Hello all... Is there any updates about news for 7.0? When will it come? Oct, Nov or Dec? What will it have new?
7 minutes ago Mo Versi (@moversi) post a news about the October security update for A9, M9 and HTC10 (new security update will be OTA on 10/24) so i think that Nougat update will be very soon! ( i hope so)
We have an unofficial version of cm14, that's it as of right now

Page 93 of the CM13 thread someone gave a like to the file from their Google drive
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-a9/general/cm13-t3290846/page93
@htchelp stopped answering me about it when I called them on their BS canned responses. I asked what I can do as a consumer since they flat out lied to me, no reply in over a month.
Its horror waiting on update, and not just on HTC devices.I mean ,the best way is to buy Pixel phone. Its get always the newest software and this is the future, cos of security uodates.
In December it will be for A9!

Tired of waiting, bought the HTC 10...
It's a ****ing beast!
You should not have had to buy a new phone to get what you were promised.
Really disappointed from HTC, i think i will never trust again HTC.
first they say screen protection is gorilla glass 4 and after test shows its GG3 they hide it!
they promise 15 days update after nexus and now there is mouths and even M9 gets the update and we not.
feeling sad for buying A9
With HTC you are still one of the first to get the Nougat update.
True, they did say "15 days for A9" and that appeared to be a broken promise but still we're getting it very fast.
Come on, 2 months is not much. Be patient.

I bought it for that promise, and I preferred HTC instead of the Nexus 6p... totally disappointed with the "HTC marketing fail"
Technically they're still faster than the other OEMs around... maybe by the end of the month we're having Nougat on our devices...
I also bought it instead of Nexus 5, thinking a big company like HTC never broke a big promise like this, they dont peomise it for M9 but as we see secound device was that and we still remain on marshmallow! Ok 15 day is not possible for a big update like nougat and again ok htc 10 is flag ship, but why they release it for M9 but not for A9?!

Actually other brands have their models with Nougat today.
Essentially this. Seriously tempted to cancel my Pixel 2 XL panda order and order one of these instead. Ironically, I'd probably still get this before the Panda XL, which would be with me around 21st December!
What's HTC like to deal with if you have issues? My previous HTC phone was a One X, so I'm a bit behind!
100 quid less, twice the memory & 2Gb more RAM along with expandable storage and the second best Android camera is swaying me, but stock android is making me waver...

Very true. Don't actually care about Daydream, which I know is a perk of OLED. What are the software updates like now? More frequent, or few and far between?
I've heard some truly horrendous examples of HTCs customer service when it comes to repairs, both on the internet and a couple through my old place of work (mobile phone repair contact centre), which is another reason I'm hesitating.

My experience i had with HTC (NL) was always good, proper response and whenever i had some issues HTC picked it up and without any discussion repaired my phones. i really like them, and yes there will always be some to say to each company but i am using HTC form the old days (when the produced phones under the brand of Qtek) and they never really disappointed me.
With the HTC online store, the only place I can buy the U11+ | and no financing option, I can not consider it sadly. LG V30 is my bottom choice - the OnePlus 5T could be good - and the Razer Phone is a good choice also.
Hello,
In the UK here and have the HTC u11 life on pre-order, I can see a few posts on here so can see that there are actually some people that own and have first hand experience of the phone. Im moving from a Nexus 5x so would be very interested at your thoughts about this phone ? Screen, speed, quality, are the bezels that big, etc etc. Anything u can tell me....
Also, One main question: does it have a notification LED ? I contacted HTC support and they have said, yes it does but I cannot see this in the specs or pics.
Many thanks for the info

Great phone for the price.
I have a T-Mobile version so it's not Android one software.
It has notification led. The phone is basically just like my 10 in size. The screen is only 1080p but it's great still.
Cameras are great. Battery and standby are great. It's a really great phone overall.
Thanks Bro

I literally just got back from T-Mobile to get the u11 Life. I set it up to my liking and everything is great so far. Touch response is great. Speed is great. I just wish it came with the USB-c to headphone adapter like most phones workout a headphone jack. But the free headphones are great.
Just having a little lag every so often with the finger print unlock.
I rebooted the phone and now the fp sensor works great. No complaints so far with this phone.
I've seen many reviews complaining about trouble with getting Edge Sense to register properly, but I've had no issues; I've actually found it to be very useful when using the short press for Google Assistant and the long press for the camera app. Can anyone confirm consistent issues with Edge Sense or a lack thereof; did the reviewers tend to roll poorly in the silicon lottery?
I have a U11 (Android One version, with 4 Gb RAM and 64 Gb storage) and everything works perfectly, including Edge Sense. This phone is amazing, takes vary nice pictures (and pics are OK in low light, not as good as on the U11 but for the price it's a great choice).
It's lighter and had more "grip" that the metal edges, at least for me it's not as slippery as big brother so I tend to enjoy it more without a case on !

Same here in NL. I contacted HTC NL and their customer service said they expected to deliver the 4gb / 64gb devices not until beginning of December... Not sure if this also applies to other countries but a little disappointing seeing how the 'regular' model is already available through several webshops here...
Not Great at all. Looks like another 2 weeks worth of wait, oh well, I do hope its a case of 'good things come to those who wait.'
Been reading reviews and although this is not a flagship phone the reviews do seem encouraging. Bring it on HTC...

I've ordered 2 yesterday.
The black version seems to be available. The Blue version not. So expect delays when going for the blue version.
On a side note. Black Friday sale started yesterday, so the phone now costs around 341€

The bottom bezel still a bit big? Like in the U11 just without the FP sensor? I saw the videos but it's hard to tell without probably seeing it in person.
I don't want to call it big.. Bigger than the S8. That's a fact. But disturbing no. It's heavy compared to the u11 but that's normal with this gigantic battery.

I don't think this phone needs custom anything to be honest.
The camera is already top 3
Audio is only bested by the V30/20 series
It's as smooth as a Pixel
No bloat
Battery is good

This is my only complaint. Having come from an iPhone 6s Plus back to Android with the U11 Plus, there is absolutely no accessories for this phone. Heck, even many big case manufacturers didn't even make anything for the U11 flagship, and every single one seemed to ignore the U11 Plus now. Even Dbrand and others stopped making skins for HTC products.

A very big reason why I buy Android phones is because it's fun to tweaking and playing around with customizations with the software.
I agree this phone is one of the best for a regular user, but I think many of us here on xda wanted at least twrp, s-off and LeeDroid rom or something...
Now this is "just" a good smartphone. To bad Im already bored.

I have a U11 (which replaced a HTC 10) and just placed an order for the U12+ despite the supposedly mediocre battery. I had a look at the S9+ and other devices but in the end, I just love software, edge sense, the audio quality and the fact that is the phone just works flawlessly.
Yea, I did my research and camera is better, audio is better, it's faster and smoother in UI and opening apps, edge sense is a plus, and it's cheaper. BUT beware, the power and volume buttons are IMO absolutely terrible. No update has fixed anything for me. IDK, I may have defective device because other people seem to not have issues.

if you ask in the samsung thread you will get the samsung answer, here you get htc, bot are good devices while htc has the better camera the samsiung has the better screen, samsung has lagwiz while hrc-s sense may not have so much options as samsung but it works better, the edge sense i wouldant see as a pro or con because it is still a little fidgety, what i have to warn you, it is very very slippery, you cant even leave it on a desk, could happen that it walks and falls down

In Europe not as you think. So if there is something wrong with the device which has nothing to do with unlocking the bootloader, it will not be void in that way...only if you **** up the hardware like with overclocking or so, it is void and they will charge you the repair cost

I sent my U11 in for repair after I bricked it. Well I thought I bricked it. HTC didn't fix my phone after having it for five weeks. Didn't even send me documentation on what was done with the phone as it booted once then showed a corrupt OS error. The phone did have an unlocked bootloader. At least HTC didn't charge me anything.

And its looking like the export ban on Huawei might be completely lifted soon. The Mate 20 is looking to be the best phone of 2018.

Battery life with the latest firmware update is superb! Light to medium usage nets 7 hours of SOT with 2 days between charges if you are used to draining your battery to 10%
I have both phones. I was obsessed with the U12+ for months and finally pulled the trigger. I went back to the S9+. I couldn't stand the capacity buttons going nuts every once in a while and missed the headphone jack. Low light in the front camera is also better on the S9+.
I'd really hate to say it, especially being an HTC guy for all these years. Some of you may know me for developing the toolkits for HTC device to root them.
I went from the HTC 10 to the S9. I switched carriers and got a brand new S9 from Samsung directly for $480 earlier this year.
Huge difference with the 2 phones. I miss my HTC. I will say that. The camera on the S9 is extraordinary. It's the best camera I've ever used. My Nokia N8 (back 8 years ago) was the only phone I'd say that has an amazing camera, especially with Xenon flash!
The wireless charging on the S9 is a godsend. I charge my phone with it and prefer not to use the USB cable. Also, the S9 is easy to take apart. I work for Asurion, so I take apart phones nearly everyday. HTC is a pain in the ass to do. I can open the S9, swap the battery and put it back together in about 15 minutes. Super easy.
So in terms of maintenance, hardware and all that good stuff, I'd go with the S9, S9+ in your case. Only downside is that my battery is terrible since Day 1 and the phone can't be rooted/unlock the bootloader. I'm not really caring into fixing my battery issue. I deal with phones enough to not even care about my own.
Hy guys.....First of all, thank you....Second ... my new phone.....HTC u12+ .....So far so good, just 30 min ago i received the phone. No problems with ,,buttons'' .Now i need to install the latest updates for software.
