Noticing a lot of people complaining of the inevitable screen burn and thought I'd share my setup with you all.
Apps you need:
XDA Navigation Gestures
ROM:
Renovate ICE (For RiCE Tweak app - status bar) (EXYNOS) - You can avoid this extreme if you know of another alternative to modify status bar icons. (I don't)
Install the XDA Nav bar, enable split pill mode and assign swipe up for back, home and recents in their correct places. Make sure you resize it to fit the entirity of the bottom of your screen and change the colour to fully transparent when it works how you want it to. (Make sure you follow the process to hide the navbar which is found inside this app)
Then, go into RiCE Tweaks and set the status bar transparency for all icons (including clock) to 50 ~ 60 ish %
If you get it all setup correctly it should look like this: (Launchers will vary)

at the moment i'm currently using HandyShortcuts or shortcutmanager with everything turned off, but every soft reset it loses its settings
surely there must be an addon to add a few blank lines?
(also is there any theme creator that you can make the lines between the addons transparent)
cheers people
my one (link in my sig) adds almost a whole screen of blank if you do not set up the shortcuts. You can put the other today items before it if you want them on screen or after it if you want them to scroll off. The only down side is that if you use another today item at the same time as my one you will get the scroll bar, some people don't like to see it.
You say you want to make some transparent space, the reason you can't do it with some theme is that it is never transparant. When we make it seem transparent, in reality we just ask the today screen/os to keep re-drawing the background picture thats already there. Check out my options dialog, it has the same background as the today screen. Thats because that window is also "asking" for that image to get drawn.
Scary bear has one free. I've made one which is quite useful, but unreleased for now until VJToggleToday comes out...

thanks very much vijay
OdeeanRDeathshead not quite exactly what i wanted
Well, I don't know about you guys, but one of the things I LOVE about a modded ROM is dropdown toggles. There is nothing I hate more than having to search through menus to turn wifi/bluetooth on and off. Dropdowns are very convenient, but the dropdowns that are available in the play store clutter up my pulldown screen and I get annoyed with the "ongoing" message.
Well, until we get dropdowns on a modded ROM I have found an alternative for myself that I thought I would share.
Apex launcher (see my OP on apex for links) has a scrolling dock bar and actually allows you to put 1x1 widgets in the dock bar for use (if you have the pro version)! Very convenient.
Toggle Widgets Pack ha all of the widgets that we normally use, and all are 1x1. It even has a reboot widget for Root users! However the GPS toggle just takes you to the GPS menu which is frustrating.
But I found this GPS toggle with a Root exploit that allows it to be used as a toggle like we are used to.
Now while they are not that pretty, they are extremely handy. Which is what I look for! :good:

Hello, i'm not sure if this goes in themes and apps as it not really that as it's more of a request than that, and putting it in troubleshooting is exaggerating it a bit as there is no problem, so i just popped it in general. (basically: move it all you want)
One request Anyone seen or made a theme for AOSP Navbar? basic navbar nothing else no wallpaper no random status bar colour, just plain theme with AOSP navbar. I've looked all over the place (mainly on the plays store) but nothing.
MASSIVE NOTE:
I know you can use Xposed to install all sorts of navbars but i just want to stay unrooted for the moment as i did a quite big(massive...) doodoo a few days ago and want to cool down a bit before i dive back into the world of rooting.
Thanks in advance
here's an example of of what i want thanks

Hi there, got my Fold 2 yesterday and living it so far.
When I first installed action with my previous backup from old phone, the layout on the front and inside screen was fine! (albeit small icons). Now however, whatever icon grid layout I choose, the icons on the front screen are squished and app drawer is bonkers.
I have tried reinstalling the backup, restarting the app etc to no avail.
Not trying to have two different layouts for the front and inner screen, just trying to get it to look OK.
Any help on what grid layout I should be using?
You cant use much more than 5 and not run into issues depending on your layout. I'd decide the grid you want first and then go into the options and adjust the icon size so they fit. That may in turn have you deciding to change the grid again. Fiddle with it until you find a good balance. I use 5 because that's as small as I can go on the front screen without occasionally tapping the wrong icon because they're so shrunk and close together. I'm old, a younger person might make 6 or more work. You're going to have to fiddle with it and find your own groove.
Sure wish Lacy would update the app, a lot more folding, rollable, stuff coming...
rom wishlist:
- active-edge squeeze support and customization (open any app)
- status bar slide gesture to control brightness
- nav-bar button customizations/gestures
(long press back to kill app; double-tap home to open app; long-press home to clear all notifications)
- changing the number of rows/columns in the quick-setting tiles
- battery level bar across statusbar
- pure AMOLED black theme
This is what I want for Christmas. It's the birthday of Jesus. C'mon!
i think you are asking in the wrong spot. its best to find a rom you like or has some of those features and then ask the developers to add them. As a maintainer we dont really add features unless they are already baked in. (unless its unofficial). But as i just broke my oneplus 7 pro and im back on my sargo, i am intrested to see what roms are wished for since ill be doing a bring up for sargo now
