I have ASUS tablet K01E with Android 4.4.2 and run Bubble Upnp since 2 years to stream music from a Ds215 Synology NAS as server. Both App and NAS are kept updated. From 1st day everything worked fine, very good. I use ASUS just for this purpose. Suddenly 2 days ago album cover art didn't show anything. Just the day before was ok and the day after was ko. Nothing has changed in the meantime, no updates, nothing. If I try to force the display tapping on cover area, it shows "Error downloading image from server". Of course all files in NAS are present and same as before: using a similar App like DsAudio by Sinology covers are displayed perfectly, but unfortunately this App has not gapless playback. Please help

Hello!
I bought HTC Media Link HD and it works very well with my One S. However if I have understanded it correctly I should be able to hook it up on to my PC as well and play videos from there. I just cant figure out how to do it.
I have a desktop computer and windows 7 on it. That is connected on my router which has a wifi. And the Media Link seems to have connected to it since I can see the name of my home network in the idle screen from the Media Link when my phone isn't connected to it.
Do I need a certain program to my PC or how do I set it up?

I'm trying the same thing. As of now, I have tried using the Windows Media Player "Play To"-function, and it works really good!
You can share images, video and audio to the media link. just right click any file, and it should be in the menu, i guess. It shows up here!
Next step is to share the desktop or share from browser, or something. I'm working on that. I wanna stream youtube videos and much much more to the tv screen! Twonky is so far the only solution that works 'kindof' the way i want it to.
Do you not have a flat panel hd tv? I just connected everything and can display "desktop" and YouTube video play fine.
Why would you want to connect to your computer? Just curious

Sure I have flat TV, but the problem is that computer is bit far from TV in another room and I would need about 30 meter long HDMI cable to connect it to the TV. So thats why I would like to get it working wirelessly.
I managed to get it working with windows media player like embql said, but the problem is that video is not running very well. And Iam not even talking about any Full HD clip, but just a DVD quality one. Speed of the video keeps changing, sometimes it runs bit too fast, then it slows down and sound gets out of sync more and more the longer I let it play. Same thing happens if I play the video from a phone. Funny thing is that if I play youtube video from phone it runs great even with HQ quality or trailer from the IMDB app with 720p.
But my TV broke couple weeks ago so I got a new one which has DLNA and by using it I can play videos from the phone or PC without problems.
Help with this setup
Hi,
Could you please tell me how you connected to your Media Link HD through WMP? I activated streaming of media and keep trying to detect it with no luck. The Play To button says no media devices detected. I tried doing that both when my phone was connected to the media link and while it was not. I also connected directly to the Media Link HD's network on wifi but it still didn't work.
Thanks,
Mohamed

Do you have the media link connected to your home wifi?
I have my computer connected to my modem by cable and media link is connected to it by wifi. Then all I need to do is to use the "play to" option from wmp and media link shows up in there.

Ok it just turned out that it was having issues, tried it again today and randomly everything worked beautifully! I just wish WMP gave us a better interface to the Media Link where I could control volume a little better and maybe even skip tracks with the shortcuts I have set up. I'll give video and everything else a try soon!
Hi
I have a Samsung Smart TV and I keep nearly all of my movies etc on microSD in the phone.
If I set up DLNA media server and connect that way to the TV I get a lot of errors due to incompatible codecs etc.
If I use Throw it works fine on the TV but the issue then is that the phone screen stays on and you can't lock the phone... Not ideal if its a 90 minute film...
Anyway around the issue?
Hope no one minds me posting this here, there isn't an E4 section yet and I figured this would be the best option.
I have spoke with sony about this over email, but they just sent me a very generic response about how throw works, leading me to believe they didn't read my email at all.
I am wanting to use the throw option to throw music to my WDTV. I have turned off automatic selection, as the first thing it goes to for that is screen mirroring, which while it works fine is a bit of a battery drain just for music where I don't really need the screen, since you can't turn the screen off during screen mirroring. So I want to manually select DLNA, which both my phone and the WDTV have.
Interestingly when I turn off the automatic selection it still only picks up my WDTV box for screen mirroring and not DLNA. However, once I have music playing via screen mirroring if I open the family guy game and play for about 5 minutes the music in the background will go off, then when I close the game the screen mirroring has turned off, but everything is still being broadcasted to my WDTV and I am able to turn the music back on and the screen off and have everything continue to be broadcasted. I have been doing this several days now and it works every time, so not a coincidence, it seems the family guy game is somehow triggering it to enter DLNA instead of screen mirroring. Its very strange.
I can also connect to WDTV via wifi direct, which to my understanding is DLNA, in the wifi advanced settings, and I can connect to WDTV via DLNA in the media server settings, so the devices are recognising each other via DLNA, but not when I am trying to throw something.
Any clues? For now I can keep using the family guy workaround LOL, but its not ideal.
Thanks in advance
Edit: Forgot to mention, I am unrooted, running 4.4.4
Also sometimes screen mirroring and throw will turn on when I don't want it to, can't figure out how to turn it off though
Now often when I am near the wdtv it pops up in my status bar every couple of minutes that its connected. Starting to annoy me
Received an update the other day, but this issue is the same if anyone has any ideas
I still am stuck on this and would appreciate any help with getting my stuff to connect via DLNA without the annoying workaround, and in getting the throw function to turn off properly when I am done.
I use
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...cut&pcampaignid=APPU_1_taLCVY2bI4GMwgTzlYyQBg
Thanks, but it looks like that is simply a shortcut to open screen mirroring, I already have toggles for both throw and screen mirroring in my pull down drawer so that's not my problem.
My problem is that although I can use dlna/WiFi direct to make a media server, to connect in general to transfer things, and to throw stuff in sonys official apps by using the button actually in the app, if I use throw to stream third party apps like Google play music it will only connect via screen mirroring, unless I use the family guy workaround I mentioned in the first post.
Since it works with that workaround it is clearly a possible thing to do, I'm just trying to figure out how to connect that way straight away.
Hello everybody.
I've been having this problem for over a year now. I have a MiBox 3, it's the 2018 model I think. The problem is when I'm playing a video from external storage on MX Player, all of the sudden, the MiBox restarts. It's completely random. One time, I did a factory reset, installed the few apps I use and the very next day, restart in the middle of a video. But another time, after several reinstalls, the MiBox lasted 4 weeks without restarts.
I tried everything to fix this:
1.- Different versions of MX Player: official and modded versions, old, new, different settings, you name it. Different video players work but they're crap next to MX, they don't have the functions I need. I don't use versions past 1.32 because there are a couple of implementations they did I don't like and it's impossible to change them on TV, only in mobile devices.
2. Allow and block internet access: for some reason if I disable WiFi the MiBox lasts longer without restart than connected. But eventually it always restarts. I tried third party apps to block internet access for MX Player but the app breaks, it doesn't work either.
3. Lots of factory resets: mostly after system updates. With the last one I think the MiBox starts a little faster but the apps work the same.
I don't do streaming so I only connect to the internet so the MiBox sets the right time. That's it. I unplugged it when I don't use it because it keeps the light of the portable HDD on, and it really bothers me.
4. Downgrading to Android 8. I'm pretty sure this started with the upgrade to Android 9. I did the downgrade last night but that brought old problems back: that awful bright dot on the upper left corner of the screen (extremely noticeable because I have an OLED TV) and the impossibility to write content on the external USB drive. So, I'm back on Android 9.
Anybody has a suggestion???
Thanks in advance.
hello, I apologize if there is already a thread, but I could not find it. I have an Nvidia Shield TV Pro; MX Player Pro automatically disconnects the external USB stick, not allowing me to see the files inside. other media players work fine
Same problem here. Came to this forum looking for a solution. Since NVIDIA upgraded our Android to v11, MX Player Pro is broken. I want to die. It is my main app for watching videos from an external USB disk. Some plans on updating the app?
Same problem on different boxes (Amiko A5/Android 7 - Yoka BB2/AndroidTV 9)...
...could be a permissions problem ?
I suppose the problem is related with permissions in any way. However, in the NVIDIA Shield TV with Android v9 the app worked perfectly. Something has changed in the permissions system so a lot of apps stopped working until they have been updated. I was wondering if there is any update for MX Player Pro on the near future.
We've just tested mpv-android and NOVA (both of which supports hw-acceleration like MX) on same boxes and none of them suffer of this issue.
Came here with the same problem. Just got my Nvidia Shield TV Pro a few days ago, and only just started looking for a solution to this issue. That is, I go to browse my USB harddrive then *bam* magically at that very moment, it gets disconnected. This can also be seen in the NVidia settings > Storage before and after going into the MXP file list. Happens every time. I reconnect my drive, gets recognised by Android, then back into MXP and it gets disconnected again.
The only info I can find related to this so far, is the issue where hard drives disconnect when the Shield goes to sleep. But that's a different issue which I believe has been fixed recently by Nvidia anyway.

Same!
I found a generalised reference to this issue at :

That is to say, that when giving permission "Allow only while using the app", it gets treated the same as "Do not allow". Including "X-plore File Manager", which I'm pretty happy with, though it struggles with large Zip and WinRAR files.
And here I reach a dead end, because I set mine to "Always allow". I did some poking around and interestingly, VLC Media works fine despite (browsing, playing, building icons) having the permission set to "Do not allow"! That's interesting (if not concerning actually). And yet with MXP, my permissions were fine and it doesn't work. Go figure. It does seem to be something with Android 11 but Android TV is a little closed-up and not sure what else I can try. VLC is "fine" - it's not a bad app - but it's just not scratching the itch like MXP does.
