Hello,
on my Honor 8 (FRD-L09 / C432) the notication LED in the speaker is very weak.
On daylight I have to take an extra look to see if the notification LED is on or off.
Does someone have similar problems or a solution for that problem?
Just to make sure, have you tried cleaning the LED? It's recessed, so it really easily gathers dust and dirt (especially if you have a screen protector). A quick gentle brush with an old toothbrush might help the situation.

There's no issue, the LED is weak on the Honor 8.

Hi Guys
Does anyone know what the indicator light that is inside the recessed area for the front speaker for? I have never seen it light up, and have no idea what it's supposed to be used for.
Thanks!
the ambient light sensor
It's a light sensor.. this question allready covered here.
The display's backlight auto-adjusts (can be disabled tough) with the help of this light sensor
HAHA. I can't tell you how many times I looked at my phone trying to think of where the light sensor is. I heard that light described as an actually light, that blinks for certain occasions.
try searching next time
but...you are talking about the light sensor. the notification light is around the dpad
Is there not a notification LED for the Charge? You know, when you get a message or something? My Droid X had an LED indicator light that would flash until the phone was checked. For the life of me I can't seem to find where to enable/disable this? Please help.
It does not have a notification LED, quite disappointing for such a high priced phone. Just like the galaxy S2, even with its insane specs and high praises they still couldn't manage to put a notification LED, I'd rather have that then a front facing camera
You can use the free app NoLED if you would like a way to simulate having a notification LED
The led not being there has been a big con for me but if that's the worst I guess I can live with it. I would not reccomend using led "simulated" apps as your battery life is killed by them because of the screen being in the on state

Ya that is true, I'm also pretty sure it keeps your phone from sleeping since the screen is on which of course means even more battery drain. Just recommending a way to simulate the LED though I'm hoping someone makes an app to just have your back LED(for your camera) do a small flash every 15ish seconds, sure most people set their phones face down but still!
Missed Message Flasher works for me with few complaints.
NOLED I didn't care for.
What are the small circles up at the top of the phone on the right for? Photo sensors of some kind?

I'm thinking they are sensors to detect light and adjust your screen brightness and I know one of them detects when your face is in front of the phone while on a call to prevent the screen from staying on..
Hello everyone,
I'm thinking to buy this very good devices but I read on some italian sites that there are some batch that have notification led bugged.
I'm explain better: they told that the led is shifted from the normal position and isn't so visible as other batch.
Anyone of you have this problem?
BR
nope, mine is at the right position and works well

Thanks.
Can you do a photo so I can compare with the one that I will buy today?
Will seems strange but on internet there aren't any photo of the one s notification led.
For me hte LED, comparing to the Desire is less noticable
I don't know if this is a bug or a feature, but the led is definitely too back behind the ear-piece net.
Just got my grey one s yesterday so not sure what is normal what is not in terms of notification light.
My light is located at the second row of the speaker holes, the 5th hole from the left. it is yes quite small compared to my incredible s, and during daylight, you have to be close to the phone in order to see it.
Is it normal?
This is my same location of hte led as well

my led is in the same location and it is much less visible as compared with my 2 years old desire...
The problem is not where is the led, but the fact that notification is still buggy after update 1.78.401.2: the other morning for example I had 3 emails but there was no led blinking. Others too reported led not working or working just for the first 5 minutes...

I have the opposite problem. My LED flashes for new emails, but does not stop when I access the mail app! (Still on original 1.53 base).
Have some problem.
LED blinking for a few minuts and after don't blinking
Mine is just fine.
Mine was useless. You can't even see the led from the sides, only when u look pretty much straight at phone. Led is behind the speaker grill.

Also coming from Desire, this is a topic of concern for me as well, since I usually look at my phone from an angle when it isn't in my hand...
Same issue with the One X

good and cool idea as far as design goes, but most definitely not good for notifications
Mine is international unlocked, but with french CID. The led is too down and catches up just the first row of holes on the grill.
I must say it's completely unusable. I'm looking for a way to hardware fix it with some light conductive material.
Maybe a software patch to boost up the LED current will be also needed.
On HTC Mozart it's also under the speaker grill, but it's way to bright compared with the One S one.
mine works except I notice it only blink for like 5 minutes and turn itself off.
Mine is kinda useless, since it's almost impossible to see it unless you hold the phone in your hands...
Hey,
I have bought myself an Xperia XZ today and I noticed a kind of red dot blinking on the light sensor, I guess near the light sensor. Is there a way to disable it? Since it's a bit annoying

It's the ambient light sensor (infrared)

You can remove it if you disable adaptive brightness in the screen settings
When I have auto brightness on, sometimes the brightness suddenly goes up very high then drops back to normal.
Sometimes it's the opposite it gets very low then back to normal.
And sometimes it doesn't go back to that sweet spot it was at.
It stays a bit more bright or less bright than it were.
It's really annoying.
This is of course under the same light condition.
In a couple of circumstances:
The device was still on the table.
Holding the device with one hand from the bottom under a blanket.
Gaming in landscape mode with both hands.
Does anyone have this issue, a software issue maybe?
or is it possibly a hardware issue with my unit?
I don't even know where the ambient light sensor is on the poco f2 pro.
Happens to me too. But it's still better than my old RN5 - there the auto mode is useless, always too dark.
Hello
I have same problem
Ambiant sensor is on the flash led, you can see two leds for camera and the third is the brightness
This device is very bad for this feature, same for the proximity sensor, under the screen and poor efficiency, screen Lights up again during call

Yup same with proximity here
But as for the ambient light sensor it turns out there is not one but 3 (2 on the front side and one on the back)
Xiaomi is calling it 360° ambient light sensor.
It's supposed to be one of a kind.
Only the poco f2 pro has this.
But apparently it is poorly implemented.
The hardware is pretty capable but software needs a lot of work.
Hopefully this gets fixed in future updates.

Yes I saw this so called feature, But I think it's bull****, there is only a sensor on the back, hence the fact that the screen turns off when you put the device on a table..
Under the screen, with the sun you can see the hole of the fingerprint sensor, the hole at the top of the proximity sensor, and the touch screen, nothing else
I think it's a bogus feature, a bit like some devices where you realize that one of the photo sensors is just a dummy
