Z5 E6653 flashing problem - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I forgot my Z5 single-sim E6653 lockscreen. Then I flashed it using setool2g. Then phone boot up fine. However, only later I found out that I used E6683 firmware instead of E6653. Now flashtool recognize the phone as E6683 and it won't accept E6653 firmware. The only problem I found out(so far) with E6683's is it won't detect sd card. I did some digging. I almost sure it because of the android itself. Now can someone guide me to the right way on how to fix this mess? Or is it ok to use E6683 firmware on E6653? And maybe there is a way to fix sd card issue? I'm open to all suggestion. The sd card is not faulty btw, tested on my other devices.
I just can't find the correct file for setool2g...

[Q] How to convert Edual to E???

What will happen if i flash 2.23 (single sim firmware) on Edual??
will sim1 be recognized??
Is it worth a try??
I can't wait any more for Edual CM11
I want to test CM11 ASAP
I have readed before in CM you'll only have one Sim card the other one will be useless. But that was in CM 10 forum.
Sent from my ST26i
That's enough for me!!!
Did you try flashing the 2.23 firmware?
Were you successful?
Can your device recognize any SIM card?
Flashing a 2.23 firmware FTF will work - I think only the SIM 1 slot will work, though.
actually i tried installing a C1505 ROM on my C1605 and everything is working except the 2 sim cards so i'll try to flash the ftf and see if that will make a difference
so
"Emergency calls only"
not working

Lost imei Code, Help plz! :(

Hello guys,
today i flashed the new Lolipop 5.1.1 ROM via FlashTool but i lost my imei code and the 2 SIMs not working anymore and this happened to me after flashed wrong ROM, i flashed D2303 ROM and my mobile D2302 and i can't flash D2302 ROM as i get error when i try.
, please HELP me how i can fix this problem.
D2302
Official 5.1.1
any help plz ????
Just type *#06# on the dialpad.
it's appear as null there is no imei
First of all try to repair the phone with PC Companion. I have been reading in other phones the IMEI was going and coming depending on the custom kernels one was flashing. But that shouldn't be your case. If after the phone repair it still doesn't work try to flash KK again. The IMEI is ROM related so wiping the data should have little or no effect (but one never knows. Anyway the phone repair wipes it).
Do you have locked bootloader? If so it's quite weird (and bad) that the IMEI has gone. But if you're still under warranty Sony must fix/replace it for free.

As I wrote use the official PC Companion from Sony (and not Flashtool). It has an option to repair the phones. It will download itself the last firmware for your phone and flash it (you must have at least 80% of battery). Also it may happen that you need to tell the program which is your phone (D2302 I suppose, then) so be sure not to mess up on that.

Now when i try to connect the phone with the PC Companion it appear as D2303 not D2302!! I can change it from the options? Or there any way to delete this ROM?
Are you sure it is a D2302? I'd see if there is a way to check in the Sony support site which one is your exact model using the imei number. Or in the phone box, if you still have it. I think PCC does have an option to chose the model afterward. Unfortunately I can't help you more than this, I have no experience on repairing the phone in such a situation. But be sure to use the CORRECT model. That is a must.

It's D2302 because this on the Box, Can you mention who can help me plz cus i rrally need to fix this phone
I don't have the PC version (I am on OS X) but it should work in the same way. Disconnect the phone from USB (if connected), start PCC, go to "repair phone" and there it shows a list with all Sony's phones. Select your model (D2302) and then continue. I can't check after that because it should start downloading the ROM and I've a restricted internet quota. Still it should be just a matter of following the PCC instructions.
I read somewhere that Sony put SUS in PC Companion but I never try it, so it should work as Miche1asso said. I'll try it when I'm home.
Xperia M2 D2303 on LP 5.1.1
It should detect it automatically whenever I use pcc it knows what model my m2 is what firmware I'm Running.

Yes, but the thing is, if your phone doesn't boot, you can press repair select phone model, connect in flash mode, flash. Just like SUS did. And it even remember the phones that were connected to PC Companion so it's easy to choose. Good work Sony.

It didn't when I connected it in flash mode. Which has been actually a bit surprising. I never used it in full, but if it is as I think that thing can soft brick a phone instead of repairing it.
What's SUS by the way? o.0
Sus is the previous version of sonys pcc

Sus = Sony Update Service and it was more like Flashtool than PC Companion

Is there anyone working on Z5 Dual kernel?

As my feedback in Z5 Rooting & Recovery Boot Mode (UK Xperia Z5 E6653), currently neither bazhip's kernel nor AndroPlus' one works on Z5 Dual (E6683).
AndroPlus' one will cause the external SD card unrecognizable, while bazhip's latest one even cannot boot (the previous one has the same problem with external SD card).
I guess neither of them even has a real Z5 Dual in hand.
So... Is there anybody working on Z5 Dual kernel?
Or... Maybe... Is there any document about how to build a custom kernel which can let me just DIY?

[Q][Huawei G700-U20] bricked, then wrong firmware uploaded

Hi,
My friend accidentally formatted his G700-U20, in a way I couldn't understand, since the phone was not rooted. Somehow, he managed to delete all the files from phone, including bootloader.
After that he managed to upload th firmware for the G700-U10 model, hoping it would work. Unfortunately, it helped partialy, the phone doesn't recognize sim card(s) - since the U10 is a dual sim phone.
Now I'm trying to fix this, but I can't get in fast-boot mode, and if I try to upload the UPDATE.APP file to the SD card, I get the error that the update was unsuccessful due to the wrong version of OS, since I managed to find the stock firmware for the U20.
Any help?

Single SIM Firmware on Dual SIM device

Hi guys,
I' currently thinking about getting the Xperia XZ.
I'd like to take the Dual SIM version because of the bigger storage. However, I don't need the Dual SIM feature and rather have quicker Firmware updates.
Therefore I'd like to know if I can flash the Firmware from a single SIM XZ to the dual SIM XZ?
Will I still have the 64GB of storage?
Thanks in advance

Flashing a single sim firmware on a dual one can throw your Device in a bootloop, although I've never tried it but I think flashing the wrong modem & baseband can definitely screw up your Device.
Thank you for this answer, although I have hoped for something more positive
Okay, I think I'll refrain from buying this phone then. Hmm...
Sorry to dig up an old thread. Did you end up trying this? I'm curious too.
Cheers
This should work. Remember having done this (actually the reverse) some years ago flashing the Xperia M Dual FW to the single SIM variant because -interestingly- the Android version of the Dual-SIM was higher (believe it was 4.2 vs. 4.1 or something). Anyhow, if it doesn't work, well, just flash the correct one and you're up and running again.
It may work if after flashing the single sim firmware, you use flashtool to flash only modem and baseband from a dual sim firmware.
Has anyone figured out how to do this yet? Is it safe? I want to flash a Single-Sim variant on to my Dual-Sim XZ as well, but I can't find any guide/tutorial on how to do it and also how to get the correct modem and baseband files.
Can anyone assist with a quick guide?
