Hi why developers not port Kernel Nougat to Oreo? Why wait for xiaomi? Xiaomi is slow
Example Redmi note 3 pro have official Kernel Android Nougat Only And Have Rom in 8.1
the developers want to wait for xioami so it becomes easier for them?
I know that if the kernel is ported to Oreo everything will not work but everything can be fixed

Porting kernel from Nougat to Oreo, is a hard work that needs much time... I hope developers will finish porting in next 3 weeks

if it is difficult and it takes time but it is better to wait 3 weeks or months for xiaomi to release the kernel?

Yes, because when Xiaomi released kernel for Nougat there were many bugs in stock kernel.

"Developers want to wait for Xiaomi so it becomes easier for them"? Please open your eyes, & go through GitHub sometimes. Satya has already achieved a bootable kernel for Oreo. And even my LOS15.1 trees are uploaded, which even though doesn't boot at the moment, but at least it goes into boot animation, & stays there. Many developers are working on the logs & trying to improve it.
If you don't want to help us, it's fine. But don't put allegations without knowing.
Why do you think xiaomi will release oreo kernel? Has they ever release more than the initially released? I don't think so, will not happen for the first time with this device

Considering how terrible are most of the current device trees for tissot, it's not the best advice for a newbie to look at them

Why dont you do it then? Don't be so demanding, devs here do it for free, just patiently observe and wait for releases
The question is inappropriate, if you're not a developer at least you should know what kernel is, you cannot simply fixed every problem.

I'm so excited!
Xiaomi announced that Mi4 will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow from next week.
Never thought that this could happen!
It's been almost four months since the launching of MIUI 7. During this time, MIUI devs have been working to bring the new Android versions to our devices.
Here're some good news: Mi 3 W/C, Mi 4 and Mi Note will be the first ones to get Android M (6.0)! The beta updates will roll out for them soon. From next week, these three devices will no longer get updates based on Android Kitkat (4.4).

Notes:
Mi 4 TD/WCDMA/CDMA all can get update based on Android M From Next Week (China ROM First )
It will roll out to Beta Members (only) first
So it won't be a public beta test?

i am also confused and thinking if i am gone be desapointed or not with oficial mi a1 updates
That's only for project treble which Mi A1 is not in. No 625 cpu device will have project treble. We're out
No way in HECK I'm buying a Mi Mix 2S but to be fair I'm just happy to see Xiaomi on this list at all. And.. Oppo?

No, just the beta. We will get P, they said that on presentation.
Misleading title. Personally hate this kind of title. Please change the title to something like "Why is there no android P beta for Mi A1?".
really?

Where do you heard that? Android P have made project treble mandatory i guess and also Xiaomi promised to give android P for mi a1 so technically we must get project treble.

Or we just won't get P which would be violation of Android One program.

You can even sue the company in Consumer court for full refund if they fail their promise, as it was clearly written that A1 will get P while promotion.
Let's wait and see !!!
Nokia 7 Plus is part of Android One program. Actually I'm surprised that Nokia 8 Sirocco, which is Nokia's flagship, isn't beta testing Android P. I speculate that this beta program will be slowly rolled out to other phones in coming weeks. Let's wait and see what happens.

Don't know what's the problem. I just read here on XDA that SD625 cpu won't be getting Treble support.

Here on XDA. I don't think project treble is mandatory to have Android P but I can be wrong.

Why? Treble is a software feature, there is nothing about 625 not being able to support it. Treble was even ported by the community to the Redmi Note 4, and it runs on SD625 as well.

No it doesnt, on Google IO they clearly said that "Beta is coming on ... FLAGSHIP devices"
So even with treble we would not get it.
I think after release of 9.0 we will get custom firmware 2-3 months before official release.

I'd recommend you to install either Pixel Experience or LineageOS. Both are close to AOSP.
