I have searched the web, found nothing that's useful!
XDA team, I see a lot of thread like this in Samsung, but not in Sony. I have Xperia Go (rooted, bootloader unlocked & Munjini's MIUI) and Xperia Tipo (unrooted, locked bootloader, original Sony firmware). Since my Go is already rooted and I'm very much satisfied with Munjeni's MIUI, I tried to root using the bin4ry method on Xperia Tipo (single sim) and my Lappy doesn't recognize the phone via USB Debugging mode. I tried a lot of ways from the internet and I don't know what I did, but finally I ended up screwing up one port (it doesn't work at all now!).
When I connect my phone with USB debugging mode off, it works fine (I can browse the internal and external memory). As soon as I enable the usb debugging mode, phone is undetected. I tried in the two working ports and still the same.
Please help me!
Thanks,
B.
the problem goes to me too (gb 2.3.7)

Perhaps you can try to do this:
Settings > Xperia > USB Connectivity > USB connection mode > Mass storage mode (MSC)
maybe its the driver, try to download pc companion and connect your phone, should install drivers
you can get pc companion from here if you havent already got it.
The adb drivers are not installed....that's why adb is not working....there are many tutorials explaining how to install adb drivers....search for them
Hit the thanks button..it does not cost you anything.
it's worth something for me...

What storage mode are you in mtp or msc. Go to settings/xperia/USB storage mode. You should be in mtp mode
Mtp mode and usb debugging off. Pc companion seem to have issues when debugging is on. The only way to make the phone recognized on pc companion is to install universal adb installer. The original pc companion drivers not working for me. Install this, then im able to install mtp support (more downloading) then use mtp without running the pc companion soft.
Now using:
Sony Xperia tipo ST21i
stock 4.0.4
11.0.A.4.22
(rooted, locked bootloader)
So I purchased an Xperia Z3 on Amazon and when I received it it had italian firmware on it. I was planning on installing the stock rom with flashtools but was wondering if it was really just that easy. Are there any drawbacks to doing this? Should I just do it? Normally I wouldnt care but there are loads of carrier apps on it that I hate staring at when I'm flipping through the app drawer.
Easy mate loads of tutorials around but flashtool tells you step by step what to do anyway. Just flash a generic firmware for your model and problem solved. Only drawbacks are if you unlock the bootloader which you can't do accidently anyway. If you need to send your phone in for warranty purposes just put the Italian firmware back on it. Just make sure your battery has a decent charge before you do it
Thanks!!!! It seems so easy, I should've done it long ago.

Use debugging shouldn't matter in flashmode make sure the phone is.off and hold volume down while connecting the usb cable. Also make sure your drivers are installed
Have you actually tried to flash the FTF?
Jus go ahead and give it a try
Hi guys!
I would seriously appreciate help with this case.
I have friend's Xperia J on my hands, trying to bring it back to life.
The situation is like this:
The phone had failed upgrade to Jelly Bean (I have no specific info how that happened). Now it boots, goes through 'Android is upgrading' phase (optimising applications), goes to homescreen, and then after a few moments a lot of crashes happen (for example "Unfortunatelly DownloadAgent has stopped working") and after some time (usually 1 min) phone freezes and restarts.
To me it seemed like an easy case - just reflash stock firmware and we're good. So i've tried repairing through PC Sony Companion, but when I am told by software to put the phone into flash mode (vol down + usb cable) it just sits there not detecting the phone. I've tried windows 8.1 and windows 7 machines and usb 2.0 with sony cable.
Next, I've tried flashtool, also installing flashtool drivers. When I'm told to plug usb cable, it only goes to 'Reading device information' and just sits there. (Green led is lit).
When I check drivers with phone in flash mode this is what I get:
11/029/2015 13:29:56 - INFO - List of connected devices (Device Id) :
11/029/2015 13:29:56 - INFO - - USB\VID_0FCE&PID_ADDE\5&212AC8FC&0&3 Driver installed : true
So, I'm kind of out of options here, and any help would be appreciated! Also, I suppose that 'USB Debugging' is not turned on, it is hard to check with all those crashes happening, but I dont think it matters.
Thank you for any suggestion :good:
Try with different cable, and connect it on back usb port. I had problems with flashing with original cable that comes with phone, now i use short 10cm from Nokia. I haven't had any problems since.
Good Luck.
Xperia M2 D2303 on K.K. 4.4.4

I'm not sure if this'll work It's probably a hardware fault otherwise,
But you're gonna' need a Windows PC
1).Download Sony PC Companion (Click Here)
2). Plug your device in with the Stock Micro USB Cable into the PC
3). Once it recognizes your device unplug your device and power it off
4). Once your device is off plug your MicroUSB Cable and instantly hold the 'Volume Down' Button (Yes it should be plugged into your PC)
5). If this was done succesfully Sony PC Companion will pick up a device and begin installing the stock firmware or something
Hello Dear
I try this , but not work and problem is still yet
you have to repair using Sony PC companion or better yet visit service center if in warranty. hope u have not unlocked bootloader.
I rooted Xperia C and installed CWM with Mobile Uncle Tools. Something went terribly wrong and since then the phone is dead. I have tried possibly all the ways on the internet to connect it to my PC (Windows 10) in download mode to use either Sony Companion or wmshua to flash the stock rom but the problem is it isn't detected. All I get under device manager is a Serial Device (COM4) under Ports even though the light is still red on the phone and another thing I have noticed is that it keeps disconnecting and connecting again and again. I have tried installing various drivers, but no luck!
Can you guys please help me out?
Anyone please?? Any suggestions??
