S7 G930F USB Data Problem - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi! My mother's S7 is not recognized by any PC right now. Before I order a new USB PCB I'd like to ask for some help here. The symptoms are:
- Charge and fast charge fully working
- Everything inside the phone is workin, not a single scratch
- When I plug in to any PC, no data mode transfer appears, neither under quick settings, just charging.
- Windows doesnt recognize anything when the phone plugged in, seen on device manager.

Did you install the Samsung USB drivers?

9 times out of 10 it is the USB port. This can be replaced by dismantling the phone and connection a new USB ribbon.
If you have tried this and ruled out the port, I had one where a dodgy charger had fried some components between the USB ribbon connector and the multiplexer IC. I had to replace components ZD8008, ZD8008, R8019 and R8020. These serve as input protection on the USB data lines.
Someone with microsoldering repair experience will be able to replace these for you. You be no more than 75 Euro. It does involve dismantling so may void warranty/water resistance.

I guessed so. Where can I find this components? Are they smds resistors, capacitors? I know microsoldering but does it deserve the effort? I mean, can I found a USB pcb replacement and just replace the whole piece?
Thank you very much!
EDIT: Like this one
EDIT2: I missunderstood your first line...I haven't already tried to replace the usb pcb. I think I'll try and if it doesn't work, well... I hope not -.-"

I draughted this reply before I saw your edit; sounds like you know what to do though: :good:
Sorry, it never occurred to me that you hadn't tried a new USB port flex yet. 9 times out of 10 it is that. Get one to try; fitting it is a pain because you have to separate the screen from the mid frame for the back/app button backlights but you can test it without removing the old one. They are very cheap and available on eBay etc.
If the new USB doesn't help, the fix is probably the microsolder repair I described above. Those components are in the main PCB so a USB daughterboard swap won't help.

HTC Sensation has stopped charging

My HTC Sensation, has stopped charging altogether. I took it off charging and when i put it on 10 min later, the LED didnt light up, so i got a toothpick and tried cleaning thecharging port just in case something tiny went in and was blocking it to charge, but that didnt work. The phone was working fine until the battery died and i still cant get it to charge. Now im wondering whats broken, to all those repair specialists out there, what could be broken? I can buy a charging port from ebay, but is that it? or could it be anything else.
I was looking to upgrade soon but was waiting for some christmas deals to pop up, but my phone decided to let me down.
Any help appreciated, thanks guys

Did you solved the problem by buying a new phone?, the problem could be the USB connector himself, if you are very handy you can repair it yourself...

maybe your battery died
I'm assuming you've got it fixed / moved on to a different phone / are using an external charger, but this thread got bumped to the top so I figured I'd chime in.
I had this problem as well. Unfortunately, the usb port is soldered on the board and not a separate unit attached via ribbon cable. The solder joint holding the port on the pcb cracked, resulting in a loose port. Over time, this lead to the pins breaking off the pcb. For a while, I was able to get it to charge by applying pressure to the usb plug. Finally, I took it apart and resoldered it, reinforcing the solder joints for the port itself. It's not too difficult if you use some flux. Just line up the pins and tack the port back on. Then rub flux over the pins and tack them with the soldering iron. No additional solder is needed or recommended-- the pins are in close proximity and it'd be easy to bridge them.

Broken Screen Connector

Hello.
I am in need of board-level repair for my XT926. The connector that the FFC ribbon cable from the LCD screen plugs into was damaged and is missing pins. It will probably need to be replaced.
I have called and searched and can find no repair company that will fix it. Even Motorola (as they will just send me a replacement).
I am worried about the data/pictures I have stored on the phone, so I would like to get this up and running.
Does anybody know of a shop that can do this? I know it isn't a "common" repair, but am willing to pay for it being done to save my data.
Thanks in advance...

It would require serious equipment (hot air soldering station with proper nozzles) and a new part, probably from another motherboard. It's by no means an easy fix.
But why don't you try this:
If the phone boots up, hook it up to a TV or monitor with a HDMI cable.
You should see your phone screen on the TV once it booted.
Connect a mouse with a USB OTG cable to the phone.
You can now either enable bluetooth, connect a bluetooth mouse, so you can free up the microUSB for connecting the phone to the PC to save all your data/pictures/etc.
Or you can leave the mouse connected through the USB and insert a microSD card into the phone to save your data there.

Golden battery holder wire is cut. Need to turn on for recovery

Hi guys. This is gonna sound awkward. I'm having issues in my personal life and I was talking on whatsapp with brother when I got angry and threw my nexus. the screen is broken like colors and stuff and lines so I tries to turn the phone off by touching where the power off button appears on screen butI couldn't.
since I was angry I removed the back cover and cut the golden wire at the bottom point where it turn. I've tried turning it on by holding the cut ends but no luck. tried charger too but nope. All I wanna do is get into recovery somehow (TWRP) and dump my internal storage.
Thank you.
After some thought about your description.... I wonder if you have actually cut the main ribbon cable from the microphone/speakers/USB assembly this is the one that runs down the side of your phone. your best bet will be to purchase another cable assembly.. since you are dealing with a multi conductor ribbon cable.
I really doubt that you will be able to repair and re-connect the cable without some pretty highly skilled soldering ability.
The battery cable is very short and comes directly out of the battery itself... it is not likely that you actually cut it but did cut the main circuit cable. Too Bad, but this will be a real problem for a repair.
no joy... but you might want to investigate a reputable repair shop.

Thanks so much for replying. Yes indeed I cut the ribbon cable. I'm in no position of buying a new one. I guess I'm gonna take it to someone with high soldering skill. Before that I'm gonna try tape too

Question: if this ribbon isn't battery wire then why the phone doesn't start

That ribbon cable is the one that interconnects the working boards in your phone, Microphone, Speakers, buttons. Unlike the battery cable you probably won't be able to fix it... it is pretty much a replacement only part.
this part is called -- LG Nexus 5 D820 D821 Charging Port Flex Cable Dock Connector USB Port With Mic Microphone Flex Cable Repair Part (amazon.com)
you will have to source a supplier close to you... but the good news is that it is relatively inexpensive... Ebay has it listed for $10USD or so.
not trying to be the bearer of bad tidings... but I've spent 20 odd years repairing computers and associated devices. It is always best if you don't cut ribbon cables.

Blu Pure XL Replaceable Parts? (USB Port)

Hello everyone, I've been looking for 2 days now on Parts for the Blu Pure XL (Gionee Elife E8) and I've came up with nothing...
I have a damaged USB Port and I know this cause I've tried every charger in my home and I've cracked it open to take a look and the prongs that connect it to the board are bent. If anyone could give me a source that sells Blu Pure XL parts that would be incredibly helpful!
Please reply URGENTLY.......

Just my thought, but aren't microUSB ports just... microUSB ports? It's not like the ports on different devices differs physically from others. You can use any microUSB cable on any phone with a microUSB port, can't you?
As for replacement parts, I'm not an expert on electronics (perhaps you're more knowledgeable than me), but can't you just swap in any new female microUSB port (or maybe even a USB Type C port, if you have the knowledge and if it fits)?
I'm not sure how the microUSB port is hooked up since I don't have the guts to open up my own Pure XL, but can't you unsolder/cut off your old port and solder in a new one (provided you have the knowledge)?
Possible Solution

MicroUSB ports are not just... MicroUSB ports, there are different types of pin variations (But all are 4 pins) to fit certain types of boards.
I never thought of actually replacing the USB Port. It might actually work, but I'm a little hesitant since I paid $350 for my phone.
Thank you for the reply back and I will try this. By the way, USB Type-C has 24 pins and a MicroUSB has 4; it's possible to use the USB-C, but Id only be able to charge my phone and it would take QC capability away from my phone. If anyone could direct me to the actual PCB Board with the USB and the Speakers for the Blu Pure XL that would be awesome! (Until then I guess this solution will have to do.)
Crude Solution, but works.
So what I did what get into my phone and remove the Non-Removable Battery, spliced an old microUSB cable and connected the Red & Black wires to the P+ & P- of the Lithium Ion Battery. Seems to charge the phone fast, bust remember to keep an eye on it and to not let it overheat... Here is a picture of the outcome: http://imgur.com/98Zolef

Having the same problem but for mine it seems like the metal connector on the outside protrudes whenever I plug a cable into the port... pretty loose by the looks of it.
Methinks I might see if BLU can fix it though.

They weren't able to fix it so they sent me a new Energy XL instead. Slightly inferior specs but battery is outstanding.
Also ported CM 12.1 rather easily to it. But yeah, you're either going to have to fix it yourself or get a replacement Energy XL (they might allow you to get a Pure XR as well, not sure.)
Not to dredge up a old thread; But I still need a charge board for my pure xl; I posted something months ago; and shelved the phone until recently; and I would love to find a source of parts for this.

Hate to bring up an old post but can anyone direct me to a "how to" on installing a new usb pcb? I've disassembled my phone and it seems the only solder point is the lower left hand portion.. I don't see any way of disconnecting otherwise. Ought I un-solder whatever it may be? or is there another method. Sorry btw.

I'll take some pics, but honestly if you cant tell the disconnection points (they are VERY obvious on this phone)
then maybe you should hand this repair off to someone more experienced...

So what is that big round thing the two wires are going to? My soldering skills aren't the greatest, so I want to make sure I'm not totally screwed if that's not connected.

All these boards seem to be out of stock
All the replacement USB pcba boards seem to be out of stock. I tried to purchase a USB port to replace the USB with but it's really difficult. Anyone know of a place I could buy the USB pcba board that has them in stock?
Replacement PCBA with USB
I also see it sold out at both Better deals and Blu phone parts.
I am asking (Allview) support in Europe but I don't hold much hope. Anyone else found these anywhere?
I bought mine in AliExpress but I think is out of stock. I found it as" Gionee s8 loud speaker "and the PCB from bluphoneparts

Charging Problem

So before my xz premium completely stopped charging my phone used to randomly stop charging and charged very slow I used quick charge 3.0 and certified usb c cable I had to put the usb type c cable in a certain position to get my phone charging but after a while it completely stopped charging I inspected the port it was fine no bent nor broken cleaned the port but it didn’t charge after sometime I started messing with the phone so I found a way to charge it when I put pressure on the bottom of the phone from front and rear of phone where usb port and flex cable is connected it starts charging but I have to put a lot of pressure to get it to charging I don’t know about hardware so I am here If someone can guide me ty.
Is the charge manager enabled?
In this case the manager try to think at which time you disconneythe the phone from charger and stopped after a while to continue in front of disconnect (or what he think at which time it is)
No the charge manager or (Battery Care) is not enabled but I opened the device myself because I thought it might be a loose connection of charging port's flex cable but it was connected to the motherboard fine but the situation was the same I pressed the flex cable where it connects to the motherboard and the phone started charging I think it's some sort of motherboard problem as it happened with some other xz premium users as well.
P.S:Replacing the charging port didn't fixed the problem.
Hello,
I had a similar problem.
At first it only carried in certain positions or pressing the region where the flat connection. After 1 months it stopped completely.
My problem was in the motherboard charge connector, I needed to buy a new connector to replace with solder. After 30 days, everything continues to function normally.

Thank you very much that's the answer I was looking for one more thing can you guide where to buy the connecter for the motherboard and can you tell me how did you manage to replace it.
Update I just got mine fixed the btb connecter for the charging port on the motherboard was loose it needed to be resoldered in case it is more damaged you should get a new btb connecter I'll put the link to buy from link: https://rounded.com/sony-board-connector-btb-socket-2x10pin-1306-0093.html
can u guide me how to do it?
If u know any trusted and skilled repair person just tell him what the problem is and make sure the repair person fix it the right way as described otherwise he might end up damaging ur phone.

Changing the port won't fix the issue it can only be resolved if u change the btb connector on the motherboard.
Anyone knowing how to do it?
Hi. Stripped phone down and removed old BtB connector. How do you solder the new part to the motherboard. Is it just the four corners you solder or do all x10 pins on each side need to be soldered?
Can somebody who has changed a BtB put a step by step guide if poss?

ok update i've been trying to repair it/solder it in a couple 3rd repair (because there's no sony xperia service center here in indonesia..) and they say they can't, then i wen't to this repair shop (this one looks not promising) then i got a message after 3 day they say they can't repair it, i was hopeless, i left my phone there.., and after 1 and a half month i think, i finally went to get my phone, and when i arrives to get my phone they charge me 15$, in my head i was thinking "why they charge me? they didn't even fix it"
then the repair man said "we fix it" i was shock they didn't even message me and said it was fixed (they have to) so i pay the 15$ and check the phone its completely normal it's charging the fast charge work, but.. they reinstalled everything (factory reset) kinda strange.. but it's find ok so that's it
