Charging problem - Samsung Gear S3

Could anybody help me?
Some days ago I left my Gear S3 three days on charger. Looks that this caused my current charging problem. If I use watch to fully dead baterry and place it to charger, it shows start charging at 74%. After short time charging it is on 100% and LED switch from red to green. Unfortunately my watch will stay alive only half day.
Some advice how to recalibrate battery?

Nobody knows?

Try a factory reset?
Most likely though you are out of luck. Seems like every gear S3 eventually only lasts half a day since there seems to be a bug in tizen 3.0.

Factory reset does not help? I made it 3 times .
Loks that baterry change will be necessary. Any body knows how much it costs?

I saw someone say $30. Though I don't know if that will fix it, I'm convinced it's a software issue.

Mate, if you already tried the Hard Reset on your watch and it didn't help, here is the Youtube link to battery replacement.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQfb52LQpPA.

[Q] Battery temp too low and not charging

Hi All,
I have this problem of the tab not charging,
Was searching all week and had no luck. Seems like a common problem among phones especially on SGS and SGS2.
When it was on , it showed a message saying charging paused Battery temp too hot or cold.
Now the battery is drained, and when charged to the mains, it would show a yellow triangle, and a thermometer.
See picture attached..
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j236/akatora1984/20130703_204829.jpg
Just wondering if anybody had any luck figuring out why this is happening and any work around?
Just to rule things out, Tab had not been in any wet places...
service manual
I was going through the service manual and it was saying,
"If the battery will no longer charge, completely you need to replace it with a new battery. Take you device to your local service centre.."
Thoughts?..

Well first if you still got factory warrenty...
get it fixed by samsung...
If you want to save a few dollars you could attempt to pry the screen out from the back cover and charge the battery externally then if thats a NO GO buy another battery online and then put it back together.
Ive read before with charging problems that if teh battery gets completely Flat it wont have enough charge in it to activate the charging circuits.eg when you plug in charger you get black secreen and no battery icon, you need to pop the screen out and remove the battery and charge it from a external source.then replace it.
Never seen anything about your particular problem though...
I will enquire to Samsung, not expecting much because, tab7.7 was never officially launched in Aust.
Ho do you go about charging, externally?

Try plug in wall charger for 30 mins then hold power button for 15 seconds. This is good for waking it out of deep sleep and getting it to trigger charge.
another thing is possible fix from factory reset in twrp?
i would try a few things like this and leave opening it up as a last resort.
for your info google how to open up galaxy tablet and you can find pics
how to prise the screen out of the back cover.ive bought tools for this but havent done it yet as worried about damadging screen or cracking it.
there are clips around it and you have to pop the clips out.
Australia samsung probly wont fix it as not australian model..
another thing to ry is charge using ipad 2ma charger...
Experienced exactly the same issue in May 2013. It was functioning well and charging without problem all along and suddenly turned out like this. Tried different method to have it charged but no luck. I have to bring it back to the service center for repair finally.

Did the Samsung guys tried to explain anything about this?
What did they replace? Did they just replace a battery?
Please let me know.

Galaxy GT-N5110 Note 8.0 - Charging paused...battery temperature too low...
I purchased a Galaxy Note 8.0 (GT-N5110) last July. It's been working great until yesterday when a window popped up stating "Charging paused. Battery temperature too low."
I tried shutting the Note down and charge the battery whilst turned off. It seems to be charging just fine at the moment. Will check it in a few hours when the battery has been fully charged.
I installed an app called Battery Monitor Widget. It's reporting that the battery temp is around -2c to -4c while charging.
UPDATE: Battery is charged @ 100% and the Note is still on AC power. Battery Monitor is reporting that the battery is -3.7c then to -5.9c...
My next test is to completely drain the battery and see about charging then.... Will keep you posted...
Can't post screenshots for now...

UPDATE: Now on battery, the battery temperature is reporting at -4.7c...
I some how fixed it by accident..
First I thought it was a faulty battery only to realise that replacing the battery did not work...
Next I followed one of the remedies I read where it said to connect the charger to the unit with the wall charger connected and connect the battery (there is a ribbon cable).
Some how it worked. Started charging etc.
I noticed that the battery had full charge as I had it plugged in for a whole night before when i was experiencing the TEMP too low symptoms.
It seemed as if it was charging all along but was showing that stupid error on the surface...
Hope this helps some people.
JK
Have this issue with one of my S4's (fortunately I have a couple so can swap things about)
The phones had a life of luxury on my desk, except it suddenly started reporting 'battery temperature too low' issue and not charging
The same battery in another S4 is absolutely fine, so the battery itself is ruled out (and indeed 2 other batteries will not charge in the unit having problems, despite working fine in other S4's)
It seems that something has died in the S4 itself internally. and is likely going to require replacement/fix at a service centre.
How many other people have this? - it could be an issue with the device build.

Charging Light Stuck On

Hi,
I'm running CM11 and within the last couple of days I've noticed my status LED is stuck in the green charging state. I should post a pic of my battery usage graph - it looks pretty stupid. The battery level is going up while it says it's on battery and it thinks it's been charging for the last 8 hours or so while it's been unplugged. Has anyone else seen this? I have one of those huge MPJ brick batteries that comes with a bigger battery cover. Hardware problem? Software problem? Or maybe I just wipe my battery stats and it's fine. I'm kind of hoping I actually unlocked God Mode for my phone and the battery won't ever run out.

I have seen this on older cm builds. Its definitely a rom thing. Usually a full reboot fixes this...till next time. And if I remember correctly it won't happen everytime. I hope this helps you.
Huh, haven't seen that issue in a while. In my experience, simply plugging it in and removing the plug a couple of times will reset the LED. A full reboot would fix it as well.

I rebooted last night and that seemed to do the trick.... for now. I think it eventually started happening again the last time I fixed it by rebooting. We'll see.

Won't charge to 100%

Did anyone encountered a problem when S3 won't charge to 100% after update to tizen 3.0? Just stucks at 95-99% randomly, charger led always red.
Ok. Solution was pretty easy - downgrade to tizen 2.3.2, full charging, full reset, update to 3.0 again.
how did you downgrade ? i've the same issue

Doesn't work anymore, there no more update to tizen 3.0, and after downgrade you will lose spay.

After charging to that point, hold the power button down until it reboots, then place it back on the charger. For me, that got it "over the hump" and it went to 100% and a green light on the charger. It also fixed my battery drain issue!
Seems like 3.0 somehow disrupted the "communication" between the charger and the watch, so they could tell each other when the battery was charged and/or when the charger was done charging. The reboot after charging fixed it for me.
Good luck!
i have the same problem with my gear s3 classic, any new idea?
I own a Gear S3 Classic too and i have the same problem. I never saw the green light in the last few weeks. I tried reboot, charge with power off - no change.
Hi friend !!! Even for me the same problem but I understood the reason and I solved it
"The watch won't charge if it heats up. Try charging it at a cooler room temperature (turn on the AC or the fan?)."
I experienced the same problem for a few days. Stuck at 95-98% randomly, sometimes it would drop to around 85%
I think roerisi is right. It has something to do with temperature and probably the power source as well. My home gets hot these days and I couldn't get it up to 100%. I tried it at work which is a cooler place and I charged it with a different charger. It worked.
Not charging to 100%
I also encounter the same problem not charging to 100%. I moved it all over the house and finally found the spot where it works perfectly and charge yo 100%very fast....
It is inside the refrigerator.

I tried in an a/c room to charge, the same problem.
Just had this problem for the first time. About 30 degrees here inside our home so I'm hoping that's the cause. My watch won't go passed 85%.
Maybe in CRG3 Firmware "better"...

Same issue here. My Samsung Smart watch Gear 3 (760) will only change to 91%. Help!!

Phone doesn't charge, negative battery temperature

Hi guys,
I have another problem with the phone, it doesn't charge - while on and plugged it starts to charge and shortly after that disconnects and doesn't charge at all. While off it looks like charging (the light stays green) but in fact it's just stuck.
Sometimes when I manage to charge it and use it normaly the battery for example shows 80% for the whole day then starts to dicharge rapidly. Additionally the batterytemperature is constantly -31°C in the settings.
I tried to wipe it and fastboot-flashed but it doesn't help.
Had someone similar problem and knows what could be broken? Thanks!
Hi there !
Do you find solution ?
My Mi5s+ dies exactly like this. Tried to replace battery and charging circut from aliexpress but no luck.
the temp sensors is in the battery itself...
I bought 2 replacement batteries & they got same problem....
the original is OK but the capacity is halved already....
Hello,
Could you solve the problem or find the faulty part??

Samsung Gear S3 Frontier dead

Hi all.
I've had my gear for about 2 years now.
One day, about a month ago I forgot to put it in the charger and the battery drained totally. After this small incident I can't get the watch to start anymore.
I'ts completely dead, does not respond when I try pressing/holding buttons, charging it or whatever. The charger starts blinking red after a short while.
I also tried to solder a USB cable to the connections on the motherboard but no reaction with that either..
I've tried to replace the battery the other day and success, it started!! But, only for an hour or so, now it's dead again, exactly like before.
The battery that sits in the watch right now is almost fully charged and measures 3.7 volts directly on the contact surfaces.
Anyone got an idea what to try next?
Note that it's completely dead and does NOT respond to any pressing of the buttons or charging it in any way.
Regards
Emil
If correct soldered wires...
Then charging via USB possible...
Try maybe for 30 minutes to charge via USB...
Check if device will be hot
Maybe Hardware damage...
You could check Service Manuals... Schematics:

Lithium battery fully charged are at "4.20V". "3.7V" is the nominal voltage (mean stay at 3.7V 80% of the time during discharge time).
Samsung Gear S3 Battery Issue Fix
Samsung S3 Frontier Learning Mode found for charging issue SM-R760. The solution (keep in the charger while doing resets) is to reset the watch 8 to 10 times and keep holding the power button and shutting it off about another 10 times. This is unusual however my battery went from 1%, 4%, 16% and the flashing red light stopped and went to 100% charge in 2 1/2 hrs. I will keep the forum informed any changes if this reoccurs. I definitely think the latest update blew-up the cache in watch and somehow takes multiple resets and power button presses to reset the functionality of Samsungs mistakes.

I changed the battery because it was no longer charging. Recharged and gave 100% charge but now the power button does not turn on. He charges but does not care. Any suggestion?
Thank you.

Were you able to resolve this issue? Looks like I did the same as well.
I got the same problem. :crying:
It is supposed to have 100% battery but in about two minutes it drops to 90% and turns off.
