After the latest update (FRD AL10 8.0.0.538) the Phone Manager app keeps displaying a security alert message on the notification panel. This notification says that Google is using the mic, which is normal. I do like this kind of transparency, but it's annoying. My question is: how can I dismiss it or give an app exception so it doesn't keep on the notification panel.

in nougat, you could set app priority for notifications, but of course Google in all its wisdom completely removed a feature to turn off a "feature" that so many of us can't stand. if you disable heads up via adb, it ruins the ambient display in that it won't light up when a message comes through anymore... don't ask me why, but Google is full of morons coding nowadays. anyone have any idea?

First time in android lollipop devices introduces heads up (Peeking) notification feature. When enable this feature, you can see notification on home screen. In android Oreo, you can also reply from home screen without open app. In android 8.1 Oreo devices, you can disable interruptions of app if you don’t want to show pop up notifications on screen, sound and vibrate when receive any app notification. Different android device has slightly different settings to turn off peeking notification in android 8.0 and 8.1 Oreo. Also disable heads up notifications on android Oreo 8.1

I'm planning to buy a Huawei or an Honor phone in the near future with EMUI v8 pre-installed. For people who use this version of EMUI, I wanna ask if notifications from different apps (whatsapp, fb, ...etc) are received without any issues? OR I'll have to fiddle around in the settings to white-list apps from strict battery savings restrictions?
Without action no good notification. U have to change setting in battery and notification settings
On my Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design I don't have any problems with notification. The default setting excludes all apps from power management, so no probs.

When you upgrade to Oreo, shouldn't Oreo alone be enough to do the power management?! I've read that Oreo has built in feature(s) to throttle background activities so I"m wondering why Huawei didn't remove their power management lines of code from EMUI v8 (which is currently present on their Mate 10 devices) and leave the task to the OS to do the thing more efficiently?!
My Mate 9 by default will beep for notifications, pulse the notification light and display an icon in the notification bar. However, notifications do not peep by default (pop up) or turn on the screen. Enabling the peep appears to need to be done on each app individually.
Allowing all notifications to turn on the screen is a one click for all process with the option to manage each app individually.
With regards to power management, none of the apps are affected by this by default.
All the above are in the Notification & status bar section of settings.

It's driving me nuts that there is always this one notification that I cant disable.
I'm running Android 8.0.0 on the G8141 and I'm pretty sure that on previous android versions there was only a small icon at the very top right of the screen that indicated when do not disturb was on. Why is there now this huge notification?
And no, i cant disable the notification in the notification settings (Notifications of System UI) as its forced to stay on and i already set all categories to Importance Low.
With Root access, I'm willing to go to any length to get rid of this notification.
Hey, I'm having the same issue, did you find a wway?
Howdy! I have brand new OnePlus Nord 5G (Android 11) and already having problems with it. When I don't use it for longer time (30 min or more) and someone sends me a message on Messenger, then it doesn't trigger notification - no sound, no vibration, no notification on status bar. I only see notification for new message when I manually run the Messenger app. It looks like the system is killing background activity for the app. Battery is charged and I have battery saving disabled. I already followed this guide on how to disable battery optimizations for whole system and for Messenger https://dontkillmyapp.com/oneplus but it didn't change anything. It's very annoying and makes the smartphone unusable. Any advices? Thanks.
Nevermind, notifications issues are very common for OnePlus smartphones: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oneplus-nord-no-notifications-calls-from-apps.1277927/page-12
I returned it to the store.
Hello,
I'm currently having an issue with notifications on my OPPO A53 phone, after the v11.1 ColorOS / Android 11 update.
The problem is that I can't see the notification bubbles from Whatsapp nor any other app anymore, in the status bar, while the lock screen is on.
I've tried every possible combination of settings I could think of, but they still fail to show. Whatsapp has all the permissions and notification settings activated too. If the option "Wake screen when a notification is received" is activated, the screen does wake up (lock screen is on), but nothing is shown in the status bar.
Also, is there any way to change the color of the black semi-transparent background that appears when you pull down the notifications' drawer? I don't believe it was like this in the previous version (think it was fully transparent), and honestly I don't like the "new" one.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
I updated to ColorOS 11 and my notifications works fine.
but have you encountered a problem with refresh rate?. mine is randomly changed to 60hz even though i set it to 90hz and on the same app.

Nope, the refresh rate is at 90 for me (just checked the settings).
These are the steps to reproduce the notifications' bug:
1. Open/unlock your phone.
2. Receive a whatsapp message from anyone
3. Check that you do see the bubble in the status bar since the phone is open
4. Press the power button to lock your phone
5. Press the power button to unlock your phone
6. Check the screen/status bar -> there is no bubble nor any other notification related to that unread whatsapp message.
