usb not working on my polaris

Usb is not working on my polaris. When i connect it to my computer nothing happen. The computer wont eve recognize that i connected something. I have tried to hard reset it, but it didn't work. I have flashed it with c_shekar v3 rom. I also have radio rom v. 1.58.25.14. The usb port has worked great for some time now, but suddenly it just didn't work.
usb problem
I had the same problem and the solution was really bizare. I let the phone into the usb, charging and after a while i heard that usb pluging in sound and imediatly after that the usb pull out sound, then after some time it happend again, and again. The fourth time i think the connection was stable and activesync worked. I did nothing, weired , i know but this is when windows meets windows through another company. Oh, and see if the usb on the phone is clean.
I did try to clean the usb connection on the phone, but it didn't work. I have also tried 4 diffrent usb cables. I am trying to flash another rom from the sd card, but that isn't working either :S The phone have been connected to the computer for several days now, but nothing happens. Maybe the moisture in my skipants killed it? (I spend at least 4 days a week on my snowboard) Maybe I'll just use it for skiing and dh, and buy a diamond for normal use.

[Q] Usb not recognized, but..

My Sensation is could not be recognized by a computer, even in hboot, i tried a few computers, none of them worked. But then when I try plugging it through a usb hub, it magically worked! albeit it works quite slow as it complains about not being USB 2.0, etc. Now this is really work, the phone can only be recognized when plugged via a hub, anyone knows what might be causing this?
PS, I tried another cable, both worked on my DHD perfectly but same problem with Sensation.
EDIT: I tried a usb 2.0 hub and it doesnt work, i think my phone's usb 2.0 is messed up.
Anyone knows of a firmware i should try flashing that would probably fix this?
it seems like even it gets connected to usb 1.0 hub, large file trasnfer(eg: a new rom) would still still halt halfway.
Tried a third cable and I am now starting to wonder if it is hardware related, i would off order a usb connector module off ebay, or send it to get fixed, but i wanna make sure it isnt software related...
btw, anyone knows how much technical skill would i need to replace the module? if it doesnt require soldering i am pretty confident to do it, i mean i had replaced the earpiece on my dhd before, now that was easy!
You have to pick the option to connect sdcard. If sense then drop down menu and pick disk drive if cm7 then turn on USB
Try to install HTC sync as well

[Q] inquiry on usb port of alcatel tab t10

good day to everyone. firstly, i would like to thank you for having the time to read my post.
well basically heres my inquiry, my unit is the alcatel tab t10. i never had any problems with it until recently, my device's usb port suddenly stops working.
tried unchecking the usb debug mode, tried checking it but to no avail, the usb still does not work. it doesnt seem to connect to my laptop. tried changing the cable.
i also tried connecting my device to my brothers laptop.
correct me if im wrong, but when the usb fails to connect to any laptop, their should be a notification in the laptop that the device is not recognized. but in my condition, no notification shows up. its like my device does not really connect at all.
oh and if it helps, i bought an otg cable before it started malfunctioning. but the only thing i had conneceted to my device is a wired mouse and a wired generic gamepad, which both seems to be working perfectly fine.
also, if i connect my device to a wired mouse, it would work perfecly fine. i could also connect to a usb flash drive, that is via the otg cable.
so whats weird is that the usb cable does not work, but the otg cable works fine.
if you have any question or any suggestion , i would truly appreciate it.
Hmm.....well the good thing is the port itself isn't "dead" as you can still utilize it for OTG. My only suggestion is make a backup of all your apps and data and try a factory reset.
Sent from my SCH-R880 using xda app-developers app
thank you for the suggestion guitarman2010. unfortunately my usb port isnt still working. i also reflashed my device's current firware. but still wasnt the solution i was looking for. i was just wondering if there is a directory under the root folder that holds the devices usb driver? would it be possible that the device's driver itself got deleted? i wam still at awe that the otg cable still works like a charm.
and another thing, is the male usb pin the same with the flash drive's pin? cause if i connect the usb cable to the otg cable it wont work, but the flash drive works normally.
sorry for the amount of question im posting
thank you very much for the suggestion. especially when u told me that the port itself wsnt dead. i can now breathe easier..
and future suggestion and advice would be appreciated.
do you guys know how to access the phoneutil in tablet? maybe i should change the usb option to pda? but i heard that its only applicable to samsung 4.0.3 devices? suggestions are appreciated.

[Q] Transformer USB Cable Issue

I've been searching for days for an answer to this and I can't find it. The biggest issue is that every time I plug my TF101 into my computer, I get Windows' wonderful "One of the USB devices attaching to this computer has malfunctioned" message. I get this using the OEM cable and brand new after-market cables. I've found a lot of different forums with similar problems but my symptoms list is different. Here's what's going on:
* The tablet charges just find through all of the cables despite not connecting properly through the computer.
* The dock (keyboard) works without issue and charges properly.
* Flash drives work properly in the USB ports on the dock.
* Android phone (Razr MAXX HD) recognizes that it's plugged into a device, the tablet briefly acknowledges a device (quarter of a second) but then stops reading the phone is plugged in.
* Maybe of note or maybe another issue, it doesn't want to connect to bluetooth devices, either. It recognizes them but refuses to connect.
* Everything is stock.
I've tried a hard reset and deleting every driver associated with the device properly installed and not. I don't have another computer to plug it into so I can't test that. I fear it may be a hardware issue but I don't want to resign to hardware issues but rather definitively know that the issue is a hardware issue.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
- Robby

Tried it through VirtualBox with Ubuntu and another system (mine is Windows 7 Pro, the other system is Windows XP Pro). No dice on any of them.
My thoughts - bad USB cable.
You probably will say - BUT IT STILL CHARGES....
Yeah, mine does that too. But, one of the pins needed for computer connections is shorted. I used my cable 3 weeks ago to ADB, then last week nothing (trying to ADB to do the Ubuntu Touch resolution fix). Got a new OEM cable (and wall wart) from Office Depot, all better.
Virtualbox/ESXi/VMWare etc... I've had problems with all of them even in USB bridging mode. Nothing beats native.
Make sure the right drivers are installed; remove (not deinstall) completely the current ones as they may be corrupted and redownload ASUS Pad PC Suite from Asus' support site for your OS version, I believe it provides more recent Asus drivers (not 100% sure).
Also try the Universal 'naked' drivers for adb, I always have used those and they work flawlessly, and I included them in my peri tool because of this..
Here's where I'm at:
Don't have access to another OEM cable (hopefully fixing that in the next couple of days) so I can't test that. I did, however, install Ubuntu onto my system natively, plugged it in, and got zero response from the system using every cable that I have. I will buy that drivers may cause erratic behavior and such but not having the system recognize that a device was even plugged in makes me doubt the driver issue.
Thank you all for responses. I'll get another OEM cable and cross my fingers that solves the problem.
Just FYI, I know it's not convenient because it takes a month to get it, but I bought this cable and it works fine for data and charge. No need for an overpriced Asus branded one.

I've run into this problem with another device on my PC. Turned out to be a double whammy: the USB port on the PC acted up; and the driver for that device was partly corrupt. Tried it on another USB port to find out. It's not always the cable.

3 ports later I decided it wasn't a port issue (but I do appreciate the sentiment; I've been there with devices in the past).

I had the exact problem lol, I thought my cable went bad, I order another and threw that old cable away... damn what a bum, all it was was just the driver? Not sure, but when it does find the drivers and tried to install it, after installing the drivers knocked my wireless Ethernet off and disable too.
Still no dice
One, thanks everyone who has tried to help this out. I'm not tossing out "Thanks" yet because nothing has worked but I am thankful that people have tried.
Two, here's what I've done thus far that hasn't worked.
* Uninstalled and reinstalled (including fully deleting) every driver known to work with this device (including naked drivers). No dice.
* Uninstalled the driver while it was still plugged in and scanned for device changes. No dice (but this got me the closest; it "successfully" installed an "Unknown Device" and had me restart the computer).
* Used peri and hoped it would magically work after it installed the Naked drivers. No dice.
* Went through "[GUIDE] Getting ADB Setup; An Idiots' proof guide on getting ADB working for Rooting!" (no linking for me yet) hoping I missed something when I was installing. No dice.
* Installed Ubuntu and tried from the other operating system. No dice.
* Plugged into a Windows XP computer. No dice.
* Purchased the recommended cable. No dice.
* Prayed that it would work. No dice.
I'm stuck. I thought about sending it to Asus to have them repair it but I've not heard wonderful things about their repair service and I can't be without it for longer than a couple of days. It just frustrates me that Windows knows I've plugged something it but it simply refuses to recognize it, like it's taunting me into staring uselessly into a computer screen for hours without any solution (and hampering the work that actually means something to my life/career/marriage/etc.)
Any other thoughts? The only thing I haven't tried it is installing the drivers to plug it into my fiance's Mac to see if it will magically recognize it. I just wish I knew for sure it was a bad port on the bottom so I knew that I had to send it in to get fixed...
Thanks again!

Can't connect via USB

I think I've exhausted my options, hopefully somebody here has an idea.
From day 1, my TF300T has been unable to connect to a PC. At first I thought it was because one of my cats chewed on the USB cable before I could try (it still charged, just no PC connection) so I didn't do anything while it was still under warranty.
Since then, I've tried 3 different cables, multiple PCs and a Macbook, and I can't get anything out of it. It's not detected at all by the computer - no unknown device, no prompt for drivers, no device connected sound when I plug it in. No reaction on the tablet either, whether USB debugging is on or not. I also tried replacing the USB port on the tablet, but got the same thing. I doubt it's a driver issue since I'm not getting anything at all on either end of the connection.
It DOES connect to the dock ok, and all the dock functions seem to work. I've tried connecting the USB cable to both the tablet directly and the dock, and I get nothing from either port.
I'd really like to be able to flash custom ROMs on it, and I can't find a working way to root or flash it without a functioning USB connection. Could it be the third-party USB cables giving me problems, and if so, is there one that actually works? And if not, is this just a lost cause?
