardware failure somehow aside battery? Thanks!

Hi
It's still original from phone info, now not tho since I already flashed new firmware.
The original check in phoneinfo is regarding the hardware , it has nothing to do with the firmware also you can flash a different firmware to your phone and would be still original
1. Flashing two same 7.0 nougat for Indonesian version (updato and sammobile)
What files did you flash?
2. Tried entering recovery mode while charging to check if battery dead, result can't enter recovery mode means battery should be fine.
Not sure what you mean ...if you cant enter recovery while charging means battery is fine, that makes no sense, i doubt your issue is battery
3. Checking serial number with Smart Switch somehow tell me it's from Arab. I can't restore tho since it keep restarting.
I said check your IMEI to see to what device was asigned to , to see if it was assigned to a G930F or G930FD
Is there chance for any other hardware failure somehow aside battery?
motherboard...but if before of OTA was working fine i would think more in a firmware issue
Thread closed on OP's request.
