We need developers who are willing to spend a lot of time and resources on this phone. The development for this phone has been marginal and things are unlikely to change much.
The newer Mate 20 running Android 9 has to this day still not been rootable .... everything pointing to one single thing: if you buy a Huawei phone you get stuck to Emui and unrootable phone. I myself plan to stay on 8.1 forever unless root and twrp become available.
Got OTA today. The problems with sound distortion that I had when streaming using LDAC and HWA at the highest bitrate are gone. They added the gesture navigation from Mate 20 Pro but this still need work as it's not smooth enough.

Looks like c432 and the package size is too small I think to be updated from oreo correct me if I am wrong. So I think he was on beta.

Yes, I'm in the beta and this is the first update since the initial release. The model is CTL-L29.
I think they are close to releasing the final version and I heard that this will happen this month.

Hello, can you confirm or deny if the P20 Pro get Master AI 2.0 like the Mate 20 series has? Master AI 1.0 was over the top in processing and color. Thanks.

I don't think there is a way to check per say, but you should see big differences in how it processes images. For instance Blue Sky or Greenery will not be over the top like in P20 Pro. The Mate 20's version of Master AI is much improved over the P20 series.
I hope this version would help fix some historical problems, especially the one with smart unlock stop working that really piss me off.
Said this, I hope at the time Huawei will release the OTA it will be stable enough to don't let me regret Oreo.
Just for fun, in Italy sometimes major updates appeared before on branded models, I think this is merely due to the attempt to please the operators.

Was thinking exactly the same, this disappearing Smart Lock issue is very annoying.

the watch is a 2017 model and is an almost high end watch so we dont need to be worried much...
Rumor that that watch will not receive Oreo. That's sad. It was just released last summer I believe.
i hope they change swipe left (or right) to something else, doesnt make sense to assigned 2 swipes - left and right - for 1 same function (change face)

Hi, I have the BT classic version and live in the UK but no update yet, which watch do you have?

Me too, I think this is not the HDR update
But is not taiwanese version , this update is for Hong kong version.
Is there anywhere we can find out what improvements/ fixes are included with this update?

Yes got the update as well. Too soon to notice any significant changes but did notice the always on display backlight starts in the bottom middle rather than is lit up from the bottom right hand side, so the display looks a bit more symmetrical in very dark environments.

I have found that the unthemed navbar was black and now its white
The changes seem display related. Other thing I noticed is I think the display doesn't get as dim as the previous version (which is a bad thing!)

The U11+ shipped with oreo. This update is just "system enhancements".
Things I noticed:
The bottom nav bar is now white when not hidden in an app.
The brightness behavior is now changed. Inused to leave it on "auto half" and now I need it lower.
Screen capture and edit tool now works very smoothly.

ok it sounds like to me they did an update to the tw version just before Christmas which was 1.23, then the same update got applied to the HK model but have named it 1.24, and i imagine they will do the same to the EU model shortly and call it 1.25 (or something like that)
I have the white navbar since I got the u11plus, EU version. October patch.
This is why I prefer the Chinese version. Excellent. I'll post my thoughts.
And I'll see if this affects Google and closes the new method of installing it. Or better, allows a simple Google play store install now that Trump might be easing up on the ban

Woops, yep! HiCare.
I've always thought that was bloatware so that was one of the apps I disabled instantly the moment I got my Mate 30 Pro. I'll keep it going forward and will use that to check for updates instead now.

That only applies to the P30 Pro for now, as confirmed by the users in this thread. I can't find any information on "10.0.0.160" for the Mate 30 Pro.

Hello I`m updateed my Nex S with the OsUpdate_1.3.apk it is the Version 8.8.7 the size is 3,38 GB all apps and daten are Safe and everything seems to Work : D.
The batterie drain is awesome only 1 % after 15 Minutes .
Please share some shots and battery usage!! How is overall experience
Hello the battery consumption is noticeably better 20% consumption in 6 hours. I would say that it was worth the wait, it is still a beta in May, the final version should come. Data and apps are retained and so far everything runs smoothly via SMS or Whatsapp. GPS and Bluetooth also work perfectly. I am a long-distance driver so I have good opportunities for testing. The only thing that bothers me a little is the designs they are no longer in the former folder and also no longer in * .itz format, they are unpacked and are now in the download folder, I suspect I'll get it out! You definitely don't do anything wrong with that update can also wait for the final.
I come from Germany the text was translated with Google hope understandable.

of Course look at my signature, i own a chinese nex s model and yes i´m on the funtouch os 10 beta, today i got another Beta update seems like a bug fix update something like only 138mb.
You have to download the file https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4983263&d=1585707391 on the mobile phone install a check at the first screen and confirm all other messages then the download starts. The app is in Chinese so reading is difficult.

This update is only for PD1805_A !!!! Attempting to install other models could render your Nex S unusable! It is a beta (but very stable) the finale should appear in May when the global version receives this update is unfortunately not known but will follow.

last Week there was an Update to Version 8.8.8 156 MB and Today 8.8.10 130 MB so the Final should appear soon. The updates improve the System Stability so far have not noticed any differences, but the new one only came today
Apparently there are 2 new Chinese Public Beta Versions of Funtouch OS 10.
CURRENT PUBLIC BETA VERSION I HAVE ON MY PHONE IS: 8.8.10
new Public Beta Versions: 8.9.1，8.10 Both versions seems to be some like 158mb.
Yet i don't get any of them, seems the OTA push is delayed!
And I don't know what they do, what they fix or not fix!

Not approved yet but I think it will come soon.

So I've gotten EMUI 10.1 and lot of the features are missing from Mate 20 X. No app switch gesture no Huawei Assistant No Meetime No multi device control panel. mate 20 Pro users suggest these work
For me only really the colorful AOD, and better multitasking work.

Everything work fine with the new way of activating floating windows and Split screens!
I can feel the performance increases too as Huawei has claimed about EMUI 10.1.
However, there is one major "disadvantage" and that is the speaker media volume loudness has been reduced about 30% to 40% as compared to EMUI 10 judging by the media volume control level! It's quite obvious literrately!
If the speaker media volume loudness is a great concern to you. This issue might hold you back! Other than this, EMUI 10.1 is problem free! :good:

That's strange! I have all that new functions and yet I disabled them as I don't use any of them with my Global version of MATE 20X 4G!
