will wireless android auto work on rooted pixel 3? - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

I have a Kenwood stereo that supports wireless AA. It's a bit buggy bug works most of the time haha.
I'm considering rooting my phone but wondering if that would affect the ability to use wireless AA?? Can anyone confirm that it still works after rooting??
TIA!!

Android Auto works on my rooted 3XL and Hyundai Ioniq (Infinity audio) with Bluetooth.

great to hear!!

Just to clarify, I think OP is talking about Android Auto without a USB cable, not sure if that's the same as the bluetooth connection. I was under the impression that wireless AA uses WIFI?

You are correct, I'm talking about wireless AA not just using bluetooth

Good to know. I am definitely on BT, but all of my voice functionality is there so that's enough for me.

[Q] Bluetooth a2dp autoconnect

Does anyone know of a bluetooth a2dp gateway that auto-pairs with the N1 when power up?
I've tried Sony and Belkin and heard that the Blackberry gateway all fail to do so (although on the Droid forums some people say the Blackberry does auto-pair).
I had a similar and short lived thread in Q&A, sorry for the 2nd attempt!
I tried at least 4 product from stereo headset to car adapter. I find that nexus requires that the device to support HSP for the auto-connect to work.
I only wish that someone could implement custom media streaming over bluetooth for the rest of us.
look for a device with the following profiles HSP/A2DP/AVRCP.
I'm currently using Kensington LiquidAUX K33428 Bluetooth and it works great. It auto-connects 95% of the time.

Thanks for the quick reply.
How does the audio quality compare to the others that you tried. Does the Kensington support A2DP only? I don't want it taking all my phone calls as well.
The Blackberry definitely does not auto-connect, at least with my Nexus One. The strange thing is, it auto-connects with my Palm Pre Plus every time.
It's one of the most annoying things to me about the Nexus, opening up Bluetooth Settings and having to manually connect to it every time I get in the car is actually a pain, compared to the Palm where I just get in and it's connected.
I was actually wondering if there was an app or some kind of service I could start up that would auto-connect to bluetooth devices. Does anyone know of anything like that?
I'm using a Samsung WEP870. Works just fine with my Nexus One. I am running CM6 RC3 on it, nothing other than that.
I use the Bluetooth A2DP for listening all day to podcasts & other media.
As soon as I place the headset on and power it up, it connects to the Nexus One. No problems.
I have a Sony BT5100 car radio and with stock android (or any non sense android rom) the phone automatically connected to the radio. I guess the later Sony models will be doing the same.

I think the S1 only plays music through its own speaker. Can it output to the car through aux?

As far as I know android doesn't allow for anything other than manual pairing when it comes to non HSP (headset profile) devices. I read this on their documentation page.

Lame.
What happened to it being an 'Open' OS? Seems like something an application should be able to fix.

Pixel USB-C Earbuds not working on OP6

Curious if anyone else has procured the new Pixel USB-C earbuds and tried them on a OP6 and/or OP5/5T. They are suppose to work on ANY PHONE running Android P....I am running the Android P Beta 5 on my OP6 and the phone doesn't seem to recognize that the headphone are plugged in AT ALL.... nada, nothing.

Someone on the OP forum just hipped me to turn on OTG setting....and now they work like a charm....though maybe I'll have to reactive this setting each time as it supposedly turns off after 10 minutes which will be a pain.
And pleasantly surprised to find out the BASS kicks on these things...as all the other reviews I have seen out there say they lacked such.
You need to activate OTG in the settings get them working.
Hey,
I also got these buds for my OP6. They work fine and I also enabled always on for the OTG option. But the music control (pause, start, skip, google assistant) are not working at all.
Volume UP and DOWN are working fine.
Any suggestions?

Nope. But when I activated OTG for the 1st time it did step me through a set up menu for the headphone. And again I am on Beta 5.
Maybe because the op6 have usb 2 and pixel have 3.1?

Naw. It is suppose to work on all phones with USB C and Android P regardless of port version. Hopefully OP will get rid of the need to activate the OTG setting since the OP6T won't even have a headphone jack.

Theory:
The OP6T gets Usb-C headphones and maybe the handling of Usb-C headphones is already shipped to user within the beta versions.
I can't imagine OP lets its users always reenable the otg option when they remove the headphone jack and develop their own usb-c headphones.
I can#t verify this at the moment maybe someone else can?
So today I tried the OP6T USB-C adapter on my OP6 and nothing. Wasn't even detected. I didn't try turning on OTG but come on, I can't believe this isn't supported with Android 9 out of the box. Of course it works on the OP6T fine.

You will have to turn on the OTG until they update the firmware.
Hi guys, I'm on op6 with oxygen 9.0.2 and I would like to use USB c port because jack output is not that good at quality, in my opinion. I tried with enabling otg in the notification bar, but I really can't make my USB c headphones work! Is there anything else I have to do? Thanks

Yeah right that. But that didn't do the trick...headphones still not detected I'm using Sony Wh-Ch700n with USB c adapter. They work fine on mi Mix 2 (and there audio quality looks far better to me) than on OP6 using 3,5mm jack. That's why I would like to try USB c port...

Hmmm. I never tried an adapter on my OP6. Just the Pixel Buds. My daughter has my old OP6 now...otherwise I would try the adapter I just got for a friend as it works on my OP6T. I do know some adapters only work on certain phones. This is the adapter I bought (it list OnePlus)

Yeah, works fine
The original cable is flexible and can easily be moved out of the way. As Mackay said, no issue. To be clear, I couldn't get my device to work with a Google pixel adapter cable, the Xiaomi provided one works.

yes, especially with MIUI, they have pre-configured EQ settings for the wired headsets.
but not with BT. i just hope MIUI is open to do this in the near future, to have EQ settings for BT.
without installing 3rd party apps

Can't slide it with my Baseus adapter or Ugreen cable, but the oem cable works fine.

Apple USB-C Headphone Adapter Working?

Is this adapter working for anyone. I can't seem to get it to work on my 7 Pro (I've tested it on other devices and can confirm that the adapter itself does work). Some Googling suggests it works on the 6T, so I would expect it to work on the 7 as well.

The only option I see here is OTA storage; is this the one you're talking about? It also says it automatically turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity. Makes sense for storage, but seems annoying to have to activate this every time I want to use headphones.

OnePlus is using a passive solution E.g the DAC is inside the phone and not the dongle so you need a dongle without a DAC inside.
Shame their is no Standard with Type C for Audio for OEM's to follow too much fragmentation in the cables/dongles..

Agreed. Another OP7 Pro user here trying to use the apple adapter and no luck. So @OcazPrime, this is working for you? Is this a hit and miss issue?
I ordered an Apple headphone jack adapter and I also had no luck. Can't get the adapter to work, with or without otg enabled.

Dasaita PX6 and iPhone 12 iOS 14.2 (not beta)

I have an iPhone 12 and an Apple Watch 6 connected to each other and I have a Dasaita PX6 head unit and I’m having a heck of a time trying to get it all to work properly.
The iPhone and watch are connected just fine, no issues. The phone will connect to the head unit but then once I can finally get it to connect to wireless CarPlay, the CarPlay stays in offline mode. I’m connected to the HU’s Bluetooth and to the mobile hotspot. But it’s like my phone won’t use the LTE data once it’s connected. My phone shows signal strength, it indicates that there is a signal but I don’t know what else to do. Can anyone help?
There is a solution to your problem. I already read it somewhere, just don‘t know where exactly. It had something to do with the iphone wifi settings...

I don't believe Apple will allow wireless car play and wifi at the same time. Try WIRED carplay and see if that makes a difference.
