There one mod that ports AOSP AOD in apps section here. Normal AOD does work, but the status bar does not shut off. A slight workaround for that one would be to make your lock screen wallpaper black.

It's a magisk module. Just install in TWRP as per the instructions.

If the first one didn't work, then that's it. AOD works 100% on Oreo with no issues, but doesn't on Pie. The only alternative would be an app, but I couldn't suggest one since I don't use them. I use an app called wave up, which turns the screen on when I take it out of my pocket, which also triggers face unlock.
yes seems so, we have aod for oneplus 6T pie but not for oneplus 6 sounds strange but true i guess.
Anybody Google the answer why we can not have a Always of Display with the OnePlus ?
Samsung "Bloat phones" has it.
Pixel has it.
Maybe other devices have always on Displays too ?
To run a small part of the display with a Clock and notifications can not burn that much battery

Debating between this phone and the mi mix 2s. By all counts the OP will have better development, and the headphone jack is a plus. The mix really has style and wireless charging. But unconfirmed reports that Android pay didn't work. Does Android pay work on a stock OP? Is it seen as certified on the Google store (can I play Netflix?). I don't plan on rooting or installing an after market ROM until later in life (if OP stops supporting it). Also how does OP handle the warranty in the US? Basically there isn't one on the mi mix 2s which is a big minus.
I'm coming from a LG V20 so I debate whether or not to upgrade at all considering it has almost everything lol

Q: Does Android pay work on a stock OP?
A: Yes! Google pay works with the Oneplus 6
Q: Is it seen as certified on the Google store?
A: Sort answer, yes. I didn't have any problems with the Google play store on my device.
Q: Can I play Netflix?
A: yes, Netflix works fine on my device.
Q: How does OP handle the warranty in the US?
A: I'm not sure, I haven't looked into this yet. I'll keep you up to date if I know more information about your question. But I'm pretty sure the warranty is alright.
Some extra information:
- Don't let the 1080p screen hold you back. The screen is gorgeous and you won't see the pixels.
- Screen on time is about 4 and a half hours with average usage.
- Dash charge does what it's promised to do.
- The Oneplus 6 is for my small hands a two handed phone.
I hope I answered all your questions well!
Best regards,

Hi! I'm planning on making the OP6 my first OnePlus Device.
I also plan on getting the 6T later as well. I know that seems pointless. But I like have 2 major devices from a company for a years run..
Anyway, I know the phone is brand new and we have to see how things go, but, do you think there will be ROM support for this device? Given that it had the dual partition system (A&B style) would it be worthwhile to get the OP6 for ROMs right now?
My only want is to Root & ROM the phone. I have a LG G6 & V30, both from T-Mobile and have no dev supoort or ROMs. I like them both but I miss LineageOS and that's actually why I'm buying the OP6.
In your opinion, should I expect to see ROMs like LineageOS for OP6 or should I just wait and get the 6t.
I'm just trying to justify it to myself, especially now that the Nylon bumper case is sold out and that's the one I wanted. Ha, minor detail holding me back. Obviously I'll snag a Karbon Bumper hopefully..

Wow is that the reason they say they removed fp gestures? This didn't make sense because it's the same size as the fp sensor on the s8 and so she fp features work on those devices. So I wonder if this new sensor just doesn't support gestures or if it can be added back in from a custom rom?

First of all I must excuse me. Because I live in the Netherlands, my phone's language is set to Dutch.
First go to you security settings, then press the little settings circle. Now you should see some sort of a timer. Change this timer value to something more then 0 sec (instant lock). Ow and toggle the instant lock slider for when you press the power button

To be honest, both options (blinking or solid) without any option for customization are plain stupid. On my previous phones I always had multicolor LED and different speeds of blinking for each type of notification. With single color and unconfigurable speed..I don't really care if LED blinks or just stays on, it isn't very useful anyway.
big issue here. After having updated to July patch from second may one, I'm not able to hear sound from the speaker. It starts for a couple of seconds than nothing is hearable anymore. Normal behaviour on Bluetooth. Tested on WhatsApp and on the music player. Does Anyone have the same issue? (phone already restarted)

Hello,
Currently i own a galaxy s7, and i can't stand samsung ignoring big issue that is present since months regarding delayed notifications.
Currently, the notifications are delayed and are delivered upon unlock of the screen. regardless of battery optimization settings (all turned off).
Example:
1. You lock the screen - wait few minutes.
2. App sends notifications
***notification should arrive, but it's not***
3. You unlock the screen
4. You get notifications... which you should have gotten while they screen WAS locked.
This is commonly refered as android "doze" issue
Is there same issue present on OnePlus 6?
PS. Please dont advise on the issue, because it's software bug and disabling any kind of optimization is worthless and has been tested by multiple people.
Only disabling doze using adb works - which is temporarly solution until next reboot.

It does not work. There has been multiple thread pages on issue, and what only works is setting adb command which will only work until device is rebooted.
I'm not looking for workaround, but asking whether the issue is affecting oneplus 6.
Mine doesn't have that issue
I have this issue. If it is doze related I don't know, I never tried to disable it, mostly because I'm too lazy to do it every day.

Good find, I'll definitely be trying that one. Wonder if it works with lift to wake?
I found this used about 30%+ of my battery yesterday when I had it on all the time, heh. Also automatic face unlock (where you hit the side button and it auto unlocks) does not seem to work but you can still double tap then hit the face unlock button. Seems like at that point you would just use the fingerprint unlock. It does have a lift to wake option but I could never get it working (the AOD would never turn on when the feature was enabled). I ended up setting it to only be on when the phone is charging and works great on my charging dock so I can see important stuff while in bed. It is a beta so hopefully there will be some improvements in the future.

Its a good app but sadly auto lock dont work and also when the AOD is activated, it messes up the phone's screen on time as well because it's taken into account. Used the premium version for quite sometime now
I came from one plus 6T and I think that best way to deal with no LED notifications was app called Plus Beat. It activate stock ambient display according to predefined time interval. Sadly it's no working on 7 Pro anymore. Anyone is aware of good alternative for that kind of app?
Hello
I also come from the 6T and I have installed it in my 7 Pro.
I think it worked better in the 6T, but I do not notice that goes wrong in the 7 Pro.
The only thing that ever worked for me is the option of DND profiles. When I set it up and activate it, I get into the app and the Option Enable Plus Beat It's off.
Anyone know how to fix it?

Tried Pixel Pulse today and doesn't seem to work either. Notifications come in, however they do not reappear again(pulse). Tried Always on Edge and Pulse Beat neither of them pulse, which is weird because Beat Pulse worked perfect for a day. Battery optimization was off for these apps.

It's really strange, some reports pixel puls working other they it's not working.. So far pixel pulse working flawlessly for me. It repeat pulse until notification it's dismissed. I try some edge but didn't like it. I prefer apps that use native ambient display rather than screen overlay..like aos edge or any led screen app

Yes..had the same ..it works flawlessly sometimes and suddenly it's stops working..it didn't showed any action for my few last notification that were configured..its sad that development of pixel pulse and pulse beat has stopped..

I came from one plus 6T and I think that best way to deal with no LED notifications was app called Plus Beat. It activate stock ambient display according to predefined time interval. Sadly it's no working on 7 Pro anymore. Anyone is aware of good alternative for that kind of app?

This may be a very dumb question but is there a way to dismiss notifications from the actual notification screen (I believe this is the ambient screen)?
The only way I've been able to dismiss notifications is to go into the lock screen and swipe away the notification.

I'm using Pixel Pulse (free version) on the OP7P Global US variant GM1917 OOS 9.5.4 rooted. I do have notifications to repeat every 20 seconds.
