Why no deBate thread for xposed/magisk ? for features /deaths.. Both used heavily. - General Questions and Answers

MAGISK/XPOSED WHAT TO SELECT WHY OR WHY NOT ?
Where is user debate ?
None of XDA topics i searched provides detailed informatoion.
This is everyone technically lacks on XDA FOR (Xposed vs Magisk)
On performance
On modules
On features supported
On etc.
Why ?
SPecially, NEW Xda users stick on external site(s) to rely on answers from conten-farm *(SUPPORTED FROM GOOGLE EMPLOYEES LOL )*
Way too useless,
As myself, I still find xposed useful just far safetynet which is not working and dont care for same COMPLETELY..
SafetyNet Becomes major reason to install MAgisk to play a game ?? pokemongo and Hence supported ??
Xda-Labs still supports xposed online but wont support Magisk.
While
Magisk is not supported and requested to discontinued..
Hope someone understands, or group of crew starts firing
lol (if paid/unpaid).

I don't use Magisk myself but, your best bet is the following Magisk General Support / Discussion thread.

i can't install busybox

Hello guys, i'm trying to install busybox in order to get V4A but i can't. I have an op5 rooted with magisk with stock OOS and twrp. i've started with stericson one and it say "installation not succesfull, try a different location" i tryed with another of Jrummy and it just fail, i've later found that can be installed through twrp with that app and it still failed.. So i started to make some search, mostly here in xda and i find a thread in which a guy said that could be a problem of w/o w/r of the system folder. So i give root to es file explorer, give the permission to r/w to /system folder (in properties is marked rwx r-x r-x, is that ok?) and tried again to install stericson app...guess what?? no luck
what should i do? i can't see any other thing to try...it can be magisk? maybe should i try superSU? any help is really appreciated, thx

Thanks for posting , however I don't see how that answers or helps the original problem. I also have the same problem. Magisk installed and seems to be rooted/working, however when installing BusyBox it fails.
"Try installing to a different location, that may resolve the issue"
Anyone?

I apologize but, I wasn't aware that Magisk was installed too.
I do believe that there's unique way for installing BusyBox when it comes to Magisk being in the picture.
The members on the following thread should be able to help you out with this issue. I've seen this similar question somewhere, within that thread, brought up too.

Though I don't, personally, have Magisk but, I have a working knowledge of it because of a development of mine requires this for Magisk users who use my Development.
I don't believe that Magisk, itself, comes with Toybox but, it does have its own BusyBox Binaries that Magisk users use and there are those who don't use it.
There's a way to disable the Magisk BusyBox and use another BusyBox but, the users within that thread (i had provided on my last post) are the best ones (like @Didgeridoohan for example) for receiving assistance with this.

Thanks for responding.. I researched for a while and finally found out that within Magisk Manager 13.3 under Downloads, there is a Busybox app to install within manager. I installed that and it was the latest version :good:Hope this helps others.

I have this issue as well, I have to keep up with specifics about so many devices and how things are done on them that it's hard to keep it all straight and remember the "specific" specifics for this or that device. And then there are the things I am already experienced with that evolve into new directions or updates or changes in processes for the different android versions. As time goes by and the more devices/android versions are released along with new developments it all starts to become a cob-webbed mess.

difference between Stock ROM & Custom ROM??

Hello all,
I want to know if somebody can explain me what the differences are in the following two Android systems...
- stock ROM what you have for example on Xiaomi Mi A1 or the Google Pixel phones. Delivered with only "google applications"
- and custom ROM as LineageOS installed on many devices. what in my opinion only does not have Gapps installed.
People are telling me that the "custom ROMs" are more updated? But Google is delivering in my opinion faster security patches and other patches out. And mutch faster new Android updates than an custom ROM developer?
Since the developer needs to re-build the software again. And need to test if everything works fine.

G900V CID 11 Customization

Good morning,
I have rooted the phone and debloated it. But I saw some interesting looking apps like gravitybox and xposed; is there a way to install those on a S5 G900V, CID 11 phone? Or because of the locked bootloader we cannot use those?
Any recommendations for stock replacements for calling app with call recording, texting app that allows mms sending over wifi, apps to change phone themes (settings menu design)? Any recommendations for interesting apps for rooted phone?
Thank.

I don't use these XPosed Modules myself but, if you require additional information, the following are the threads specific to GravityBox (you just have to select the one that matches your Android Version).

[QUESTION] Rooting Gigaset Gs100 Oreo 8.1

Hi everyone! I own a Gs100 device and decided to search how to root it, if it's possible at all. The reason why I want to root it is because it's RAM capacity is very low, 1GB, and it can hardly run Android Os itself. In addition i want to look for some apps in order to make the device run more smoothly. I read this article ( howtodo rocks/how-to-root-gigaset-gs100/ ) and made me believe it not worth trying to root Gs100 because of the risk of failure (bricking), i don't care about a voided warranty, since it's an one-hundred-euro device. I want to ask for advice whether should I try to root it, or not. It would be helpful if someone has a personal experience. I will try to provide as much information as possible about my phone's current state.
Gigaset gs100 specifications - devicespecifications com/en/model/22b44be8
Android security patch level - October 5, 2018
Baseband version - MOLY.LR12A.R2.MP.V52.11
Build number - GS100_HW1.0_11132018_V14
Thank you in advance!

Since there's little to no threads/posts that's specific to your devices model, you will then have to look at the fact that your device has a Mediatek MT6739 Chipset.
With limited threads for the MT6739 device, your next best option is to search for the MT67xx.
Keep in mind that the MT67xx means that it's for all Mediatek devices that begins with MT67.
Here's a small list of threads that should help give you a good start on your journey to root/development that just may also work for your specific device.
Be sure to ask for some support and guidance within one of them for clarity just to be on the safe side.

Magisk vs EdXposed vs Xposed?

HELLO
I just rooted my OP7P(OOS103.5). It's been like 5 years since I last rooted a phone, so I have a few questions that may sound dumb and may be repetitive to y'all.
From what I can tell Magisk is today's Xposed, but it has way less modules. Xposed had hundreds? Thousands?
Should I be using EdXposed as a module source instead of Magisk? Where's the best place to go looking for modules?
Should I have a busybox installed at all times or is that just for specific things?
What's a good adblocker?
What's a good debloater?
What modules do you use and find essential?
Sorry for asking questions that have probably already been asked, but many thanks to anyone who bothers answering!
Same questions. I'll be doing some digging and may reply to this thread since it was high on one of my searches (I believe it was "magisk vs. supersu").
In a perfect world, a mod would reply with a link to some current threads with answers, but that may be too much to ask.
Edxposed is very outdated and totally deprecated.
LSPosed is the best xposed ever.
