I got locked out of my phone.. please help.. - LG Q6 Questions & Answers

Hi..
I gave my kid a Q6 (plan retention phone).. I used my account to set it up.. Set up the screen pattern too.. He then set up the face unlock.. After a while., he changed the pattern and unfortunately forgot it as he always use the face unlock.. The batt went dead and when I tried to open it., it was asking for the pattern.. Not rooted.. ADB not enabled.. Luckily., data is enabled..
What I tried:
Did some research.. Since ADB is disabled., I can't go through the path of deleting the gesture key file (or something like that).. I also read that you can tag the phone as stolen through find my device where you will put a new lock pattern.. I did that only to find out that it does not work for me.. Now I have a phone tagged as stolen and which I can't unlock..
I am wondering if there is an app in the playstore that I can send/install (through google play) that can delete those keys.. Or maybe you have any idea what can I do about this.. I don't want to reset the phone as I want to save the contents of the storage..
Thanks..
PS:
I can post pictures to prove that the phone is mine..

anybody.?

Bypass Gmail sign-in, Bypass passwords, Bypass screen lock drawing!!!!!

I read this over at tmonews...
"While playing with my G today, I found a way to enter "safe mode" which will bypass the initial gmail signin and allow you to straight to the good stuff with out activating via google. You can also bypass the security drawing pattern.
1. Power off your device
2. While device is powering back on press and hold the "menu" key, keep holding it past the G1 and android splash screen.
Phone will boot all the way to the main screen and display "safe mode" in lower left corner.
I have confirmed that data is still fully operational and all of my downloaded programs."
Very interesting

How about a ROM DUMP?
I think there's already a thread or two about that.
im sorry to say this but the safe mode does not allow to bypass the initial activation screen but it sure does bypass the security screen

Correct I already posted about this. You still have to activate service with Tmobile and Google. Safe mode on the phone is just like on a regular computer help you fix issues.

It runs exactly as u would have it if it wasnt in safe mode the only difference is that u can bypass the security screen and attempt to change the security lock i'll play around wit it later on today
Well being the moder I am. I was smart enough to download that converter program floating around before reading about it and I get non stop errors on the home screen.. but for w/e reason running the phone in safe mode does not let the program load so I get no errors now but I can't unintsall it from the applications uninstall from settings.. it gives me an error when iit treys to compute the program sizes so I I can not run the phone when not in safe mode.. would be awesome if someone could help me here
try connecting it to the computer in debug mode and uninstall using adb
i have been google searching for two hours and i have yet to find how to put commands into the g1 i got the drivers and everything and its recoginzed by my comp but i dont know where i type adb shell uninstall or w/e can you direct me in the right direction?
you need to download the SDK from google. You should see some threads with the SDK or the Emulater... it is all the same. adb is in the tools thread. Ohh and you need to enter "adb -d uninstall (name of apk)"

[WP7 Stock] Reset Password

So my niece got my personal WP7 Samsung Focus and I removed the password so she could game and she put a password on it. She doesn't know what she typed in, any way I can get back into the phone? I would like to keep the pictures on there if at all possible, since they were not auto backed up to SkyDrive due to data caps.
Any ideas? I've tried a lot of combos and nothing....
tried syncing with zune or the usb enabler i dont remember if that works under locked screen but zune should...
Zune says the device is locked and requires a pin... I miss Windows 98 when you could press cancel and get logged in. Or the iPhone and its bugs that let you login.
u sure ur pics werent backed up the last time u synced with zune ? hopefully
Very sure. I really hope there is a work around or something I can push to it like I did with my Dev Phone and Mango.
hopefilly there is... did u try the usb enabler ?
Just tried it and no such luck
Thanks for the ideas thou!
hey ur welcome anytime ... sorry didnt work only solution i have ever heard of for forgetting password was a hard reset...

Is it possible to lock CWM and Download Mode?

Just wondering, is it possible to password lock CWM and Download Mode, so that a thief or anyone else who doesn't know the password cannot flash another rom?

Even if you could, there would always be a way around it, and if not, i doubt you'd see the phone again anyway. That is unless you have tracking software enabled, but if they know enough about android to know about the recovery and download mode, chances are they'd take the sim card out and go somewhere without gps coverage to give themselves time to get around that.
Bottom line, it would be pointless, if they wanted to get into it badly enough, they would

Hmm, I don't really care about seeing the phone again, what I want is for them to have a useless brick on their hands, so that stealing it would become pointless.
Have a look on vodafone.it, There are instructions on how to get your phone blocked when it is stolen.
The english language version can be found here: http://www.vodafone.it/engl/services/theft_loss.html

Yes, it's very sad. I worry a lot about the security of my personal info, data, pictures, etc.. Before using Android I have a BlackBerry 2 years before.. And, that it was hard until without first erasing ALL data and internal memory. In android it is not, the files like pictures, videos, docs.. remain despite a wipe in CWM!! and the lockscreen its gone like factory reset... that's unacceptable . I think that is the main reason Im gonna switch to the hated iphone 5 from an S3... that phone with Encryption+PIN its very tough to unlock, confirmed by a forensic expert. The S3 encryption its useless due to the android recovery and download...

Just to clarify, this is only if they are stored on the (internal/external) sdcard and are not wiped.

I know this is an old post but someone else might find it useful, Avast! Anti-Theft is an awesome tool as it support root installation, so you can do a through wipe of your sd card (premium feature) also if your phone is stolen, it can automatically take a pic n upload it, even if they do a factory reset, the app is still there.

Cerberus does the same, is cheaper and much more reliable.
It should be possible somehow, even doing some hardware mods like bridging some pins to avoid download mode, actually recovery is lockable

Forgot my Secure Folder password S10e

As I wanted to be more secure I set up a password for my secure folder . Luckily my mates turned up, we got a bit drunk , obviously by the morning I had no idea what is my new password.
Spent an hour with some guy from Samsung on the Tutor app , He couldn't help to go around or reset it.
Im using fingerprint for log in but after restart asking the first time password and this where I stuck.
I know my Samsung account password, Im using Samsung Pass if its help.
Samsung Galaxy S10e

Phone status : Official
If there is a way to save the data from there would help already or if you guys can direct me how to reset the password.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Many times these secure folders are very secure. For something like my ancient Casio BOSS there's no way to bypass it short of brute force even after over 30 years.
I hope you backed up that data... and you should as it's always one drop, one near lightning strike, etc away from oblivion.
I set no password on PC bios, backup data drives or my devices because of losing accessibility or the data entirely. If the set password becomes corrupted (I've had it happen) you'll lose access... maybe permanently. It's not just forgetting it that can become a problem.
You right there, thanks. Eventually I will find my password , hopefully just the 30 second wait between trying them a bit killing.. )

Samsung S10+ Hacked by soon to be ex-wife

I need help. Phone has been hacked by my ex. All my conversations are being recorded 24hrs a day if in range of my phones microphone. Don't know how to stop it. Tried all avenues of help through work and carrier with no help provided. Appreciate any advice on what to try. Thanks.
sounds like your wife is the one getting scammed by paying someone for free apps
What I have seen though from the free apps is you can turn a mic on, find location, and take pictures. I haven't seen an app that can record everything you say within phone range 24 hrs a day. Plus after all the times I have reset my phone I have never restored it from a backup so I don't know how a free app could be on my phone.
That's way too much drama info that means nothing... I got a headache skim reading it
Change your Google account password on a secure PC.
Have the phone(s) firmware reflashed.
Be careful what you load.
Do whatever is needed to secure your PCs and data. Don't use either until proven clean.
Use only Gmail for email service and download only from trusted sources. If not sure, don't download it!
This isn't rocket science.
Thanks for the reply. Sorry, you are right, I did get carried away with my post. Just extremely frustrated after months of dealing with this issue. The only thing I haven't tried is re-flashing firmware. Thanks for the advice. I will try that.
im no laywer nor am i pretending to be
destory all her eletronics so she cant spy on your ****
so you just do a factory reset ? in stock recovery or in twrp how are you wiping ?? well theres not much you can do if your wife has phsycal access to your phone and this app is probably a system app or something so it doesent go away and if you constantly wipe your phone you cant do much
you can encrypt / passcode it but that can be bypassed with a factory reset
you should flash stock recovery
but devices seince android 5.0 lolipop have a frp lock you can ensure that a frp lock means when you do a factroy reset you have to do a google sign in for the first time only the first time tho
i would just divorce and leave her and XXXXX

but this is a tech forum not a relationship advice
also you should not trust your pc either you should reinstall windows and use a ubuntu cd /dvd/usb/whatever storage media like usb hdd/ssd whatever

can you see an option to disable sensors in developer option if you dont see dev option go about phone software info hit build number 7 times
go to dev option quick setting developer tile click sensors off then when you slide down you will see a option to disable sensors but it also means that things like camera will not work
cameras, microphone, accelerometer, gyroscope, and more will be disabled
do you see a icon in app menu in settings like supersu or magisk or superuser or and suspicious apps
eg an app with no name and no icon try deleteing or disable thoes apps and unroot in magisk or supersu or superuser try installing a root checker as well (the one from joeykrim)
make sure that there no root access go to system status in about phone does it say offical or custom
(custom bad )
boot into download mode (look up how to on your device)
is the flash counter anything but 0
is knox warrenty status 0x0 or 0x1
(0x1 bad)
(flash counter 1 or higher bad)
reflash stock firmware download on your computer boot into download mode use odin and flash
(google for more in depth and links)
have you rooted the device yourself?
infact that mic virus u got wouldent need root perms better safe than sorry

Yeah if malware is present it could override permissions. You need to start over with a clean load.
Reflashing the firmware guarentees this; no rootkit can survive that.

Phone has not been rooted. Knox status is still zero (just rechecked). I did turn off all sensors for awhile, but that got annoying. I went through all apps and did not see any suspicious apps. Used multiple apps to look for spyware with none found. When all this started my s9 went missing. Is there anyway that the phone can be cloned to another phone? She does have a friend who is a software engineer with background in apple and android os that from hearsay got caught doing the same thing to his exwife. That is why I am more interested in a way in finding how it is being done and catching them since in Texas it is illegal to record conversations as a 3rd party. I don't really care if she listens to me. Mostly it is me in my truck driving singing poorly. It is more of the how it is being done that is frustrating me. She told me once they got me by me clicking a link on facebook that was sent to me and I guess I didn't think twice about clicking it. I am usually really cautious about things like that, but I more conputer literate then phone apps literate I've learned my lesson now I guess. I will try reflashing firmware. Would rooting and flashing a diffrent ROM help do you think? Thanks for the feedback.
Get off FB... it's malware.
Reflash to the stock rom unless you don't like it. Go with the latest Android version for it if you want the most security.
Lol, you should know better by now to trust anything she says... let her eat silence.
