Galaxy S10 Screen Protectors - Samsung Galaxy S10 Accessories

I’ve come across 2 articles now that screen protectors will not work on S10 series. Last week a case maker brand tested their screen protector on actual S10 phones, it doesn't work due to ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. I wonder that how other leading brands like GadgetShieldz, Dbrand, Rhinoshield are gonna make screen protectors that works on S10 series. Eagerly waiting for the launch event to see that if Samsung has any solution for this.
Has any brand come up with any solutions? How is Samsung going to solve this??
***************Edit**************
It seems, as of now, only wet application screen protectors like Gadgetshieldz and UV tempered glass like whitestone dome would work with the S10 and S10+. I have also seen Tempered Glass with holes and thin films around the fingerprint area which looks insanely horrible.
With the whitestone costing a whooping 70US$ for the 2 pack and not available until 3/22 (in fact not available for shipping outside US at all), I have ordered the Gadgetshieldz screen + body protector combo for like 10$ from here **************************** and now looking for a cheap bumper.
That would complete my protection needs for now and will see how performance of other screen protectors pan out mean while.

They tried that too, but it doesn't work it seems. It's like other brands are drastically looking for a solution to work on it.

I haven't heard it will have a hole in it? I saw a picture of one with a hole in it and it was ugly and I think not true. I know we have to wait and see but I just called this Zagg Kiosk at the mall and she said she has the Invisisheild one for the S 10 plus already no glass ones yet I said oh so it's going to work with the Ultra Sonic Sensor and she said I guess so. So I don't know but if It didn't work they would give you a refund. Everyone is saying Whitestone will be the only one to have a tempered glass one that will work so we will have to wait and see.

Apparently the whitestone dome will work with the onscreen fingerprint reader.
Theres no air gap with it like the usual screen protectors on curved screens

Well if it's the only one that will work I'm getting it. And since it's a 2 pack my husband will use the other He hasn't had one on his Note 8 1st phone without one but I told him cause of this fingerprint scanner he probably should use one. I hope we get them on good It would be nice if one was already on the phone.

Have you ever used the Whitestone dome protectors? The two pack is because the first one is practice, lol. I had to get three before I got it correct on my note 9 with no bubbles. I'm a little slow so I figure most can do it by the second try. These buggers are expensive too.

That is great news!

Can Whitestone be replaced or is it glue

i'm reading the spec on canada's koodoo website and also bestbuy canada.. it saids it comes preinstalled with a screen protector?? so do i need to order another? coz i ordered the whitestone ones.. china have plenty of knock off screen protector that will work too as long as it's the ones that is bonded with UV glue

it's not really glue. it's an adhesive and NOT permanent, the protector can be removed.

It seems the Whitestone one will work since that's the first thing you see on their site now. https://www.whitestonedome.com/

I've also heard that glass protectors aren't going to work with this phone. I usually buy mine from amfilm, so I emailed them yesterday to see if they would have any glass for the S10 stuff. Here's the reply I got:
Hello!
Thank you for your question. At the moment, we are offering a Plastic Film called Elastic Skin (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NS6FC2Q) that will work with the Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor. We are still in development of other glass options, but are working fervently to produce a glass protector that will work with the S10. Please feel free to check back in, and to keep any eye out for our future releases on Amazon.
Thanks!
Eric
TechMatte
So I guess it's the old school PET films for now... amFilm has always been pretty high quality, so I'll just keep watch for new stuff. I just don't want to shell out $50 for a screen protector from Dome - seems a little superfluous.

It's still kind of early for these to be out, I haven't seen Zagg release one yet but has anyone ordered one yet they were happy with. I just ordered one from China off eBay.. I'm expecting the worse but hoping for the best. Hopefully it will get me by until Zagg puts out their Invisible Shield tempered glass.

Just be super careful never to bend the edges at all. If you do it will never seat properly. If you don't get it down right or get dust underneath use a piece of scotch tape to lift it back off - never lift from the edge.

A.R.M is the brand, i have this for my tab S 8.4.
I noticed these tempered glass protectors. I seen one on ebay for $9 for the galaxy tab s 8.4. I thimk it was from the same seller, just didnt want to wait long for overseas shippinh, or worse yet, get something that was not advertised correctly.
Are they heavier and thicker than a standard screen protector?
Do they leave a gap between the outer bezel and the protector?
Do they have extra unnecessary cutouts on them?
If i have a jot fine tip, will it interfear with the precision of it?
Is there an affordable brand i should look into?
Sorry about the questions, i would like to know these things before getting one though.

I would say they are about 2x thicker than plastic ones. There is a noticeable ridge around the edges and home button however the fingerprint scanner works fine. I have bought a few cheapo ones from eBay and they are good quality (for note 2 and iphones).
Btw my note stylus works fine and touchscreen is just as sensitive

If you got it direct from Samsung store, it should be the A.R.M brand reasonable quality, they make good PET screen protectors, been using them for many years before glass protectors became the mainstream product.
Snagged this tempered glass protector and it fits/performs well. I only use tempered glass protectors anymore whenever possible.
tempered glass usually around .2 or .3 mm only... you wont feel any different except for a very clear display and less fingerprint...
I bought this one from Ebay. When I put it on it was like a bear had put its paws all over it, no air or dust bubbles, just what looked to be areas of non-adhesion. The top left corner, where you pull the film off, also won't stay down. It really is a total waste of money. The seller said he would send a replacement but didn't and I just got word from paypal a few minutes ago that they had ruled in my favour and refunded my money. So I'm on the lookout for another.

Sometime its not always the protector, it could be the way people put the protector on, which can affect the corner not staying down, and sometime the display are not always made totally flat, i have noticed this with some samsung tab and smartphone.

Any tempered glass screen protector recommendations?

Hey all,
I've used one on my note 4 since day 1 and its been the best investment. Not a single scratch on my pretty and its unnoticeable. So far on amazon I see a bunch of small brands marketing theirs. Wanted to know if anyone had an experience with Sparin, ijoy etc. Maybe the consensus is to wait for Spigen, Steinheil and others to come with theirs? Please chime in.

There are really no good curved ones for the S7 Edge except one from China and that one seems to break very easily. Doubt it will be different for the note 7. I'll either go with a flat tempered glass that only protects the flat part of the screen or the IQ liquid shield. The IQ shield that I have on my S7E is okay but nowhere near as nice as a tempered glass protector.
I'm not sure if it was a Gorilla Glass 5 sample, but I swear I saw a Samsung branded tempered glass on a YouTube video (the ones made by the reviewers) from the day of the presentation.
Give a look when the camera rolls over the accessories on the tables on stage.
I'll check it out...thanks. if I can get a glass one I will have to rotate a bunch of skinomis and Chuck em at the orange peel phase.

I ordered that one since I use their tempered screen on my Samsung Tab S2 and have had no issues so far.
I have a follow up question on this... based on the S7 edge screen protector discussion it seems that even if a protector works it doesn't work with cases. Has anyone tried modifying the case like shaving off a little bit so it fits the screen protector? I have been wondering if that could be a way to make it work.

Yeap, I experienced this when I bought the S6 Edge and returned it due to no tempered glass working perfectly with the Edge to Edge display. I'm hoping things improved since the curve display has been out for a while and this has a slight curve to it.
I've always used tempered glass protectors since my S4. my dad has an S6 Edge and I bought a few different tempered glass protectors and they do not work properly at all. They usually all have an "edge" adhesive. Just a strip of glue around the edge of the device instead of the whole screen like flat screen devices.
For this phone I bought the Skinomi note 7 protector.

I bought two curved glass from Amazon.
here is one https://www.amazon.com/Tempered-Pro..._SR160,160_&psc=1&refRID=Z343M09T5D72J2425XPP
If they don't work I am sending them it back for my money back. I think worse case I use the one without curves. I think the note 7 curves are at more of an angle so maybe it will not be that bad with the flat glass.
https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Te...&sr=8-1&keywords=note7+screen+protector+glass
Just played with the note 7 at the sprint store and they had a screen protector on it that only covered the flat part. Couldn't tell if it was glass or not but it definitely affected the use of the phone.

It made it hard to swipe from the edge for the edge apps. I guess not a complete deal breaker, but I would rather just go with a full coverage wet application.

Tempered glass screen protector for galaxy S10

Are you gong to buy a Tempered glass screen protector for your S10? First screen protector that comes into mind is the Whitestone Dome but this one is going to be very expansive. What screen protector are you going to use?
If you really want a great protector that's the one I would buy...I think you get two in package... I'm planning on not installing one of the phone comes with pre installed one ...if. I do get one it will be White Dome
iPhone X
My tip is to hold off on getting tempered glass protector first because of how it might affect the ultra sonic fp sensor

Lol, the pre-installed screen protectors that you are talking about is a joke. These cheap ones get scratched up in no time. Tempered Glasses don't work with the Ultrasonic Fingerprint scanner on the S10 phones. The ones that work (white stone) are not available until 3/22 and don't ship outside US.
I got this Gadgetshieldz one as these kind of self healing TPU screen protectors are the ones that are compatible with the S10 series phones currently. Like the Zagg invisible shield. MKBHD even did a test on these. And for the 10$, I am getting a screen protector, a protector for the back, sides and camera lens. Might change these once something reasonable is available.

Whitestone has been proven to work with the security on the phone. Pricey. 50 bucks but you get 2 glass shields in case you do break one
I HIGHLY recommend the Whitestone protectors. The adhesive makes them SUBSTANTIALLY more chip/crack resistant and the touch sensitivity is light years ahead of other protectors (like ZAGG). It was my go-to on Note and now S10+.
I am a minimalist and finally found a case that's thin but also adds SOME protection. TORRAS on Amazon. The hard plastic has a matte finish, amazing touch and feel but little protection. The silicone option is thin, has ridges to protect camera and screen but slides in pants and pockets easily. It DOES offer drop protection relatively.
hey guys came across this,
cheap alternative to whitestone.
I think its only for aus. not sure.

Whitestone dome glass protector disables my finger print sensor effectively. My hit rates are less than 50% on the scanner. I've tried everything to get this to work such as re-registering prints, enable touch sensitivity, updating software. My install was perfect since I've had experience with this product before. I really wanted this to work, further their customer support is impossible to get ahold of.
I have 1 Whitestone TGSP but I'm not installing it until I get the two pack. I have never installed this before so I want the extra ones to use in case I goof the first install, and then (hopefully) have a spare if I crack the 2nd one.

Actually it doesn't! Numurous vids on ytube show it. If your concerened, de register your fingerprint, install Whitestone and them re-register your prints. If you follow some of the comments here. People are using it., when you get into the system. delete the current prints and redo them
Edit: on a side note. I actually redid my fingerprints today because now I am getting familiar with the phone and how im holding it. Once I did that, now it unlocks wayyy better. I havent installed whitestone yet. price changed and 80 bucks for 2 Yikes! You said 50% of the time you can gt in the phone. when you do, delete the current ones and turn off the finger print sensor, turn the phone off and then back on and re-register

Those are YouTube videos that show it works on a single unlock. I'm not disputing that it never works, it just doesn't work adequately enough. A youtuber showing a single unlock does not mean it works. When compared to a physical sensor on prior galaxy devices the success rate is likely almost 100%. The whitedome stone glass makes it incredibly harder to get an unlock on the s10 (less than 50% success for me). See the amazon reviews, there are numerous reviews claiming issues with this glass protector. Further you can find additional evidence of the issues on subreddit for galaxys10.
I understand that some may not be installing this correctly, but I know i have since I've done this numerous times. As stated above, i've re-registered finger prints, updated software and enabled touch sensitivity. I don't think this is a dud either since there are numerous reports of it not working properly.

Believe me when I say that I really wanted this to work because I love glass protectors. But it just simply didn't after everything I've tried.
Not sure I understand the light sensitivity you are referring to but this is an ultra sonic finger print reader which basically uses sound waves that bounce off your finger to map your prints. I think the issue is that these sound waves are having issues propagating through the glass protectors/loca glue, although they seem to have no issue going through the gorilla glass.

Screen Protector Pre-installed?

Anyone know if there is a pre-installed screen protector like on the past models? Or is the new glass strong enough they no longer need that.
I am not sure, but I just ordered the Whitestone Dome tempered glass protector for the Note 20 Ultra.... it will get here before the phone does.

I would like to know this too. I have seen a couple of unboxing videos and they do come with a screen protector on them but those are reveiw units and there is a hole in the screen protector for the fingerprint sensor. So hopefully retail units will differ. But with the new Gorrilla glass 7 I am thinking it wont.

Sure looks like it could be one.?
Yes it has one on the store models
Which past models came with a screen protector?
It does not have screen protection as it is on Note10 +. It is just a wrapping foil because it has Gorilla Glass Victus which is very resistant to scratches.

But glass is glass and glass will scratch. A scratch on glass like Gorilla class is a weak point adding to a chance of it breaking. After all, Glass is glass, and glass breaks.

Only takes few grains of sand in your pocket to scratch that glass
Yes it does.
Yes it indeed comes with a screen protector.
But the quality and degree of protection it offers has not been made clear anywhere by Samsung.
I am attaching a photo of the warning paper which came with the box.
Hope that suffices for all doubters whether it really is a screen protector or just an antidust plastic cover.

Confirmed for my Hong Kong N9860. The camera cut out is the giveaway, otherwise there is almost no sign of the protector. It is extremely well fitted and feels great - smooth and clear like glass - and the fingerprint sensor is fast and reliable. And FWIW a clear TPU case was also included, nearly overlooked as I almost didn't bother opening the "paperwork" packaging.
US variant does not.
Looks like samsung usa got fed up with the customer complaints about the factory screen protectors that American customers gave them and put and end to that :good:
I remember folks on the interwebs and on here asking samsung for replacement films under warranty absolutely comical . No wonder they pulled that added feature for certain regions

I can verify the US version DOES NOT HAVE A FACTORY APPLIED SCREEN SAVER. I'd been looking to remove it if there were a factory applied screen saver like the Note10 Plus.
My Note20 Ultra has horrible screen response even with the screen sensitivity adjustment in settings on. Attempting to play games is awful especially the recently used window. I'm talking it takes 3 or more attempts actually function. The screen sensor IS picking up taps but erratically if it works at all! ?
Also has anyone else noticed their screen is actually BOWING in the center? Lift it up to a bright light while looking at the surface from an extreme angle. It's only on the screen itself, the back of the device is flawless.
I'm just curious if any else is experiencing this before I make a fool of myself trying to explain it to the world's best customer service dept. when/where there may be a language barrier. ?
Hope this helped a bit and hope to get some kind of feedback from everyday users regarding the bow in the middle of the screen.
THANKS!
UK, from Samsung direct, DOES have a screen protector. No issues so far, My Note 10+ did, I thought maybe my 9 did too but my memory isn't what it was.
Personal experience on 3 phones - don't buy Whitestone - fingerprint sensor wouldn't work. Paid YouTubers say it does 100%, many on here do too, but never for me and it's an expensive fail.

My note 9 didn't have any. But I broke the glas on it and had it repaired and then it came with preinstalled screen protector.
Notwithstanding where on the planet you purchase your Galaxy S20 handset from, it will have a screen defender on it. While it doesn't offer a similar sort of insurance that you can get from a treated glass defender, it works admirably of protecting your showcase from dings and scratches.
Got my N986B Note 20 ultra 5G in France with my carrier SFR and it got screen protector pre-installed

Accessories Official Samsung S22 Ultra Screen Protector?

Noticed Samsung is selling an official S22 Ultra screen Protector. I don't remember them ever selling an official screen protector before. Are they trying to tell us the screen isn't very scratch resistant?

It used to come preinstalled. Getting really tired of this nickeling and diming. Started with the Headphones, the USB-C adapter and now not even a damn battery while the cost of the phone minus the headphone jack and SD slot keeps going up...

From what I have seen, it depends on the region. Here in Czech Republic, no samsung phone ever came preinstalled with a screen protector.
Is it a dry or wet application? I've always liked the wet application protectors like Skinomi.
The S9-S21 devices came with a screen protector preinstalled. From what I've seen and heard, the S22 does not come with one.

Yeah, apparently this was remove to reduce 'carbon footprint' imo is just a lame excuse to keep removing stuff that should be included, like the charger.
Any good wet install screen protectors?

This.
Coincidence or not, since S10 (I skipped S9) the oleophobic coating on screen lasted much less then S7 and S8. I stayed like 2 to 3 months with Preinstalled screen protector + 3 months with acceptable oleophobic coating on the screen, while in S8 the oleophobic coating lasted more than 1 year. Let's see if my theory of preinstalled screen protector shorten the lifespan of oleophobic coating now with S22.

Spigen Neoflex is a bliss to instal and fairly durable. I'd say they've done something to the composition compared to Neoflex dedicated for n20u and n8 which I've used in the past

yes it's TPU, but is the best TPU I have ever had on any device (I usually prefer glass, but you know, curved screen), PET is quite old tech really - it's what all the old fashioned thick plastic screen protectors used to be made from - whilst the tech is better now, it's still technically the lowest grade out of PET, TPU and Glass.

With a case on clear the display, collect the dust with a sticker, spray included liquid, press bubbles. Enjoy. If misaligned reapply
