Hey,
I'm searching a while about the following problem: I want to have a two way screen unlocker. First via fingerprint and second with a PIN oder a pattern (like username and password). Stock Android doesn't seem to support this same as my moto x4. Is there a clean app or a hidden service for this?
Best regards
Daniel

Hello all.
I have made too many patterns tries and got my phone locked. Unfortunately I forgot my Google account and I cannot unlock it now. Its been the second day that I am searching the net for a way how to unlock it (and not resetting it because I have many contacts and other data that I don't want to be lost) without loosing any data.
I found some ways here (on this forum) for unlocking the pattern for G1 mobile but I can't do it for HTC Tattoo. I have downloaded the Android SDK... ehm... then? whats next? Do I just plug in the phone to my computer, go to command prompt and type the commands?
Any help at all would be appreciated!
Regards,
Thanks for reading.
Have tried 50 times and I don't get a "forgot pattern" button! Any ideas? I have my google credentials and my pin just forgot the damn pattern...I'm rooted etc would rather the phone just ask me my password...[i.e. not looking for ADB hacks]
It can't just ask you a password. If you don't know the pattern then flash the factory image in fastboot and start over. You're probably going to lose everything on the phone because I bet the bootloader is locked too
Its supposed to ask for your google credentials:

Can't unlock your Android device
If you’ve made too many pattern attempts or forgotten your PIN or password, you can try other methods to unlock your Android device.
Sign in to your Google Account
For pattern passcodes only
If you set up a pattern passcode and made multiple attempts to unlock your device, you can touch Forgot Pattern and be prompted to enter your Google Account username and password. This will take you to the Security options in the main Settings menu, where you can reset your device’s password.

Anyways, tried Android Device Manager and it works great, just choose LOCK and you can enter a new pin. But definately a bug as it should ask you as their own FAQ says...
And my bootloader is unlocked but hey, as I said I preferred not to delete stuff with ADB if I could avoid it.

That page appears to not apply to the Nexus 5, it's not in the list for factory reset.
The OP probably just stole the Nexus 5 from some hapless idiot and you guys are falling over yourselves trying to help him access it.

If you're an optimist.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
the OP (me) just happened to set pattern lock to try it out after using the same pin for years on every phone I have had, and promptly forgot it.
And I specifically said I was not looking for ADB commands to unlock it, which are freely available already...
Google doesn't have a Nexus 5 help page, they just have a Nexus devices help page. If the 'Forgot Pattern' button doesn't apply to a Nexus 5 they should say so...
And as I said in my second post I was able to unlock the phone using Device Manager (well, to set it back to pin unlock anyways, which then let me unlock it).
But let me sum up...
tl;dr
Hello. After I installed this certificate (lrz.de/services/netz/mobil/vpn/anyconnect/rootcert.crt) I am no longer able to use knock code as a screen lock method. I found out that the name of the certificate is Deutsche Telekom Root CA 2 and disabled it from the trusted credentials menu, but I am still not able to select knock code in the lock screen -> select lock; the options Swipe and Knock Code are white and cannot be selected (It says disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage)
Any help would be much appreciated
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I see you've posted this question here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/lg-g3-knock-code-screen-lock-method-t3112921 That is the best place to ask. In the future, please avoid posting the same question in multiple areas. I'm going to close this thread.
Hi all
I have a galaxy s7 and have no problem unlocking my phone using my fingerprint. The thing is, I have set a pin as my backup login method and for the life of me I can't remember my pin. I have entered two incorrect tries and don't want to lock the phone by attempting a third. So, the question is, if I unlock the phone using my fingerprint, does the pin login reset? i.e. do I have three new attempts? Any help would be appreciated.

Why not just unlock with fingerprint then go into settings and change the PIN? One that is easier to remember this time, maybe?

Hi,
Is there a working method or software for removing FRP lock from a Pixel 2, latest update?
None of the ones online I can find work anymore.
Context: I purchased a 2nd hand phone, but the seller forgot to remove his google account before resetting it and its proving complicated to reunite him with the phone so he can enter his details and remove the lock. He suggested I look into ways of removing it.
Thanks,
kami

I have no idea if this works, but you could try this...
Be VERY careful with any method that suggests downloading files. FRP unlock/bypass is one of those "gray areas" where you're likely to run into malicious software.
