If the following table is correct then I have a GT-N8013. I'm running KitKat 4.4.2 on it: (N8010XXUDNE4_N8010BTUDNF1_BTU_N8013.tar.md5).
How close can one get to the latest version of Android and still have a working GT-N8013?
GT-N8000 - Wifi+3G+calling
GT-N8005 - Wifi+3G
GT-N8010 - Wifi (Except USA)
GT-N8013 - Wifi (Only USA)
GT-N8020 - Wifi+LTE
KK 4.4.2 is the last release from Samsung .
Android then see your models custom rom section .

I've just picked up a used 10.1 (first edition) and am hoping to get it onto 5.1.1 or 6.01.
I see a custom CM ROM from Cyanogen, that states it's 6.0 official, but when I go to the site the release is really old for the 8013, and I'm not sure if it's been grouped in with the more recent beta group that is linked in the thread or if it's not.
I also see an older Cyanogen thread for 12, but that's pre 6.0 and appears to be somewhat abandoned.
My Note 3 is on phronesis 6.0.1, and I would like to get the Note 10.1 to as close to that as possible, without dealing with any major bugs.
Thank you for your assistance.
Some progress.
I managed to update mine to Marshmallow 6.0.1 (cm-13.0-20160523-UNOFFICIAL-n8013.zip) via CWM v6.0.3.6 but Google Apps keeps crashing.
I've tried both open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20160721.zip (Open GApps) and gapps-600-base-20151107-1-signed.zip. Both take hours to install and just keep crashing whenever you try to do anything.
Anyone have any luck getting cm-13.0-20160523-UNOFFICIAL-n8013.zip / and GApps.zip working?

I had it crashing initially too, with CM-13.
I reinstalled the ROM, root, twrp, everything. I also made sure to install the latest "Stock" Gapps, before rebooting once the ROM was in place. Since then I have not had any issues.
I did however have some issues using the nano package. Hope that helps.
Still no joy
I still can't get CM-13 to work. I use CWM. I made sure I was using the latest CWM 6.0.4.6.
I booted into CWM, factory reset and cleared cache. Flashed cm-13.0-20160523-UNOFFICIAL-n8013.zip.
I then factory reset and cleared cache again and flashed gapps-600-base-20151107-1-signed.zip.
I then factory reset and cleared cache again and rebooted.
No joy.
What actual gApps and CM-13 did you use? Maybe I need to use the same version of TWRP as you used?
I'm stumped.

I used the ARM 6.0 Stock version for CM 13. http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps#Downloads
I ended up swapping to the 2014 model because I got a good deal on a Verizon version (which is locked but oh well), so I don't recall the TWRP that I ran. It sounds like that sometimes gives people issues.
I do recall that using the nano version of gapps was not working for me. Could be a coincidence, but I had constant crashes when I tried using it.
This is the thread I used to grab the ROM and TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-1/development/rom-lollipop-t3269375
It helps to read the installation notes properly
The problem(s) I was having were resolved by using twrp-2.8.7.0-gt-n8013 instead of N8013-CWM-Touch-6.04.6. I also used open_gapps-arm-6.0-stock-20160803 instead of nano but I really think it was TWRP that made everything work.
I'm now running cm-13.0-20160523-UNOFFICIAL-n8013 without any problems.
I consider this thread closed.

How did you get KitKat on n8013. It was never released and no one successfully flashed 4.4 n8010 to n8013. Odin keeps giving an error. Please I've been trying for years now since it's been 2 years since update was released and doesn't look like it'll ever release (**** yoi Samsung with your update **** and regions)
Anyone have any luck? I've had this tablet since 2013 and I stopped using it because it has always been such a laggy sluggish experience. I thought I would try putting an AOSP ROM on it to see if that helped. Everything is so old for this device that it's nearly impossible to find the old files, ROMs, recoverys, etc. I can't even get TWRP or CWM to work on it. Maybe it's not worth the trouble anymore.

Well official only kitkat if you are international (Samsung decided not to release a lot of device updates in the us for kit kat including the s3, galaxy light, and this one). However I think you can get CM 13.1, idk about anything more recent but there is a (slightly) active community for it still left. Its a shame that this flagship tablet was neglected. I hope it doesn't happen with future Samsung ones but I've avoided buying any. I still use mine on jellybean for basic internet browsing and games

Not sure if you're still looking but I just installed Android Nougat v7.1.2 using the instructions provided here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2185119
I have a N8010 that topped out at 4.1.2. I flashed to a N8013 kernel/rom about 2 years ago which maxed out at 4.2.2 . I just recently found that link to the LineageOS build (Formerly Cyanogenmod) when I was contemplating buying a new tablet. The tablet was getting a bit sluggish so I decided to go ahead and blast it out and see what happened. I was VERY pleasantly surprised! Had some issues getting the Recovery flashed but once I did, it was pretty smooth from there. I had backed up all the apps so once I got it booted and restored all the apps, I was surprised how responsive it is. Oh, and you can say goodbye to all those SD card issues that the Note 10.1 had since this version of Android integrates the external SD with the internal SD so everything gets installed on the external card. No need for apps like folder mount, etc.
I highly recommend it. The only issue is that you lose the integrated S-Pen functionality but you can reinstall some of those apps from the play store and bring back a lot of those features. Some 3rd party apps actually work better.
Good luck!
7.1.2 on GT-N80013
I am currently running an unoffical build I picked up here on xda it is an unofficial Lineage OS build. I haven't currently found any bugs... camera works, bluetooth works, wifi works... at least for me. The build number is 14.1-20170810-unnofficial-n8013

I'd appreciate a link to the rom you installed. Thx.
I'm interested as well I'm still running original os. Also wondering if the rom update works well on these tablets since they are older. As Android matures the os gets bigger which can impact performance on older CPUs.

I recently installed Lineage OS 14 and it is working great.
Tablet is stable, everything works, great battery life.
All devices work gps, etc...
The s-pen will not work like it did stock but there are apps you can get that seem to work better
Squid and Sketch for drawing....squid seems cool if you write with stylus
Install Magisk instead of supersu.

This is a list of Nougat ROMs for this device and it's clones.
The list will be in the following format:
ROM : Version : Device : Tested/Untested
LineageOS : 14.1 : MMXC5 / E481 : Untested
Resurrection Remix : 5.8.4 : MMXC5 / E481 : Tested
crDROID : v3.5 : MMXC5 / E481 : Tested
AOSGPX : 7.1.2 : MMXC5 / E481 : Untested
There are also ROMs for the Elephone P8000, however the first time I tried one I got into a bootloop. It could just have been that I didn't wipe my caches, or it could have been a fault in the ROM; nonetheless I haven't tried any others from that device.
I couldn't find any for other devices, let me know if you see others.
Here is the factory firmware, as according to this post (Direct Download).
Also, the stock recovery: Original Post | Direct Download.
Im currently running crDroid and I couldn't be happier. Runs far better than the original firmware and the useless marshmallow update.

Have you encountered any bugs with crDroid? Did screen on time and standby increase by any good margin because doze and other os optimizations? With stock I get 7hrs SOT with LTE half the day. 5hrs if Skype calls and such.

Only bug so far is the kill app button not working (long press the back button) and sometimes after reboot sim cards not being detected. Usually it corrects itself after a few minutes. If not, I'll just re-flash the fix
Battery gets drained pretty fast compared to lollipop, but then again I used lollipop with xposed, greenify and amplify.

Happy to hear only minor bugs. I'm waiting on black Friday SD card to ship and then I'll be able to test too.
On lollipop all I needed to use was power nap to kill unwanted wake locks. I'll definitely try to get it to work because batter life is important to me. Only reason I'm upgrading is because of older exploits that stock didn't get updates for. Other than that stock with xposed is extremely stable for me.(30-60 days between reboots)
Do you know if crDroid is using stock lollipop kernel or is it a ported kernel? That would effect battery life greatly I suppose.
review of roms
Review time. Installed and tested these roms by wiping dalvik cache, system, data, cache and internal storage. Flashed ROM then gapps then "front camera flash" patch lastly flashed sim patch. Afterwards I wiped cache and dalvik cache again before rebooting. Once I had access to settings I disabled display live/night mode/blue filter for all ROMs.
All the roms tested used about 1GB of ram (and stock ROM being around <600MB.).
Resurrection Remix : 5.8.4 : Looks to me a part of this rom was made by another group of people that were not given credit.. Default browser loads the homepage of the other group. The system FM radio app was asking for root permission(denied it). Also it had email services running before I added any accounts can't remember this being the norm. Other than that this ROM ran the best in terms of speed and ui. Uninstalled because of security concerns.
LineageOS : 14.1 : This ROM has about the same speed as resurrection which is good but the ui stuttered/not smooth. Uninstalled because ported by same user as resurrection.
crDROID : v3.5 : This one ran the worse. It was slow and stuttered throughout the ui. Missed some customizations that Resurrection had so not sure why any one would want to use this instead.
AOSGPX : Didn't bother installing because last I heard they copied and pasted code from crDRoid.
At the end of the day I reverted back to stock because of security concerns. As well as having more ram available for apps. If I had more than one phone phone I would wireshark/test connections of the ROMs to confirm but I do not have. Hopfully this helps someone.

Just wondering with the ROM testing, did you disable the LiveDisplay nonsense? It drops my FPS to about 10, and is enabled by default.
Sorry, didn't read your whole post. I didn't find UI stuttering unless I enabled weird kernel stuff, or had L Speed installed.
Does anyone happen to know if any of these ROMs fix the problem that the official MM caused which was that all camera apps created a very dark image and took extremely dark photos?

Wow, thorough, thanks. Don't know what half those things are but I'll look them up. I guess there's no way to go straight back to Lollipop without flashing a stock ROM. I mean, by rooting it now maybe and then downgrading or something?

You could flash a lollipop twrp backup, if anyone uploaded one or if you made one before. But if you don't have it, only way is by sp flash tool and original firmware (which is not a recovery flashable zip).
Been using the Crdroid rom for a few weeks now. Havn't had any lag or extreme battery issues. Im interested in trying the resurrection remix rom since it was tested to be the fastest, tho them security issues are kinda holding me back. One thing im lookin for is front camera flash and back aswell. on Crdroid u cannot toggle it in the camera app, tho the flash works.

What are these security issues people are mentioning? Isn't a ROM a ROM? I don't get it.
Also, if crDroid works fine, you could just try any other camera app. There are several that are quite good. I wish there were videos of crDroid.

I mean with what's going on with Kaspersky being investigated for allowing certain trogens to work undetected and Kaspersky is own by Russians and since when does fm radio need root access.
Just a bit sketchy you know... But it could be just over-thinking it.

Latest release
Built from whoshotjr2006/touchpro's sources with minimal changes. All credit to original devs.
I'm not going to commit to regular updates but I'll try to do occasional ones.
Recommend using this TWRP (also stolen from touchpro).
Installation:
Enable developer options in stock ROM (tap build number a bunch of times)
Enable 'Advanced Restart' in developer options
Hold power button, select restart, restart to bootloader
Use fastboot to unlock bootloader
Use fastboot to flash TWRP recovery
Reboot to recovery using fastboot command
Wipe everything in TWRP, format data, and factory reset
Push ROM to /sdcard/ and install
Optionally push Gapps and/or LineageSU and install
Boot and enjoy (first start might take a while)
Tested on a T-Mobile LG G Stylo, all seems well.
As far as I can tell, everything is working fine. You should be able to dirty flash if you are using another Lineage 14.1 build but I haven't tested it.
It's awesome to see others making roms for this device again, but do you think you will be able to make a oreo rom though? ?

The LOS14 tree is still getting security updates and will run a lot faster than LOS16. I could build an Oreo ROM but there's little chance of finding the vendor FW needed to get camera, bluetooth, etc working properly.

oh, well that's unfortunate...
So what is different? Just security updates?
This ROM breathed new life into my old MetroPC version of this phone (2GB/16GB)!
I bought this phone two years ago refurbished and carrier-unlocked (other than banned on MPC) off Amazon. Looked brand new. I just installed a new battery last month. Original battery wore out.
ROM works beautifully. Nice to be free of the factory cruft. Also, the TWRP from your OP works much better than the one I had been running. (Neither TWRP reads the current time/date through.)
I had been rooted with SuperSU, now I'm rooted with Magisk. I flashed mini Gapps 7.1.
I have not tested NFC yet.
Thank you for this ROM and your post!
My TMo h631 will not take the image. During the install it will kernel panic and throw an error.
I do factory reset, wipes, formats but still no go.
Anyone knows how I can fix it?
Will this work fine on the LGM631?

About:
This ROM is just an update to Official RR-v7.0.2 Pie. It integrates latest security patches, bugfixes and features from LineageOS and Google.
Oneplus3 RR development was stopped, so I decided to build own ROM that incorporates latest updates just to be safe.
This ROM is functionally equal to the original RR, no bloatware added, no applications replaced.
I don't want to switch to Android 10 yet, because of BETA version of GAPPS, missing face unlock and early stage of development in general.
I want to stay with Android 9 for next few months, until Android 10 gets stabilized.
Next updates will be posted monthly (to provide latest security updates) or if any serious bug is found.
I expect that I'll be maintaining this build for at least next 3-6 months. I want to see where Android 10 development goes.
This ROM was made for my own usage, but I wanted to share my work results with you if somebody is interested.
All credits goes to official authors of RR, LineageOS and FraEgg, Mady51. I picked their changes to make this ROM complete and up to date.
Features:

Hello. I just installed your "unofficial" update. All is working great. Thank you so much for doing this! Dziekujemy!
I'm glad to hear that! You're welcome I'm happy that this build could be useful for others.
Going to try this. been running the june Official RR update, but having sound problems (different issues on 2 phones). Update modem/firmware, wipe, and install this, will see if it helps!
Please, let me know about the results. Maybe we can debug the problem somehow. I have no problems on my phone, everything works as expected. Have you got any hw changes? Was your mobile serviced?
What about Luis version, I mean why are you building an other RR Pie, just curious.
Well, thing is simple. I prepared this build for myself, it was shared if somebody looks for something similar. I wanted to be independent from anybody. I cannot foresee if there will be new version and when maintenance will be stopped.
Thanks to Luis, some of the repos are taken from his github (e.g. android_frameworks_base).
My build is almost vanilla RR without any customizations, reworks - only updates and bugfixes, nothing else. Some of updates are missing in Luis ROM, so I integrated them.
I'm planning to merge some missing features from Los, that are not yet integrated in both Luis and mine builds.
Moreover I wanted to get some practice with android before starting work on porting RR to android ten, if there will be no official support. I'm not planning to change the device soon, so I want to have guaranteed support
I was on OOS 9.0.6, wiped all and formatted data, rebooted recovery (on latest official TWRP recovery), now when I try to flash this ROM, it end up with E1001: Failed to update system image. Tried flashing latest firmware again, still same.
Format everything, system, data, cache. Most probably you forgot to format system partition.

Thanks Oneny, I tried it twice with wiping everything and formatting data, but same error, now tried flashing Havoc 3.0 and it worked just fine, no idea what's wrong with it.
I've switched back from HavocOS 3.0 to RR Pie. I had few problems:
- Google Pay do not work (even if Magisk says that basic integrity and cts profile are ok)
- Face Unlock is unavailable (maybe related to the beta version of Gapps)
- Phone stops ringing after 0.1s, only vibrates (couldn't find the reason)
- Terrible battery drain
I gave up after 3 re-flash attempts and moved back to RR which works like a charm.
@obeney thanks for this build. Works great so far.
One question: does the LTE quick setting do anything? In other ROMs it would turn off LTE network mode.

The problems were on the official RR rom. After switching to yours, my bluetooth problem went away (phone forced "dual channel" mode, causing garbled audio or no audio with some speakers/headsets, had to select stereo in developer options after each connect), but I'm still not getting notifications playing. sometimes the first 1/2 second of the sound is played, then cut off. The rest of the time, silence. I'm using the stock notification sound, so it's not something I've added on that front. I'm not expecting any serious instability, I had no problem doing 700+ hours uptime on official RR.
I plan to bring another phone to this rom this weekend. It has the same notification cutoff problem, no bluetooth issue, and some audio problems (can't hear calls from main earpiece speaker). I'll follow up if that clears up, but I'm thinking that's probably a HW problem. No servicing here, both phones were new in box 3T.
ROM is good stuff, thank you for putting it together!
Edit: It seems that the Notifications are playing now mostly, and get cut off more often when the phone has been in sleep for a while.

Just checked that and it seems it is always on, no matter whether it was triggered or not. I never used this option and didn't know that it even exists
Was this LTE switch working on Official RR pie?
Should I take a look into it to fix that?

I just tried Luis' build before and it didn't work there either. I guess it is not that important so you don't have to put in the work just for me.
If enough people also request it you could maybe think about it . But I will survive without it
airtel volte works?anybody plz confirm volte is imp for me this is the only thing stopping me from using custome roms.
Does the VoWifi feature, work by default on this ROM ?
I want to use Jio VoWifi (India) on my OnePlus 3.

Did you reflash the FW before downgrading to Pie?
Try it and see if it´s different In the HAVOC 3.0 installation notes, it was specified the FW´s reinstallation before reflashing Pie ROM
BTW It was announced that encryption is fixed in the last HAVOC 3.1 build! (I didn´t test it )

Hello everyone,
I am creating this post because I would like to know if someone has already installed Ressurection Remix on a Galaxy A8 ?
I saw some tutorials that are explaining this is possible, but when I go to the Ressurection Remix official download page, I cannot find which file is specific to the galaxy A8. Actually, I have some difficulties to understand the files names : Raphael, Sakura, Jason,... Are theses names code names for différents phones ?
I may add that the bootloader of my phone is unlocked, and I am using TWRP to flash zip files.
I didn't treblelize my phone thought.
If you have some other custom rom suggestions, please do not hesitate to advise me.
You can install RR through GSI, by this link
You will have to trebelize your device
Because it's a gsi android 10, you can use vendor quack
Treble Guide
Vendor Quack
Thanks for your reply. Yes I saw that it was possible to treblelize the phone, to install other rom like the very famous lineage os.
But I am little bit hesitant about this procedure : is everything working well with the phone after a treblelization ? Has anyone tried this method?

Treblizing the phone itself does not cause any problem rather it enables you to install different GSIs. Regarding GSIs, each have there own bugs and you have to find them on the GSI thread if available or if they have telegram or github support.
Hey, just made an account to respond to this as I just discovered there are per-device pages on these forums and saw this post, I have done exactly that and been running it for 2+ years now, so far I have had no majour problems wih it, the only majour caviat is that after trebblimg it and installing resurrection remix It seems to freeze when trying to display the charging animation if the phone is off and it plugged in, it still charges without any problems, tho to boot it when in this situation you need to force shut it down using the volume_down + lock buttons and then immidiately after use volume_up + lock buttons to boot into recovery, then you can boot to the normal system from there, I have a TWRP recovery but I think the stock one also allows to resume booting the normal system.
In these last months I had a few weird bugs like the screen brightness beeing locked to automatic but that went away after a reboot and only happened 1 time.
I also installed magisk and a few other small tweaks and things and everything works great, also all resurrection remix customization options.
Actually in the last few months something broke because the safetynet checks fail for the ctsProfile, (most apps like my banking app tho still work fine by using magisk hide (i think it's because the safetynet basicIntegrity check still succeds) and the update page seems also broken (tho no idea about when this broke exactly as I haven't checked it in years), everything else is still fine tho, I might try re-flashing it to update to the new majour resurrection remix when i have time and the will to backup and move everything, something could have corrupted or maybe an update broke it, no idea.
My phone reports resurrection remix 7.0.2 and Android 9.
Hope this is still helpful.
