Good Day Boys
If root Rogers S8+, has anyone fixed this 80% battery charge and Bixby not working ( I Do not want to root )
I have yet to find anything on the web Google or YouTube on my situation. I have a Rogers Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus SM G955W and I keep getting the update pop up for Oreo. I do not want to upgrade as I'm fine with nougat. I made sure before all of this in developer mode auto updates was off. One day the pop-up came up and I accidentally pressed the update button. I quickly paused it and it's at 2% but it keeps popping up to keep downloading. I have backed up my full phone but I'm looking to find out how to backup the OS so I don't have to use a computer.
I don't what to update at all.
There must be a way to delete or hide this notification.
Also the reason I do not what to update is ( Don't Fix What Is Not Broken )
I use many apps that are not in the store and don't need to update to find out I can not use them.
I also use Carplay in my 2016 Mazda CX-5 and do not want to lose this hack.
Should I do the Update?
Apps I use that I'm scared will not work on Oreo. Anyone on oreo that wants to try or have it running??

Yeah I was like I want oreo for my 955w but sadly can't, unless you follow a guide you can definitely have 8.0 for 950 or 955w's
With how slow the Canadian carriers are with updates Oreo won't be around until the rest of the world has it then add a couple more months
Hi all,
Two questions noted below:
I've had my pixel for about 1y 8months now. I love every bit of it. Until I wanted to upgrade to Android v8 - that is when I could no longer reply via voice on the phone, or use voice commands, or anything on that nature. Additionally, my volume seemed to have really degraded.
Anywho that was like 8 months ago now, Verizon (my carrier) had sent me a replacement phone. It has worked really well until now that Android Pie (v9) has been released to me on Verizon.
I have post tramuatic stress disorder from having the problem with v8 of the OS.
Q1
Has anyone tested upgrading Pixel 1 to Android v9 (Pie) yet? Does everything work?
For a backup this time, I want to create an exact clone of my current pixel as it is, so that if I upgrade to V9 and i no longer can reply by voice on my phone...that i can go right back to v7 (my current).
Q2
Anyone have any good recommendations of that too?
Thank you very much!
I had a problem with a crackle in my speaker and sound dedicated like trash bit the update fixed so that was nice.
I have a Pixel 1 and on Pie I had an issue where after a while audio would start popping and mic wouldn't work after a while and I would have to reboot to fix the problem. I downgraded back to Oreo and everything is fine again.
I tried to contact Google support and they told me a load of automated messages about booting into safe mode and factory resetting (even thought I had told them multiple times I had done I clean flash).
My Google Pixels microphone randomly died after some point in its lifespan, but happened recently. First i updated version to Android Q Beta 1 (and it was working all right on that version) but when i updated it to Android Q Beta 2 (microphone stopped working and whole UI experience was buggy, some apps not working, random restarts, etc...) but then i got it back on Android Pie, and it worked for few minutes into boot and died yet again... Then i installed custom ROM (Pixel Dust) with TWRP recovery and Root, but nothing of those helped, then i got it back on Android Pie via adb sideload OTA. That didn't help either... So i don't know is it the software problem (because it seems to work first few minutes after i boot it) or is it the hardware problem. I use my phone mostly for phone calls and now because microphone is dead, it lost its functionality... But speaker was working, earpiece and 3.5mm jack.. Any suggestions??
i'm having a similar problem at the moment. Since the April OTA update, phone calls stopped working. Even when using a BT headset. I tried reverting to Full Recovery Image from february, but that only helped a bit. Also, any other audio app was not able to use the speaker. With the Feb version, youtube and google music were back working, but phone calls are still not possible, causing the telephone app to freeze. I was thinking about installing some custom rom too, but that doesn't seem to do the trick. Did you try to wipe the cache in recovery?
Update
found three possible workarounds for people having the same issue, perhaps one of those helps. I'll go through them today evening.
You could try enabling the "Disable USB audio routing" in developer options and see if that works for you. It did work for me

A couple of days ago one of the CEs here pointed out to me that I needed to enable the setting for wired headphones in Google Settings > Search, Assistant & Voice > Voice > Hands Free and toggle on the ‘wired headset’ setting,

Change your launcher, for example, on nova launcher, disallow permission to microphone for google app and never let him this permission, do not use google assistant.

Maybe is a kernel error..but definitely is not a hardware problem. maybe try changing kernels. o downgrading to 7.
since none of the above tricks worked in my case, i booted TWRP to clean the caches. Didn't bring any good result. So i flashed ElementalX Kernel and now i got some kind of a better result, even if it's still weird. Everything works now except incoming calls. I can actively call other persons, use whatsapp or facebook audio calls and all is good. Only if i receive calls, still mic is muted.
I will try everything from above, and hopefully something will actually work and get my Pixel back in life. I will get you updated guys.
Thanks for the support.

None of those helped so far, i'll try flashing some kernel then...
I discovered that when i try to record with my camera video, it says "Can't record audio. Another app is using the mic." Also when i try to record audio message on Messenger app, as soon as i click on microphone icon it says some error.
Update, my sound and video won't record, both on Youtube or Instagram or any kind of video audio playback.
Update
I flashed ElementalX kernel and same stuff happened, phone calls and microphone was working for first 30 minutes then it got back to old days, not working as usual. Now i think this is hardware problem

have you tried chaging vendor image, or getting a vendor image from a working pixel?
I installed lineageos 16 without gapps and is working good for hours until installed gapps.

how do i change vendor image actually??
Hey,
I recently flashed LOS 16 (coming from LOS 14) in order to hopefully get rid of my crackling recording problem.
The problem unfortunately is still there. I don't know if it's a hardware or software problem.
Phone calls are completely fine, however, the microphone makes a really annoying crackling sound whenever I record voice messages or use any kind of voice recorder on my S7.
Perhaps someone has an idea about what I could do. I already did some research but nothing helped.
Is there a way to disable the onboard microphone and just use a headset whenever I want to record voice msgs or make calls?
I'd appreciate any input.
Ever tried updating your baseband?

Yesterday I flashed the newest Samsung firmware. Voice seemed to work in the stock rom. I then flashed LOS again and the "crackling" in voice recording is back again.
I'm not sure what updating my baseband entails (and I don't know how to do it, actually).
Just yesterday my mic has stopped working. When taking videos earlier in the day it seemed to be working fine then maybe a few minutes later nothing. I have taken phone calls since and those are fine, but not sure what I need to do. I've done a hard reset, but haven't wiped the device yet. Can't tell if it's hardware or software. I'm on Android 11 with latest security patch. Any help would be appreciated.
