I purchased a new HTC Desire 12+ smartphone three months ago. I would like to gain root access to my phone. The device details are:
-Model: HTC Desire 12+ (Dual Sim) , BREP_DUGL
-Running on Android Oreo 8.0.0
-Build 1.08.400.8
I have unlocked the bootloader using the ADB process. Thereafter, I tried unsuccessfully to root the phone with Kingo Root, King Root, One Click Root rooting tools.
After researching further I learnt that I could try flashing Magisk or SU by using a Custom Recovery to root my phone but the problem is that I cannot find the TWRP version for this phone. I need your advice on how to proceed. Please HELP!
I look forward to your prompt feedback.

Wanted: TWRP for HTC Desire 12 Smartphone
Hi I recently purchased the regular HTC Desire 12 with Android 7. I saw a post earlier for the 12+ so I was wondering if anyone would have it for the smaller one. The stock firmware would also be greatly appreciated.

You might try to root your device via Kingo Root or Framaroot.
Kingo Root has been reported to be able to root the other variants of your device, maybe it will work with yours too.
Cheers.

SOLVED : HERE
Hello Everyone,
I need help with my HTC Desire 816 Here is my issue :
I rooted my device using this tutoriol http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775801
everything went smooth but when i open SuperSU it says Binary needs to be updated but i'm unable to update it in anyway.
After root the phone restarts randomly.
I even tried to unroot using SuperSU and other ways but nothing seems to work.
N.B: I always had an iphone, it's my first android phone so i'm a Newbie in rooting.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi guys,
I'm new here. I was wondering if anyone has a Leagoo T5 and might be able to help with rooting it, ideally without flashing the OS?
I'm worried about bricking the phone, which is why I'd rather just root the current OS if possible. My current OS version is: OS2.1_E_20181025
I'd looked at many of the well know root tools, like KingRoot, KingoRoot and OneClickRoot, but so far none of these offically support this device.
So, has anyone successfully rooted this phone with the default OS, and if so, which rooting tool did you use?
Note - My goal is to install an app (needs root access) that can prevent the phone from charging over 80%, to boost the battery's lifespan if left to charge.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
So, is it not possible to root Android without flashing the device first?

Unfortunetly YES
Hiee Guys ! I have used lots of android phones since 10 years and also familiar with them . I always try to root every phone but a problem is that every android phone cannot be rooted . So, please anyone tell me that how i can make root for any device and how i can make twrp for any device .
Thank You in Advance......
As far as compiling TWRP, you can start with this thread. Any device such as pixels upgraded to A10 don't have TWRP so because recovery has changed drastically and development of TWRP had not yet caught up.
Root is available for any device that is rootable. Magisk does a pretty good job of covering the bases and is under active development so properly reported issues are generally addressed.
Finding an exploit to be able to root a device is a different matter. Some, like pixels, are straightforward to root since if bought from Google (not a carrier directly) they have unlockable bootloaders allowing the installation of non-stock images. On a device that does not allow the bootloader to be unlocked, an exploit to achieve root must be found. That is often the issue combined with many of these devices do not attract developers to purchase them and thus no attempts are made.

If the device is a device that has a locked bootloader that can not be unlocked, you will not be able to use TWRP. These devices can only be rooted if there is a rooting app or rooting program available for PC or android that has an exploit that works on the device.
If the bootloader is locked, you won't be able to install TWRP or use TWRP to root the device and you will not be able to flash a Magisk patched boot.img to achieve root.
If there are no exploits available that are proven to work on the device, you won't be able to root the device.

Excuse my english.
I have an Htc ONE A9 with android 7.0 (software number 2.17.401.2) I should unlock the bootloader and install TWRP recovery 3.4.0.0 ... what I would like to ask you about the root ... I had thought of putting Magisk as many say is better than SuperSU, but with Magisk it seems that on this phone which has android Nougat as version, the SafetyNet check fails consequently Magisk Hide will not work to hide the root from apps ....
I'm interested in root but at the same time I am particularly interested in using the various banking apps ...
Is there any way for this HTC ONE A9 phone with andorid 7 to root and that the various banking apps keep working? I await your kind reply. Thanks.
