Can anyone help,
I cannot get my xda II to restore from my SD card. It restores the data from what I can see when I sync it to my PC but the screen remains grey. If there is no way of fixing the backup, is there anyway to access the backup data, all I'm really after is my contacts details? The file is called CompactFlashBackUpNew
Thanks
Have you tried removing sd card, then soft reset, then reinsert sd card? Also do you have the sd card chosen by clicking "open" and choosing storage card??
Just got my transformer today, its awesome. I've found one slight annoyance, being that the internal storage is infact an SD card. I use titanium backup to backup my apps but I cant seem to direct titanium to backup to the external SD. If were to install Custom roms would my apps still be intact?
honeycomb recognizes internal storage as SD and your microsd as MicroSD. if you install a custom rom you can restore from titanium still. however, i flashed prime 1.3 over stock without wiping so i lost no data anyways. basically i am just using the internal storage for /system and apps+app storage, and my 32gb sd for all media.
Go to – preferences/backup folder location and then use the backup/return arrow to navigate back to root folder (/). You should see Removable and inside that will be MicroSD if you have one inserted. Create a new folder if you like
You will now backup to the external SD.
Hope this helps.
That's great thanks, what a stupid way, I would expect the back arrow to close the window entirely. Now I just need to figure out how to get double twist to sync to the external sd.

Hi. I have just installed weapon g2x. I'm trying to restore my apps with astro and my backed up apps don't show. Can anyone help me with this. I keep navigating astro and no luck.
Come on guys. Any help?
Did you back them up to your external SD card? If you did not change the default backup location you may have issues. Did you make a backup of your previous rom with all the apps? If so, restore it and use Titanium Backup to backup your user apps. Change the default location to your external sd card. Install your new rom and then restore your apps from the external sd card.
So I'm planning on ditching honeycomb and switching to an Ics rom... I backed up all my apps using TitaniumBackup but the rom requires a full wipe and cache wipes, question is, would performing the required wipes before flashing the rom also wipe the backups TitaniumBackup made on the internal storage?
No. All that is stored on a different partition...so you're safe. Just don't use the SuperWipeFULL version zip. THAT...will wipe all downloaded stuff on the internal SD storage.
Infact...to make it easy for you...just download and use the SuperWipe Lite script from the Revolution HD thread. That's what I do...when I need to wipe.
Also you could move the backup folder location to the micro sd card.
Just go into "preferences" and change it to micro sd card

Click to collapse
Don't forget to change it back after you wipe and reinstall titanium, or it will just look like you lost all your backups since it defaults to internal storage.
After reinstalling TB, you can have it do a quick scan to pick up any folder that tb uses.
Also remember that TB stores its own settings on removable card if available on /Removable/MicroSD/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup/
Hello, I have Sony Xperia C2305 Dual SIM phone. I have the phone rooted and I have 8GB SD card on which I have moved all of my downloaded applications onto. I decided to use Link2SD to increase space for more apps and I took necessary precautions as well.
I made a complete backup of my SD card into zip format filesystem and stored it onto my computer. I have TWRP 3.0 recovery installed. I went to recovery mode and made a complete phone backup from there. (Everything including cache, NVRAM . . .)
Then, I used AIO: Apps2SD tool to partition my SD card into 6GB FAT32 and 2GB EXT4 partition as per some valid tutorial. It formatted my whole SD card before partitioning. It went smooth.
I pushed my previous SD card backup onto the newly formatted SD card (6GB) and unzipped it there including TWRP ROM backup, I setup before and restored the whole ROM. I had 100+ apps but unfortunately all those apps are in unstable form. I can see them in "Settings > Apps > Downloaded" section but I cannot use them. Those apps look like broken pieces.
One strange thing, I found is that I read "SD card apps data gets stored in .android_secure folder" but on my SD card .android_secure folder is empty and instead all apps data went into a simple folder called "Android" and unfortunately TWRP did not back it up during backing up. Therefore, it was a wise move to manually backup the folder. I restored the folder after it, I restored the ROM through TWRP recovery mode. However, BOOM! nothing happened as planned. Above problem came into being.
Kindly guide me if I can recover my previous ROM as neat and OK as I had before or If I cannot recover it then what other things I can do?
Thank you in advance!
