I haven't seen much on this screen protector and had to add my experiences. In my opinion this is finally the "perfect" screen protector for the note 9. Its a little expensive but totally worth it. I have two Note 9's and I have installed one on each phone. I ended up getting one that had a small imperfection causing the one side to lift overnight but after a few emails and pics to RhinoShield they send me a new one for free. They did have two different ones listed on their website but right now I only see the one thats full adhesive. The install is a little different than most but not hard and the alignment tray they supply works great. I would watch the install video so you can get a perfect install. The only cons I noticed is some dust can collect on the sides but not as bad as the dome glass. It also has black borders and the sides seem to get cut off a tiny bit. This isn't a deal beaker because the edge panel still works perfect. This is not an edge to edge but I prefer that also so it works with any case. I have tested it with the RhinoShield SolidSuit and Crashguard as well as two Spigen cases and it fits perfect. The SPen feels great and touch sensitivity is also very good (I did turn on the increased touch option). After trying a TON of screen protectors this in the end all for me. I was very surprised to not see any real reviews on this one.

It is full adhesive. That is what makes it so good. No rubber feeling from a wet install no messy LOCA glue and no stupid edge glue that pops off if you look at it wrong. This was my install method I was able to do two like this with ZERO bubbles. Im kinda OCD with screen protectors.
1. Clean (DUH)
2. Place alignment tray on, clean again and use dust stickers that are included.
3. Peel off protector back film and place the screen protector on the phone but dont press it down.
4. Once its aligned in the tray perfect I used my knuckle and ran it down the center of the phone.
5. Slowly run your finger/knuckle from the center towards the edge but going up and down the phone evenly. These stick with more of a "tacky" glue unlike the "static cling" from most full adhesive glass protectors. If you get a bubble make sure to work it out as you go even lifting it up to make sure they are out. Once its stuck down I dont see them every working out. You will see what I mean when you do it.
6. When you get to the curved edge it will stop sticking and leave almost when looks like a bubble from the top to the bottom along the edge. I just started at the center of the edge and pressed the screen down SLOWLY all the way to the top and then the same from the center to the bottom. Do that on both sides and sit back and enjoy your work.
Im convinced there is not a better protector out there including Dome Glass. I even bought an extra for backup if anything happens to them.

And I looked on Amazon but dont see it. They have the one that's just the edge glue. But don't bother with that one.
Going to order on and test it out with some optical adheasive. So the glue they use is it like the gel that Zagg uses on the elite? I like the full cover of this one.
Never tried the zagg one. I thought I read reviews on that one and they wernt that good. You really won't need to add anything to this one. Just don't leave any bubbles as you Install it thinking you will get them out after it's all the way on.
I'm going to order one also. Sounds kind of like the Elite but I'm praying it's not.
Nah Zagg elite's work great. Just idiots don't know how to install them. My beef is Zagg makes a great product...then goes out of there way to gimp it. The black bezzles are absolutely horrible. Cuts down on your screen size and even installed perfect you get a little light leakage.
Ya I hear you on that. This one has the black borders that suck but as long as I can still use the edge panel and I dont see bubbles I'll take it any day.

I've installed many of full adhesive protectors over the years and I'm no idiot. Never have I seen a glass protector that cracks as easy as the ZAGG Elite.
I will try the Rhinoshield and see if it's any better than the Elite. I like that the sensors are covered with the Rhinoshield. Just ordered one up.
Is the alignment tool a plastic border that goes around the phone like Zagg uses?

Ya it's just a plastic frame that you put on from the top and it has little tabs to center it. It's simple but works good.
I'm pretty easy on my phones and don't ever really drop them but the glass on this one seems pretty good. We will see how it holds up on the woman's phone she is a little rougher with hers. I'm glad you ordered one so I can see what someone else thinks about it.

I would be interested in this also... If these idiots would stop making these worthless curved screens it would be all good. Just got my wife a Moto Z3 and it's a nice phone thinking of getting one also to have a flat screen again.

I agree and absolutely hate these curved screens. The one thing I liked about the iPhone XS Max was the nice flat screen, full adhesive protectors went on like a dream.

I bought the RhinoShield tempered glass protector a few month ago and came with no frame to put it on the phone, and was only border adhesive with only top and bottom black borders.
But on the side on randomly on the center of the screen, the same ugly rainbow effects we usually got (and dot matrix too).
The bottom left corner had issues since it wasn't responsive anymore either (probably due to the inability to put it correctly because no frame to help even if all seem to be symmetric).
Not satisfied.

I believe Rhinoshield had both an edge sticker like you received and the full adhesive version. I ordered the full adhesive ones.

I just see they provide now two versions. On their install video, they provide an installation frame for it too.
I won't try the experience I think, especially when it said that it's not edge to edge

I'm not fan of plastic protector. Not smooth enough for use with swiping, plus it really attract dust.
Ya they did have two versions. I never bothered with the edge only glue because they all seem to suck. I'm telling you the full adhesive one is by far the best one I have tried so far. It's not perfect but its as good as we will get because of the curved edges.

Ok, i've had a problem with it, first i removed the protector that was as large as the device and made the screen very ugly, then i got the one from the box and putted it on, every air-bulb was gone when i kept rubbing etc.
1 stayed, under that bulb there was something white, i found out it was a 'piece' of dust.
It was kind of annoying so i removed the screen-protector, now when im trying to put it on i get lots of 'dust-bubbles',
Anyone has an idea of how to do it or should i just leave my diamond without the screen protector?

Personally i prefer to have a screenprotecter on my device. I can recommend invisible shield. its very durable and will not be scratched. check it out on www.zagg.com
If you remove the protector, then there will alway be dust next time, because the dust get stuck to the protector glue. (I have also remove mine several times)
I have tried zagg, but I can't recommend it. It is a little sticky (which they also says on their homepage) and I don't like that. The floating feeling is gone. It is also not that invisible.
I have selected to buy a new original protector, and will use that.
The trick to get it on without bobbles is to start on the long edge and then slowly add it. (Keep the 'paper' on as long a possible).

The original is washable. Wash it and dry it with a paper towel that sucks in the water bubbles, wipe dry and clean your screen and reapply it.
By the way, this goes to Accessories forum.

I did this and the dust keeps coming at the protector and my phone and there will be bubles because the dust gives it a 'height-problem'..
I bought invisible shield for mine, its pretty nice after say 4 days from install.
For first 2 days it might seem really bad but it gets much better.
I somehow scratched it without even noticing it, so I sent picture to zagg and they sent me new one. Even though scratch was very minor.

i have a diamond and i remove orginal screen protecter because i write sms with letter recorgnizer and the area that i write words on the screen become white and scratch. i remove orginal and buy a new one that for iphone. i cut it for my phone size and apply it. its sooo much stiky and i have a problem like orginal one.i wnat to remove it and when i do it a tiny layer of glue stand on my diamond screen. i can't clean it. and it give a bad scene to my diamond.
what's your idea. i give u a pichture from my diamond screen.
Perhaps you could use isopropyl alcohol, usually it will remove glue without damaging the plastics surface (in that case: your display). DON'T USE nail polish remover, acetone or even benzine, it will remove the glue too - but your display would look "milky". You can get isopropyl alcohol at the pharmacy.

I've got a Sprint Diamond too, and didn't think I got a protector either, but it was in the separate bag that has the manuals. It should have come with one...Wish it woulda come with an extra one too, oh well.
I had the same problem with misalignment and dust bubbles with the HTC protector on my first few tries...i did however fix the problem...
Take the protector off and clean off the phone...use a microfiber cloth to get all the dust and oil off...after its super clean...take the protector and wash it off with some mild soap...rub the soap in with your fingers and get it clean. Be sure to note which side is down. After its clean, hold it around the edges and let the water bead off...i blew on the protector to get residual water off...some water is ok...actually helps with the install...the basically carefully apply it still holding the sides making sure not to leave finger prints. Start from the top and work your way down... i used a credit card pushed against the microfiber cloth to squeegie the protector down...be carefull with the few drops of water. After you have it down...there might be little bubbles or what looks like water spots where water is trapped under the screen...dont worry...just use your phone and leave it alone. Once it heats up from the excessive phone use it will start to dry up and the protector will come out very nice and smooth. Mine is flawless and i did the wash with soap apply and remove at least 3 or 4 times to get it right...Just be patient

My HTC one got a nasty scratch in it last week, so I ordered a Martin Fields.
It arrived this morning and I've got it on without any problems. So far I've noticed:
- It's not a perfect fit like the HTC one was. The hole for the speaker at the top is larger than the hole in the phone. It's not bad though.
- The visibility of the screen does seem better than the HTC protector, but I don't know if it's just the placebo effect of having a more expensive protector.
- It was _easy_ to put on, no bubbles at all
- The protector for the bottom buttons is awful. The circle is just the right size to completely hinder using the touch wheel and it's obvious that you've got a piece of plastic on there.
- It seems smoother than the original HTC one when using the stylus.
So far I'm impressed with it. I didn't bother with the camera hole or bottom hard buttons. The in box HTC one was fine for me, but when I got a scratch on it (my stylus somehow developed a sharp edge), it annoyed me.
I'm using the one supplied as standard with a uk CompactIV and it's great- you can hardly tell it's thereand the sensitivity seems fine.
I have 24 diamond screen protectors. Because i bought 24 diamonds and sold them all without screen protectors so i am sorted untill i buy another phone.
After using the martin fields one for a couple of days, I think it's great.
The screen looks much brighter and clearer through it (I thought the HTC one was great, but I do notice the difference). Plus the smoothness is brilliant, theres pretty much no friction for the stylus or fingers

I can safely say Invisible shield is not a good solution. Generally anything that adheres to your device runs the risk that your finish will lift off if you ever decide to remove the shield.

want the best protector? Buy a psp HORI Protector, cut to size. 100% invisible and only a knife will scratch it. 2 for .99 on ebay
I'd also love to hear people experience with Best Skins Ever. I'm a sucker and always buy the zagg.com stuff, price = quality after all... but would be willing to grab a BSE skin based on peoples reviews, as the markup on zagg.com is ridiculous.
One thing, I dislike with the zagg.com skins is, after a while the protector appears as if it has a gasoline like stain in the middle of it, symmetrical to about half an inch away from the edge of the screen on all sides. So basically a mini rectangle on the inner portion of the display. Any else experience this? and does the BSE have this tendency?

I've been using Invisible shield by Zagg since I bought my Diamond and I completly agree with Lokosis. I also feel the corners are becoming a bit rough, it looks like someone can just pull it off.
* Doesn't fit into my HTC pouch anymore (see picture attached).
* Attracts a lot of dust.
* Don't need a bulky case anymore.
* Gives the back cover a shiny effect.
well yesterday i received my best skins for diamond. i must say delivery was really fast but a little disappointed. i'll tell you why later.

I bought a full cover from invisible shield about a week and a half ago but am still waiting for it to be shipped to me since I live in Australia and there is not stock here.
Didn't realize there was a cheaper alternate to it. I've got to say I'm a bit worried after just reading that post that says it can damage the screen when you remove it after a while...but hopefully I will never have to remove it

nothing to wory dude. even i first bought IS and den after an hour got to know about BSE so i ordered that too. i'd a talk with IS ppl and they say that when i receive the item, then i should take out the screen guard, put it in envelope and send it back to there address. thats it. they said they dont need the box of spray or anything. just the invisible shield in an envelope. and as soon as they receive it, they'll refund you the money. sending it back in envelope is much cheeper and you save alot. so order BSE now and wait for IS to arrive and send it back

I just got the screen one and not the whole case skin because I own an o2 Ignito which has a lovely-grippy-rubber-feeling-matt-black back cover, although it is not as sexy as the standard Diamond my wife has.
I was honestly quite disappointed because it is expensive and honestly looks crap compared to cheaper alternatives.

I have it on my Orbit (it's a PSP screen protector, I opened the Orbit and cut the film on the proper size of the display, once re-assembled you can't see any edge at all) it's impossible to leave fingerprints and it is anti-reflection.
The Diamond one is gloss finishing instead, it costs € 8 on eBay (german seller but ships worldwide)

Well it stuck to the screen, just that the edges are supposed to bend and protect the sides too and no matter how long i held the edges in their positions for they would just unpeel themselves after a couple of minutes. Gave up on the screen, the rest all went on easily and without any visible bubble thingies. I'm not sure if I really care enough to get a new screen protector for the screen, I was more worried about the back of the phone to be honest
Still kinda dissapointed that the screen protector ended up failing for me

i really don understand where u guys fail. i understand that d edges don stick up but it takes half an hour effort to do it. its easy but takes times and u constantly hav to make it stick.
rest both BSE and IS are great. the point is to make it wet properly and den apply.
the only issue i had is that the IS solution went in my front camera screen and has made it blurred.
rest both are the same according to me.
also to be noted that you do not need to use IS spray. instead you can even put your IS in soapy solutions and apply it like BSE.
the aim is to 1st attch is properly on front screen. let it dry and then bend the edges.

I used enough of the solution, got it lined up perfectly with the phone. It was the edge bits that have to be bent to protect the sides where I went wrong. Just couldn't get them to stick and stay stuck properly for some reason

it takes alot of time for sure. for half an hour i kept trying and thought maybe the adhesive wasnt strong enough. but there are two things, 1st you have to use alot of spray to smoothly allign it on screen and then this excess spray avoids the sides to stick onn. so patience, repeated efforts and only when the solution dries up, that is when it starts to stick onn. very tough for sure but in the end it pays off.
BUT the diff bet IS and BSE is that BSE only covers the screen and does not cover the sides so there is no bending problem like IS.

In that case I think I might buy one of the BSE. I think that trying to protect the sides is simply too much effort and is tedious. Besides that, the sides are fairly scratch resistant and you can't even see those scratches if them do occur without having to look for them anyway. I really think IS should have skipped trying to protect them or made a second piece to go around the outside.

its best not to have spray. as spray gets into front camera and spoils it. best to use simple soap water.

Here is my experience. I had a InvisibleSHIELD on my iPod Classic and it was great so I was considering buying one but after reading some of the the feed back it seemed that the product was good but the fit for our diamonds and even the iPhone (which i am now looking for) was not great.
I then heard about BestSkinsEver and because it was so cheap decided to go ahead and try it. I got it over 2 months ago and when I received it I applied it immediately. I have done a few of these so and since I am some what of a perfectionist I applied it to the best I could. It looked OK but after a few weeks the corners started peeling. Also due to the way the backing is placed it puts stress in areas which causes other areas to lift off (this is mostly on the corners). I ended up using a nail clipper to start clipping areas that were peeling off. After about 2 months it started to peal even more so I decided to go back to the reviews and see what was available. After doing some research I decided to go with the 12 piece BodyGuardz. It came in a set of 2 which is nice when i transfer the phone to my wife.
So all of this is to tell you that my first impressions of the BodyGuardz is well as good as I felt when I put the InvisibleSHIELD on my first iPod Classic. For me it did take a while (about 2-3 hours) to apply. This was not done in one sitting but instead because it was a 12 piece I applied each piece with 10 minute intervals allowing for tackiness to set in and so it would be easier to handle as I continued with the many pieces. First major thing I noticed and was really happy about was the BodyGuardz stickiness was considerably more than the BestSkinsEver. It stuck to the corners almost right away. Although throughout the process I did press down on the corners it was quite a bit easier as the BestSkinsEver did not have good stickiness. Also on a side note when i removed the BestSkinsEver it came of like a sticker which i know from my previous iPod is not normal and it usually takes a lot more effort to get it off carefully. Overall I am very happy at my first impressions of the BodyGuardz and the quality of the material seems to be better than the BestSkinsEver. Not to mention the 12 piece may seem like a lot of work but having individual pieces allows for no stress on the film in weird areas allowing it to sit flat with no parts lifting off (so far, i'll update in a month or two). Which is not the same case for the BestSkinsEver and from what I hear the InvisibleSHIELD. Newayz I hope this review helps someone.

I never sprayed the device only the shield itself. I would not recommend spraying the device. That said I do like the spray on the shield as it is a bit more even but you can use any spray bottle. I got one with Bodyguardz but there was not enough fluid in it so i had to fill it up with my own solution newayz.
Can anyone recommend a good brand of screen protector? I went with case mate, as I had one on my desire HD and was very pleased with it - it fitted great and even after a year it still had plenty of life in it.
However the one that turned up for my sensation is rubbish, it only covers the LCD area - no protection over the capacitive buttons, and I keep catching the top when swiping the notification bar, so it's lifting up already.
Ideally I'm after one that will cover the whole screen, and isn't cheap and nasty.

I have the OEM HTC ones I got from Expansys. You get two of them. I don't remember how much they cost though. I think you can get them through htcpedia.com as well.

They fit pretty exact too FYI. Any mm off and you gotta redo the stinkin thing lol. It took me a good 20 mins to place it on the way I want it. I mean if you are off, you will get some bubbles in the corners, but they fit the entire screen. There's a write up in this section back when the Senny first came out and everyone was clamoring in which screen protector to get. Some like others, I am happy with the OEM ones. I still have it on to this day. I have one hairline scratch from keys that can be seen in certain angles, but other than that, the protector is great IMO.

I like Zagg, but I tried it back for my ol Nexus One and the outer skin/protector was nice, but to me the screen protector was too hazy for me and also a little tacky for my taste. Did they change the material for the protector?
well to tell you the truth i think theyre material might have improved a tad bit in quality but its like everything it does wear out eventually with time but i can understand the hazy part it does tend to be a little bit a problem for me
Best thing is still using no protector. Tried several and always get the feeling my touch is less responsive.

i bought the iprotect crytalclear,
the distance from the corner to the screen protector is quite big (picture added) sometimes your finger gets stock, if you try to pull down the notification bar or using swipepad

Well the HTC screen protectors (2 pack) arrived today, and again I'm slightly disappointed. On the plus side they are lovely and clear, and cover the whole of the screen. It's also very thin, so doesn't feel like its hampering the touch input at all (although my previous case mate screen protectors were thicker I never felt they effected the input either).
The biggest downside was that because they are so thin, they're near impossible to fit. After carefully peeling off the backing, you just cant hold the thing. It Took me forever to apply the first one, and subsequently it had one bit of dust trapped under it in the middle of the screen. Not much, but I'm a perfectionist! So one down, one to go... I peeled it off and tried again, this time I was rewarded with two specs of dust... But they were over the capacitive buttons so I'm willing to live with that.
The other problem I had was that the screen protectors were glued onto the packaging and if I'd just pulled them off they would have creased and been ruined. In the end I cut them off gently by sliding a sharp knife underneath them.
So, in conclusion I have a semi decent fitting screen protector on but I won't be buying these again when it reaches the end of its life.
I would highly recommend the Skinomi Techskin. I use them on all of my devices. Same concept as Zagg but they are a little thinner and the screen still retains the 'glass' feel. For me the Zagg is a bit too much and my finger drags on the screen at times with it.
The fit on the Sensation is perfect and installation isn't too difficult.

Have you tried the tape trick for the dust? It's always best to put screen protectors on somewhere dust free like the bathroom. Always wash your hands before as well.
And I myself took a good 20 mins putting on mine because of the exact fit of them. I had to take off and reapply like 7 times. But I got the hang of it as of now. And if you are greeted with specks of dust, get a piece of scotch tape. Lift one end of the screen protector with another piece of scotch tape that is closest to your speck(s) and then use the scotch tape in your other hand to stick the particles from the screen protector or screen itself. It takes some finesse but it can be done, I have confidence in you! :victory: lol
Here's a more recent pic of the HTC screen protector. Thanks, I created it with the inspiration from cvdesignlab from mycolorscreen. The lockscreen is widgetlocker which consists of three UCCW widgets, which I created the call/email/text(each has hotspots to the corresponding app) and battery charging widget, the weather widget in the middle reporting on my local weather, which has a hotspot, when pressed, goes to my weather app of choice.
And a "hotspot" is a term by the app creator, meaning when created, the corresponding hotspot will auto open any app you direct using the UCCW app.
And the time is a simple edit to an existing clock found in the UCCW thread made by the author of the app. Oh and the calendar right below the weather is my minimalistic text widget I created because I almost missed a dental appt a few weeks ago lol
There are a bit of parts to it but it has all the info I need at first glance without needing to get "into" the phone.
i use Ishieldz, and its the best screen protector i've had!

If you have trouble getting the edges to settle. Apply the screen protector as best you can. Then grab a hair drier, set it to hot and from about 12 inches warm up the phone. Keep moving the hair dryer as you can burn yourself. Keep doing that while working the edges down with your other hand. I have big hands so I can hold the phone in my hand and use my thumb. Eventually they will stick.
I too have BS ebay screen protectors and the reason it covers only the LCD area and not the entire face is because of the curvature at the edges.
I haven`t been using anything for almost a year and my screen is perfect...
So my idea worked and i now have a full adhesive screen protector. Covers from edge to edge and there is no halo effect. The protector is on good and does not peel/pop out. I am using a unicorn beetle pro full body case and no problems. Before the case would pop out the protector but not anymore.
What exactly was your idea?
How did you manage this? (For the people that haven't been keeping up with your posts, such as myself.)

One of his older posts discussed using LOCA. If you use LOCA, how do you get it off if you ever want to remove the screen protector?
Yes I used LOCA glue. To take it off you just heat it. It should be easier to remove than when replacing the digitizer.
I got a couple air bubbles though but id rather have that than a scratched up screen lol

I was just thinking about if this was a solution two days ago, but this is exciting news that its worked. My question is, is the LOCA a problem to handle, because i could see using too much might have some go into the speakers or just seep from the borders. when originally applied. and is there a way to make sure we don't get bubbles?

Yea i got a little on the speaker but you just have to be care full and as it seeps kut clean it with a rag. The good thing is that it wont dry until you put the black light on it. The part you have to be the most carefull with is the home button. Loca will make it sticky and a little harder to press. I also reccoment you get a protector that is completely clear as the one i got has black on the top and bottom and it prevents the black light from drying the glue under those areas. Clean the screen good. To avoid bubbles look at youtube and see how they apply it. Basically a stick figure but instead of a head it is a y shape. Carefully place the protector and let is slowly spread on its own. Once it stoos spreading then you could slowly press down on it and remove the remaining bubbles. I lined uo thw home and back buttons first and made sure the cut outs were aligned for the camera and sesors. Then i applied the black light on the bottom half furst so that it would align properly. I did this while pressing down on it because the air bubbles kept coming up. I also covered up the top half so that wouldnt dry up. Oncw i got the bottom i got rid of any air bubbles on the top half and did the same. After that i put the phone in a box., close it up, do a cut out for the black light to fit and let it sit for a couple minutes to dry more. Then i cleaned and dried the edges. Make sure not to leave too much of the loca in between the screen and protector so you wont get touch senaitivity issues. And do it where there is no dust. I oly got 1 small air bubble but some like white spots that appear to be dust. And again clean the speaker, home button, sensors, and camera before drying. You could also just scrape it off with a plastic blade that the loca came with. And make sure to use liquid version and not the film.
So I have said this from the start. Whitestone has cut major corners on this product. I knew this from the first "Review" if you want to call it that because no one has reviewed this. They just make install guides and try to get you to buy it. The dead give away for me was when they sell it at around $40 when proper UV adhesive alone would cost $20 and the amount they give you would be $40. That's bulk prices. I work in the opto-electronics industry so stuff like this is what I deal with every day.
So I did some test. Using the stock Whitestone cure light, A UV oven, a Spot cure UV station, A Dymax cure station as well as others. When I took the protector off you can tell the adhesive never fully cured. This explains why you get the delamination what looks like bubbles to some or a kinda web look.
In one of the pictures marked spot cure. You will see the dot that is a proper optical adhesive. You see why the included adhesive turned to gel the stuff we use was fully cured. Both were exposed to the same light for the same time. If you use this I guarantee you will never get delamination or have a case light the protector up. But keep in mind that one tube of that is $20 but it shows how cheap the included adhesive is

No UV cure station I have here can fully cure that junk. And it is junk. I have seen some cheap UV adhesive but this is by far the absolute worst.
I will do some more test with this adhesive. I don't even think its optical grade.
But if Whitestone wants to send me some samples of adhesive or some kits i'll be more then happy to test them and post my findings. But from the 2 kits I have seen. First had delamination the second kit direct from Whitestone aka Cellto USA in Torrance California is 100% total trash.
And here is a video of more uv light then will ever be put on this adhesive. Note that adhesive was from my first kit. So 2 kits one from Amazon the other direct from them and neither one of them could do a full cure.

I was hoping for a good, glass screen protector it looks like Whitestone is astroturfing reviews and even comments here. Maybe they are inconsistent in production causing the disparity, but after doing research on it, I skipped Whitestone.

I'll get back with a part number and link to some good uv adhesive. Then just get the Whitestone replace the adhesive with that and it will be good to go. Install the same cure the same. Just gotta check a few adhesives out get one that flows well and gets a good cure off the oem light.

If you are going that route, might as well just get a cheaper glass screen protector, strip any adhesive, and apply your own. Since it doesn't seem effective at drop protection, the only concern would be possible lackluster screen sensitivity. No need to pay a company for doing a bad job and cutting corners on a "premium" product.

You could but the little tiny bumps on the bottom of the protector help get an even coat of epoxy. You can do it without them but those would help with it.
But depending on fit the Zagg with the little strips of 2 sided tape might be the best bet. I just don't know how it will fit. I might have one laying around I can dig up and test with some uv adhesive if people really wanna see how that would work. Should be the same for any other one since they would all have flat bottoms without the little bumps.
Ok video is uploading. I test it against some ok optical adheasive. I might have to upload it when I get home. I made it to show that the stuff was fresh from the vial for the Whitestone and the optical adhesive I used was crap and it was expired. Here are some pics of it at 380x.
And I must say. The stock adhesive I dont think is optical. Because this was some pretty cheap optical adhesive and as you can see it's better.

Showing delamination at 380x proper adhesive won't do that. It just fails. This Dymax also made a stronger bond and it was even expired. Also note the optical propertys of it even failed are much better then the delaminated oem.

Bought a 2-set of Whitestone Dome for my Note 9, and I installed the first one and for me, it was perfect..? I made the mistake of using the Gear VR with the old adaptor (Note 8 fit) that puts pressure on the bottom part of the screen, so I got the bubbles effect on a tiny horizontal strip around 1mm high by 10mm wide. But other parts of the protector are amazingly smooth. I don't understand what is not ideal here. I believe you are warning us about something that is ****ed up, I just don't understand what..?
EDIT: also please recommend the good enough adesive, if possible at all, available at amazon.co.jp too.. I can use the second glass from the 2-pack

@gamekill, the left image shows the problem with the whitestone adhesive. Can you see the spiderwebs already? That is what I was getting. Whitestone sent me a replacement, but I had to pay for shipping (12 €) which I regret for doing. Their excuse is to blame the user.
@bignazpwns, how difficult is to remove the screen protector if you use a stronger UV adhesive? This whitestone one comes out very easy.

Little tied up at work so ill do some more testing this week. Company I work for is a huge player in the 5g market so we're pretty busy. The picture shows delamination. That's what happens if you push on it. The adhesive does not fail because it's like a gel. It will streach. That give you that webbing or bubbles as some call. Stronger adhesive fully cured won't streach. You can push and you won't get any delamination. It will hold until the adhesive fails. So with your gear VR that part pushing on it would not happen with high quality optical adhesive. Keep in mine that line is 100um. The slide each line is 10um. So looking at a gear VR you are getting some distortion with the oem adhesive. Pixels on the note 9 are red 22um blue 24um and green 14um. So using a gear VR with the screen and oem adhesive the picture will not be as sharp due to the low quality of the adhesive. Will it be a huge impact? Probably not but it will be there and under magnification you can really see how poor the adhesive is. Under magnification the adhesive not being optical quality acts as a defuser for the light. Look good until you start to add magnification. I haven't looked at it with a gear VR because I don't have one but I know what optics they use for hmd's and you will start to see that it actas as a defuser.
Adhesives I'll test a few we got here and get some samples and test them. Removing even with a stronger adhesive should be fine. I don't know of the protector will come off in one peice but it when I poped the slides apart it wasn't like the Whitestone's oem that was like tar. This was a hard snap at the point of the adhesive failing then it lifted off.
I got a spare done screen protector. I'll clean that up and run some adhesive removal test on it. The oleophobic coating on the note 9 will help with that removal.it won't be as strong as a pure glass to glass bond like on the slides. But it can be removed. And we use methonal to help remove it on some tiny fiberoptic lenses.
But as soon as I can I'll get to more testing. Grade some adhesives on holding power. We have a machine that can mesure the force required to break that bond. And if tell you what adheasive to use if you want something like the strength of the oem or if you want something a little stronger for a case that likes to press against it.
I should have some time this week to do some test and let you know know what adhesive to order and where to order it. I'll be using the oem Whitestone dome light to cure it so my results will be the same you can get at home.

Yes, on a thin horizontal area at the bottom center part, right above the USB port. That is where the Gear VR connector pushed against the screen.

It would be nice indeed to use a better adhesive and not have that problem!
I have a question. If we use a stronger adhesive and when time comes you'll break the protector and if we try to remove the protector, will it damage the original glass in the removal process?
I'm also interested i. This because my current protector lost some adhesives on the curved edges.

That is my concern. Screen protectors are supposed to be replaceable if they break. If when they get broken or removed,the original screen gets ruined, it is meaningless.
Also, if an adhesive is super strong, wouldn't if make the protector grip so strongly to the screen that if the protector shatters, the screen gets shattered too?

That's using our stuff for a permanent bond lol. I got some other stuff here that's about 40% stronger then oem but I was able to get it off no problem. I ordered the liquid version of it we use a gel version. Same adhesive ones just a gel. I'll get it on the. Pull it off and let you guys know how it is.
End of the year and the upcoming 5g were pretty busy here.

It's about bond strength. I got some stuff that's better then the oem. I can peal it out. Then I got some good stuff that holds 10x stronger then the oem...that will come off...with a ton of force. So I think I found the sweet spot. Checking out a gel version to see how that goes and if it will offer some impact resistance why still maintaining touch sensitivity.
When I pick the winner I'll do a video installing and the. Removing it to show everyone. For the love of God don't just put some on. Most atlre permanent and if you don't know what the propertys are just going with optical uv adhesive you will get something for the fiberoptics industry thats used to hold lenses on fibers.
