How I can uproot my A7 2018? - Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) Questions & Answers

Hello guys can I unroot my a7 2018 and go back to stock?

Just flash the original stock rom.

And become just like I buy it?

As far as I know we have integrated efuse, so once you root Knox is tripped. This means no more warranty in the most countries.
Even if you do unroot and restore the original software the whole motherboard needs to be replaced to make it like new one.

Exactly, but you lose your warranty of course.

This guys I try on it. But if I do this I can take OTA updates? And where I can find original stock rom?

I told you your device will return as it was in the day you got it in so you don't have to ask about every single detail. Yes, you will start receiving OTA updates once you unroot.
As for the stock rom, you can get it from here or here. Just enter your device name in the search box and select the firmware to download. It's about 3.14 GB in size by the way.

I bought the sony xperia Z a year ago. I didnot like the Sony version of android so I rooted the phone, unlocked the bootloader and installed AOKP and afterwards cyanogenmod. After one year I thought of moving back to sony's android version and installed it with sony flash tool. Now my Smartphone's bootloader is locked and it is not rooted.
Now I have speaker problem with my phone. I had the guarantee for 2 years, so I still have time. But will I still get the guarantee and get repaired for free.
Well the bootloader is relocked and its unroofed and has a pure stock firmware so it should be repairable. Just send it in and see where it goes.
All the best

Nope, your guarantee is broken.
Today I got my mobile back. They send back my mobile back. They said my guarantee is broken because I donot have original android ROM installed. I used the flashtool to install the original Android but they knew it, I did something with my mobile. :crying:

Well that's what you call bad luck, Anyway can you still retry to send it back? Or did the register all the devices sended to them.
First : Is your bootloader locked again? and did you fully unroot it instead of temp unroot?
Second : Is it the stock rom and not a rom that looks like a stock rom? Like a tweaked one.

First: yes bootloader is locked and the phone is unrooted.
Second: It is a stock ROM. I used the Flash tool from sony. I was even able to install the update from update manager from sony to android 4.3
Does the xperia Z have a flash counter? That could be what tipped them off.

Does tripping KNOX stop OTA updates?

I am rooted and looking to go back to stock by flashing the stock firmware using Odin on my G920F. However since KNOX is already tampered with and there's no way of resetting it, will I be able to receive OTA updates once I revert back to full stock? If not, is there a way for it to work?

Thank you for the reply, but one more thing, does flashing a specific firmware region may equal different updates? So if i flash the UK firmware, will I get the software updates for the UK phone? I know that sounds pretty dumb but I'm knew to Samsung coming from HTC.

Hi, I have never flashed a different region firmware before so I can't really comment on this sorry.
Tripping KNOX doesn't prevent OTA updates, as long as you flash back stock.
If your current ROM is rooted, this may prevent updates.

It will: Trip Knox, void your Warranty.
It will not: damage your battery, brick your device
Do not wipe data using Odin, known to cause problems, instead do a Factory reset/Wipe cache through recovery before/after flashing the new firmware.
I suggest, do an official OTA update or through Kies, if the new update is already available. If not then it's better you wait for the new update to be available for your device

I dont know how but the PIT file used by Samsung Service center, does not trip KNOX. The one found on the page you mentioned and on Sammobile although say official but they do trip KNOX. thereby voids your warranty.
Where are you from and What's your build number?

Even if we have the ota file, it can be flashed via AP section of Odin and would it void warranty ?

Most likely no because it's an update. But maybe it will be released as separate system installation with ODIN images. And flashing CUSTOM recovery (boot image too) will trip knox, flashing stock should be fine

I know that flashing custom recovery trips knox but will the beta image void the warranty ? I have flashed stock images using odin many times and never tripped knox but idk about beta images.
This ROM is only for India A750F and not for European A750FN so far.
I think as long as there is no European A750FN Pie version via Beta Programm, there won't be any flashable Roms as well !!!
If you have the pie update let us know if there is any improvement in the camera, cause right now it's a real let down. (Capture of any type of foliage turn into a color blob)
Can someone post this firmware for download?:fingers-crossed:
Yes

I asked samsung care and they said it would. They said even flashing stock firmwares using sammobile or etc, will void the warranty, i.e. any kind of flashing will. I think its a little odd that It would void it, but if they said then its possible. And all this is for India, I don't know about any other countries' policies.
Yes they say it but as long as your knox is not tripped (which wont trip if you flash stock firmwares) you will get the warranty as long as you didnt mess upduring flashing.

Correct , only if Knox is tripped Samsung can and actually will refuse to repair phones with warranty taking over costs.
In EU this is kind of behavior is not supported by the jurisdiction, but Samsung charges you for everything that is normally covered up by warranty anyway, if you have Knox tripped, means custom bootloader installed once.

If you modify your phone ( root ) you will loose the option to update ( OTA update ).
If you want to update you phone you will have to download firmware and flash with Odin. Everytime that you update firmware you will have to re-root you phone again.

Generally yes ( mainly with rooting )
You can backup your app/data by using something like Google backup service or smart switch ( PC app ).
Hey guys,
Hopefully I'm not requesteing a completely useless thing cause I haven't found a fix so far. Since it's somehow related to firmware flashing via Odin, I chose to ask in this thread.
I bought my Galaxy S8+ a while ago and carrier unlocked it (It was on Vodafone Romania). Ever since unlocking the carrier, I can't seem to receive any firmware updates for some reason.
Smart switch says I'm at the latest firmware version but according to Sammobile, I'm far from being at the last version. (Still Android 8 on it)
My phone is not rooted (I haven't felt the need to root it so far because it's been doing great). Any ideas how can I fix this and install the latest firmware?
If I download the latest Romania firmware from sammobile (carrier-free version) and flash it through Odin, would it work or I'd encounter a difference because the CSC is Vodafone Romania?
Thanks!
Hey is there a way to root the SM-G975U with security update on july 1, android pie, and a way to unroot? (like the stock rom files)
Thanks
