So I recently I bought a V8 smart watch thinking that I can “flash” program it, like my old & reliable DZ09, but it wouldn’t accept any other ROMs than v8. What made matter worst is that I even forgot to back up my firmware! Many complications occurred like, invert screen and uncalibrated touch screen.
F-lash-ast forward to about a week ago I bought the same watch, and to my surprise, I was able to extract the ROM successfully AND download it to my near brick v8 smart watch!
You’re probably wondering how? In about a week, I’m going be making an “update” video on how-to use these Flash Tool and extraction methods because when I initially started I had no clue what I was getting myself into. Before I finish this post and potential video, I will list some things I did that might help you out:
Backing up ROMS
-when entering a scatter file using Flash Tools, it doesn’t matter what you “upload to backup”. This is important because even an (red) ERROR message (near the four files you uploaded.) May look bad, but it’s NOT! All in all, you’re trying to back up NOT download yet. So if you see an error, you’re kinda heading in the right direction. (Leave it red)
After uploading a spoof scatter file, you have to use the read back service on Flash Tools. Remove whatever you see there and add and save to wherever you want to save the ROM file. It’ll then prompt two addresses you can alter. Don’t mess with anything except your LENGTH address. I was able to retrieve some info on the FAT address by highlighting over near the bottom on the Flash Tool app; that’s the info you want to use. I believe for my version, which was made in August 26 2018 it’s chipset/MTK6261 FAT LENGTH address is 0x00400000.
Once you’ve done that, use that ReadBack Extractor App to extract and rebuild the ROM file and it’ll give you 4-5 files to use for Flash Tools to DOWNLOAD firmware to your v8 smart watch.
And that pretty much wraps up what I did to successfully backup my “NEW”v8 smart watch rom and DOWNLOAD it to my other “BROKEN”v8 watch. Quite honestly, I didn’t want to buy another smartwatch so I refunded the BROKEN one and was still able to keep it, to just fund the new one...WHICH has the same firmware! The only thing now is to find a IMEI recovery tool to fix your IMEI. Because you duplicated the ROM it also saves the IMEI from that device to the other.
Additionally, most likely after the holidays, I’ll be uploading my firmware to this forum so you can use my backup, so keep an eye out for updates to this page. If you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to message me

@rakugakijo bro you finish the firmware ?
Unfortunately, my problem continues. Apparently it is a firmware or clock problem.
The screen of my watch appears divided in two.
Did anyone have the same problem?

Hi guys.,
Someone gave me a tablet at work to try and fix for them... They have no idea what model it is, but when I plugged it in, it came up saying softwinerevb as the detected hardware (think that was when trying to get in to the recovery menu.
Anyway, here's a picture of the device:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Upon turning it on, it comes up with an android icon:
It then starts a boot screen:
And then just sits on the android logo:
I managed to get in to a kind of recovery menu, but guessing it's broken. It first gives a similar android icon to the one below, but only for the slightest split second (have been unable to grab a pic of it), and then goes to this one of the android on it's back with a red exlamation mark:
Dunno which model android tablet it is to get a rom, not sure how I would flash the rom if I could get one... As stated, will get no further than the android logo shown in pic 4 above... Left it overnight last night, and does nothing...
So, anything I can do please guys?
Anyone any help or ideas on this please?

I will have a look at the SoftWinderEvb 8. I spoke to my colleague today, who said they will see if they can find the box out over the weekend...
The problem I want to fix, is to actually get it to work, lol...
As stated in the first post, it just hangs at android logo. It won't get past that. I went in to the recovery menu, and it just has the android with red exclamation mark...
So, how can I get it to reflash? Or is there any way to getting in to the phone whilst the android logo is loading like it does (which sticks there) to be able to resolve that part (I think the reflash would be the easiest method)...

Hey folks,
I tried to modify Tab 3 10.1 Wifi Frameworks to natively enable Advanced Reboot Menu
WARNING:
- This hasn't been tested => I don't own a Tab 3 10.1
- This is a very earlier build => It may simply break your tablet or may not work
- This is a ported feature from an ARM CPU to ax86 CPU => It may just freeze your tablet every reboot :silly:
Do you accept all these conditions ?
If yes
Download the file from Mega.co.nz (290Kb)
Reboot to Recovery
Flash It
Reboot,
Long press power button and see if it works.
else,
Do nothing
Tested in my tab, but when I tried to flash the zip with TWRP an error flashing occurred! So for now it's a fail. Sorry.

I know I may sound s7up1d but what is "modify Tab 3 10.1 Wifi Frameworks" to natively enable "Advanced Reboot Menu"
What is the relation of "Wifi Frameworks" with "Advanced Reboot Menu"?
I bet you that is why you do not get reply. Another approach is like a Video or Picture of what you are trying to achieve. I have the same situation on my thread. But In my case I do not have anything to show yet. I am just testing various methods and had no real results. Good luck.

I am sorry you feel that way. And yes I TOTALY understand, "No one who care". Just because they all are selling this TAB3 10.1 x86. No it is Not because of it. It is a nice and acceptable device. It is just because everyone sooner or latter got tire of not able to do Mods. Source is incomplete and to many proprietary drivers. jdeocares hi I guess it is first time we chat. I do not think I was rude with him. First my English as a second language made me read wrong message. I ask my apologies to him. Then he express there is nobody left to test. I totally agree with him.
Regards this project, I do not see what he is trying to accomplish, What is this "Advanced Reboot Menu for Tab 3 10.1". I ask him for and explanation and suggested he post a more graphic method of what he is trying to accomplish.
So the only I could do was to opened the package to get a glips of his work. And found all is store in a "android.policy.jar" that I can not look at. I see his work is base in 4.4.2 KK and I have 4.2.2. So without more explanation or a reason as why I want to pass all the work to backup and install KK, I left.
Nonta72
Like I said I do not see a gain for me. Now without installing I look again inside your zip file. I can only imagine that you are using the wrong "update-binary", my best guess is that that one is for ARM!. Just a guest. I say this because it size is 168kb. The size of that binary usually is around 521kb!!
So try this one.
Here you have a friend. Keep the good work.
Note: Can I see the source of that "android.policy.jar".

You're also right, It's for Android 4.4.2.
About the source of the .jar files; well, I downloaded Tab 3 10.1 KK Firmware from SamMobile.com then deodexed it. Now I'm trying to mod its frameworks without even having the tab on hand!
> Note: I can try to mod JB 4.2.2 frameworks if you're interested in testing.
No problem guys It was a misunderstood, all friends.
I've been looking everywhere for a sub-forum for this device but XDA has not seen fit to create one yet. So, if I'm posting this in the wrong area, that's why I did it.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DUMB DECISIONS AND BY EXTENSION, YOUR BROKEN PHONE! THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE
What is this?
Basically it's the deodexed and zipalinged KDZ file in zip format so we can flash it from TWRP.
The instructions on how to root and flash TWRP can be found here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-twrp-v3-lg-stylo-2-plus-t3482169
The guy deleted his recovery.img because he was trying to get paid for it somehow or something. So here is the link for the recovery.img
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5_Tro_qGCDcMW81VUktRDh5Rms/view?usp=sharing
I did NOT include root because I'm using system-less root to get Android Pay to work.
I tried uploading this directly to XDA so no stupid mirrors however, XDA said the attachment was too large. So instead, I'm uploading this to my personal google drive. Please help me out by mirroring this for other users.

I'm not trying to generate ad revenue, I'm just trying to give back to the community. I don't need anyone to thank me because honestly, all I did was follow the instructions from:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2431204
With one exception. I used the tool here to extract all the pieces in conjunction with the above mentioned tutorial.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575
I'm typing this out while flashing it myself for the first time so let me be clear.......
THIS IS UNTESTED

@abadasstanker69 i didn't give you the permission to share my twrp port , please remove the link.
It's not "your" anything. TWRP is open source. If mods want to remove it, they can. But I'm not taking anything down.
Hopefully a mod will come remove your profile anyway. Attempting to sell TWRP on your blog through ebay? What kinda nonsense are you trying to pull anyway? Then to have the nerve to advertise it on XDA.... without this community you wouldn't even know how to do it. You're leeching from the REAL work of REAL programmers who dedicated countless hours to develop TWRP. You're robbing from THEM. You should be ashamed
< Mod Edit: Link to blog with paid recovery file removed. Keep this off xda please. >

What's your problem it's my work and share it the way i like.
You're absolutely NOT sharing it. You're attempting to make money off someone else's work. And it's not YOUR work. It's someone else's work that you're repackaging with your name and a price tag. It's disgusting IMHO
TWRP is and always has been OPEN SOURCE! You can't call dibs on it. You ported it. Big flipping deal. Look. We already have enough info on you to take to TWRP and have them file legal action against you for trying to sell/steal/make profit from their work.
This is why MultiROM doesn't try and sell their ports. It's flipping stupid and illegal.
For anyone else reading this, since XDA's admin doesn't seem to understand what "OPEN souce" means, just PM for the recovery.img I'll build one myself tonight since it's LITERALLY typed out step by step on TWRP's website and requires ZERO talent or effort......
WTF happened to this community? We're old school members so just to let you know, we're forwarding this directly to TWRP so they can take whatever legal actions need to be taken. I hope this admin understands what this means and where this is going. I highly advise you to review your admin agreement and then look at the actual laws governing open source software. https://opensource.org/faq In the mean time, I'll be contacting Ethan Yonker (Dees Troy the ACTUAL developers behind TWRP) to let him know.
https://plus.google.com/+JamesAndersonTheStonedTanker/posts/T5JXsbVQXF5?sfc=false
To anyone else reading this, I'm sorry this got side tracked by people who don't understand even the SPIRIT of this community. I'm even more sorry that this is what this community has devolved into.
Now I'm gonna go complete this talent-less task to allow REAL open source distribution as the original XDA used to be about......
Might wanna read this from the TWRP website, especially the intellectual property part, you agreed to these terms by accessing the site and it's content.

Back to the topic.... The rom worked great. I tried it and it worked out fine. I had to enable systemless root and flash the systemless root SU binary to get root but it worked great. Now I'm gonna be working on creating a custom rom or a port. Not sure which one. If anyone is interested or has an opinion, let me know

If you can't get it to work, then don't use it. But obviously others have. Spreading lies isn't gonna help you figure it out. It DOES work.

I built my own version. I'm not ready to release it yet because it's got some kinks in it. It won't allow TWRP backups to complete. I don't feel like that's worthy of being released unlike that other douche bag who put it out anyway. But if you need it, PM me and I'll send you a download link

All of these new threads are the same. The cracked firehose from this guy https://m.cafe.naver.com/ArticleRead.nhn?clubid=27738104&articleid=273056&page=3&boardtype=L is where it all came from. The thread maker should give credits to him.
Anyway when you have hello packet error you just need to hold power button for 10-15 seconds and try it again. Or unplug it and hold power button for 10 seconds, release and reconnect

Not working….
"can not found programmer file"
Wow you people never seise to amaze me!
As soon as I've joined the forums, I've seen the uncontrollable need of people to open dozens of threads for the exact same thing. Instead of having one thread where everything about that issue is shared, we have 5-6 threads and it's very easy to get lost.
And to make things worse, people do it so that can get appreciation even if it's not their work!
I understand the brick issue is huge, and the help is needed, but don't make a new thread when there is one already, someone may miss some important info.

Indeed. I came from the Motorola Defy, a legendary powerhouse with its 800 MHz OMAP3, 512 MB RAM and 2GB storage which - mostly due to the diligent work of a group of developers centred around Quarkx2k - went all the way from Gingerbread to KitKat without any support from the vendor and without ever unlocking the boot loader. I was one of the developers for that device and as such was generally satisfied with the level of the discourse in the Defy section of this site. Unfortunately the same can not be said for the Whyred section... from the multitude of 'bro' posts through the karma whoring plagiarisers to the number of 'mine no workee fix it' single-line commands I must say I'm disappointed in the direction the XDA forum went.
To all you out there who feel accused by my writing, please realise that developers work for free, in their spare time and share their work freely. If you expect instant service find a paid support channel, if you want to gain fame by posting someone else's work as your own realise that the only fame you'll gain will be that of a wanna-be. If English is not your first language, fine - it isn't for me either - but do try to write something at least resembling that language or find a forum in a language you are more proficient in. Some words are just too obnoxious to be used, 'bro' being a prime example of such. Just drop 'm, they don't serve any purpose.
thanks you
my device back to live
thanks very very much

Thank You so much. i was pretty worried. i thought i lost my phone or will have to pay around 120$ to get motherboard replaced but this worked.
For those who are also going through this. My mobile was dead. no response, no boot, no recovery just dead. Only appeared as Com 8 in drivers. i followed this method and it worked. took 660+ seconds to flash but worked. Thanks to whoever is actually behind this method.

My bl is locked
The thing is like that, I had the phone bricked due to the anti rollback and to fix it I tried this method. There was no problem in the flashing process.
The phone turns on and shows the icon of the empty battery (without the percentage below, only one empty battery), so I put it to charge. After that I try to enter fastboot mode to start twrp, and enter for a few seconds and then return to the empty battery logo. I enter to despair because after that, whatever I do can not get it out of there. I left it loading a time and nothing. In a moment I managed to turn it off, but I could not turn it on anymore. I decide to flash the rom again because it seemed another brick.
When trying to flash back, the previous method was rendered useless, because in some way or another, it needed the authorization of xiaomi ("You are not authorized").
Anyone have a suggestion on how I can fix this?
