Well, im veyr happy with my xperia Z5 s far...except for the OTG
I checked with "otg checker" and such, and it says it works, when I click "detec USB device" nothing happens
I tried first click then conect, conected and click , restart and click, and no, nothing
The thing im trying to coenct is a camera, that worked perfectly on Xperia T and Z1 , and stills works on other devices , except for Z5
Its not rooted, stills on lolipop stock firmware
Is any way to "pre enable" the otg energy emit or something?

I have searched the web, found nothing that's useful!
XDA team, I see a lot of thread like this in Samsung, but not in Sony. I have Xperia Go (rooted, bootloader unlocked & Munjini's MIUI) and Xperia Tipo (unrooted, locked bootloader, original Sony firmware). Since my Go is already rooted and I'm very much satisfied with Munjeni's MIUI, I tried to root using the bin4ry method on Xperia Tipo (single sim) and my Lappy doesn't recognize the phone via USB Debugging mode. I tried a lot of ways from the internet and I don't know what I did, but finally I ended up screwing up one port (it doesn't work at all now!).
When I connect my phone with USB debugging mode off, it works fine (I can browse the internal and external memory). As soon as I enable the usb debugging mode, phone is undetected. I tried in the two working ports and still the same.
Please help me!
Thanks,
B.
the problem goes to me too (gb 2.3.7)

Perhaps you can try to do this:
Settings > Xperia > USB Connectivity > USB connection mode > Mass storage mode (MSC)
maybe its the driver, try to download pc companion and connect your phone, should install drivers
you can get pc companion from here if you havent already got it.
The adb drivers are not installed....that's why adb is not working....there are many tutorials explaining how to install adb drivers....search for them
Hit the thanks button..it does not cost you anything.
it's worth something for me...
sent from my Sony Xperia e dual
hi friend ... recently my friend buy an xperia m2 dual !! its very good phone but i have one question ...
in all review even on phonearena in detail i see that this phon Support OTG !!! but my friends phone is not
we dont know why !! he has 4.4.2 on his phone and we test with Transcend and HP usb !! but they not working what do you think ?? why its happens ???
i test the Transcend and hp flash otg on my xperia sp ! in my phone everything is good and after 1 sec i see USB drive in file manager ... but in M2 we didnt see this ...
whats the reason of our problems ?? its from his 4.4.2 rom or his phone hardware input ?? ( charging and pc usb work correctly ) .. do you have same problem ??
I have Xperia M2 dual and I can confirm this that OTG Works Perfectly on M2 Dual. I have used Sony and HP drives on (4.3/4.4.2/4.4.4).

Try:
1. Different OTG cable.
2. Different Flash Drives (other than you've previously checked with)
3. Removing your case and then then inserting the OTG cable.
If none works for you, then it must be a hardware issue.
Are you running Ubuntu? I while ago my PC won't pick up anything related to my phone. It won't even charge but after I installed flash tool it gave the system some driver or summin' and now I can charge USB, adb. All that good stuff. Hope I helped

Hi guy!
After I updated to 5.0.2 my USB sticks won't mount using my OTG-cable, which worked last time I used it (before the update). Can someone please comfirm that mounting USB-sticks with OTG-cable is working on the 5.0.2?
I only have one OTG-cable, so I don't know if mine is working or not.
Same here, dude.
I have tested on my sis s5 and no problem about it (kitkat).
On my z3, i plug the cable otg no sucess, dont mount usb.
I look for a solution too...
Man, i found a solution!
Got root?
Download "OTG Troubleshooter" on PlayStore!
Works for me!

Second issue : I can't connect any USB key by OTG to my Z5, I go to settings to activate USB detection but it never works...
Any suggestion that could help ??
Thanks in advance.

i cant help with the second issue, but as for the first one i had the same on windows 7. my solution was, to change usb-configuration in developer options to charge only, restart pc and phone, and after phone restart i simply changed back to mtp.
but since you are running win10, it might be an unauthorized driver issue aswell

Without unlocking bootloader you won't be able to use mouse and keyboard on stock firmware, and unlocking bootloader will wipe everything, so it is huge problem.
