Hey XDA folks, today I've flashed oreo in l09c10b521 using TWRP and HuRupdater. In this process I've flashed HuRupdate.zip then all three files got flashed, unfortunately I formated data partition and rebooted. After reboot, phone didn't booted until I perform factory reset in stock recovery. Finally phone booted up but no Setup Wizard, no Gapps, only filemanger and some emui apps.
In Dev options OEM unlock option is faded/greyed out. Unable to flash anything in ADB
>> Is there any way so that I can go back to Nougat and use Gapps <<
If its not possible then how can I install Gapps?

Similar here with some differences. FRP-Locked, Phone unlocked, TWRP previously installed. I Can't install stock recovery because FRP locked. No Gapps, no keyboard, just some Huawei apps. OEM Unlock is grey, but bootloader unlocked.
The same happened to me, this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/development/firmware-huawei-honor-8-frd-l09-stock-t3696921 helped to rollback and everything works fine .

I've tried dloading vendor(update hw_ru.img) but it failed, then I tried main(update.app) firmware then also failed.

Same here.
First you have to dload the main firmware file, then the renamed vendor.

When you try this method, the bootloader and phone (FRP) in locked state? Or Bootloader unlocked?
My phone is just booting just to Stock recovery, eRecovery or fastboot, but the "OS" won't boot. If I restart, or power on my phone just boot to eRecevery. Now in the fastboot mode the bootloader and FRP in locked state.
All software install failed.
No luck over 5-6 hours. All firmwares I want to flash ended "Software installation failed". In FF I find a B407 rollback package from Oreo, but its still not approved yet
same here, does anyone know how to fix it?

Same? Won't booting and just recovery, erecovery or fastboot come up, frp and bootloader locked? Oh, and no luck for flashing any firmware?
I'm affraid, just the B407 rollback package bring back to life, but still not approved yet.

actually it boots, but i have an emui without google apps, and a greyed oem unlocking option, so i can't unlock
i ve same issue, frp and bootloader locked. all firmware stop at 5% no gapps and greyed oem setting (c10b521)
I do not know how to find the "magic" firmware that does not fail...
should you understand based on which criterion is installed the firmware, recovery version? version of the system? I have no idea
For locked FRP, you can relock the bootloader and after that unlock again. It unlocks the FRP again. Just write "relock" instead of "unlock".
And about the "not approved" packages, seems that Hurupdater doesn't care, it just installs.
But for some magic firmware, just download some way older firmware for dload installation. For me that always works on my L09C432, is 360.

Ok. Just one problem occured for Me: I do a bootloader relock, and this ended a not bootable OS, Relocked Bootloader and locked FRP. Just boot to eRecovery.

Just one problem with this: 360 is not a rollback package, so if you want to refresh (back) to this, just show You an "Installation Failed" message, and nothing more. So 360 just works if you want to refresh from a lower Nougat or MarsMallow build, or "rollback" from a higher build Nougat firmware.

You relocked, then unlocked, and it didn't unlock? Strange. I know atleast that the same unlock/relock commands work with nougat and oreo. I've done it a few times.
360 is a full package(FULLOTA-MF-PV) for my model. Other models have different package numbers.
You need to have a full package. Make a folder "dload" on root of an SD-card, with "update.app"-file in it. I have also the "meta-inf" and "full_mainpkg.tag" there, but i don't know if they are really needed. Then just boot the phone with power+volup+voldown and it should install.
No. I relocked the bootloader, but after that and the "automatic" factory reset the phone not boot to the os, just to the erecovery. So i can not change the "OEM unlock" option to unlock again the bootloader.
The install. I'l know the install method, but not work. Any package what 8 want to install ended (after 5%) a "software install failed". Ok. The 360 PV package is a good one, but this package not work, if you want to roll back from a higher master version, like oreo. This package just work if you in nougat, or MM.

Yes, but it s needed flash recovery patched first...
As long as it boots, yes you can repair. You must ask someone with frp UNLOCK to back up partition 'FRP'. Then they send this partition and you flash it (requires root) and now FRP is good in bootloader.
Sent from my kminiltexx using XDA Labs

The device starts, but how do I flash the frp partition without root?
Hi.
First: Sorry My bad English.
So. The base is: FRD-L09C432 officially upgraded to Oreo. Data partition encrypted, bootloader and FRP unlocked status, TWRP installed and my phone rooted with Magisk. After some read in this and other forums I edited the phone fstab files, to delete data encryption. After edit this files I do a "Format Data" in TWRP. After that the FRP status changed from "Unlocked" to "Locked", and in Settings the "OEM Unlock" disabled and grayed. Bootloader status stay in unlocked. So this is the current state. The Recovery not changeable from TWRP to stock, because FRP-Lock status.
So, My questions is: How do I unlock FRP? If I rollback to Nougat, the FRP is unlock or not, or what? How do I rollback with TWRP? HurUpdater? What can I do, because if I rollback and FRP stay locked, I won't flash back the TWRP. And if this occur, I can't root my phone, and have other problems.
Ideas?

bootloader already unlocked. I won't try to relock, because 1 months ago I relocked, and my phone is bricked. Won't boot to system, and just DC-Unlocker helps to bring back my phone to life.
Good to know. I am also bricked but I was able to unlock bootloader via fastboot. I only have access to error mode.
flash via download mode and wifi
Hey what's up.
Having issues and want to start from scratch but the MSM download tool isn't working for me due to driver issues I can't seem to resolve.
I'm unlocked and rooted with a custom kernel but otherwise totally stock.
Would I be able to just fastboot flash the stock boot.img and relock the bootloader for a total data wipe? Would that be enough to start fresh?
Go into magisk. Click uninstall. Click restore images. Your images should have been backup by the app. Reboot and reset from reset option in phone. No need to relock.
Thanks. Is that as good as the MSM tool as data wipes go? Want to get as fresh as I possibly can without MSM...

Boot to fastboot,
Code:
fastboot -w
what is the best way to relock the bootloader from Rooted( Magisk) and unlocked bootloader ? I did fastboot lock last time, I guess it locked successfully but refused to boot. Had to use msm to unbrick. Could you suggest best practice for Locking the bootloader again from rooted stock ?

You can't lock the bootloader while rooted. Your patched boot fails startup checks. The only phone i remember that you could root and relock was the oneplus one. There was a software hack to do a soft bootloader lock/unlock without wiping the data.
To expand on that, if you modified any locked partitions and try to relock the bootloader, you'll essentially soft brick. The only thing you can modify is I believe is userdata. If you are unsure, why take the chance, especially since your MSM isn't working.
Just do a factory reset from recovery lol or use fastboot
Recently rooted my new Zenfone 7. Is it possible to remove Bootloader unlocked Warning message at the start up of the system? Thanks for an answer.
re-lock the bootloader
Boot into fastboot, then send this command from your pc.
fastboot oem asus-lock
how did you get root to work? I followed the instructions listed and it would not work for me.
I followed the instructions there: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-official-twrp-for-asus-zenfone-7-series.4161719/ in fastboot mode you should update android drivers manually through device manager to get it work otherwise you'll get " waiting on device " error and it won't flash TWRP.
Is it possible to remove Bootloader unlocked warning without re-locking device though?

Getting TWRP on and working was fine. It was when I went and tried to flash Magisk that it kept causing a bootloop.

Why? Unless you plan on overwriting TWRP, there is no benefit to having it unlocked all the time. TWRP will still work after it is re-locked. and you can unlock it again via the app anytime you need to update.
