Magisk vs EdXposed vs Xposed? - Android General

HELLO
I just rooted my OP7P(OOS103.5). It's been like 5 years since I last rooted a phone, so I have a few questions that may sound dumb and may be repetitive to y'all.
From what I can tell Magisk is today's Xposed, but it has way less modules. Xposed had hundreds? Thousands?
Should I be using EdXposed as a module source instead of Magisk? Where's the best place to go looking for modules?
Should I have a busybox installed at all times or is that just for specific things?
What's a good adblocker?
What's a good debloater?
What modules do you use and find essential?
Sorry for asking questions that have probably already been asked, but many thanks to anyone who bothers answering!

Same questions. I'll be doing some digging and may reply to this thread since it was high on one of my searches (I believe it was "magisk vs. supersu").
In a perfect world, a mod would reply with a link to some current threads with answers, but that may be too much to ask.

Edxposed is very outdated and totally deprecated.
LSPosed is the best xposed ever.

[Q] KeepChat module in Xposed-question

I apologize if this post is in the wrong section but I wasn't sure what particular existing thread to post in.
I was just wondering if anyone knows if/when the keepchat module in Xposed framework will be updated to work with the new update of snapchat that just came out?
-Thank you

Please see the keepchat thread. I know that the Developer has mentioned some problems with keeping up with the recent deluge of snapchat updates. Also, be a little careful asking for when things will be released, this is concerned to be rude on xda...things will be ready when they are ready.

[Q] Android M and Xposed.

I have the preview build that I put on using the .zip, I then rooted the phone. But there are things I want to change of course. So I was wondering does Xposed work on M? If so what do I need to do to get it on there?
Dude.. Xposed isn't even working 100% on lollipop. Either help the project or be patient and wait like most of us around here.
Goddamn spoonfeeding has to stop, opening a thread for this wasn't necessary, since there is a general thread for Xposed right here on XDA. You would have found your answer there.

Little bit harsh, but I have to agree.
Android M is TOO early to be worked on, it's just a preview. Once again, I want to put my point that this release SHOULD NOT be a daily driver.
Xposed, in other hand is still in a beta / alpha state. You do not want to expect it to work on M while on Lollipop it barely works (I mean, Xposed developers are using temporary fixes to work around some issues)
Please, in all regards, be patient ! I'm sure it won't be long until M becomes a fully mature system images and we can all develop for it.
Let's try not to get too worked up about things guys. There is little information about M on the Xposed thread, and the user would, sadly, had he written such a question there, be attacked by angry members writing "Don't ask for ETAs!"
The truth is that while there hasn't been any work to port Xposed to M, the zip from 5.1.1 COULD work. So far, no one's tried it. There haven't been any changes that could totally prevent Xposed from working. That being said, due to Xposed's hack-filled nature, there is little to no chance of the phone even booting after the zip is installed, let alone after modules are installed.
Im actually shocked there hasnt been a few mods made for m yet. I mean we have custom kernels. Id agree xposed wont happen for awhile but a few simple mods would be appreciated.
You can try long press on the settings icon in the notifications area (it is an hiden option like developer hiden option) so you will have some options to modify the ui.
Cleaned the thread. Let's not be rude to each other.
It's fine if you want to talk about Xposed, M and the N5 but keep it constructive.
Please keep in mind that Marshmallow isn't even officially released and Xposed (though very functional) is still in development and even alpha on 5.1.1 so constructive discussion would actually be limited.
Let's not just speculate about it.
Thanks!

Xposed Modules Alternatives?

EDIT I JUST REALIZE I POST IN THE WRONG FORUM!
Any modder to move this thread into Huawei 6P Q&A please
Hello guys, Android Pay just arrive in Canada this week and I wish to give a try but i'm on MM 6.0.1 with Xposed.
I already know that Xposed break SafetyNet, so I was thinking to remove Xposed and update my phone to the latest stock android firmware, but i'm hesitant as I love certain xposed modules and I wanna know if you guys know alternative to those modules:
-Flat style bar indicator
-Flat style Keyboard
-MinMinGuard (the best ad block you get w/o xposed?)
-Xnotification
-Amplify
few others questions:
Is it possible to use a custom ROM and get Android Pay to work?
Is greenify works as well even w/o xposed ?
Thanks for your time xda community

PSA: XprivacyLua working on LG V20!

Hi all
Just an update that Marcel has fixed issues with Xprivacy Lua not working on LG V20! This is great news for us as it provides serious privacy. You will need Xposed for it work. It's working well on Systemless Xposed and Magisk 15.2 for me. You should know that you will lose SafetNet until you uninstall Xposed.
Hope this helps others.
Awesome fine. I normally don't dabble with xposed, but this changes things. Thanks!
?
Nice
Yeah this is huge. It really changes a lot in my opinion. As someone with zero desire for Xposed, Xprivacy definitely changes that. I highly recommend others give it a go.
It will break Safetynet, but that is worth it to me. You can literally force feed whichever apps you want bogus data so they still function as they should without mining your real data.
Any guides on install procedure of Xposed and this?

Is anyway you could post a link to download xprivacy please.
The original is dated 2015
Thx
The original xprivacy doesn't work on our phone. If you still want it you can get it in the xposed app. Hope this helps.

Novice doubts with Magisk, EdXposed, modules, etc.

Good afternoon,
Sorry for my ignorance of the subject, "I'm old school"; and my native language is not English.
I have searched the "usual" places, but I have not clarified anything.
I've always rooted smartphones with SuperSU.
I have never rooted another smartphone with Magisk and I don't know how it works with Xposed.
In another smartphone I have two Xposed modules installed, for me essential: XPrivacyLua and Greenify.
On this smartphone (Android 10) I would like to install them too.
As I understand it, if I have Magisk installed and I want to have Xposed Framework I have to install EdXposed as indicated here: Download Xposed for Android 10 [Magisk Module], and then install the modules.
1.- Is this information ok?
2.- Where can I find these modules adapted to EdXposed/Magisk?
3.- How are the modules installed in EdXposed?
In case you know web links, in which you can inform me about it, I would appreciate it.
Regards
Good morning,
Can anyone help me with this issue or give me a link where you can inform me?
Regards
