Android TV sideload compatibility list
Hello all android TV people we need a list of apps that is compatible with our devices.
especially for paid apps it would be nice to know before buying them that they work.
I have tried some of the i already own, will buy some others if no one can tell me which works.
Please report both working and not working, with a link for the web play store, and what device it has been tested on.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City works with a controller. Tested on NVIDIA Shield TV.
MotorTrend: Stream Hot Car Shows Does not work, i cannot get past the privacy prompt, because the screen keeps changing rotation. Tested on NVIDIA Shield TV.
Total Commander - file manager works with remote. Tested on NVIDIA Shield TV.
FINAL FANTASY No controller support.

Buddy you can check in google play if app shows up it is compatible else not........
Also you can sideload and check if it works or not......
Google Play says TDKR is not compatible with my P3113. But was able to install and play it smoothly. There were some occasional crashes, but still was able to finish the game.
You can not download the game from Google Play if it says it's not compatible with your device. You'll need another compatible device (mine was HTC glacier) to download it and copy the APK and data files from there to your tablet.
It may have just been me, but I had no idea there were unlisted games in the play store. I accidentally do a search in there and up pops 3 to 5 games that aren't among the regular dozen. They're seemingly not android tv optimized, but they're there none the less.

You can install any app that otherwise wouldn't be blocked due to lack of a feature (such as touchscreen)
All the tv store does is not give an easy way to navigate to an app not whitelisted on the tv store.
Just go to the web site, and tell it to install chrome, it should install but it doesnt actually work with the remote (i've tested this on my ADT1, the NP should be no different)
Yeah i've already got chrome and side loaded a few apps. I was still just surprised to find hidden apps. I would buy modern combat 5 but mc4 controls lag.
I wanted to download warband again to the portable after i rebought it (first one had too mmany issues and got refunded as the store didn't have it anymore)
But when i now want to download the game from the play store i get some weird issues here:
1: play.google.com shows the game as "installed" which means i own the game but the shield portable is not in the list even when i just added my google account onto it
2: When i first entered the appstore to download the game, it then says the payment failed like the shield thinks i don't own the game.
the heck is happening here? I also just updated the portable to the latest update.

I just got a T95K Pro Android TV Box and I am trying to setup RetoArch with Kodi to play retro games. Figured this was a better solution than setting up a retropi.

My problem is that I installed RetroArch from the play store and when I launch it, the interface seems to be locked. I have tried using a mouse, keyboard, ipazzport keyboard, snes style game controller, xbox 360 controller, generic genisis style controller and still can't select anything ont he retroarch screen
I have tried the latest nightly builds of retroarch. nothing is working.
any suggestions?
