AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we are now LOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>

* Your warranty is now void.

* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

Kernel is in extreme alpha stage. Any bugs of the ROM is most likely caused by the kernel. They'll be solved soon. I wanted to use retrokernel but I haven't received any reply from @makorn645 yet providing the permission
1. Kernel doesn't support f2fs yet. (Added to my todo list. Fix will be up soon, you can use @makorn645's retrokernel till then. Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4411193&d=1517912742
2. Kernel doesn't support adoptable storage. I'll probably fix it but it's not a priority. You can just use retrokernel or link2sd.

Thanks for reporting. I didn't get time to test it out. I will test his kernel and include it instead in next builds after trying (It'd definitely be better than this one since I made this in around 15 days. This was just an alternative )
Great work @AndroX99. AICP was one of the best nougat ROMs for our device until it became EOL. Can't wait to try this out

Problem about the model
I have a question, my phone model is N7505L (L of latinoamerica, i guess) and i dont know about the differences between the 7505 and this one, so can i install this rom in my phone?
Pd: The only difference that i know is about the 4g bands, and that is not problem because the 7505 supports the band 7 and that is in my country.
Fix the bugs in AICP too @FireLord . It will be easy as you have completed cm.

It is. At the end of it, but it's there.
Is there a recommended way to update? Other than dirty flashing new versions?
im confused in what kernel should i choose,is someone have a direct link ?
im getting crashes in gamings ,
Can I ask you a question? what is the difference with the nougat and the actual bootloader
Inviato dal mio Mi 4c utilizzando Tapatalk
i've updated my aicp version from 0227 to 0302 and it fix system freeze problem that i've got on build 0227. But there's something that doesn't work for me. It is wifi. On build 0227 i've connect to my wifi without any problem, but on 0302 build, it always 'obtaining ip address'.
Anyway, thanks for the great work.
*edit: nvm, wifi problem is fix

You don't have any choice. Just flash the ROM. Give us logcat from the crash. Make sure you are using the latest version.

Nougat uses device tree appended to the kernel. Device tree contains hardware specific configuration.
The device tree can only be appended to a gziped kernel. Gzip is a compression algorithm. It seems like the lollipop bootloader doesn't support gzip compression. Either that or we couldn't get it working.
Moving to nougat bootloader is useless for custom ROMs, since we don't need to use it for the ROM to work.

That's the recommended way.

All right, now I know about this... In order to use AICP, how can I get back to lollipop Bootloader? Is there flashable firmware available? I don't want to get back to miui any more...

You need to flash the version of MIUI which can be unlocked from fastboot.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4c/general/guide-unlocking-mi4c-bl-verification-t3336779
It will downgrade everything.
Then you can root, install TWRP and flash a custom ROM.

On the latest 3 builds or so i'm getting partial freezing and then rebooting in different music players. Its happening when i'm changing songs and it's random. Log attached.
I'm updating via OTA, should i try clean install ???

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
With the rebrand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now actually LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:]
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see, if your device is build on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them (as long as they are LOS based), but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm for SDK 25.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, your preferred root solution and reboot. Or you might just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. Boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again if you don't want to loose root, and then reboot.
A2. LOS based kernels sometimes come as a flashable ZIP file too. You can flash them together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue, if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, clear Cache & ART/Dalvik cache and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. How do I enable software buttons?
A. Settings -> Navigation -> Enable navigation bar. The bar can be configured separately in its settings.
Q I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A Check this out, if that doesn't work for you ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just flash Magisk again!
Q I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the root section in the AICP Extras menu.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Nougat. You don't need to install any Add-Ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended)
3. Wipe system, Cache, data and ART/Dalvik cache
4. Flash ROM Zipfile
5. Flash/Install GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work)
6. Flash/Install the root solution of choice (optional)
7. Reboot to system
The ROM has GApps persistance in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)!
Supported root solutions:Magisk v13.x
SuperSU - stable and beta available (Site by CCMT that took over the the marketing from chainfire)
SuperSU - direct download link for the latest SuperSU directly from the dev (chainfire)
Lineage SU-addon (check your needed version: 14.1 arm or arm64) -> the removal zip is available here too.
KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows LAOS source with custom additions from AOSP.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:To be able to flash using the buildin OTA app that needs TWRP recovery installed to work.
You can still use LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. Zip gets saved in the "AICP_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery.

no offense but can you really use it without throwing out every 5 minutes?
Miui 8 + Root(Xposed +Miui Tweaks) beats most of the combination. :cyclops:
Minor bugs than of Lineage, etc.
Thanks, great work.

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!
Until Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we are now LOS-based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
*/
Feature list (rough Overview)
In the beginning we would like to thank:
LineageOS & CM (R.I.P.) team
@maxwen and the rest of the Omni team
DU team
SlimRoms team
Resurrection Remix team

@LorD ClockaN
@zipsnet
@eyosen
@semdoc
@Drgravy
@Hashbang173
@SpiritCroc
@wartomato
@eboye
plus the rest of the crazy bunch that we call "team"
...
We are paying for servers that build nightlies/weeklies and everything that comes with it, so EVERY DONATION will really be appreciated and be used to cover those expenses.
Thank you!!
Latest Stable Release Version 12.1
Download link: AndroidFileHost
Google Apps:
Open GApps
None that I can verify, but if anything please do leave a logcat.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Nougat. You don't need to install any add-ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Play Store to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update) as long as the instructions of your
root solution do not state something else (="persistence on dirty flashing") !
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk v15.x
KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows LOS source with custom additions.

Thanks, I like this ROM good work thank you.
The rom is really awesome, with a lot of nice features. But unfortunetly i'm having wifi drops while the screen is off, even with wifi set to always on. That's a problem that occurs to some people in all LOS based roms apparently. The only custom roms where this doenst happens on my phone are the ASOP based ones.
But anyway, the rom is great, thankyou again.
oh my..new os for our i9515, really thanks ranger
Will this work on an 1545 OF1 build?
theres no messaging application, only email
@mostevil94 is right. I didn't even notice it because I use Signal for both encrypted and unencrypted texting, but I guess at least the stock Android messaging app should be included. Other than that, looks like a pretty stable and stylish ROM. Unfortunately after I started full encryption, I ended up in a boot loop. Before that everything worked like a charm with Xposed + FakeGApps (microG).

Yeah, that's an AICP thing. Still kinda puzzles me tbh.
i appreciate a lot the full support of substratum engine, its a crucial elemental feature that los missed.
forgot to mention one key ingredient. if you use gapps instead of microg alternative you have to flash the aroma package in order to prevent the automatic removal of aicp applications that i consider essential, googles ware is crap so id rather keep gapps including only gplay and support for yt which microg hasn t. but i encourage microg and hope theyll make a possible yt support further.
You might consider NewPipe as a FOSS alternative for the YouTube app. I absolutely love it, as it doesn't use the YouTube API nor Google Play Services. It even has additional features like download and background player.
So as it goes, development for AICP Nougat has halted entirely. Unfortunately that means no new builds. The thread will be marked as both stable and discontinued from this point forward. I'm looking to get Oreo working in the near future, but don't hold your breaths. I'm pretty new to this whole process, to be quite honest, and I appreciate the kind words of everyone. Additionally, I might or might not post a build of CrDroid soon. We'll see. Thanks for the thanks!
there is no need for upcoming updates as far as this rom is bug free and it has the latest android version available for our device

So am i the only unlucky one with wifi problems? Could it be my baseband? If it would not be a problem, can you tell me what is your baseband?
