GCam Mods - App Not Installed - General Questions and Answers

Hello XDA Community,
I have an issue with my phone Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus (A605FN) and Google Camera Port. I tried every version from XDA and their website with the apk's and I cannot install it.
Everytime I try to run the apk installer it says "App not installed" even that I checked in File Explorer "Install unkown sources - Allowed".
Does anyone know how I will manage to install GCam Mod on my phone?
Thank you!

I have same question...

[Q] Market Enabler ?

So I installed Market Enabler, and it works. I can access the US market.
The problem is, when I try to download an app like (Temple Run)
it says after(accept&download) "This item couldn't be installed in your device's country''.
Is this a problem, can anyone help?
Or Does the enabler just show you another market but you can't download?
My Phone: i9001 GS+
Solved. It doesn't work with google play. Unistalled updates and worked with old market!

another way
another way to do this is to modify the file build.prop as I remember. Basically it fakes your phone to be one of google's native phones such as the galaxy S etc.

Do you have the logcat of what the Package Manager said?
That error is usually caused when the download isn't complete, I.e. the file is not proper...
That said, if you were sideloading the app, and you believe that you have the complete file (.apk), then you can uninstall the original app, and place the new app in system/app, give appropriate permissions and reboot...
You need root acces for the abobe, and the method in general is referred to as the root explorer method...

So I need to give it root access and then try to install the apk again but in the system app section? And to add there is this app on there called "video player" it basically functions like the Google YouTube app but not as good. But sometimes when I go to see the not-yet-installed YouTube apk on my SD card it has the "video player" icon. I don't have any problem with sideloading any other apk on there so could that be the problem?

I can't understand what you're trying to say!
Refer the guide mentioned in my sig vv
And see the step: installing apks through root explorer
(The rest of the stuff isn't related to your device)

Generic youtube app provided by manufacturer causing OFFICIAL one to never install. *simplified*
How old is the atrix? Sounds strange if you cant even install google books. Maybe that could be a problem with the phone, not just older software.

Can someone help share the onstar remotelink apk 1.4

I have a Galaxy S2 i9100G and would like to install latest onstar remotelink app 1.4 which was out yesterday.
But play store says my phone is incompatible even though my phone was installed with remoteline 1.0 which I downloaded from somewhere else. I 'd like to at least give it a try with 1.4.
Can someone please share the apk file?
Thanks a lot.
Finnally I downloaded the apk file by using apk downloader.
However, when I tried to install it in my Samsung galaxy S2 I9100G, it says application is not installed.
Is it possible to change the phone setup to make it work?
Thanks,

App Not Installed Error

As the thread title says I am having troubles sideloading a particular app. I have modded whatsapp latest application (only color mod nothing much), I tried installing it in my Gionee M3 (Android 5.0) device using package installer the installation screen appeared for like 1-2 mins and then I got this message App not installed. I tried recompiling app, signing app, zipalign none worked. I tried installing same app into different devices such as Amazon Kindle 7 HD (running Beanstalk 5.0.2), HTC Desire 616 (Stock) and Samsung Galaxy Core(Stock) and it worked normally in every device. Please Help me out.

It looks like your device's rom/kernel have some security kinda feature that is preventing the app from getting installed

Your first reason kinda looks more promising Android 5.0 actually sucks, no it wont be permissions issue I am able to install original whatsapp normally.
