Hi Community,
before explaining my Problem, here are the specs of my phone:
Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 (SM-J730F)
Stock ROM with Android 7.0
Rooted via CF-AutoRoot and SuperSU installed
ES File Explorer 4.1.8.7.1
So I've got a question about my phone's storage usage.
Ca. every two days my phone notifies me it's running out of space and I need to delete some stuff in order to free storage. But when I do a reboot, everything looks fine. ES File Explorer can't seem to find a reason for this. I attached two screenshots of what the storage manager looks like after a reboot and apparently there is some unused space. But after about two days it again says I used 10.88 GB out of my 10.88 GB internal storage.
Does anyone know how to find the reason for this problem and can maybe even provide a solution on how to fix this issue ?
Greetings,
Alex

Yeah, could be but honestly I don't think that's a device related problem but one that has to do with the OS or maybe an app that's installed or whatever. And because I don't know the origin of my problem I posted it in the General Discussion forum.

Firstly appologies if this is in the wrong place, i was torn between android forum and X10 forum, but the questions are generally about market and android OS, so posted it here.
How does the market determine your location? I was wondering if this was done by your physical/3G/GPS location or if it was done by rom version? the reason being is I finally ditched o2-uk's crappy "unknown" rollout schedules which I remember with the X1 as being non-existent and debranded my X10. The file I debranded it with was titled Generic UK so i fullishly went ahead with it, however now, several of my previously installed apps, whilst showing up fine on appbrain, do not appear in the market.
Is there any way to determine for sure which version of my firmware I am running, whether it is Generic UK or actually something else?
Thanks for any help, and again, appologies if this is in the wrong forum.

build.prop
sorry, i should have mentioned im an absolute android newb, and that means nothing to me
There is a file on your phone that is /system/build.prop
There are many things controlled here that identify your phone in different ways to the network and internal android applications including the market. You will need to search documentation for your area and how your build.prop needs to be modified for your network or try to get the build.prop out of the stock rom and have a look at what the differences are.
I'm in Canada so I don't know what settings you should use. Have a search on Google for build.prop and you may become an expert fairly quick
If you need anything else just keep asking. Ill monitor this thread and help if I can. I'm still fairly new myself
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
Brilliant! thanks for the in-depth advice on build.prop. I've found the file and coppied it over to my SD card ready to view, however typically a google for "build.prop" "Generic UK" gives me one result..... this thread!! lol
Anyhow, I will do some more research and see if I can find the standard properties expected for my build.prop
Hope all this worked out for you.
I have noticed no activity in a while here so I will discontinue monitoring it unless you need something more in the next 2 days.

can you please put Build.prop here so we can download it? 313mb so to huge for a single file.

It also uses the location of your connection. At least, that's what they've told me before... My sister in law has a different market when she's in Miami. Different apps to acces. Here in holland, she has the same apps as I do. But, with a motorola droid from verizon.

Why would anyone on xda not have root lol
We all know that Google has blocked external sd card access on Kitkat for third-party apps. And there are some "solutions" trying to bring the old days back, but all those solutions requires root access to your device, which is useless for entry and mid-level users.
Today I found an app called 'File Expert', which could access external SD card on on my S4 with official Android 4.4.2 Kitkat ROM without any problems, just like what other file managers did in the past. The most important is, it doesn't need you to root your device first, it means safe.
Try it here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xcxin.filexpert
For tablet users, please consider HD version here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xcxin.fehd
Here is their official artical to describe how to access external sd card on Kitkat using File Expert without root:
http://blog.xageek.com/?p=246 and http://blog.xageek.com/?p=258
Superb.
Now I can transfer files from internal to external memory.
Thanks.

You can also use stock File Manager which is good app. We need solution for all apps not just for one.

Hi, ALEX,
Ekhm... I have deep feeling that I MUST help you immediately, otherwise you may suffer serious mental problems as a result of schizophrenia.
So, what caused my concern, you may ask.
Let me remember you... according to the post where you wrote:

thanks for using File Expert. If you have anything regarding to File Expert please simply drop us an email and we will try to do our best to serve you.

===================================================
you have sent in 2011, you are the developer of this app.
I am very happy that you have found it today, however my concern is why, for goodness' sake, are you callling the article written by you as "their"
Why I am suggesting that you suffer from the mentioned above brain illness? Because I have the trust in people, so I cannot assume that you started the thread to have just a COMMERCIAL ADVERTISEMENT of YOUR app, which to work in full, needs purchase of worth some 5 bucks key... and, which so far is not very popular at GooglePlay
By the way, personally I think that you have pretty unique way of thinking, if you count that no one would realize the "coincidence" between your nickname @xcxin and the apk names: apps/details?id=xcxin.filexpert / /apps/details?id=xcxin.fehd. It may be compared only if some time ago, Steve Jobs (RIP) would send a tweet that he found perfect phone in the shop: iPhone

this is a work around really. doesnt help with making apps like podcast addict or quickpic being able to create/move files around. any solution to that?
Works well on S4. Thanks! :good:
does it also work for kitkat 4.4.4. ??
thanks i find the file commander more useful
i can but in all my video
and i find a better way from that
so easy
Full access External SD card on Kitkat WITHOUT ROOT
Hallo everybody
i find a new way to have a full access to ext sd card
so simple so easy
1-- firest you have to make full format on tablet . phone with rom jelly bean .
2-transfer all your files from your computer to tablet , phone with jelly bean .video ,music .foto and let open at list ones to be sure that all files are working as well.
3-now your sd card is ready take it out and put it in tablet. phone with rom kit kat 4.4 it will working so well -and if you need to add more video transfer it to the old folders on your sd card , don,t open new folder it well not work -just the old folder :good:
i find that kit kat rom it still working with the Permission of jelly bean rom .. and it will not be denied
the best to use a new sd card -- the old cards it need to have a low format level
I am used it in many sd cards and it working as well --.
please don,t format the sd card on kit kat .
so i find the problem in the programs how installed bei the rom on the sd card .
I wish to convert a copy of these programs how installed on the sd card by the jelly bean rom .
to used it direct on any sd card with kit kat rom
my be anybody can helpe to find way to do that
Hi,
First i would like to give thanks to all the information on this site, so i decided to create an account here to try and share too.
It just happened that I've bought a cool smartphone and tried to Root it, Luckily it went not successful haha my bad.
I've tried using almost all the One Click Rooting Apps (apk) available on here. So I Guess after what I've done with my powers I should ask for a SOS.
infos:
Released on September 2015
Android OS, v5.1, 16GB storage,
5.0", 720x1280 pixels
13MP, 1080p
2GB RAM ; MT6753
3000mAh Battery.
Is it because of the Lollipop v5.1 why I can't root it?? and if i use a computer base rooting will i hurt my Phone?
Thanks for those who will help.
Already done that sir

Hey thanks for the response, yeah but as I have said,
"I've tried using almost all the One Click Rooting Apps (apk) available on here. So I Guess after what I've done with my powers I should ask for a SOS."
I've used Kingroots latest Version so far, Until Kingroot updates its database I guess we have to wait.
Anyway I will keep on trying to gain something too and to Help Others that meets same problem as mine.

Hi sir, Thanks for the link, I've found a Rooting process there but i can't post a Link in here (yet). I'm just afraid to try it because of complicated process, it might cause a Bootloop if done anything wrong.

After flashing Arya Model 6.0.1 and using the Dark kernel 1.9 everytime I use my camera I get Turn off USB storage and it crashes and I can't use apps like snaphat, I read it has something to do with my internal memory?

Hello guys, I am unable to update my system and am stuck at EMUI 5.1
I have tried everything I found but I am (most importantly) stuck at unlocking the bootloader and accroding to this topic (https://www.xda-developers.com/huawei-honor-request-bootloader-unlock-code/) I might be too late to do so ..
When I try to update it downloads the update, seems like installing but when the phone restarts it ask me to connect to wifi but when I try to do so it keeps searching for WIFI with no result ...
I dunno what to do else but really want to wipe all data and install the fresh EMUI 8 .. what are my possibilities? Is there any way to force flash data (like format C .. I am an IT guy but not experienced with droids ...
thx for any help - this is really desperate
PS: if any info is needed please let me know.. will provide as much as possible
EDIT: I have found this https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/emui-unlock-site-page-t3779658/page2 ... I tried to ask HUAWEI support to provide me with me unlock code ... we will see
EDIT2: they already contacted me from H support but claimed that they have no rights to generate the code anymore (since July 24, 2018) ..
What are my other possibilities? I have an un-update-able phone now and update is prompting every week (which is quite bothering already ..
