Google Assistant connection problems - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

I've been having issues with Google Assistant:
Code:
Can't reach Google at the moment.
Anybody else with this problem? It seems to only work when Google is fully in the foreground.
- 9.0.3
- Magisk v18

GMS doze magisk module?

For anyone coming across this post. My issue was because the microphone was being tied up with ProjectM live wallpaper. Turning off the microphone audio setting in the ProjectM app solved the issue.

[BUG FIX] Google Now Not Working - How I Fixed It ** NOT mic levels **

I know I am not alone here. The OPO just did not work well with Google Now. I realized two things fairly quickly, on my device...
1 - All voice commands were heard and worked very well, with the exception of saying "OK GOOGLE."
2 - The Google app was different. I came from a Nexus 5 and the Google Now apk when opened, if you scrolled to the bottom, the menu for settings was in the bottom right. That was absent on the OPO version - and I had to go to Google Settings to edit the "OK GOOGLE" recognition / any screen feature.
So... clearly not a hardware issue, which made me feel a lot better.
I then decided to abandon CM11S (4.4.2... with bugs) for a ROM like SlimKat (4.4.4). I also flashed their full GAPPS package.
Low and behold, Google Now worked PERFECTLY. No issues. And wouldn't you know, the settings were at the bottom of the Google Now app. I am uncertain the two build numbers, but I would have to assume one could just replace the Google apk and have some resolution for the "OK GOOGLE" not working.
Below is a video of what I was experiencing on CM11S. Now, this video is making my OPO activate Google Now, just having the video play. Hysterical.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Is everyone having problems with ok Google? I have no problems with it on any of my opo and I was thinking is was because I have a deep voice but it works for my wife as well. We both say ok Google as if we were speaking to someone standing in front of us.
All 3 phones are stock by the way.
Yea except google now will show the menu button if you disable the hardware menu button on CM11S. Also the microphone levels fix has been known for a while and is the problem, it is likely that the rom you flashed just already used the increased microphone values.
I had adjusted the mic before-hand, and have used various ROMs.
it was not until I used SlimKat that it worked...
in every circumstance I have the nav bar off, so it is not the menu settings either from what I can tell.

P DP2 causes Snapchat to not have notification sound, only vibration

I'm on a Pixel 2 with DP2 and the notification sound for Snapchat has gone away - it only vibrates. I can't figure out any way to fix it. Anyone else have this issue?
I apologize if this is in the incorrect subforum.
for me the app crashes on launch on DP2
I'm having the same issue with the notification sound not working. It finally stopped crashing a few updates ago, but the notification sound still doesn't work. I keep hoping with every Snapchat update that the sound will work, yet it never does.
You have to wait until Google releases the final API so the developers behind Snapchat fully can adapt & optimize the app for the underlaying changes in P for getting everything to work.

Pixel 2 crash i.e shutdown (Pixel 3 Bug in Pixel 2, but worse)

Hi,
The pixel 2 crashing, if you are listening to songs on spotify and try to use camera ( same bug as pixel 3 but instead of removing the app, spotify, whole phone crash and shutdown). Display shows weird lines(Like, it got hardware issue or something).
Has anybody had this issue?
or
can someone try this and report?
1. Start spotify, play some song.
2. Open Camera app, try to click a picture.
3. Boom.. phone crash.
Just tried the method you suggested and mine worked absolutely fine.

What android version (build) are you using and spotify app version?
Mine is also working now.. I have heard, that this bug doesn't occur every time on pixel 3. It is definitely a memory management bug.
9.0.0 (PPR2.181005.003, Oct 2018) and spotify 8.4.75.670
I am using October OTA and spotify 8.4.75.670, and works normal.
It happen with Snapchat and Google music in my pixel2, now before I enter Snapchat I have to clear snapchat cache then I can use snapchat but without any app using the camera or speakers in the background. This problem started with my Pixel 2 before Android 8.1 update and it still.

Live Captioning feature not working on stock Pixel 4a?

I was wondering if anyone else could test if this is a problem for them. I'm hard-of-hearing and rely on this feature quite a bit, but obviously most people don't so it is hard to find information when there are issues with it.
I would say sometime in the last couple weeks to 1 month, the Live Captioning feature stopped functioning properly on my 4a (regular). I have it turned on yet it is not captioning media on the device. The only thing that seems to be working is phone calls.
Typically when you have LC on, it will transcribe any audio playing, like YouTube videos, Reddit/Facebook videos or audio clips, etc. Also LC is turned on, a persistent notification should display that says "Live Caption - Automatic Captions are enabled" however, this notification does not appear for me anymore; I am guessing this is another symptom of whatever problem is causing the feature not to work.
The service/app responsible for the feature is "Device Personalization Services" which I have tried resetting, disabling/enabling, reinstalling to no avail. I've tried rebooting several times and I am on the latest firmware/security patch (Android 11, RQ2A.210505.002). I am not sure if other Android or Google services are tied into this feature.
I'm wondering if this is just me or if it is happening to other people. Can anyone with a Pixel device on the latest patches confirm if you turn on Live Captions (Settings > Accessibility > Audio & On-Screen Text > Live Caption > Enable), does it caption audio for you? Check a video or audio clip of some sort on maybe YouTube or Facebook and the captions should overlay on the screen.
Any ideas why this wouldn't be working, or is there anywhere I can check what could be causing the problem? Would errors for this show up in system logs or anything? This feature was one of the main selling points of the Pixel for me and I would really like to get this working again. Thanks.

Gps issue while driving on google maps and waze...any solution?

I am experiencing frequent gps disconnect problems both on google maps and waze. While driving. Its like on google maps blue dot randomly stops during navigation and then after sometime suddenly catches up to me. Its really frustrating during driving.
I have also tried gps status apps from play store and they show same behavior. I have tried all options available on internet but no improvement. I remember that said issue was not present in initial miui build of poco x3 and has surfaced during recent updates.
Is anyone facing said issue and any remedial measure....?
Update:
I have done some trouble shooting and it seems that gps connectivity remain stable when i disconnect mobile data. Tested through offline navigation through google maps.
I had the same issue and disabled location access of Android Auto. This solved the issue with jumping or sliding positions on navigation apps
