Hello, i manage to set the language of the apps to my locale language instead of english via adb command & a app like "MoreLocale 2" , but after every reboot the local language is reverted , and i need to manually change in the "MoreLocale 2".
is any way to make this change permanent without root?.
I am in MIUI 10.1.1
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
No, that is not possible without root.

This is a common problem with stock, and thus TNT Lite - you can't add keyboards that way. you need to use a rooted method like root explorer or adb (the apk needs to be added to /system/app).
Hello, what is Zingkey ?
I haven't installed this app. I don't remember if it was before in Settings -> Language & Keyboards.
I just installed busybox and then appextractor, and market showed up update for this application.
Was it preinstalled in ICS ruu, or did i get some kind virus or something like that.
Sorry for noob question.
Have you zingkey there ?

Yes, HTCs stock ROM for ICS comes with two or three pre-installed keyboards for non-latin languages.
ZingKey is one of them.
Thx, i got scared a bit from it.
I just removed it together with the thai keyboard using titanium backup (root required).
If you're root, you can use ADB in recovery mode to move the JS_Keyboard.apk from /system/app somewhere else, which removes Thai Keyboard and Zinga (and stops that "choose input" icon from appearing)
Once in recovery, connect to computer and open "adb shell" (on windows, open CMD as administrator and type "adb shell"
Use these commands in numerical order. Anything without a number next to it is a note for you to read but not type in. Also dont type the number or the fullstop immediately after it
1. mount /system
2. mount /sdcard
ignore any errors
3. mkdir /sdcard/device_files
we make a folder to move the apk into for backup - you never know when you want the original back in place
4. cd /system/app
move to the apps folder
5. mv JS_Keyboard.apk /sdcard/device_files
move the app from your system to the backup folder
6. reboot
your phone will reboot with no thai keyboard or zingkey!
Also if you want to put it back (for any reason) then get back into recovery with adb shell, then do in order: 1. 2. 4. then the command: mv /sdcard/device_files/JS_Keyboard.apk /system/app" then "reboot"

You can disable zing key and thai keyboard without root using regular application settings.
to answer the original question:
It was included in the update. Ignore it if it isn't bothering you, removing wouldn't harm system either.

how ?
The keyboard in notification bar - asking me which keyboard do I want was quite annoying.
I uninstalled Zingkey as well as Thai Keyboard via Titanium Backup, no problems ;]
Got it installed and started using ADB - sets any language I'd like BUT upon the phone restart goes back to default English...
Anyone please?
since upgrading firmware from b3++ to b571 i am facing this issues
1. google translate cannot instal the downloaded language.
2. root and unroot still left leftovers which hindering some of the apk wont run even with rootcloak
3. full twrp still leave missing symlink
so i have been experimenting what are the cause, twrp or rooting
1. google translate the issue is twrp ( not sure why) even if i restore to stock bootloader, translate will not be able to install the language file.
2. rooting and unrooting will still left traces which the apk still able to trace some of the su file. rootcloack wont work with some of the apk
so the only solution is to restore the whole firmware from scratch.
my question, is anyone manage to reslove this? . i want to root and restore few things like the data/network at status bar and hide/unhide the navigation bar. the unroot back cause i need some apk that don like root like banking apk
For what it is worth; I flashed the recovery backup over 51 and did a factory reset and flashed supersu for root.
- I used translate a week ago and was able to download language package
- I am able to watch TV with an app which is denied on rooted devices, maybe you could try adjusting some supersu boot settings as it works fine for me
- Data/network settings are stored in the Google cloud and auto restored?
- I use Nova launcher which allows navigationbar hiding. I bet it should be easy to enable.
Since restoring apps is not much a deal as you can choose all apps you want to restore in Appstore by using longpressing an owned app in your person overview.
The only downside may be needing to reconfigure some apps but I suppose you could restore those be need.
Which TWRP have you installed?

My Mate 9 is unlocked and unrooted but I still havent got Google Assitant, should I have it now? Im UK based.
Delete all languages but English US. Open the google app and you should be asked if you want to use assistend (maybe you have to restart). Then you can reinstall the languages again.

Thanks for the reply.
Where do I delete the languages from?
Google app, setup, languages for search. Maybe also via the phone settings.
Here a link:

After this you can reinstall other languages.
