@vegetaleb
Hi,
Did the file worked for you to return to stock? (crappy internet here so I would prefer not to download 2GB of not working stuff)
You just renamed it and flashed it in download mode from SD?
Best regards

I didn't try it because the buyer wanted to keep root.
You can flash it from sd or from fastboot (PC) . If the fw number is the same on your u11+ then it should work, just verify md5 to be sure that the download was not corrupted

Tried to flash it via TWRP but it says it's corrupt

rename it to 2Q4DIMG.zip, place it to the root of your SD, boot to download mode and it will recognize it and ask you if you want to flash it

why don't ruu with 401.7 and take ota?
boot image patched for magisk for 401.12 allready posted on xda so no need to extract

Thank you for your reply. To see if I get it correctly:By sd,you mean my micro sd card?I have Twrp recovery. No problem, right?I have Skyline.I delete it and wipe cache/storage etc,ok and I boot into download mode.So it will recognise it and do the rest by itself?

glad to hear it worked
you should first take ota, after you will find the already patched boot image here on xda and just use it for magisk or could create your own (but you should twrp to extract original boot image or wait for ruu for latest version to take it from there)
or maybe could be possible to extract original boot image from ota but I never did that so I don't know

Have just wiped the internal storage on TWRP HTC u11 Pus
Hi guys I really need your help here, I have wiped the internal storage of my "HTC U11 Plus" I did not make a back up either, TWRP recovery is installed and the boot loader is unlocked, this is a uk model. I would be most grateful if someone could tell me how to install the stock Rom back on to the phone or if someone will just be honest with me & tell me that the phone is just a paper weight now. I have spent some time looking for a stock rom on various website & also contacted HTC uk customer service who basically told me to f**k off, cant believed they would not help on a phone that cost £350, also I will sell the phone to any one on the board in the uk if they want an immaculate HTC u11 Plus.

Is SafeStrap an app if so im even more stuck as the wirless is coming up error on my phone still must be the namless v1.1 still ??
Have you tried reflashing CWM via fastboot? Could just be your recovery got borked and you need to reflash recovery.
You can also try reflashing CWM via ROM Manager.
edit: Your img file might be corrupt, did you compare the MD5 sum? How are you flashing recovery?

No you don't have to do all of that,
Just download the correct CWM recovery.img file, CHECK the MD5, then flash via fastboot, you don't have to start fresh or anything.
edit:
what phone is this for?
I got that it's an HTC device running Sense 4 but we might help you find a better CWM recovery link if we know which device you're using on what carrier.

Awesome!
Glad we got you back up and running, it can be a real pain when the issue is a bad img file and you can't seem to figure out what is going on, but people need to remember to check MD5 sums for recoveries, radios and bootloaders lest they brick.
I don't think you need to upload since that link seems to work, they can just find the CWM for that phone from the link I provided and flash via fastboot from there.
Cheers bro, let us know how it's going after you flash the ROM

Yea it is, but I think it's more for Motorola devices. I don't know what HTC uses if anything different. But my phone would boot to the OS so I could still install apps via the SD card. Once I got that properly reinstalled I could access the boot menu again.
Seems like you got that issue solved by I still wanted to follow up.

[Q] OTA Update for an XE

Hey,
Last night I got a system update message and on reboot it loaded clockworkmod and now I can't install the update
I rooted and installed the mod before but I never use it...
How can I disable clockworkmod or deleting it so I can get the official update (I would much prefer that)
Thanks,
PS. I have read other posts about this online but the problem have been slightly different and with other phones so the wrong files, i'm guessing

If yes just download and run the RUU exe from here. This will put you on that software version.

no, 3.33.401.106 is the next one then it is 3.33.401.153
However, you can just flash the RUU and it will put you on 3.33.401.153 without having to flash 3.33.401.106 - also because you are rooted the OTA file may fail to run whereas the RUU wont.

Regardless of whether my hoster's website is down, my FTP remains up so you can still download the file using the link I posted. Its self explanatory and comes with instructions within the installer, it will wipe your phone so I would suggest doing a nandroid backup of data only then restoring data from a custom recovery (you will have to reflash the custom recovery after the RUU has finished because it will return you to stock recovery)

The RUU replaces (gets rid of) clockwork mod with HTC Stock recovery, so to restore nandroid backup after RUU you will need to reflash CWM

I think with an app like that you need root to use it (Titanium backup needs root) and to root you still need a custom recovery so I would just recommend the method I suggested but apart from that the method is correct

Finally got round to doing this and i got an error 115
'ERROR [155~159]: IMAGE ERROR'... One of these error messages will appear when you use the incorrect RUU to update and the image file size is larger than the Flash ROM size. In this case, download the correct RUU version and try again.
Should i update to the 3.33.401.106 RUU first. If so, where do I find it?
Sorry about this

[Q] OS lost :(

Hello guys,

Has anyone a save that I could use ?
Or else is there any stock ROM available ?

Hello and than you for your reply.
Did you test it ? Cause I downloaded the same file several times from chineese sites and the zip is now working.
At the end I found a smaller rom (HTC_One_E8_m8sw_v1.0) but it's "customized" and "optimized" and I'm not fan of it as I don't know who did what on it.
Anyway, thank you very much, I'm downloading your file and I will try it.

What's the procedure to flash it ?
I tried by using TWRP and Install.
I tried also by renaming the rom 0PAJIMG.zip and use HBOOT, but each time I get an error saying that the image is not valid.
I'll try again with your file.
But if you fear that something will go wrong, then make your own backup using TWRP

After i re-lock my HTC boot loader, i was managed to recover my phone using Stock ROM.
Thanks all.
First off yes RUU zip files are encrypted so you can't open them like normal zip files. Not sure about the OTA for E8 as I don't have one yet. OTAs used to be unencrypted but there was talk HTC may start encrypting them also.
To flash an RUU zip with it on the SD card you probably need similar pre-requisites to the HTC One M7 Dual SIM I am familiar with such as: Locked bootloader, zip on external SD FAT32 formatted, not sure if you need to be S-Off if you are flashing the same region/CID version (i.e. x.xx.1402.x for China Unicom).
You probably can flash the RUU using fastboot: fastboot flash zip name_of_zip.zip
again must be same region RUU unless you are S-Off
I must start a new thread and try and collect the different region variations etc and any RUUs and see if it is possible to swap regions like you can on the HTC One M7 - obviously only between RUUs for the same hardware MID. I understand there are single and dual sim E8s in China (M8Sw and M8St respectively??) and the dual sim is also available in Taiwan and Russia. Hopefully the Russian ROM is x.xx.401.x and is a Europe wide ROM. If the MID is the same on all the handsets in different regions swapping ROMs should be possible.
is that ROM for E8 dual sim M8Sw? thx

[How-to][ruu] Flash ruu.zip to factory

If you have some problem with your phone like me (Settings app fc always) you can download your RUU.zip and flash it.
If your bootloader unloced no problem no need to relock.
Go to download mode and type:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Now your booted to the black HTC screen. Make sure your Rom.zip file is in your adb/fastboot folder
Code:
htc_fastboot flash zip Rom.zip
This takes a couple minutes and you will most likely get a error (pre-hboot update: please flush immediately) and maybe your phone reboot sometimes.
Make sure device is still in ruu mode(black HTC screen).
Let it run and it should finish this time
After completed :
Code:
fastboot reboot
It will reboot to a fully stock build.
Just remember, anytime you get a "flush immediately" error, just make sure your still in ruu mode and reflash the zip.
The most common error is typically :
FAILED (remote: 90 hboot pre-update! please flush image again immediately )
Enjoy your stock phone again.

Yes i tried and worked every time for me!
You can't make a downgrade with out S-OFF!!!
(I'm not using HTC anymore but this process still working)
HTC Fastboot in 2nd post. You only need paste to fastboot and adb folder.
If you want to decrypt RUU you can use : HTC RUU Decrypt tool . You will got a system.img, boot.img, recovery.img etc...
HTC Fastboot exe : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934550031
Thank you. I was wondering how to flashing the zips.
Thanks OP.
I want to extract the stock boot and recovery from RUU but it appears the format of RUU provided here is different from the others.
Is it still possible to extract them?
And could this RUU rename to 2Q4DIMG.zip and place to sdcard and flash from device with download mode?

If y want to decrypt the RUU y need this : HTC RUU Decrypt tool
You can decrypt the ruu file and y can find the system.img, boot.img, recovery.img.
I think you can place to sdcard but i didn't try this.

Yes. Confirmed it can be decrypted by the tool. Thanks.
Hi, I flashed the firmware from the microsd (fimware 1.10.400.23). As with htc 11 normal model, just rename the firmware file corresponding to the phone model in 2Q4DIMG.zip, put it in the sd card, start htc u11 plus in download mode and it's done. There is no need to have unlocked bootloader.

I tried to downgrade from 1.24.401.2 to 1.10.401.23 with the SD-card method (non root) because of wakelocks and the low percentage of Deep Sleep of screen time off (confirmed today by HTC Nordic today and that HTC are working on a new update. The support person didn't know any ETA).
Everything seems okay underway when flashing but after boot and finishing the setup procedure, Wifi, Google account etc. I'm still on 1.24.401.2. I used the 1.10.401.23 in the first post.
Have anyone else tried to downgrade with non root?

My HK model got an update today to 1.24.400.03 and devcheck is reporting 61% deep sleep.
I have had almost none since the update from 1.10 to 1.24.400.01. the .03 update seems to have solved this.

Downgrade has nothing to do with root. You have to be S-off.

Thanks for trying mate! Unfortunately the link is giving me the OTA RUU file, basically what I'm trying to find is only the stock recovery.img file for the specific version.

Ok, I understand; still wanna give you a heads up. If you download the RUU file representing your version (1.24.401.7) you need to use the RUU_decrypt_tool to be able to extract the recovery.img
This link might give you the information you possibly need.
I hope it helps you; I know what it feels like not having the .img-files if you, sort of, stuck

Wow! Thanks for this one when I'm free I'll try that and will update you. In fact the phone I'm using is working out fine. This is a Demo unit for commercial purposes and by default demo content keeps running in the background and wipe out Data agressively..I unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP, and mount system partition and deleted the Demo file manually. The reason why I need the img file is for me to restore the stock recovery and try if it's gonna work. I've done on my U11 and wanted to give it a try on my plus version..

If you extracted the recovery_signed.img file rename it to recovery.img, just to be shure (I did) from there on its just "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" (without the quotes)
can someone help me get the stock recovery for htc u11 plus 2.19.401.2 EU.
Thanks
