Wireless Earphones Battery Percentage - HTC U11 Questions & Answers

Hi all, i have gotten a kickstarter wireless bluetooth earpiece EOZ Air but when i connect to it, our bluetooth page does not show the battery % while other phones like samsung, Oneplus all shows it. Does anyone knows how can i enable it and see my actual earpiece battery %?
Edit: another quick question, how do i check what Bluetooth firmware am i on? I am on 8.0.0 so i assume i have BT 5.0? but where do i check and confirm this?

If I am not mistaken, the Bluetooth battery indicator was introduced with 8.1
The Bluetooth 5.0 was enabled with an update. I think that was the previous to Oreo.

Yup, saw it and tried a bit. But delete it as it can get quite irritating when it disconnects my device to just find out the battery %. I will just be patient and hope for the best then

Nougat update is out. Find any differences?

I saw myself 3 mobiles getting an update today.
I've updated my phone today as soon as I received the notification.
Details about update -Android version 7.0, Build: NPJ25.93-11.
List of BIG changes that I observed:
1. Boot animation - It is completely revamped and now says "Hello Moto" with an iconic voice every time you boot up the phone. Just found out that it can be turned off in Settings>Sounds.
2. Internal memory pumped up - This is a big surprise for me. My available free memory was 7.3 GB before the update and now it is 8.22 GB. It is a very good thing.
3. Battery backup seems to be improved. This is my one day observation and still needs more observation of course.
4. A special Moto action is added called Swipe to shrink screen. (meh!)
5. Fingerprint sensor can now lock the device. Power button is safe forever. Unregistered fingers can also put phone to sleep.
6. Toggle WiFi, BT, Data etc. in one tap if you pull down notification bar once else if you pull down twice you get to choose from a list of devices.
7. Device temperature is now nominal while charging.
8. I don't see network related settings like 2G, 3G, 4G selection per SIM. It is all grayed out. I think it will choose the n/w on its own.
All other N features (split screen, notification in-line-reply, better recent apps preview, etc) are known. So there is nothing special to say about that.
Cons inherited from Marshmallow:
*** Hidden LED is still kept hidden. What a waste!
*** Although device is locked you can still swipe down notification bar and toggle all the important and sensitive controls like WiFi, Location, Bluetooth, Data, Airplane mode. This is really an insecure feature.
I'll keep updating this as I go on finding something new.
Other changes are mentioned in changelog on Moto website.
P.s: Go for the update.
How many treads about this?
This update is the same like the one already published on Dec 11 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/captured-ota-nougat-ota-moto-g4-plus-t3517059
BTW: No root for it (as of now).

No. Nothing. I'm running at the highest resolution possible.
I have flashed my moto g4 plus with official soak test nougat. But I didn't receive any notification for official nougat. Will I get a notification or will I have to flash it manually using official nougat update?

You should get the update according to sources. Maybe you will have to wait for a while.
Well if you don't get it you can always downgrade to 6.0 to start over.

Bluetooth battery indicator not showing

Is Bluetooth battery indication working for anyone on the U11+?
This works on my Pixel XL (Oreo) and Huawei MediaPad M3 tablet (Nougat).
Thoughts?

Bummer. This is strange and I wonder why HTC would not activate this?
Thanks for the response.

I imagine it won't be there until HTC pushes 8.1 to the phone. As to why? I don't know. They also one of the few manufacturers who still let incoming phone calls take up the entire screen, when everyone else lets you use the phone whilst incoming call is happening, so who knows.

update to latest version

Hi, bought a gear s3 a few days ago and will recieve soon, after looking for a bit on the forums i had to ask if i should update to the latest tizen os version when i recieve it, but sounds like the battery issues are a big problem and i dont want to mess up my new watch, so is it worth it to update or just skip and wait for a new version to roll out in the near future? Thanks
Wait for a real fix

Hmmm nice battery life... Remotely connected is when your out of bluetooth range and your gear connects to wifi. Youd still be able to recieve messages. Handy if your charging your phone, when your in the gym and have to leave your phone in the locker and connected to the wifi, etc....
Will move again to version 2.3 coz its not working for me using 2cqk3 and 2cql1.
Will just wait for samsung to fix it in their next update

Android Pie - Notifications only come through Bluetooth device

Noticed with the Pie update, that if you're using a bluetooth device, the notifications only come through that. No longer comes through phone as well.
I need my earbuds to be paired and connected for most the time, but cannot have them in ears at all times. I only noticed after my wife called me to make sure I was ok as I hadn't been responding to numerous relatively important texts. Wasn't replying because I hadn't heard the notifications. . . . because my earbuds weren't in my ear.
Have there been any solutions to this thing. This is really bad and obnoxious.

All audio, ringer and notification sounds are redirected to headphone/ear-bud/earpiece when they are connected, it's a hardware feature that is built into the hardware, it can't do both.
Either leave the ear buds in or train yourself to disconnect them when not using them.

Nope!
It worked fine before android 9 update

I've never had a device that could do this.
If it could do this before the update, the feature is probably still there, the settings for it may be in a different place or has a different nomenclature.

It definitely worked before. I've been going crazy since February, trying to figure out how to get the sound to play through the phone while a Bluetooth device is connected.

Question A53 October Patch

Does the A53 october security Patch have bugs?
Only one way to truly find out lol. Im very hesitant to install the A53 October security patch. Been searching forums for bugs information too.
I took the plunge and installed a53 October security patch on my Taiwan edition using tmobile service. Phone calls work on 5g or 4g. Thank goodness. Text messages too. I know their is more stuff to wonder about. those 2 for me are the most important functions for my usage.
I didn't find any bugs
How to locate and install this patch? I am in the USA and the last update is from September.
Just wait patiently for the october patch
Cause there are no differences
No bugs
