[Q] Aosp extended ROM - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I'm currently running kitkat 4.4.4, Cm 11.0xnph44s on my One plus one (64gb). I wanted to flash the Aosp extended ROM but not sure about Gapps, which platform on gapps should I choose, and Android Oreo 8.0 or 8.1? Also which variant do I pick also. I have unlocked my boatloader when flashed cm12 previously do it need to be done every time before flashing a ROM?
Why does my twrp get overwritten by stock recovery?
Aosp extended or LineageOS better ROM?

You are posting in the development section. You can get the answers from the thread of the rom you are wanting to flash.

I am about to flash Lineage os 15.1 on my OPO. I am looking for the gapps package that comes with Google face unlocking feature, which one should I flash flash (full, stock, micro, pico)?

Question about kernels

So I've had CyanogenMod 12 Nightly installed on my phone for a while now and I wanted to flash a custom kernel but they are all for Android 5.0.1 instead of 5.0.2. Will it still cooperate and function?

In all likelihood, probably not. Kernels are generally very version specific.

Rooting MM 6.0.1 m4b30z

Just recently bought an old N5. Just wanna know if the latest twrp and Supersu okay to flash on the stock marshmallow? Already unlocked my bootloader. Is the next step be flashing TWRP(31.0.-0) through fastboot then reboot to recovery and flash the latest SuperSu(v2.79). I'm afraid if this will cause a bootloop. Thank you.
Yes. No issues at all.
I've installed purenexus 6.0.1 last week, from stock 6.0.1 m4b30z build. Used twrp 3.1.0 and su 2.79. Had no problems what so ever.
Thanks for the reply. Stock rom is battery hog even on standby mode. What MM or nougat rom do you recommend? As there are plenty to choose from!

Nougat: EuclideanOS
Well, it depends what you're looking for.
For me, who wants stock experience with marginal customizations. I prefer PureNexus (6.0.1) or Euclidean rom (7.1.1).
Both of them are really good, but i'm currently running Purenexus 6.0.1 as it's more stable than Euclidean AT PRESENT.

Galaxy S7 Rom compatibility problems with new Lineage 15.1 based AOSP roms

I've had my S7 rooted and installed an S8 ported Rom and i wanted to try out the new oreo roms, but whenever I try to install them, it says that it isnt compatible, which lead me to think its because of my Ported S8 rom.... is there any truth to this? Or am i just doing something wrong?
Most ROM's only support installing from a previous version of their ROM, or from stock - to prevent bugs and firmware conflicts.. So yes your S8 port ROM is probably the cause.
Flash stock via Odin, then try Lineage again and you should be set.
Update your recovery
Hello,
I had the same problem. My TWRP was to old. I had a Version 3.1.x. An update to 3.2.x helped me out.
By the way, I'm on Resurrection Remise 6.0 and I love it. The only real problem ist the GPS.
Navigation is not working as expected. But that seems to be the case with all Oreo Roms.

[Resolved] Small question with regards to install order in LineageOS 14.1

Hello guys, I was following the T805 Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE LineageOS 14.1 guide and the guide has links for: Kernel Zip and Device Tree Zip, but they are not included in the "instructions/guide/how-to" section. Are these supposed to be installed as well? If not, why are they there for download, when the instructions clearly state to download all of the Zips.
Installs done so far post-root/unlocking bootloader in TWRP:
-LineageOS 14.1
-Gapps addon
-LineageOS addonSU
Should I consider the custom ROM flashing complete, or am I lacking some steps yet?
Well, you are pretty much done. Other than those zips can be flashed post-setup.

Could you tell me the importance of the Kernel and Device Tree zip files? Are there benefits of flashing these? Also the Kernel has a version 15.0 and 14.1 variant, is the 15.0 variant viable with the 14.1 OS? Does the order of the flash matter?
Well you need to flash the kernel after the rom, and the 15.1 version should not be compatible since it’s meant for a different version LineageOS.

The Kernel pre-installed with the ROM seems to be from 2018, whereas the 14.1 LineageOS kernel for Exynos was from 2017, anyone got input on this?

Offline charging not working on android 10 ROMs

Hi everyone, I installed different ROMs based on android 10 without custom kernel, but none of them have working offline charging. I'm on the latest firmware (11.0.3) with SuperiorOS installed. Is there anyone able to help me? Thank in advanced
I have test it by Derpfest Rom Official latest build.
It shows the Mi logo with unlocked picture. And than nothing.
I will think it's not in the Custom rom implemented.
Or the Feature is only with locked bootloader by xiaomi. This i have not tested with global rom without custom rom.

Is it possible that you make me a backup of your persist image over Orange Fox recovery? :fingers-crossed:
Mate! Try Corvus! I have it working... Or Even Carbon ROM 8
I have test under Corvus and it works great. It's the best rom that i have test now.
Thanks for the feedbacks, I'll try it soon?
On corvus you have to install custom kernel. Battery train by default kernel
Just wait for updates it will come in next update
