Hi all,
When I was briefly playing with the Alacatel U3 4034x, I managed to get it rooted and ported a custom TWRP for the phone.
These devices are so easy to brick and put into bootloop so I had made a original back up and noticed a few people on different sites asking for it.
Here are two links to the original stock roms for easy access, one is with TWRP recovery (touch fully works) and one is with the stock recovery.
WITH TWRP - https://mega.nz/#!rDoFlCwa!Bbz13_0Ma3sTd9MDKNWG14BBwIjh-UWQ7D-_ScZQE0k
WITH Stock - https://mega.nz/#!TC5nQQhS!iggYcBx4qhtb1Na6Zhkt-N-PDYBVV0u6pJWtjqhOIwc
Hope it will help someone when they need it.
(My English is Goggle)
Greetings to all.
Hello true_devil,
Thank you very much for Alacatel U3 4034x - TWRP!
I was almost desperate after repeated unsuccessful attempts.
I followed the instructions from this link, but always after <fastboot oem unlock>
I got to a boŠ¾tlup state without being able to restart in recovery mood.
I'd be grateful if you shared how you did it because the existence is:
"To be - not to possess!".
Why is the TWRP interface green?
Thanks in advance.

Hey all this will seems to be quite an odd thread to all. but its been long i have been using generic HTC one S and i know this site very well since i bought my phone 3 years ago!
Very well, I need to know some basic stuff so i can get perfect mod and upgraded without making it available for my younger brother to play with it by throwing it on wall.
So a good help will be really appreciated.
Only couple of questions:
1. Best ROM that support Indian HTC one S models.
2. Best and 100% working method to get this done successfully.
3. Any way i can backup the generic ROM and framework and get things moving ?
please don't get angry on me, just help me to get my phone renovated.
Thanks XDA

Hi there,
Im a One S user, so PM me if you need anything or reply to this thread so everyone can see
Answers:
1) This matters on opinion, but I would recommend cyanogenmod 11 (or 12.1 as Lollipop). Don't do this yet, see answer 3 to back up.
2) I would just follow my next answer here but if you need a detailed reply, reply back.
3) Unlock bootloader, quite easy, and S-OFF first, in case you lose any data. Any music/pics/etc pls transfer to pc first . Then, after S-OFF (or unlocked bootloader) install a custom recovery TWRP by getting the img file, booting to FASTBOOT mode (If you are on stock OS then go to Settings -> Power -> Uncheck fast boot (This will allow you to boot into fastboot)) .
Then, if that's all succesfull, the rest is easy . Download a new rom (like my answer 1 suggests, CM11 or CM12.1) then flash it . I highly recommend making a nandroid backup in TWRP after this is done transfer to PC. With TWRP 2.8.7.0 you can enable MTP mode in recovery, and then transfer whole TWRP folder to PC. Then, give a full wipe twice for all partition in TWRP (except for USB-OTG obviously).
Any more questions please contact me or reply to this thread, thanks.
Hey first time posting on xda devs and would like to know how to unlock bootloader, root the phone, and install custom ROM.
Now I have spent entire day backing up and searching the different people root but if someone can help me and point me in the right direction that would be great.
So I have a S3 from ATT Model: SGH-I747, Version: 4.1.2 JellyBean, BaseBand Version: I747UCDMG2, Kernel: 3.0.31 - 1300972. It is a stock ROM, I have never done anything to the phone at all before.
Now I will admit I followed a youtube video call "How to Root AT&T Galaxy S3 SGH-I747!" by High on Android and I did everything in the video. I used odin v1.85, I did the PDA to the CWM.tar file, phone rebooted and I added the CWM superuser file and that is when I tried to get to CWM recovery mode and all I got was the phone's default recovery mode and not the CWM one.
From what I understand I believe I need to unlock bootloader first, but again this is a my first doing this and I hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Forum post state that you should follow guides that is exactly the same to the phone you would like to install custom ROMs.
Honestly I would like to ultimately be able to install a recovery mode that works with my phone that I am able to create snapshot image of my stock phone in case anything happens or I would like to go back to my stock image (which I highly doubt if everything goes fine) and install a custom ROM (I know there are different ROMs if someone can point me to where I can check out all the custom ROMs and not necessarily install those custom ROMs that would be awesome) and finally get rid of ATT loading screen when booting up the phone and install a custom boot loading screen, but of course I care more about getting the custom ROM install first.
If anyone can help that would be great.

Hello everyone, I hope I'm writing in the right section.
I'll go straight to the issue: after finally deciding to install a custom rom on my device (HUAWEI GX8), i decided to opt for this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/development/rom-aospextended-rom-v3-0-t3537792
The first problem i had to face was the "ERROR:7" (so the rom seemed to be made for a different phone than mine) that occured while installing the rom in the twrp, but being that the rom was specifically made for my phone I followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wed03948gcg and fixed the issue, resulting in a perfect installation... or so I thought.
After rebooting, the phone didn't start the os but was stuck in the twrp (I tried rebooting multiple times and in different ways of course).
Being that I had made a backup before installing the new rom, I decided to restore that backup from the twrp... but still the phone is stuck in the twrp and I don't know what to do :crying:
I hope somebody can help me because I'm starting to panicking.
Cheers in advance.
PS: I'm a complete newb so this was the first time I installed a custom rom, I tried searching for this problem online but couldn't find a solution that fitted me. I hope I won't ask too many stupid questions.

The ROM that you flashed was NOT made specifically for your device, you have HUAWEI GX8, the ROM was made for Moto G4 Plus. You would have know this if you had looked at the forum it was posted in. It was posted in in the Moto G4 forum, not in a Huawei forum.
The "fix" that you used didn't help.it successfully flash, it only help you "force" the ROM to flash. You bypassed a safety measure that was designed to keep you from flashing the wrong thing, now you're dealing with the results of forcing it to flash on a device it wasn't meant for.
Learn to pay attention to what you are reading.
You need to flash your stock firmware to fix this.

I'm sorry I may have linked the wrong page, either way on the website of the rom I downloaded the right thing, I'm sure about it because I checked it multiple times (the error I made in writing the post may be cause by me panicking, sorry :crying: ).
While waiting for answers I installed a different twrp and it WORKS! I'm so happy I could cry. Thank you nonetheless for your help (Still dunno what the problem was though xD)
@SlimeAndroid as you installed ROM of different phone, it might not get installed as ROM zip contains script for Mobile verification.
I assume you had wiped /system and after installation of wrong ROM you rebooted your phone without reading if TWRP said you don't have any OS installed or what. (That means you have ran without any OS, that may be reason why you stuck with TWRP.)
But after Restoring Backup of Working ROM, it should boot your device, but it doesn't.
We (on G4 plus) have faced issue: when phone start, it always goes to TWRP/recovery instead of booting to system.
Are you facing similar ?
Solution for this problem was to clear bootloader data, by using fastboot commands (i assume you know how to do, otherwise ask for better explanation )
Run this two commands from Comand Prompt
-> fastboot oem fb_mode_set
-> fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
This worked for us. You can try, if doesn't work then flash Stock ROM.

You always have to make sure the download is for your model of phone(settings -about) and always make sure the download has properly downloaded and I use md5 checksum as this verifies the download is not courupt.

Hi,
iam glad this place still exits
I've got a S6 (SM-G920F), more or less a testing-device (poor Batterie^^) . It was on Android 7 Stock, may not updated for 6month+, not 100% sure . Was my first mistake, i don't know any more details...
First i tried a few old stock from sammobile (Android 5.1.1 etc.) and tried to flash with odin. As you may guess it didnt work. I thought "Stocks - should be easy " and there are many outdated guides who tell this. I searched for the error messages (onscreen) and found hints that this problems could be caused by Bootloader who deny downgrading, may also for good reasons. I didnt read any deeper, as i found this Guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/guide-downgrade-sm-g920f-nougat-to-t3639253
Followed this Guide with https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s6/SM-G920F/DBT/download/G920FXXU2COH2/54694/ as "Source". I worked with the engineering bootloader and the told parts from the Stock. RecoveryMode was broken, but systems seems boot fine and no obvious Errors or Problems. A good guide for that goal, but no guide can teach me whats going up in detail. I want to understand a little bit more, and not searching for a "from any to ANY guide"
Actually iam trying to get on 6.0.1 Stock, but this guide doesnt work for me with a few stock-roms, not booting.
Flashing complete stocks with odin still fails. Flashing dont start or fail at hidden.img.
I came to this page with my first xda, later flashed a lot with my Galaxys...S2-S4, also custom roms- but stayed on stock at some point. So i should have basic knowledge, but i realize its outdated and there a few new "stummbling blocks" etc. Therefore i decided to get more in detail and ask here, before trial and error with other ways (like flashing with recovery)may leads to a brick. Not founded deeper informations myself. In the past i knew which parts a rom/firmware could have and their functions and whats possible with it.
Somebody here with time to help? Where can i find infos which bootloader i got, which others i may can flash (on what way) and which one is working with which Rom^^ Hope that the device wasnt on newest BL, and i still have the choice. Is the Kernel or other parts important as long as iam only trying to jump between stocks?
I backuped efs-partition with TWRP and stored the backup folder on PC, is that enogh to be prevent IMEI lost?
Hints or Links could be enough in some cases.
Thanks for reading and your work

G920f is international version, so compatible with all roms. Frankly speaking, flashing is basically same as s2 etc. If you're on nougat, then nougat bootloader.
Idk why u want to go to Marshmallow, but some guys managed to flash a Marshmallow custom rom directly from nougat. It's called xtrestolite. It has no support whatsoever. https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-0-t3094423
For TWRP & ROOT, follow the steps in this video https://youtu.be/BV1ELmu8T0I & that's it.
DO NOT USE supersu. USE & flash latest Magisk v15.0+ (stable) from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/app...80cb6-t3618589 Download latest Magisk Manager as well
So the steps are:
From the links in the video, download the specific twrp for g920f. This one: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/zeroflte/twrp-...roflte.img.tar The first file.
Install the Samsung drivers from the link in the video on your pc.
Download & extract Odin.exe.(link in video. Use the same version)
Enable usb debugging on your phone.
Put your phone to download mode
Start odin. Follow the steps in the video to install twrp
When install is complete, immediately reboot to twrp to flash latest Magisk. Wipe Dalvik.
Reboot. Install latest Magisk Manager
Check status in the Magisk Manager.
Done.
If not rooted, flash magisk.zip again in twrp
SuperSu gave problems to some users. Magisk was successfully installed in the first shot!
Nougat roms I'd suggest to flash. They're in S6 unified forum:
MiPa rom, A8 2016 v2, OdexLite v4.1
Try the Nougat roms I've mentioned since you're already on Nougat.
BTW Don't flash any kernels. Stay with those which came with the roms
Just got a new Lenovo s5 (k520 running ZUI 3.7.177 ST) but can't root it (tried KingRoot and Root Genius so far).
It has a nasty little OS (ZUI 3.7) which keeps killing apps it doesn't like. It took me two days to find an adblocker which would work (AdClear) after trying Dns66, Blokada and a couple of others which I can't recall. It's tightly locked down.
* Anyway, my question is... Has anyone had any luck with rooting this phone or OS?
* Or, has anyone any suggestions for apps or rooting options which might be more successful?
If there's any other people out there with this phone, I would seriously consider chipping in to buy one for a dev to work with... give me a yell if you're interested.
Cheers,
Specs:
OS ZUI 3.7 (based on Android O)
CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 2.0GHz Octa core
ROM 64GB
RAM 4GB
Edit: Hmmm, I was hoping that the latest Magisk beta (16.6) might help, but no luck. It does seem to get further along but fails with an 'unable to find boot image' message (my apologies for not being able to quote that accurately). Nothing seems able to find that .img. Can't back it up either as no app can find it. Yes, I need to brush up my adb skills ...my last effort ended in an error reporting lack of appropriate key, as I recall (sorry, have a bit of a flu just now). Anyway, has anyone else been able to look at this phone? Anyone have any ideas (or just thoughts) about what I can do here?
Thanks.
Just to update.... I have tried every simple rooting option I can find -with no luck.
I have found one reference to installing twrp & rooting this phone, but I'm unsure how legit it is ...it just looks a little like its put together by a script; but maybe they just copy/paste a lot when writing tutes? (I have written to them but have had no response from them in a week). The tutorial makes reference to a dev/group in China successfully installing twrp, but only on a Chinese release, not international.
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone knows of the group or people referenced at
http://tutoraplikasi.com/cara-root-lenovo-s5/
or if anyone might have an idea of the dev(s) in China working on twrp & lenovo?
Just a shot in the dark, really, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Cheers.
OK, looks like time for some more serious reading and brushing up of old, much neglected skilz... I will probably close this thread and open another ( if there's no objections) in the xda twrp forum.
If anyone is interested, I'm looking to compile twrp for this device with a view to flashing magisk. Hopefully, it will work. Seems that adb & unlocking the bootloader is the only way I'm going to get to actually see the partitions holding the IMG files etc. (Though I do have one or two ideas about escalating privileges/permissions, but that's a whole other bunch of research -and time which is always short.)
Anyway, if you have an interest in rooting this phone have a look for a thread under twrp Q&A.
Cheers.
Seems like it was just a matter of waiting... XN Logos has come up with a solution, it appears --
https://www.stupdroid.com/2018/07/root-twrp-lenovo-k520.html?m=1
At least I managed some in depth reading in the meantime. I'll report back on success of the procedure.
Hi I have also a Lenovo s5. I hated zui 3.7 too and I succeded in installing Lineage OS 15.1 by phh using only fastboot mode... I tried rooting It but unsuccessfully. Now I want twrp and if it would be possible even root. Did you succeed with XN Logos?

Haven't actually tried yet. After all that looking for a root solution I now have been too busy. Will probably do it this Wednesday. I'll keep you posted. Did lineage work well? Any bugs or other issues? ZUI is a dog.
Yeah everything is okay... In the previous updates there was a problem with the audio in ear but now is solved. The only thing that is a little (but not dramatically) worse is battery life because in zui the fact that the os kills every app in background makes the battery last longer.
Hey guys, I know it is no the perfect thread for this yet this phone almost doesn't exist anywhere on the internet. I have the same issue with apps closing as you do. I wanted to install Lineage OS yet as there is no official release for lenovo S5. I would really appreciate some guidance on which release would I install and how. Would it be via the twrp? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm a lucky owner of this beautifull beast, the Lenovo S5 K520, but with the horfull ZUI3.7. I always have been using Cyanogen and after lineage OS.
It did not luck for me to install it on the Lenovo S5.
I manage to install TWRP-3.2.2-0713 with the help of the S-Droid toolkit for Lenovo S5.
From there, I did try every rom from phh on this page : https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/lineage-phh-treble-t3767690
but the best I did get is the first logo of lineage OS going on and never stop for hours. I also did try AOSP treble Rom from this site : https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/experimental-phh-treble-t3709659, but there I'm getting the Android text changing of ligth theme, but bothing more.
Could you please tell us the procedure and the version of the software you are using so that you are able to use Lineage OS on a Lenovo S5 K520?
Thanks a lot.

Hi i did in this way...
1)fastboot -w
2)fastboot erase modemst1
3)fastboot erase modemst2
4) fastboot erase system
5) fastboot erase boot
6) fastboot erase recovery
7) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
8) fastboot flash boot boot.img
9) fastboot flash system {systemname}.img
The only thing you should do firstly is download the firmware from a video in YouTube whose name is like "ROM Lenovo s5" or something like that and extract the firmware in order to have both boot.img and recovery.img. Hope I could help
P.s. I used phh lineage latest build

Hi everybody!
I was wondering if any of you have a copy of the original ZUI 3.7 non-Chinese stock firmware. I had trouble with my phone and contacted the customer service. Unfortunately, they've sent me the Chinese version (K520_CN_OPEN_USER_Q00011.0_O_ZUI_3.7.355_ST_180412_qpst) and now my phone is almost unusable as the rom only contains crappy Chinese stuff... :crying:
All apps are Chinese and it contains no GApps... I cannot even restore previously save config.
Please help me and send me a backup or the original non-Chinese firmware.
Thank you very much
I didn't even know the existence of an original firmware for non Chinese phones indeed when I bought it it came with a horrible chinese firmware with few translations. Did you find it? Because I want to try it too. If you didn't find it I'm also going to look for it
