You can't do a Nandroid backup of your SD card. A Nandroid backup is only for backing up the image on your phone.
Simply plug your phone into the PC, select Disk Drive and backup all your SD card data to your PC. Once complete right click the SD Card Drive, click Format. Copy data back to SD card.
EDIT: Sorry - misread the question. Same procedure really - just copy the Nandroid backup onto your PC and then copy it back afterwards. Usually the Nandroid backup and be found in the clockworkmod folder on the sdcard. The folder containing the nandroid backup is usually time stamped.
Does it mean i also have to reflash the radio?
Formatting (or replacing) the SD card will not require you to reflash any part of the phone. The ROM and the Radio are kept on the internal phone memory and never on the SD card.
Simply do as dr9722 has stated - take a copy of the nandroid backup onto your PC, then format the SD card and copy the backup back from the PC afterward and you'll be fine.
basicaly i have only 2 questions.
1, when creating whole ROM backup of my system do i need to create full copy of my SD card?(as i understand it ClockworkMod does not backup SD card) in case that after full WIPE and ROM reinstall i would like to go back to old ROM i would need it. i have a lot of apps stored on SD card.
2, when creating apps backup with titanium backup, i dont need to store any SD card data, because this is stored by titanium backup and after WIPE apps will be installed back to SD card(in new ROM)?
As long as you dont format your SD card, doing a full wipe before installing a new ROM will not affect it.
there is one app called back up and restore..
but there is only option to backup downloaded apps which are installed in internal memory not phone memory.
So is factory reset keep phone data..?? or any way to back up it to sd card or computer??
Question regarding a stock Verizon Galaxy S3, rooted with TWRP recovery installed:
My buddy accidentally wiped out all his pictures and videos by performing a "move" from the phone memory to the external SD card using the Samsung file manager. The SD card appears corrupted and now the files are no longer visible in the phone memory.
Is there a way to mount the phone partition on a PC as a drive and use an "un-delete" program to attempt a recovery of the files? Alternatively, could I somehow create a bit-for-bit backup of the phone partition in an image file that could be mounted as a drive in a PC and then use an "un-deleter" on it?
Any ideas?
Thank in advance...
Hello, I have Sony Xperia C2305 Dual SIM phone. I have the phone rooted and I have 8GB SD card on which I have moved all of my downloaded applications onto. I decided to use Link2SD to increase space for more apps and I took necessary precautions as well.
I made a complete backup of my SD card into zip format filesystem and stored it onto my computer. I have TWRP 3.0 recovery installed. I went to recovery mode and made a complete phone backup from there. (Everything including cache, NVRAM . . .)
Then, I used AIO: Apps2SD tool to partition my SD card into 6GB FAT32 and 2GB EXT4 partition as per some valid tutorial. It formatted my whole SD card before partitioning. It went smooth.
I pushed my previous SD card backup onto the newly formatted SD card (6GB) and unzipped it there including TWRP ROM backup, I setup before and restored the whole ROM. I had 100+ apps but unfortunately all those apps are in unstable form. I can see them in "Settings > Apps > Downloaded" section but I cannot use them. Those apps look like broken pieces.
One strange thing, I found is that I read "SD card apps data gets stored in .android_secure folder" but on my SD card .android_secure folder is empty and instead all apps data went into a simple folder called "Android" and unfortunately TWRP did not back it up during backing up. Therefore, it was a wise move to manually backup the folder. I restored the folder after it, I restored the ROM through TWRP recovery mode. However, BOOM! nothing happened as planned. Above problem came into being.
Kindly guide me if I can recover my previous ROM as neat and OK as I had before or If I cannot recover it then what other things I can do?
Thank you in advance!
