Port Kernel Nougat To Oreo

Hi why developers not port Kernel Nougat to Oreo? Why wait for xiaomi? Xiaomi is slow
Example Redmi note 3 pro have official Kernel Android Nougat Only And Have Rom in 8.1
the developers want to wait for xioami so it becomes easier for them?
I know that if the kernel is ported to Oreo everything will not work but everything can be fixed

Porting kernel from Nougat to Oreo, is a hard work that needs much time... I hope developers will finish porting in next 3 weeks

Yes, because when Xiaomi released kernel for Nougat there were many bugs in stock kernel.

"Developers want to wait for Xiaomi so it becomes easier for them"? Please open your eyes, & go through GitHub sometimes. Satya has already achieved a bootable kernel for Oreo. And even my LOS15.1 trees are uploaded, which even though doesn't boot at the moment, but at least it goes into boot animation, & stays there. Many developers are working on the logs & trying to improve it.
If you don't want to help us, it's fine. But don't put allegations without knowing.
Why do you think xiaomi will release oreo kernel? Has they ever release more than the initially released? I don't think so, will not happen for the first time with this device

Considering how terrible are most of the current device trees for tissot, it's not the best advice for a newbie to look at them

Why dont you do it then? Don't be so demanding, devs here do it for free, just patiently observe and wait for releases
The question is inappropriate, if you're not a developer at least you should know what kernel is, you cannot simply fixed every problem.

Xiaomi releases kernel sources of the Android 10 update for the POCO F1, Mi Mix 2S, Mi Mix 3, and Mi 8 series
Back in October, Xiaomi*started rolling out*a stable release of*MIUI*11 for several Xiaomi and Redmi devices. Since then, the company has released its latest Android skin for devices like the POCO F1, Mi Mix 2S, Mi Mix 3, Mi 8, Mi 8 Pro, and Mi 8 Explorer Edition. If you’re a developer looking to release an Android 10 based custom ROM for these devices or if you’re a power user looking to improve your phone’s performance, you can now access the kernel sources from the link below. The dipper-q-oss branch on Xiaomi’s GitHub contains the kernel source code and device tree source for the Android 10 updates released for the aforementioned devices.
Xiaomi has been doing a great job of releasing kernel sources for its devices over the last couple of months. The company recently released kernel sources of the Android 9 Pie build for the*Xiaomi Mi Note 10/Mi CC9 Pro, along with kernel sources of the Android 10 build for the*Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. At this rate, the company is expected to release kernel sources for more of its devices in the coming weeks

Hi ! Thanks for this news,
Does this mean that the update from our pocophone to android 10 will arrive soon?
How long is it between the release of the sources and the update normally ?

In 2018, for the first stable pie update, xiaomi released the kernel sources after they release the global official pie build. So now that the kernel sources are released already, we can expect android 10 update soon, probably within a month. :fingers-crossed:
