Hey everyone,
I got thru doing a factory reset and installed all the Play Store app updates on my Samsung SM-J727T1 a little while ago. I use Metro PC for my cell carrier, and the few times in the past I've never received a email like the one I got a little while ago.
It looks like it's sent to someone with a LG Cell and I only have the Samsung. Could anyone when they have some free time take a look at this and see what u think it's something for my phone.
Hi,*
If you were experiencing an issue making a payment and didn't see a decimal on an LG device*in your key board, LG finally got a fix.* These are the directions they provided to manually update your device:
LGEIME v7.6.12.3 has been uploaded to the update*Center and the customer*can update it from Settings > Update center > App Updates.
They are currently working on the auto-update process.*
For the crash issue:
We recently posted a new version of the app out on Play. This is version 470025.**
As always if you are having issues paying your bill using the app, you can call the automated system and make a payment for free or you can go to**metropcs payment**
Finally if you need to report an issue with the app or with anything else, please call 611 and a representative can put in a ticket for you.

Hi guys, my Captivate won't download apps from Android Market. Even if I turn wifi on or off. Any idea why this would be happening. It did this last week, I fixed it by restoring phone. I don't wasn't to do that every week though. Also when I force phone to check for updates its say "DM initialisation is not ready. Check network or sim card"
Maybe you should take it to the AT&T store - they may know whazzup.
I took it to store, call customer service, and spoke to Samsung customer service last week. Nothing they said or tried help. I figured out to restore it on my own would fix it..... none of them even suggested that option.
I know that this is an old thread but I thought it might be helpful if I post the solution to the “DM initialisation is not ready. Check network or sim card" when trying to check for an OTA update. It seems to be linked to task managers. If the process “Device Management” is not running in the background when you check for an update then you will receive the DM error message. What I do is add an exclusion to the Device Management process in my task manager.
it sounds like you'll need to do another reset. I had that problem when I tried a rom from the i9000 phone. It had left over remnants from the original rom. I'm back to the at&t rom again because it runs the smoothest and I like it the best though it's kind of ordinary.

My Iball andi 5k panther is sending SMS automatically everyday after every few hours.I just get a pop up saying Message sent, 1 RS deducted. It doesn't show any number to which SMS was sent I do have built in app permission manager as it is running on android 4.4.2 and I have denied permission to all outgoing sms.So there is no question of any app sending out SMS at least that's what I think. This is a fairly new mobile and still under warranty. I am using Reliance as my network provider.I called reliance cust care to check if any VAS services got mistakenly activated from their end but they denied any such services. They also gave me the number where messages were being sent. I tried calling that number but it never rings and just get disconnected. Since this cell is still under warranty I took it to the store. At first even they looked puzzled but then they formatted my cell which cleared all the downloaded apps leaving only the default apps which came with the mobile. After few hours again a message was sent out and I got the same pop up Message sent 1 RS deducted. I don't know what to do.This seems to be one of a kind problem. Please someone help me.Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am planning to go back to the store since it is still under warranty but I have very little hope considering the solution they provided me the very first time. I downloaded few apps apart from the default apps and they all seems good like MX player, whatsapp,Hike,Adobe reader & Smart App lock.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Looks to me like there's some built in app that's operating behind the scenes. You could do some further investigation if you root the device, but rooting the device will almost definitely void your warranty so that probably isn't a viable option. I'd return to the from which you bought the phone and let them know that the problem is still occurring even after a factory reset, meaning that the problem lies with the stock firmware. Honestly, I'd be asking for my money back, this all seems very shady to me.
Good luck!
Update from @[email protected]:
Hi,
Thanks for your reply to my post regarding my Iball mobile sending SMS automatically to an unknown number.Just wanted to let you know that recently I installed 360° antivirus in my cell and after in depth scan it listed COM.STS as a Trojan which is deep rooted in my ROM.It also explained the Trojan as (1) Forced auto start (2) Send SMS without warning (3) Steals users personal information (4) Users risk permission that do not comply with software attributes. It also detected system vulnerability which included Fraudulent text broadcast.
Now I have the proof and can get this cell replaced with a new one.Just wanted to post this as an answer to my question but for some reason my thread is closed and I don't know how to open it.So I chose to send you a msg in pvt.
I would appreciate if you post this as an answer to my question so it could help someone in need.

Hi has anyone else recieved this pop up?
Stock note 5 no root. It shows up in my pull down status bar. If I don't hit accept the update or decline it goes away.
See picture.
Yes and i have also declined, it seems very fishy. I dont want to infect my note, i love this thing. Would love to know what it is
Installed it. No issues so far.
I got the same thing and installed it today. I also looked in the application manager and you can uninstall the update if you wish
It's just a software update for Samsung backup and restore. My guess is maybe getting ready for 6 to finally come.
I called my service provider and they said they see it on their devices in their office. But they told me I can contact Samsung for more information. I then called Samsung, the support guy had no idea what it was and said that they only know about the Lollipop update. Never had much luck with Samsung support, always seems pretty useless.
I'm getting the same pop up daily on my Edge Plus. It's not a software update through Android. It says it's from Galaxy. ???
I've also received this update. Haven't installed it yet.
Anyone received android 6 update yet? Still waiting on Sprint.
I installed it yesterday. I have seen no ill effects.
I have received this same notification. I have yet to install. When I navigate to Settings to locate Software Update, it says my device is up to date, yet I keep receiving the notification. Seems super fishy to me.
I've been getting this notification almost daily for about 2 weeks and have declined everytime also because it seems very "fishy". I can' t find any app called "Backup and Restore" on my phone and settings show all is up to date. I called Sprint. They didn't know. Suggested I call Samsung or do a system reboot (they had no clue). I called local Speint store with techs there and he wasn't familiar with it either. He asked if I could bring it in to show him. Haven't yet. I have the notification "pending" in background now. Maybe I'll take it today. At least I have Lookout Security installed so maybe that will help in case its malicious? Very wierd. Someone please post if you have specifics! Thanks!
Hello, I'm a normal (not expert on rooting etc) android phone user and even after googling i couldn't solve or answer my question/issue. The past phone I had was an xperia z3 compact. This phone was able to send mms automatically (even with data off i could see the lte working for a few seconds and then the mms was sent it stopped). Now with my latest phone Lg Q6 i need to put the data on (and off) each time i want to send or recieve and mms. I checked on the Android messages app and my lg q6 has acces to my network. So i believe it should be able to also send mms automatically but it doesnt. So what is it? As i said i did some googling and i found nothing. Some people said it was the apn, and i checked, is the same info that i had before. I don't want to download any 3rd apps either. I know that i could just leave the data on but i don't want to risk it as i have a small data plan.
I contacted lg, google and Fido. Fido and google said that Lg is the one that should be able to help me with this (even if the app is from google) so i call Lg and they suggested a reboot, and factory reset. Still the same.
I have the idea is like some coding (ors something like that) on the app that doesn't allow it. After reading some forums i saw that HTC and some samsung phones also send mms automatically.
Any ideas on what else can i do?
Thanks!
Have you tries all the tips on this website: http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/beginner/how-to-automatically-receive-mms-picture-messages/
If you have and it's still not working, then I think it may be a factory problem.

I'll check it out and post the update after. Thanks!
Update: I tried what it said on that link and also some things from the comments and still the same. I'm looking now for more info in this forum so i'll see if there's something new to try.
Hi guys!
Tried the search but came up with nothing so here goes...
I must admit I'm not very tech savvy but I can follow instructions no worries
I joined mainly because my Samsung Galaxy S8+ (un-rooted) started to behave very strangely early this year.
(and I want to trick it up after warranty expires in August ?)
Short story is that my Samsung account got hacked (or it at least seems like it) and the perp was then able to control my phone remotely. It was incredible watching my phone do as it pleased and all I could do was sit back and watch. Funny thing is that I've never actually toggled the RC switch (find my phone)...
My local carrier (Telstra Bigpond - Australia) account as well as my Google account got taken over shortly after. This would have given whoever it was access to my 3 cloud accounts which add you can appreciate would contain some sensitive material.
Whoever is responsible could well be a member on here so "Hi, there!! "
I pulled my sim and sd card and switched the phone off so I could decide what to do next.
I got a password manager app, changed all passwords (lucky my partner had a spare iPhone 5S sitting around up I could get online) and factory reset the phone.
All seemed to be going well until a few days ago...
I got "timed out" on my Samsung account (is that even possible?!) and while I was putting the password in (on the Samsung website - silly mistake!) just as I hit next I noticed a few dots in a square pattern that did a spinning type of graphic over the password entry box.
Continuing onto the next screen where the two step verification was, which was to send a text to my phone to receive a code and bang! Before I even received the text a six digit code appears in the fill box on the screen (same spinning dots in a square pattern) right before my eyes and then I receive the text afterwards! The numbers matched!!
I’ve also been asked to enter my Google credentials on more than one occasion lately from being “signed out”...
I don't know what to do!
I've tried all of the popular virus type apps and a few file managers to no avail. More like I've been hacked than a virus?
I've removed apps and shut down almost all of them as well as toggling between mobile data and WiFi and restored the phone twice back to earlier backups from over 6 months ago.
I've only ever downloaded from the Play Store apart from just the once getting your better version of the Play Store XDA (LABS) app.
What might be noteworthy is when I was using Google's help function it said that I had a "modified Android" and to contact manufacturer. I can guarantee the phone has never been cracked open.
I can provide screen shots from DevCheck (FLAR2) but I really don't know what I'm looking at. I also don't have any unknown apps etc...
I really don't know what to do next...
Any advice please??
Sorry about the long post.
All the best,
Crackles
Took phone to Samsung and they wiped the device and installed current (Android Pie 9 w. Feb 01 security update) so was looking forward to having a play with the new os until I went to add my Samsung account details...
Entered the password then the 2-step security kicked in to send a text to my number.
The earlier 4 circling dots dropped the 6 digit code into the fill box before I even received the sms! Device (on it's own jumped straight to the remote control button in the Find my Device security section) then attempted to change the password!
Only thing that prevented that from being carried out was I had biometrics activated and stopped the action using my fingerprint.
Seriously no one has any idea on what to do?!
I also had installed a replacement sim card.
I also can't uninstall updates on certain apps like Google Play Services etc, and some apps either have a dead link (press it and nothing happens) or Play Store can't find the app when I hit the downloaded from Play Store thingy at the bottom of the app description page. Hope that makes sense.
As you said, they wiped the phone, which means they most likely flashed the whole firmware, so there's no way for any malware to remain installed. But for what it's worth, you can try to re-flash the firmware yourself using Oding to make sure the whole flash is clean.
If your phone really was infected with any kind of malware, it must have been a 3-rd party app you have (repeatedly) installed. Some apps like Google Play Services cannot be uninstalled because they are vital for system's (or rather apps installed from Play Store) propper functioning.
Also, even if you had infected your device, it would not be able to take control of your device to the extent you described because of app sandboxing, which cannot be broken unless the app constitutes itself as a system app (because every part of the system has to be cryptographically signed, this would break the boot and brick your device) or the user (you) would have to allow the app the necessary permissions to carry out these tasks.
Hey Kernel thanks for the reply ?
Yes I know what I'm saying sounds crazy and even the missus said I was nuts till I showed her.
I can't screen record any more either...
I'm noticing odd little things like when I pull the notifications screen down for a second or so the NFC, Bluetooth and nearby icons are lit up but then revert back to a if they were off. I've switched all of these items off in the settings so are they being sneaky?
So far nothing really bad has happened apart from not being able to put my credentials into the PayPal app. That's using both Last Pass auto-fill and manually entering the email and password. I've un-installed and re-installed many times and it's the same. I'm not going to add any banking apps just yet.
Facebook also got installed in the background about 4 times within a few minutes. Seemed odd to me. I think I've got a screenshot of that.
Malwarebytes found an issue with I'm guessing a theme I got from the Samsung Galaxy Store so I removed it, chose another and it seems OK.
There's still a few odd things happening like certain settings reverting back to something different from what I'd set.
I'll keep tinkering and post anything that stands out.
Is there an app or something that can check every file on my phone and tell if something isn't quite right?
I don't have a pc at the moment but when I do I'll look into Odin.
Thanks again for taking the time I know I sound like a lunatic and tbh I really wish I was haha!!
Hmm interesting...
When I tried to upload the screenshot it stopped and said "bad request"...

Could all this weird bs be happening if the home WiFi has been hijacked?
Sorry for dumb questions.

Whatsapp does the same thing, autocompletes the code, before de sms is coming. This is not a malware. But, don't use password manager... Those can be hacked.
Really my password manager can be hacked?!
I'm using Last Pass.
So moving on I started to poke around the WiFi router and found the PnP enabled and my device was sharing with another device. I did not authorise this. I've since reset the router, changed the pin and access code, disabled the WPS and also factory reset the device that was "sharing" with mine... The owner of said device no longer lives with me. I'm just glad I confiscated the phone from him before he left.
When I'm researching possibilities of what could be going on with my phone the pages won't load. It's like my searches are being monitored and the data is being stopped. I tested this with my partner's phone (on mobile data) and the exact Web pages loaded right up on her's without a hitch! I tried again on mine and they just stopped. Pages would load straight away on mine if searching for something completely different like rc cars or bmx related content. Stuff to do with my phone just won't work ffs!
Like when I tried my first post on here. It simply would not post it up! I ended up having to copy/paste the draft and emailing it to another account that I made up on the spot on her phone. Hence the two usernames in this thread.
I got the 3C TOOLBOX app and in the app management section, Task Manager under service many of them are "custom entries" and I cannot un-tick, modify or reset back to the original version of any of these apps. Google Play Services was the worst. Pretty much every thing it was capable of doing had a "custom action" and I could not do anything with it.
Am I doing something wrong or do I have a serious invasion of my phone..?
Thinking about smashing this thing to bits and getting an S10+ ??
Also the Bluetooth, NFC & Nearby buttons almost any me of the day/night are on for a split second when I drag the motivation panel down. These are all set to "OFF" in settings...
What
The
F--k?!?!?!
