Just recently took delivery of a Pixel 2. It seems that the text size of my notifications are inconsistent. Some notifications appear as I would expect them to. But other notifications appear with extremely small text. I've played around with all the system notification settings and app notification settings and I still can't seem to figure out why this is happening.
Anyone have suggestions for how to correct this? I'm currently running the December 2018 security patch on Pie.

Hi xda,
i'm having this problem since I got my Oneplus One in October 2014.
My notifications don't show correctly like you can see in the pictures attached. This only happens when i have notifications from multiple apps and it even happens in the popup notifications.
Let's say i have one notification but with multiple "entries" (e.g. 5 Whatsapp messages from the same person). The notification is automatically in "expanded mode". Now i get a notification from another app, and all notifications shrink to the size of a "not in expanded mode"-notification and they somehow screw up like in the pictures.
Does anybody else have this problem? I'm on 05Q, but as i said, this problem isn't ROM depend as far as i know. It isn't theme dependent either, as i've already tried it with different/no themes applied. I hope you can help me
Best regards, bannix
edit: huh, I forgot to link the images:

When I receive a text message (using Google's Messenger), the screen lights up and I see the notification on the lock screen. After 1 or 2 seconds, without any input, the notification disappears before I can do anything. This has caused me to miss several (somewhat) important text messages because when I go back, the notification is no longer there to remind me to check my messages.
Any suggestions of how to fix this?
Same issue on LG V20 running Android 7.0. Started with Hangouts messages only and then spread to SMS/text messages yesterday. heads up notification displays for fraction of a second before disappearing. Same behavior with notification icon in notification bar. Shows for split second before apparently being instantaneously dismissed. Expanding notification shade shows no notification. I thought it was my messaging app Textra, but full uninstall re-install did not fix. Tried reverting to stock Android messaging app, still no fix. Reverted from Nova to stock Launcher, no fix. This is maddening! Sounds like it might be an OS bug, but your the first person to post something exactly like I'm experiencing. Hopefully more find this and report. No fix as of yet that I've found.
I had a chat with Samsung support where basically they had me first boot into safe mode to ensure no 3rd-party apps were messing it up (they weren't). Then (in regular boot mode), I had to enable all disabled apps (AT&T bloatware). Then, I enabled notifications for all apps.
This fixed my issue well enough. The notifications appear, then go away after a second, but then immediately come back. It's still quirky, but now the notifications are persistent.
My Verizon Note 5 just updated to Nougat and I'm finding an annoyance with the new Notifications functionality. Is there a way to have the top notification expanded by default and not have to manually expand every notification? Seems like Marshmallow used to do that but now Nougat always displays every notification in collapsed view and the user has to manually expand them every time. What a pain the rear. Any ideas on how to fix or work around this?
I received the OTA upgrade to Oreo, 2 days back(In india). Phone has become snappier in opening apps.
But, i have noticed a really important feature missing in the Samsung's Text Message app. It no longer gives option to 'Mark as Read' or 'Reply' from the notification panel itself(which was introduced in Nougat).
Whatsapp and Gmail still gives the options in Notification Panel.
I have attached the screenshot as well.
Can anyone help if this can be rectified.
Is there any specific option to enable the same under Messages > Notifications ??
I have just noticed that the 'Mark as Read' and 'Reply' option under Notification panel comes for messages sent from Mobile numbers. Even if 'Reply' is meaningless for non-mobile numbers, 'Mark as Read' option should be there for all Text message Notification, but its not there since upgrading to Oreo.
Can anyone confirm the same?. Or is it an issue on my phone only?
My flip 3 cover screen often displays the orange notification dot even though there are no notifications when i swipe to check. It makes me check my phone far too often and is pretty annoying overall.
Does anyone how to fix this?
I can't seem to find any information about the issue anywhere else.
Check what notifications you have appearing. The orange dot will appear for most notifications and foreground services by default.
Settings -> Notifications
A bug for sure, happens to me all the time as well, an orange dot but when I open the phone, no new notifications or opened apps whatsoever. Hopefully it will be fixed in some of the upcoming software updates.
Yes this is very annoying happens to me all the time with WhatsApp messages. I'm also noticing there's a delay in my whatsapp and gmail push notifications. Compared to my old pixel or iPad - those are pretty instantaneous.
