[UMIDIGI ONE PRO] Bad flashing, can't start download with SPFT - General Questions and Answers

Hello, new member here. I can't post this in Umidigi One Pro subforum, so I'm doing it here.
I'm trying to revive a Umidigi One Pro. It seems it's a case of flashing gone bad.
I can get to recovery (twrp) if I hold all three buttons for about 15 seconds and then relase and hold only vol+. Then I can choose recovery, fastboot or normal. From twrp I can't mount any partiton nor do successful wipe or install zip from SD card. I can't access the phone from PC if I choose fastboot.
I tried to flash it with SPFT a lot of times with all possible combinations of drivers, operating systems and buttons pressed.
I followed the instruction from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/guide-mediatek-spflashtool-failure-t2936933
https://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/help/how-to-guideline-install-mtk-drivers-t3334698
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982587
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674459
The phone is recognized by the OS, I see the red ribon, but after that the flasing doesn't happen. It time-outs in 4 minutes or so with "status download exception". I tried different computers, win 7, 8.1 and 10 (32bit and 64bit), legacy driver enabled/disabled. Also changed USB port multiple times. I've read multiple threads all over the internet and watched countless youtube videos. I also tried Linux from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ge...torial-how-to-setup-spflashtoollinux-t3160802
I understand there are a lot of threads just like this one. I read a lot of them and tried anything I could find. I'm out of ideas what else could be done to start the download to the phone. I can get to twrp so i Guess it's probably not hardware fault.
Can anyone help?

Storage Options Scroll 7" 51264 bricked Help Please!!

Hi,
A friend gave me a Storage Options Scroll 7" Model 51624 (TCC8902) with 2.1.
I found that cyanogen has a 2.3 Rom for this device so I tried to flash it.
I flashed the clockwork recovery and did my back up. Then I downloaded the rom from cyanogen and installed.
What was my surprise that when I restarted it got stuck on the main screen with the logo "scroll Storage Options"
I tried to enter the recovery but doesn't work!!!
I think my error was the rom I choose for flashing.
I used the Storage Options Scroll 7" resistive 8K, and I know now that mine is the same one but the resistive 4K.
I though I could do something if I could use the Adb commands and some inspiration but the problem is that my computer doesn't recognize the device (Android in yellow on device manager). I installed the Android SDK that has the google usb driver but still not working. I tried the VTC 5.0.0.1 drivers too but no luck either.
I desperately need some help to install the boot recovery and then I'll flash the right rom.
I use windows 7 x64 and a laptop with windows xp 32.
I've been reading the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101094 but has 163 posts and I have to say that I didn't read all of them. Anyway I did a search about bricked scroll and didn'f find anything. If someone knows where to point me at I'll be very gratefull. I appologize if my posts is already solved somewhere.
Thanks in advance
there is a guide on getting android adb set up on the pc with modified drivers somewhere...
1st things 1st though, have you tried holding vol up while turning it on to get into recovery?
as long as you installed the custom recovery correctly (which im sure you did if you managed to install another rom), then you should have no problem getting into it.
unless, that is, you dont have any volume buttons to get into recovery / they dont work!
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
To flash the cyanogen rom I had to enter the clockwork recovery with the power+vol up. So first thing I did after realised it wasn't going to load the rom was to restart the tablet into recovery but it doesn't work.
That's why I was thinking the posibility of flashing clockwork recovery again through the adb commands or maybe the boot.img (I think this img is the one responsible for boot). But as I said my computers don't recognize the device. Both says Android with the yellow warning.
I'm looking for this modified drivers but can't find them. any web site address?
I have downloaded the firmware from Storage options but as I cant enter into the recovery I can flash it.

[Q] Can't find recovery-drivers for Huawei Honor (U8860)

Hi!
Earlier today I rooted my Huawei Honor aka the U8860. Everything went good, and my phone was now rooted. However, I ran into a problem when I tried change my stock recovery to ClockworkMod recovery, which I've used earlier with a HTC Desire.
I downloaded the recovery-image posted in THIS post. I replaced this file with the stock recovery-image, which I renamed recovery_backup.img. After a reboot, I get a message on the screen that says:
"Image signature verify fail!
Your boot/recovery image may have an incorrect signature.
Please update your image to a signature official one.
You can remove battery for power down."
I removed the battery and loaded the recovery-screen (pink screen) by pressing both volume buttons and the power button when starting the device. However, my PC won't recognize the device, and can't find a driver. Windows update tries to find a driver via Huawei technologies, but fails to find anything. I've now tried to access it with 2 Windows PC, a MacBook with both OSx and Windows, and also with a Linux Mint computer.
Is there anyone with a few tricks or tips, a link to a working driver or something similar? I've encountered other people with the same problem, but none of them have recieved an answer.
All help will be hugely appreciated!
- KcDyb
Edit: Any way to change the recovery_backup.img-file to recovery.img and removing the recovery.img-file that's there now will probably do the trick! Just a thought that may bring forth a solution.
Edit2: I found a solution! I followed THIS guide, which made my phone bootable (with chinese B919). This made changing the recovery-file found in THIS thread possible, and now my phone is up and running with CWM. Now I can install any OS I'd like. All creds go to OPs in these posts.

How to root Lenovo S686

I have Lenovo Lephone S686 with following specifications. If anyone has any idea on how to root this phone, please reply.
CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225 Dual core 1.2GHz
GPU: Qualcomm Adreno203
Memory : RAM : 512MB / ROM : 4GB eMMC
Found already?
Am sick and tired of the stock....
tried 1-click root, king root, and all other root method and failed...
Anybody knows how to root this? bin4ry method did not work.
Hi everyone,
I found these instructions for rooting the Lenovo S686 from Chinese forums, you can try and see if it works. Below are the instructions which I translate from Chinese.
You need to install a 3rd party recovery, because S686’s original recovery cannot install unsigned update.zip. There are 2 kinds of update.zip, smaller one, about 1-2MB, is for obtaining root. The bigger one is for flashing the entire system. There is no 3rd party recovery for S686, but after looking at some other models’ recovery, I think we can use A765E recovery.
Turn on USB debugging. Connect USB wire. For desktop PCs, it is better to use the back USB port.
Download this: ht tp://pan [dot] baidu [dot] com/share [slash] link?shareid=415868&uk=4130114971
After uncompressing, you will get 2 files, update.zip and Lenovo_A765E_OneKeyTools.exe. Do not uncompress the update.zip. Just put it on the TF card.
Make sure the drivers are installed. Most of the time, if it doesn’t work, it is because of driver problems. You can check whether drivers are properly installed by going to Device Manager.
Installing fastboot driver: without disconnecting USB wire, turn off phone, take out the battery. While pressing ON and VOL -, connect USB wire. Most likely fastboot driver will install automatically.
Run 刷入中文Recovery (Chinese CWM recovery). Phone will reboot 3 times.
Entering recovery mode: Turn on the phone. Red LED will light up, before it goes off, press VOL + and -, hold until Lenovo logo appears. If you see Android recovery, it means the above steps did not work. If you see Chinese CWM recovery, flash in the update.zip that you put onto the TF card.
After this post on the Chinese forums, there were many people saying it works, and many people saying it does not work. I (tangys) could not get it to work with my S686. So either I am an idiot, or the guy who wrote the original post is an idiot. So please try it and post back here whether it works for you or not. Thanks.

hi.from where i can find kernel or some ROM for lenovo s686.thanks
This following method worked for me. Got ride of the bloatware that Lenovo put on there.
got the files from
www lenovohome net/thread-137736-1-1.html
some detailed instructions to setup here
lenovo zol com cn/177/1763_1767961.html
I'm a noob at rooting/changing firmware so took some extra time.
Need to setup the ADB drivers. This was slightly involved as the drivers from the phone ITSELF showed up as not properly signed. So I had to go and turn off the win8.1 check to get it properly installed. You end up with Lenovo ADB Device in device mgr and a few other Lenovo items.
Basically, there's an exe that you run (name has chinese char in it.. so it may look strange). It's an automated CWM installer. My version now shows CWM 6.0.1.5. All the text in there is in chinese.
Lastly, you flash in the update_v2.zip and when done, you get a root enabled , bloatware removed CYANOGENMOD system.
One note: when done flashing and you choose reboot, there is actually a prompt for you to "repair root". I've found that you must say yes at this point. Otherwise, root is not working when rebooted. You'll have to repair root later.
That's the good side. Now the bad side:
This phone only has 3 keys (pwr, vol+ / -) so there's currently no way to get menu button.
There is also no store in the version flashed....no sure how to install any apps
Need to resolve these issues.

accidentally formatted my karbonn a9+

i tried to hard rest my Karbonna9+ android phone. i pressed Power+volume+home button. after that there was an error displayed on the screen saying "ENTRY QPST DOWNLOAD". i quickly searched on the internet but wasnt able to find any successful link. but then my computer asked me to format the device, i thought this will reset my phone but unfortunately i was totally wrong. after the format i tried to start my phone again but nothing happened. i also tried different combinations of keys but all nothing happens not even a single pixel lit up lol. then i downloaded cherry mobile flare software and AIO flasher and all the image files and other files required. they didnt work for me too coz my laptop (windows 7, 64 bit) doesn't recognise the device (unknown device or Com5 error). i tried to flash it in fastboot in AIO flasher. it says flashing but nothing really happens even after 10-15 minutes. all the online forums i searched they say enable debugging mode on ur phone in order to reboot but i dont know how the heck i can do it when my phone doesnt even start up lol. I am left with a dead phone now. can anyone please help me out and solve my problem. and please advise me step by step what to do next in order to get my phone working please...
Try this thread and let know if its what you want.

Formatted my tablet except the bootloader using SP Flash Tool. Now it won’t recognize my device. What can I do?

I have an Alcatel Onetouch Pixi 3 (10) Wifi 8079 tablet with an MT8127. I tried flashing a twrp recovery following Kirito’s guide but I had a glitching screen in a bootloop instead, so I tried flashing another twrp providedby the same user (was named twrp-new) and instead of the glitchy screen this time I’d see the twrp logo and then it would auto reboot after giving several unable to mount data errors. I was not able to do anything in twrp.
I then formatted the whole device except the bootloader. I realize that I should now be flashing a ROM (I have all the required stock ROM files including the scatter file) but SP Flash Tool won’t recognize my device (on three different OSes: Win7, Win8.1, a Linux distro). I also tried out Mobile Upgrade S but it too won’t see my device.
The device’s battery is soldered with three wires to the motherboard, so I can’t easily plug it out. Why do you think that my laptop won’t detect the device? Could it be that the tablet is running all the time (so it’s not off) and the battery lasts long because the device isn’t performing any operations?
As for drivers, when I used SP Flash Tool to flash the new twrp, I didn’t install any drivers myself on Windows 7. Now that it didn’t recognize my device, I installed all kinds of drivers on both Win 7 and 8.1 like MediaTek VCOM USB and Preloader drivers but I stll couldn’t get it to work. I get no feedback from my device no matter what I do (power button, volume up and down buttons).
Do not say that it is hard bricked because all I did was formatting the device except the bootloader.

I don't know what a Blu view 3 is, but you can click my name to open my profile and hit "postings" to see my post history.
