[GUIDE][APP]Up To Date Google Camera Port For The 5T 9/7 - OnePlus 5T Themes, Apps, and Mods

I decided to start this thread because all the other GCAM port threads aren't up to date ,specially with the increasing number of APKS
so,let's get started
Disclamer
The Camera2api port for our device is buggy as hell not only that but the dual pixel technology libraries are f**** by OnePlus so to overcome that and get both portrait mode working and front camera hdr+
you must be rooted(or at least have a custom recovery)
for non root you can still use HDR+ only for the back camera with lots of dots!
Downloads
A-rooted downloads 1-the lib fix FOR ANDROID 8.1 ONLY
FOR ANDROID 9 PIE OOS 9.0.6 and above
2-Pixel Colours(optional)For OOS 9.0.6 and above you need Pixel Colours v3.0 HERE
B-APK download that's a bit easy
1-New Best Version Urnyx based on GCam 6.2 is excellent thanks Urnyx Download latest here
2-Gcam based on 5.1 Urnyx05 v6.2 for any OS for the 5t oreo and up of course
Settings
-For Gcam based on 5.1 only This one contains the settings I personally use with the current Google camera version Urnyx05 6.2 to get best results after testing many times(you can find yourself better settings anyways).
-the settings are attached as images in the post feel free to test them out.

Thanks, been looking for something like this an updated one. Using Urnyx and thanks for the settings

You're Welcome

Lib fix breaks any audio mod like v4a, ainur, Dolby...
If you have audio mods and lib fix installed, any audio mod will not work and camera will not work in any app including stock camera app
You have to choose between camera or audio

In my case, using the Lib Fix in the link, doesn't break the stock camera (didn't try any audio mod). But if I update the module from magisk (to the last version), that one is breaking the stock camera.
I am using blu spark kernel. What does it mean to set it to permissive and how do I do that? Any side effects (potentially unwanted) by doing that?

kernel is either enforcing or permissive
hence the name suggests
permissive 'permits' apps from overriding system policies
enforcing enforces system policies
so use permissive when you have an app that requires it only
It theoritically impacts security
specially if you don't know what apps to install or don't get them from a trusted source

Do you know if they have a chance that the app damage my phone ? (OnePlus 5T Android 8.1 OxygenOs 5.1.7)

Hi all. Firstly, this camera is great. Using it on lineage with microg and using your suggested settings and am having no problems.
The only issue I see is that in lower light I experience lag when in portrait mode. Anyone know a solution to this?

less light = slower shutter
it is slower to get a decent image quality
and I don't think it's that slow
anyway there is no fix to that at least without affecting image quality

[PORT]MIUI Camera Universal Port

Xiaomi began to sell its first Android One phone Mi A1, it has original AOSP official ROM,but with a MIUI Camera. This means Xiaomi has ported the MIUI Cam to AOSP ROM,and this enables us to extract and port MIUI camera to any devices on any ROMs (in theory).
And it has been ported by many people to many Xiaomi devices with non-miui ROMs flashed .
However ,that MIUI cam app still needs much device-specific modifications and even needs to install many files into /system with a flashable zip.
It's a long and hard process to port it device by device. It's also needs root and unlocked bootloader to put files into system partition.
So the MIUI Camera Universal Port aims to port MIUI Camera into a common apk file that you just need to click and install.
Currently it's in early stage and have problems using some functions.
Important:This app will not remind you (showing a toast or dialog )to allow permissions. You need to enable all permissions of this app in settings. Go to Settings - Apps ,click MIUI camera and open permissions - enable all.
(Thanks @murali3127 for reminding)
Changelog in v0.03
Disabled INTERNET permission,to avoid data collecting .
Changed package name to avoid conflicts.
Thanks @jc9896 for reminding.
Change log in v0.01
Initial release
Modified code to enable all functions on any device (it will still disable automatically if a function is not supported by hardware)
Modified code to detect ISP platforms automatically (currently MIUI Cam only support qcom, mediatek, nvidia and lead core, if you run it on unsupported platforms such as HiSilicon the app still works but some bugs will never get fixed)
Added some libs to fix bugs

Do you have non-miui rom installed, and don't have another camera app exist in system? You don't need it if you have MIUI ROM.
And make sure the existing camera app's package name isn't com.android.camera or it will have problems installing because Android will think this app and your existing app are the same.
Does it have the dual camera feature?

It should work if other third party cam works.
Doesn't work on Mi5s with LOS15
I got FC when activate dual camera on photomode, in video mode is working. (Xiaomi.eu on redmi pro)
Thanks a lot. It works great on my Redmi Not 3 on LOS 14.1. Even Panorama that never works on some other ports.
Do you think you could port new version (I think) that have auto HDR with flash ?
There is one on Redmi Note section but panorama doesn't works.
Thanks again for your work.
Thanks for this. Works perfectly on Galaxy A5 2017.
Works well on the LG aristo running lineage 14.1
Only issue I experienced was using the beautify function for the front camera.
Work in Galaxy A5 2017. (A520F)
Not work in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Works perfectly on my Redmi 2 running MIUI 9 by miuipro.
Some issue are that group selfie mode crashes the app, and video HDR causes camera to freeze. Using Apkeditor I changed package name to avoid conflicts.
Great job!

Well, the default MIUI camera that comes with MIUI 9 has no advanced features like manual focus, tilt-shift, video mode pause, etc on my Redmi 2, so this adds these features back without needing Xposed (I used to use MIUI 8 tweaks for that)
Awesome port! My camera app of my axon 7 mini is broken (produces just grey pictures). This one is feature rich and works almost flawlessly (panorama function FC's, but that's ok )
Many thanks for your effort man

Best Camera App (/mod) for Lineage OS 15.1 Oreo 8.1?

Hi, i've installed the last update of Lineage OS (8.1), but the camera app is too bad. I tried with some porting of Google Camera etc, but most of them crash for different reasons and I did't find a good solution.
Is there a camera app, or a zip mod that I can install by recovery, to get a better shot (or at least, like the stock app of the Samsung Experience)?

Works great for me. Make sure the gcam is set to Nexus 6 Hdr+ auto ( settings-> advanced-> config camera hdr+).
For video recording you will have to select camcorder.h265 in developer settings (settings -> developer settings)

When I tap on switch camera, the app crashes. is there a fix?
Can't seem to find one that will open
Hi
I yesterday installed lineage 15.1 on my s7 Edge.. What a fantastic rom. It feels so much faster and smoother to me than stock oreo.
I have installed it with no gapps and have rooted . I wanted to use Google camera as a replacement but every one I have tried force closes immediately (must have tried 20 or more based on recommendations here, in reddit and elsewhere).
Any suggestions on how to get this working? What puzzles me is that others seem to have it working. Maybe because I haven't flashed gapps?
Thanks in advance
Whatsapp and Instagram camera issue - bad quality
Semi OT: is there a fix for the bad processing and quality of the Whatsapp and Instagram (specially with the Stories) camera?
With android oreo you need to have the "google service framework" apk installed for google apps. You can install the attached app or you can search for it on apkmirror. After installation you can freeze the app with titanium backup.

I think not, as of for now, but the dev had already found the problem and made some improvement, but still in progress, hopefully in the next LOS update there will be good news for camera.
-update-
The update for LOS is done already, you might wanna try do dirty flash over existing build. and update here for the result (i can't update right now).

I don't think that's the problem, I flashed gapps and there isn't any camera app in app drawer. So, I am not able to use camera app and flashlight.

Camera app stability on custom ROM's

After testing a few ROM's on this forum I find that there is always an issue with the camera app.
Right now I'd like to stick with the PixelExperience or OmniTreskmod ROM, but the OOS camera crashes when I try to use slow-motion, and the GCAM apk also crashes frequently. (I've tried the latest December version and also an older version)
Are these features not available for custom ROM's? Should I just modify stock OOS with magisk modules to make it look/feel like a Pixel?
Edit: Does the OOS camera needs the OnePlus gallery to function correctly?
I have no issue with the latest gcam or included oos cam in AOSP extended

I've moved to the OnePlus7Pro and it has the exact same issue. From what I've seen you cannot use a custom ROM on a OnePlus device and have a fully functional OOS camera app. This is sadly why I'm moving away from using custom ROMs.
thats too sad, cause getting a new version phone is caused mostly you wanna have a great camera too, isnt?
otherwise, why to buy a such a expensive phone when the quality of the pictures is like some years ago??

MIUI Stock Camera application

I have created this thread to discuss the fact that if anyone was able to extract the Stock MIUI camera application for Redmi Note 8/8T (ginkgo/willow).
As we all know that using Gcam gives better photo quality but Gcam isn't fully compatible with our device. The wide angle lens, macro lens and I also believe the depth sensing lens don't work on Gcam hence not using the full capacity of the device camera hardware.
It will be great to have the Stock camera application alongside with Gcam so that we have better quality images using Gcam and also use the other camera features using stock camera application when needed.
Also anyone having the required knowledge to extract the Stock Camera application can provide a guide as I own the phone and am willing to get the application.
Well you're right, and in fact i'm already using both camera's applications when needed and i find this great!
It IS possible to extract the stock Camera apk simply using an app like Skit or ApkExtractorLite (but i strongly recommend the 1st one), no need to guide, it's simply as a couple of taps. Just done so on my phone as a test and it works. Maybe it's not exchangeable between different variants like from Global to India, China or another region, but it should be fine if on same version.
Have you tried doing it by yourself or you're in need of the APK file?

Also, users owning devices of different regions can post their Stock Camera apk by extracting the application using the above mentioned applications so that everyone can use them.

Version 165 working fine on pie roms. On Android Q for now, macro and wide lens don't working.
Apk depend on lot of libs and Xml files, porting from Miui is hard cuz apk using Miui framework so no chance to work on any Aosp without smali debugging... Only easy way is to port from Mi A3 laurel_sprout becouse that apk don't depend on Miui framework and will work on any device running aosp with just few tweeks, but you need to find all libs, xml, and other files for camera and make Magisk module. Xiaomi Devices already have ANX camera, which is pure port of MIUI stock cam for custom roms.
flash anx cam module from magisk download sections and you will be able to use all the lenses (in pie roms). Aux in Q roms are work in progress.
Link broken. could you plz update?
yo
Just extracting the original miui cam.apk (from/when in miui - and then flashing a custom rom - and then try to install that apk) - will not work - u cant install it (just says failed to install)
I just tried. - I am a total NEWBIE to this custom rom stuff - but yesterday - my 168 hours was finally over so that I could unlock bootloader (on my redmi note8t-willow) flashed Pixel experience and - well: (I found a rom made by darkJoker and installed that - but the camera had no 0.6x wideangle) - so then I tried the official Pixel Experience rom from download.pixelexperience.org/ginkgo - and it worked like a charm! The camera app is EXACTLY like it was in the miui 11. WITH wideangle AND macro (I had reservations because it said "ginkgo" and NOT willow - but wow - it worked and excellently so).

hi, I just want to tell my test on ANXCamera_190 with MIUICamera_v4.3.002191
my device is Redmi Note 8 ginkgo rooted with PixelExperience
the official build was okay but its an older version of MIUICamera and with bugs cant save to sd card, so I got a trick to update its camera to MIUICamera_v4.3.002191.
you can follow this steps
-install ANXCamera as usual (i was using ANXCamera_190R).
-download MIUICamera_v4.3.002191 from apkmirror
-rename it to ANXCamera.apk
-use any file manager with root access to replace system/priv-app/ANXCamera/ANXCamera.apk with new downloaded file.
-restart
-enjoy
tested with PixelExperience plus 11 and 12

While I use gcam mod usually by san1ty for pictures and open camera for video(I want to control bitrate and other options)
I just found this gcam mod from UltraM8. It's just like san1ty's but you can use the second back camera!
The only negative is that trying night mode crashes the app, I've send a message to the UltraM8's post and if it fixes that, you can give it a go
What do you think about this?
P.S. also this gcam version has some selection of bitrates for video recording
Best Camera app is this by Urnyx05 !
LINK
It's based on Gcam 7.3, it support dual camera (enable it on settings), night sight works well and it supports AstroPhoto!!
And there are a lot of settings that you can use it

Sounded so promising, yet I get crashes when switching to telephoto. Might be an issue with Lineage OS 17.1 tho, or some specific config I need to tweak. I'll test out the rest of the features and let you know how it works, thanks for the suggestion

Yes probably is an issue related to LOS...i'm on latest xiaomi.eu and it works without problems and no need any configuration, i only enabled Telephoto on Camera Settings.

On xiaomi.eu 12-10.
Urnyx05 camera switch is working and night mode, but 360° and slowmo crashes.
So still searching for the ultimate mi mix 2s gcam mod 7.3 (or any other).

Could have something to do with selinux. As far as I know second lens is only working in permissive on custom roms

Man, you're a genius, that was it!
To everyone else using this camera mod, just set Selinux to permissive and the second camera works. I'm on Lineage OS 17.1.
How to change SELinux Android 10

the BSG mod is the one that will always work without any crashes on anything on our device.

I don't think it's a possibility without root unfortunately, I used a Magisk module for that :-/

Hey, how did you make it work? I'm using Urnyx05 latest gcam on LOS 17.1 2020-04-23 build with Camera2Api enabled plus SELinux permissive and it just keeps crashing when I switch to x2.
I'm seeing that LOS merged some changes for Camera2 on may, but builds newer than april are not out yet, did you build it yourself?
Thanks!

You just need to set SELinux to permissive. Install this Magisk module: https://github.com/evdenis/selinux_permissive
Telephoto now works by default on latest LOS 17.1 nightly
No need to change SELinux to be permissive or to install a magisk module to enable camera2api, just update to lineage-17.1-20200529-nightly-polaris-signed.zip, they merged some camera2api stuff and now Telephoto, or second camera, works.
I'm using Urnyx05 latest gcam, it works flawlessly, just don't try to use Slow-mo or stop astrophotography while it's taking a photo because it will crash. I tried UltraCam and it works too, but zooming crashes the app for me.
Worth a try using san1ty's and BSG's gcam too. Though I believe san1ty disabled aux/tele camera on their mod.
And use Google Photos instead of default gallery app to stop weird behaviour while using gcam.

I think you can do it with adb and the set enforce command. Look for that. But I think you have to enable it after every reboot again.
Or look for a twrp flash able zip which changes it
Edit: you can try this https://www.cyanogenmods.org/downloads/permissiver-v4-for-android-10/#
I think you have to flash it after every update
With TWRP you can

Without root your phone you can change selinux to permissive with this zip (flash in TWRP)
