Hey, I have an Audi A3 2012, equipped with a Wondefoo PX5 head unit aswell as a canbus decoder.
Before installing a reverse camera, everytime i switched to reverse it automatically went to "Reverse Mode" And AVIN.apk popped out (even though it was just stating "No signal" - because no camera was installed).
I have installed a reverse camera, gave it 12V and connected the RCA cable directly to the "CCD AVIN" input from the HeadUnit - without connecting the red power cable from the RCA cable to anything. (It recognised reverse automatically via the canbus i guess).
Everything worked great for I think 4 months, and this week without any notice, when i switched to reverse simply nothing happaned.
Since then the headunit simply won't automatically go to reverse mode.
Nothing was changed, so I have no clue what to do..
Someone who expirienced something like this? The CanBus decoder still works great except the reverse mode (as if it's unplugged the system won't start on because it doesn't get any signal that the ACC is on without the decoder).
This is the HeadUnit I have, with Android 8.0 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal memory: https://he.aliexpress.com/item/Andr...215.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dT5D6nS
Anyone?
Hi,
Did you find a solution? I'm having the same problem

I have an Enonon G2110 with android 4.2. It has RK3066 1.6Ghz cortex A9 Dual core, DDR3 1GB. I am overall happy with the unit but I do have a couple questions for you all with this stereo.
1, The SWC controls randomly stop working and will stay not working until I reboot the unit. It is hooked up using the SWC1 wire through the SWC board on my steering wheel and hooked back to ground. It is the resistance type where every button has a different resistance. It programs correctly in the SWC program on the unit. I also have the canbus set to none in the "factory settings" area.
Any fix for this?
2, Bluetooth. When connected to my phone (LG G3) and making or receiving a phone call, the volume is super low through the unit. I have the unit hooked up using RCAs only through an amp in my car. The bluetooth connection for music works fine and is the correct volume. Is there anyway to turn up this volume on the unit? Or another program for bluetooth connection?
Also I can't get my PLX devices bluetooth KIWI to connect to this unit. I have the program TORQUE to obd2 monitoring. Not sure if its just an issue with the bluetooth program or something I am missing. The KIWI connects and works fine on my G3.
3, Screen flicker. My car has auto headlights. I have the headlight input wire hooked to the unit to change the brightness depending on day/night. When it switches modes from day to night the screen flickers for about 3 seconds. Is this normal? Any fix for this?
4, Google services stopped error. If i happen to kill the car and have to restart the engine, the unit says shutting down and the screen turns off for a moment and then back on. When it comes back on the error "google services has stopped" and I hit OK. Is there away around this? (besides not killing the car of course) It's not a big issue or anything but its something I have noticed.
I tired asking these questions on someones post but it got lost in the shuffle. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
Hello,
I've got MTCE unit (PX3) that I'm trying to install into Toyota truck. I've had another unit in previously and it had a reversing camera that was activated when the reverse was engaged by a dedicated wire in a harness. I've connected my camera to Video-In connector (H-5 on the attached harness). I can see video fine if I run AVID application, so this is working. What is not working is automatic engagement when I put the car in the reverse.
I can't seems to find a dedicated reverse signal. I understand that it may detect reverse through CanBus and I've connected included CanBus decoder to the unit, however it still doesn't work.
Am I missing something and what would the recommended troubleshooting suggestions?
Hi,
You are doing it wrong. You should not connect the video signal to Video IN of the unit. This way - the picture will show only when you launch the AVIN application. You should connect it to the CAMERA or REVERSE labeled plug. What is the G plug for ? Is it for a reverse camera or Car DVR ?
You can power up the camera (+12V and GND) from the white reverse light.
Thanks for the reply, however I can't sadly see any REVERSE or CAMERA labeled connectors on my unit. Plug G has microphone cable and that is it (see attached). Plug H has also a connector labeled DR-V and main connector has something labeled CCD-IN. I've tried plugging my camera to these connectors and sadly none of them seems to show camera feed when the reverse is engaged. Any other ideas on how I can get camera to work?

When you bought it, was it advertised as having this capability? If so, I'd try to get a refund. Mine (and most others that I've seen) that have reverse functionality have a dedicated video in line that's labeled as such.
See K 5 and 6.

Yes, the unit has reversing camera as an option and sadly the seller is less then helpful in resolving this issue. Having looked on the forums I can see that even when the camera is not connected the head unit should switch to black screen when reverse is engaged. In my case it doesn't do that. Does it mean that something is not working with CAN bus decoder? I've looked through factory settings and tried all options available for my car manufacturer and sadly they didn't make any difference.
Is there a way to test CAN bus decoder to see if it is working at all or not?
I have a reversing camera problem albeit a different one, that's been worse today. Sometimes after I finish reversing the camera image stays on the screen, frozen. I don't know if something's wrong with the reverse detection input or the camera video signal. I've had this with other units of the same model (KSP) or at least they were also MTCD PX5. My thought is to play with the resistances to the MCU. For now if I reboot it's back to normal.

Your reverse camera should go to the main power connector 5th pin(CAM-IN) and reverse trigger line should go to 6th pin(CAM-LINE).
Ideally your main power connector should have yellow video in connector which connects ground and 5th pin.

You've just made my day. This was exactly the solution to my issue. The wires were connected to some strange connector, however after I've rewired it to my camera everything started working just fine.
Thanks a lot for your help.
hello
I have exact same issue, with wireless camera connector , have yellow connector to ccd in and nothing changes maybe somebody could draw scheme how to connect to head unit , have same connector.
Hey, i have a wondefoo PX-5 Android Headunit 8.0, everything was working great but someday suddendly the WIFI didn't turn on (when turning the car on).
Since then, every now and then the WIFI won't turn on after the car was shut down, the problem is solved only if I restart the HeadUnit several times until the WIFI will come on.
I tried searching online but didn't find a problem as close to mine.. The WIFI does work but as I said only if I restart the HeadUnit.
When it's not working i just try to "flick" the switch from the OFF to ON position and it automatically returns to OFF (won't stay on the ON position for even a second).
Looking forward for your help,
Thanks, in advanced.
Same problem
I have a Dicola android 8.0 PX5 4GB/32GB head unit for my Audi A3.
I have the same problem as you discribe. The seller advised me to update the device but that had no effect.
I saw on Google more problems with those PX5 units. I seems to be the Wifi/BT module what causses the defect. Especially the low tempeture could cuase the defect. Not sure if this is the case but you are not the only one.
Hi MTCD community.
Thanks to the time between the years (that's how we call December 27th to 31st in Germany), I had time to upgrade my HU. Up to now I had a RK3188 quad-A9 one (Erisin ES2508B, KGL) that had a proprietary power connector and a external canbus decoder box. (more information here: http://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBay...descgauge=1&cspheader=1&oneClk=1&secureDesc=0 )
That external canbus decoder of the unit has a few dedicated output pins for illumination, reverse gear and a UART (?) style digital RX/TX connection to send wheel-button key commands. It's a perfect example for a Chinese product. This solution it easy and works - almost:
On Mercedes cars the wheel-buttons are used to steer the so called Kombi (KI). KI and HU are connected via canbus. Key commands are send in one specific can-message. The canbus decoder box is said being made specifically for Mercedes cars. While it correctly decodes button presses it fails to decode the current KI menu. As a result the HU will always interpret the "prev./next" buttons, even when you're not in the KI's Audio menu. As a result you either stop using your KI (bad option) or you disable some keys in the HU (that's what I did). The decoder box is also only reading the canbus and thus not able to send audio titles or the current radio frequency/station name to the KI.
Because of the decoder box sitting between HU and KI I never tried to enhance functionality because that would have ment either connecting another R/W canbus dongle to the HU or replacing the chinese decoder box and reverse engineering the RX/TX communication between decoder box and HU.
---
The newer PX5 unit that I now own (Erisin ES7689C, KGL?/LM?, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Android-8...s-W203-W209-/123151147422?hash=item1cac61619e ) has a Quadlock connector (that's the correct name for the multi pin connector that became popular on HUs beginning in the early 2000th) and no external canbus decoder box (it is indeed perfectly plug'n'play). It is also able to identify itself to the KI as Radio which means it is also writing to the canbus. Compared to an original OEM HU, information is still extremely limited and it again fails to interpret only wheel-button commands send from the KI's Audio menu. - But, it is able to write to the canbus, so potentially this is a much better starting point for enhancements.
Now the key question: Does anyone know how the HU is communicating with the canbus? Is the decoder box just inside the HU's housing (and again being an extra translation module) or is it a proper canbus device controlled by an app or service from inside the HUs android?
Good piece of info mate. Thanks a lot
Unfortunately i am not able to answer the question due to limited knowledge.
I own a Mercedes w164 and have the same issues and i am keen to find a solution. Open a thread for that too here > https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...t/adapter-help-mercedes-t3903165#post79005544
My MTCD idetails are :
Unit: MTCD PX5
MCU: MTCE_GS_V3.00_3
ROM: Halk9 Mod 3.1 (Android 8)
Can Adapter : GS 10280514 / HW:V2 SW:V3
Can adapter Setting: 23 Benz_B200(simple)
On another thread more HW related you can find pleanty of info >

Also this guy did some work on canbus : http://honeysw.com/canproject.php
and here another piece of info : https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...-units-qa/how-bus-messages-make-unit-t3352343
Hi I also have a MB lol, a w203.
I have been through several head units of types makes etc, so know exactly what you mean. Although I never heard of 'ki' before.
My latest unit I have is def very good (best was a pioneer with separate car-pi can decoder) and that is also an erisin.
Great minds an all that eh!
The unit I have is a 4/32gb android 8. MTCE. It was working very well until I developed a problem with my reverse camera signal not getting picked up. Was switching OK but no image??
Anyway I bit the bullet and installed the custom rom by Malaysk which helps the camera but no steering control (for me) on 3rd party apps.
There is some talk about mtce files etc but I couldnt get anything to work until I installed a brilliant prog called mtcdtools (free from github).
Very techy to understand / use but with the info and help from others managed to replicate enough to get the two up/down left buttons working perfectly on all apps. It starts up by itself and stays in background. I'm very pleased with result and sure it could do much more if i only knew how. Def give it a go.
Also the up/downs only while in the audio sub menu and they operate whichever music app is running even while in the background if that makes sense. The right volume buttons always worked anyway, and with the phone.
I think the real challenge now will be getting info in the dash display to correspond with what ever app is on top. Currently mine just says audio off when using dab, but displays station number in radio and time elapsed from music player., but nothing from nav.
Hi All,
I need to find some info for the Can adapter so i can fix my issue and help other people with similar problems too .Owner of an MTCD PX5 unit, specific for Mercedes ML (W164) that came with the Can adapter.
From day one the steer wheel buttons worked (vol up/down, phone) and reverse camera out of the box BUT i had no vehicle info at all (door opened, fuel level, temperature, parking sensors etc) as many of the users especially on VW units have. The car is a 2010 model therefore the canbus info should be plenty. Tried all the combinations of CanBus under the extra settings with no luck.
One think i noticed is that i had NO Vehicle.apk or microntek apk and MTCCanbus.apk installed on the unit. I tried to install but installation was failing for both. Even copying to system/app/** didn't worked.
Any idea ?
BTW Anyone knows what is the Knob Mode under extra settings ? Mine is set to : 2 10k/20K ADC Ports

Hi, i have the same car the same headunit and the same problem.
All is fine but i want to have more can-informations/functions.

Good to know that this is a generic issue and not specific to my unit and car. It seems a lot of people with Mercedes cars have similar problems. I wonder if this is related with the cheap implementation of the Chinese Can adapters or related with the car.
Will keep searching
Another thread is open with more technical details for similar issue, more HW oriented though here > https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcd-discussion-questions-development
I have the same car w164 and px5 android 8
The same problem.
No I have more problems the canbas stop working no reverse camera no Wheel key vol working and no led light on unit key, I think my canbus dead ?
