If you're on latest Oreo fw (.51) and have twrp recovery installed, just follow the instructions. And If so, please report back here later.
I'm planning to create a systemless version with a magisk module, so we don't need twrp to get it working. Stay tunned!
Edit: This ^^ does not seem like a good idea due to the startup queue of the magisk modules, but I'll check this out anyways when I have some spare time! Do not stay so tunned
Thanks Serajr. I'll try it in a few hours and report if it succeeds

Thanks bro... but no, it won't (unfortunately). It'd be in case the fix won't be necessary.
The fix itself must be present in the system way before magisk starts to do its bind mount task, otherwise system won't boot (in case user installs xposed framework magisk module).
The best thing to do in this case is staying with your excellent TWRP, and simply flash the zip

Confirmed working for xz2c. Haven't had time to set up modules (need to go to birthday party now) after downgrade to Oreo. But flashing the Fix/framework went through without problems.

Thanks for your feedback! :good:
Modules may indeed cause issues, so take care on which ones you install. Xposed log always shows us what's going on.
Most recent versions of FB Messenger app crashes due to conflicts with Xposed Framework. It has been reported on XDA.
This can be temporarily fixed using the october 27 version of Messenger: download here
Use this version (this is the latest working version) and do not update it (disable its autoupdate in the app and in Play Store app)
lol... master serajr I was waiting for your reply in private and missed this thread!
so wonderful I enabled now xposed also in my xz2c thanks to your fix, you are the man I love you!
now the phone is perfect... I have date in status bar, dt2s in lock screen, actions for navbar buttons, separate volumes, skip tracks etc etc etc

Really? How can I reproduce that here?
I don't use FB, but for testings purposes I installed both FB and FB Messenger from Google Play (latest versions) and got no errors/crashes/fc (my wife logged in the apps). Ofc I don't have any FB related xposed module installed.

Enough said really. If you don't know about GravityBox module, you can use it to perform a good amount customization on menus, button actions, lock screen, etc. For example, 30 volume step mod, circle battery with percentage, randomization of pin numbers on lockscreen, extended power menu with reboot options/screenshot/screen recording, etc.
Grab the regular (NOT the non FBE version).
It can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-gravitybox-v7-0-0-tweak-box-android-t3653953
If you don't have Xposed systemless installed, download and install the sdk25 version (download zip and add module from magisk manager) from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
As always, Xposed systemless framework enabled will cause SafetyNet to fail. So if you want to use Snapchat, Android Pay, Pokemon GO, Mario GO, new versions of Netflix, etc.; you'll have to disable the framework and then reboot currently. This hasn't been an issue for me so far!
Have you had any luck with any Magisk's modules? I can't get them to work. I can't get any black out apps to work via TRWP flashing either. It's gotta have sitting to do with the a/b partition, right?

The Xposed framework systemless v88.2 is the only module I actually have in magisk. Most magisk modules don't seem to have been updated for the magisk systemless 14+ betas.
Ok, after a couple of reboots, I got a few of them to work. BusyBox, Greenify, and the black themed injected YouTube back ground playback (which is amazing BTW) are all working now. Although, my phone doesn't pass safetynet now.
Does status bar colouring work on GravityBox on the Essential? I ask because colouring the status bar black across all system and apps would basically give an illusion of equal top and bottom bezels but with light up notifications and icons which imo would look pretty cool and hide the camera notch.

If yes, then download xposed installer( see the first post) links have been included, and install xposed through that installer.

Android 10 comes earlier than expected, but there's no twrp to flash Magisk to gain root access. I tried to use SAR method to patch boot image, and it actually worked:
Requirements:
- A PC with ADB environment setup. * If you are using macOS, try to use a Virtual machine instead.
- XperiFirm to download Android 10 firmware.
- Magisk Manager App.
- unsin.exe program to extract sin file. Download here.
Instructions:
1. download the latest Android 10 firmware from XperiFirm, the current one is 52.1.A.0.532
2. open the downloaded folder and find boot_X-FLASH-ALL-B6B5.sin file. it may vary on XZ2C, but it surely will start with `boot_X-FLASH-ALL` .
3. drag the boot_X-FLASH-ALL-B6B5.sin file over unsin.exe to extract boot image, then you will get boot_X-FLASH-ALL-B6B5.img in the same directory.
4. Copy boot_X-FLASH-ALL-B6B5.img into your phone.
5. Install Magisk manager app, and make sure your phone is connected to the internet
6. Press Install → Install → Select and Patch a File, and select boot_X-FLASH-ALL-B6B5.img
7. Copy the patched image from your device to your PC, then flash it with fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot_a magisk_patched.img
fastboot flash boot_b magisk_patched.img
fastboot reboot
after reboot the devices, your XZ2 is should be rooted, but it probably not pass SafetyNet Check, you can use MagiskHide Props Config Module to fix it.
I can't find the way to leave the boot image and patched boot image down below as the attachments, but even if I did, I still suggest to do it manually, just in case I am an idiot and it might broke your phone.

This is independent of any android version.
Unlocking the bootloader means erasing all important cert keys, image enhancements (both on screen and on camera) and revoking the security verification of some applications.
Thanks for posting this! Figured I'm chime in with my experience:
1. I'd recommend wiping userdata when upgrading to Android 10 - I don't know if this is strictly necessary, but I do know that I haven't experienced the unresponsive fingerprint sensor issue others have mentioned, or any other issues.
2. If you want to use Xposed modules like GravityBox, don't install EdXposed! The versions in the Magisk stable repository are not compatible with Android 10 and will bootloop, and even the beta version 0.4.6.0 from https://github.com/ElderDrivers/EdXposed/releases doesn't work with any module I tried.
3. Fortunately, https://taichi.cool/ works perfectly with GravityBox! Install it along with its Magisk module, and then install GravityBox Q beta 6 from https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-gravitybox-v10-0-0-beta-1-android-10-t3974497.

@everyone who is interested in getting EdXposed working with Android 10
You need to add the following Magisk modules:
1. Riru - Core 19.6 from here
2. EdXposed-SandHook-0.4.6.1 from here (not the YAHFA version!)
Further you need to install the most current Xposed Manager app from here (the default Xposed Installer app won't work, so deinstall it!).
After a soft reboot, it should work :good:
Most probably it'll break Safety Net (have a look inside Magisk Manager). As a workaround, you have to open Xposed Manager and black-list the following:
- Google PlayStore
- Google Play Services
- Google-Services-Framework
Reboot system
Done!
> Apply your modules (maybe not every module will work. I have successfully tested AFWall+ and XprivacyLUA)

Hello, thanks for this little tutorial !
However, on another thread, ppl aren't singing the same tune ! Look at this answer that I get. @Ænimal explained me that YAHFA version should be better, especially if I want to use XPrivacyLUA.
I guess I should follow your instruction, but I downgraded my XZ2C to Android 9 from 10. I don't know if it will work as you.
I tried with this version of EdXposed : magisk-EdXposed-SandHook-v0.4.6.0_beta.4471.-release.zip and after installed Riru succesfully, I installed SandHook v0.4.6.0 and I get a bootloop issue on my phone.
So I guess I have to try SandHook v0.4.6.1 and if it doesn't work I should try YAHFA v0.4.6.1.

I've always used to install YAHFA builds till android 9, with no issues. So, while you're on android 9, YAHFA is the answer!
SandHook builds, on android 10, FOR NOW, seem to cause less error than YAHFA (at least in the logs - verbose/modules), that's why I'm using it.
But, as soon as EdXposed's dev releases an android 10 YAHFA fixed version, I flash it!

Backup TA
Thank you for your post
Sorry for going offtopic, but can someone give info on how to safely backup TA? I spent two days but couldn't find any info on how to do it on (at the moment, latest) stock Android 10 (52.1.A.0.532) on H8324 (XZ2c).
The way I understand for this root procedure to work, I need to unlock bootloader, and that means losing DRM keys. Is there any info on how to restore bootloader and DRM keys after I finish rooting my device?
I tried to:
1) Downgrade to stock Android 8.
2) Use backupTA_v2 or FlashTool to backup TA.
But that doesn't work.

Hello there,
If you unlock your bootloader on Android 8, DRM keys will be lost on Android 8 so you'll lost camera definitely.
However, on Android 10 and 9, you won't lost DRM keys. Take care, you'll loose camera preview on Android 9 with this version of build and lower : 52.0.A.3.84.
So better to upgrade at least to Android 9, and the lower firmware where camera isn't bugged at all when you unlock bootloader is Android 9 (52.0.A.8.131).
Conclusion : for rooting your device, you need to unlock your bootloader. If you're running on Android 10 (build 52.1.A.0.532) then, everything will be ok, I did it myself and everything worked fine.
If you need more help on how to downgrade your firmware, just let me. Personally, I didn't like Android 10 so I came back to Android 9 (52.0.A.8.131)
So, if unlocking bootloader on android 10 we won't lose the DRM keys or any other functionality?

Hi,
with pleasure I share the module for center/right clock in the status bar, the module is created by @Tulsadiver, tested by me on Oneplus 7 Pro with firmware version as specified file name.
ESSENTIAL PREREQUISITE: BEFORE INSTALLING THE MOD, IT IS NECESSARY TO INSTALL, IF NOT PRESENT, THE "OVERLAY MOUNT FIX" MODULE BY @Zackptg5 DOWNLOADABLE FROM MAGISK MANAGER, WITHOUT THIS THE CLOCK MODULE WILL NOT WORK!
It is a magisk module and I want to repeat that it can only be used on Oneplus 7 Pro.
The module can only be used with the firmware release indicated in the file name, it will be my commitment to update the thread with the release of future updates.
I'm trying it and it doesn't seem to show any problems but I still recommend making a backup before trying it.
To remove the mod, simply uninstall the module using magisk manager or, if this is not usable, from recovery twrp, using the file manager deleting the module "OP7_VrThemer_OPSystemUI" that you find at the following path:
/data/adb/modules
Update: How to remove the module in case of failure (procedure valid for any magisk module):
Turn off the phone by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds.
Turn the phone back on.
After the "Bootloader Unlocked" warning appears, press and hold down the "Volume up" and "Volume down" keys at the same time, until the startup animation appears.
The phone will boot correctly but will be operating in "Safe mode".
Now restart your phone normally.
The phone will boot in standard operating mode but with all magisk modules disabled.
Remove the magisk module that caused the problem and enable your other modules and reboot one last time.
The phone operating as if nothing had happened
My biggest, massive, THANKS go to @Tulsadiver, for sending me his xml file with the modifications necessary to obtain the movement of the clock and for passing me Its VRThemer module, without your help I could not have avoided the bootloop ... I can say that the mod is all from @Tulsadiver, the mod is all the result of his work and his expertise, I have only been a tester and shared his fantastic work with you.
Thanks also to @dladz, for giving me his support and advice!
Attention each module you find in this post is specific to the firmware indicated in the file name, with each new firmware it will be my concern to release the new updated module.
Flashing always at your own risk!!!
To be installed only with Magisk Manager, if installed by TWRP it does not work.
Please read all indications before proceeding with the installation, module has been tested and is working on the OxygenOS 10 and OxygenOS 11 based firmware, NOT tested with other firmware and non-OxygenOS based roms.
P.S. To complete the information, I have not had the opportunity to try the same module with other firmware versions, it could work but I have no way of knowing, if you decide to try remember that it should only be used on Oneplus 7 Pro with firmware OxygenOS 10 and OxygenOS 11 and that you do at your own risk. I test the module with the firmware specified in the file name before publishing it, if it is here for you it means that it has not given me any problems.
Flashing always at your own risk!!!
This sounds awesome. Thank you very much. I know it's a lot to ask, but would you be able to make a version that moves the clock to the right? That would be truly amazing if at all possible

work in progress...stay tuned
Added to the first post mod for right clock and updated the module for center clock (if you want to update remove the old release, restart and install the new one).
I await your feedback.
Thanks to @Tulsadiver for his patience in supporting me and for his great availability!
New update of the "center clock" module, fixed clock displayed in the lockscreen defect, I recommend removing those installed up to now and replace with the latter released
Thanks for the mod. I tried the right clock mod but it did not work. Just to be fair, I tried on stable OS 10.3.5 and NOT on beta OS. Mod installed w/o any errors and I can see this mod installed in the Magisk Manager but clock is still on the left side. Rebooted twice, still no go. May be the beta 18 OS is the only OS that support this module. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

Sorry my mistake, try like this:
Remove the right clock module
Restart
Install "Overlay mount fix" module by @Zackptg5 from magisk manager
Restart
Reinstall the clock module
The overlay mount fix module is necessary for the mod to work and I forgot to write it, sorry.
I await feedback

I know it worked for someone else but it really messed up my phone. Phone boots fine but screen is dark i.e. no display anymore. I am on OS 10.3.5 and the current Magisk 20.4. I'll use the fast boot zip when I get home to bring the phone back to life. Thanks!

Go to recovery, with the integrated file manager function, delete the module "OP7_VrThemer_OPSystemUI" that you find at the following path: /data/adb/modules and reboot

That did the trick. Thanks for your help. My phone came back to life and working fine
So, is it safe to say that right side clock module only work with OS 18 beta and not the latest stable OS 10.3.5?
Thanks again for your help.

Happy it's back to normal, it's a trick to keep in mind for emergency situations.
The change itself is the same for all versions of oxygenos based on android 10, it probably changes something else in the apk and as a consequence the .xml file compiled with the mod, crashes your opsystemui.
I sent you a p.m.
I can confirm that mod works fine on Beta 19 as well? Thanks

Great news, however as soon as I update my phone, I check that there are no major changes related to the apk and eventually update the modules to avoid instability.
Just a simple magisk module to make put the clock in the center.

Troubleshooting
------------------------------
Magisk module failure.
This works for any magisk module failure.
1. Power off your phone by holding the power button, then turn it back on.
2. As your phone gets to the bootloader warning screen, press and hold volume up and down and continue to hold until the phone shows the boot animation.
3. You'll boot to safe mode, simply reboot once more.
4. On the next boot all your magisk modules will be disabled, remove the problematic module, and re-enable the functional ones.
Original mod made by @Tulsadiver @dianoandr & @dladz for the op. I just pretty much copied and pasted his OP. So thanks for that
tested this module myself, absolutely massive thanks to them for this.

Tried. Works great! Thanks...
Small suggestions:
Can you reduce the padding from the top. Now the status bar occupies more space. Also can ss be included with hh:mm?

I'm not sure. But isn't the latest global 11.0.6.7? Correct me if I'm wrong
I tried the module on 11.0.6.7, looked like systemui kept crashing. Was able to disable the module.
