Anyone know where I can get extra loca adhesive to re-apply my dome glass?
I saw a few on amazon but wasn't entirely sure with the viscosity levels.

I would contact the company.
They have a lifetime warranty.

about those... I see theres a bunch of "generic" whitestone dome on ebay for under $15. What's up with those? Will they perform similarly?

I bought one but have yet to install it. I have a spare whitestone when my current gets bad. Warranty replacements are only $10, so no need to buy a generic.

It’s the exact same protector.. Whitestone Dome is selling them under the Whitestone Dome brand that's why they are charging 50+ bucks...
The 15 buck protector is well worth the price as you can save a fair few buck purchasing the non-branded one.
There's no difference between them see pics!

Liquid optical cured adhesive. No one calls it loca in the industry. It's UV Adhesive. Comes in gel or liquid.
Stuff used for the Whitestone is not even optical quality. It's your bottom of the barrel liquid uv adhesive. I don't testing on this and I'm in the process of evaluating some quality adhesives. I already proved how bad the oem adhesive is, how it's not an optical quality adhesive "hope they are not paying for optical quality because it's not" and shown it simply does not fully cure. This is why it has delamination issues. It's junk every kit being sold uses this same junk adhesive. Proper optical adhesive runs around $20 "price my company gets it in bulk". That amount will do one screen.
In a few days I'll have my final results. I got one adheasive that holds stronger, removes without damage to the protector or screen. Need to look at a few others and look at some gels. A gel will give a bit more impact protection. Slow process because it's the end of the year here and we are pushing to meet final deadlines.
But unlike Whitestone and the others. I'm doing research. I work with fiberoptics so I use this stuff every day. But there are countless types. From the sub $1 tubes of junk Whitestone gives you that's not even optical quality. To stuff that $400 a tube that's 100% optically clear. You can not see the adhesive when cured. But typically around $20-$30 a tube for preformance optical adhesive.
Issues with the adhesive is it does not fully cure. It stays in a what we call green state. Not cured but not wet. Sticky and soft. A corner lifts a little it streaches and delaminates from the glass and screen and you get a spider weed effect. This can not be fixed. A normal adhesive just press down and good to go. But because this stuff is bad from the get go. I'm extremely disappointed with Whitestone. Service is good but the product is absolutely trash. From the thinness and worst olophobic coating I have ever seen. To the cheapest uv adheasive money can't buy. Even the stickers leave residue unlike ones from zag. The clothe they give you is not optical quality either. Very poor and that because no one has reviewed the kit. They make videos on installing it and say it's the best thing ever. Well I put it under a high power microscope, I did test with the stuff so to date I'm the only person who has reviewed this product. And it's not good. You know what I use? A Zagg glass with the adhesive stripped and removed off it and some Dynamax optical adhesive. Zero issues. Great oleophobic coating and I love it.
But I should be done mid week with a few adhesives and part numbers for those who wanna quality product. I'll also post all my test results and I even went as fast as to do sheer test with them. Whitestone's oem was dead last in glass to glass bonding strength. Sample 274g caused it to fail the cheapest stuff we have here was 418g before it failed. But keep in mind I have a full time job and I'm working 14 hour days untill the end of the year so I don't have much free time but I am working on this.
Also anyone in the metro Atlanta area wanna have one installed right let me know I'll put it on for you. You can come in and have it put on in a clean room. That's where I do mine. Nitrogen to blow stuff off is filtered to .04um. one of the joys of working here. There is not a single spec of dust under my screen protector.

Please keep us posted with your findings. I have done plenty of research on this as well and seems like no one has a very good answer on this.
Ive been using loca 2500 in the meantime but as you know the spreading process takes a while.

I would not use that stuff. Rule of thumb if it doesn't have a manufacturer name and part number then it's stuff that did not pass qc to be sold to oem's. That's why most of this crap dose not cure because in the mixing they got a mesurement wrong and instead of selling it they just move it in bulk to some resellers or put it on Alibaba.
If Loca is on the page it's trash don't use it. Anything referred to and being sold as Loca is of the lowest quality. Remember this crap has no qc you might get a batch that is totally off and destroys your phones display.
This is some high-end stuff I just threw away. All new sealed but we were cleaning up an area and found a stock k pile of this. Still works just we don't use anything expired so it goes in the trash.
Did we ever get an update on his texting of glue?

Hey man, can you please recommend some non-crap optical adhesive that's available to purchase by us normal folk?
I installed one of the ebay gel / glue ones on my phone after trying the zagg and both of the Bodyguardz screen protector. The zagg had the dots on the screen which I couldn't stand and the bodyguardz #1 would fall off and the second showed black lines around d the edges.
I also tried the amor shield we application one but it left the screen looking anti glare and hazy. The gel / glue application one has been the best I have tried. The only slight difference I may see is the screen is a just ever so slightly darker. I will have to do some more testing to confirm.

So after reading a bit on lots of different threads here and many other boards, I decided to pick up a couple of the LUVVITT Tempered Glass screen protectors.
I ordered from Amazon and got them for $10 each and free shipping (Prime)
I gotta say, it was the easiest install I have ever done. I started off with the hinge method but I used painters tape and it fell off and I just lined everything up and pushed down in the middle and watched the self adhesive. It went on VERY easy. I did this in a kitchen, (not in the bathroom with hot shower on for the steam) and I didn't get a single piece of lint on either of the installs.
Mine were cut essentially perfect. Cut outs were right on and everything went together pretty much perfectly. As a note, there were a few tiny bubbles in certain areas. I thought at first it was dust but pushed lightly down and it would disappear. Over the next 24 hours they vanished and the protector is now smooth as glass.
I do notice that it does seem to get smudges and some fingerprints, but with a quick swipe of a microfiber cloth (included) or an Oakley glass bag (which I always have on me) they disappear.
This really is a great buy over the glass that costs 2-3 times a much. I recommend this product if you are looking for a screen protector and want more but don't want to pay $30 for it. This is pretty dang good, as good as the ZAGG that is on my buddies phone. We compared them and you cant tell the difference at all.

Appreciate the input, I was thinking about picking this up. I know mime ghost are top of the line but also don't want to spend a fortune on a screen protector. Will pick this up
Isn't 9H hardness a little bit too high ? i mean yeah it's gonna be very scratch resistant but it will break very easily too...
How easy/obstructive is the home button cutout? I am curious if you can use the fingerprint sensor without any issue.

Thanks for your input. I just ordered mine, and it should be here within the next couple hours. I will be installing and I will do give my opinion on it also. I recently had the ZAGG glass on my HTC ONE M8, and it was absolute amazing. Only gripe with the ZAGG was the cost....which was around 43$, but luckily I was able to get my money back.

Not sure why you would want it to be less hard? Understand, the glass is so thin, it almost looks like plastic.

I use my fingerprint scanner everyday, it doesn't interfere at all. The scanner itself isn't the best, but it works the same with our without the protector.

You will like it. Now that I have used it for a a while I forget its even there. Putting a care on it didn't hurt it either, the rounded corners do the trick.

The harder it is the easier it breaks, from tension or from shock.
But, hardness gives resistance to scratches, because any material would need to have the same or a higher hardness to be able to scratch it.
So it depends on what you want, gorilla glass has a hardness of 7, it means that the only the things with a higher number will be able to scratch it.
When you take a look at gorilla glass, it breaks very easily, the perfect hardness for a glass protector should be a little higher than 7.
That way in case of shock the glass protector, having a little higher hardness, will dampen the shock by breaking before the glass.

Interesting, I have not ever thought that much about it. This type of glass bends, its almost scratch proof and its shatter proof. If you drop your phone with it on, it will shatter and leave your digitizer unharmed. The hardness rating has more to do with the scratching, etc. You wont find a glass protector with under 9H and its way better than having a normal screen protector as it prevents your screen from shattering.

The only glass protecter i ever had was a 5 hardness and it could barely bend, it was just like glass they shiped it in a armored box lol ( just kiddin ) so it wouldn't break during shipping.
Well if we all agreed, then life wouldn't be very interesting.
Thanks for this. I bought an Iloome for 25$ for my S4 and I thought that was a tad high... Especially since I broke it a month in. But it was my fault. 10$ is way more palatable.

How good is sigen glass screen protector?
http://www.spigen.com/brands/samsung/galaxy/galaxy-s5.html
They seem to very hard to be scratch proof. Do they prevent damage of screens from falling? If not, I probably will choose a cheaper one because I never put keys or coins along with my phones. Is there any other paricular good points of glass screen protectors?

i just ordered mine yesterday i will let you know..hopefully it works amazing
If it's at least equal to the one of the s4 I can say it's the best glass screen protector I came across. And yes it protects even on the little falls. Because it protect mine when I left fall down from my hand it wasn't a big fall but when I lift the phone up the screen protector had a crack and the original phone screen had absolutely nothing
Great to hear that. Will order one.
I currently have the Zagg one on mine, it works very nicely. Throw it in my motorcycle jacket pocket all the time without worrying about scratching the actual screen, especially since it has a lifetime warranty and I can just get a replacement if it scratches up too badly.
I'm sure the Spigen ones are similar.
Great to hear that, will get one.
I am currently using the Luvvitt and I have nothing but stellar remarks for it. It's cheap, and it works flawlessly. My first one had a microscopic nick in the top right edge that was preventing the screen protector from adhering on that edge. I let them know last Friday and SUNDAY the mailman hand delivered me a new one.. Not even sure how all of that happened but yeah, great customer service to boot.
tech armor
i got the tech armor ultraclear ballistic glass and have to say this is a pretty nice investment. It's $20 from amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IGISUTG/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and its crystal clear, easy to put on, and so far seems to be pretty rock solid. i havent thrown it down a gravel road or anything, but i am pretty impressed by how clear it is, how smooth it feels, and the time it took to install, which was about 5 minutes, followed by smoothing out one 'line' across the middle that looked like a crease or something, but went away by pushing it with my finger.
5 stars for this product.

:good: Gotta back you up on that one. Bought one and it's fantastic.
So I bought the GLAS.tr Nano the day it came out and was really excited about it. Unfortunately I was the first negative review on Amazon for the product. I got in contact with the company and it seems as though there was a batch that had issues with the tack used to stick it to the screen. Mine had several areas where it would just never stick along the edges and a huge area near the bottom that had no stick to it. I informed them and they promptly sent me a replacement. The replacement is perfect in every way and I couldn't be happier.
That said, I ordered the top rated glass protector with rounded edges on Amazon that was something like $12 for my girlfriend while I was having the issues with Spigen. Honestly the quality is almost identical for 1/3 the cost. If I had it to do over I would not have gone with the Spigen protector and gotten two of the cheaper options.
I did change my review to four stars but did not go with a full five due to it being over priced compared to the competition.

i have the same....works great....fit well...and super cheap to boot compared to the spigen:good:
I had the Spigen GlastR Nano on the S5 but had a speck of stuff under the screen. Pulled it off and installed the Zagg Glass and damn if I did not get another tiny speck under the Zagg also.
The Spigen is a nice glass but I like the Zagg a little better. Thinner, softer edges, easy tags for the install and it just feels plain nice.
MIME Feather Glass is what I ended up getting. Part of my decision was that I planned on getting my T-Mobile SGS5 from Delaware to avoid sales tax and I needed to have the screen protector (wanted to try glass for the first time too) by the time I had it too. I live in NJ and MIME is made in New York, so the quick shipping (free anyway but quick since we're neighbors) made it a good decision for me...
And I couldn't be ANY HAPPIER with my decision. It's so thin that I can barely feel it's there. I know if I went any thicker, I wouldn't like the feeling of going over the home button. The fit is beyond perfect and I don't have any scratches on it AT ALL yet. Keep in mind I go to the gym a lot and my pockets have zippers and I'm sure I'm constantly rubbing up against them when I take it out and put it in (that's what she said). No scratches at all. Responsiveness is completely unhindered.
I would highly recommend it...
---------------------------
Also, a little tip (regardless of brand I suppose, but the "purple film", basically a screen sized film with a very very light adhesive for "anti-dust preinstallation film" MIME gave actually came in VERY HANDY for me...) for the install!
credits to BillTheCat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015394
okay, the only advice I really took here was to go into the bathroom at home (low dust environment!) and run the hot water in the shower for a bit (steam it up, even less dust).
at that point, I wiped my screen of course, then I just took the protector, handled it from the sides to make sure I got no oil on the adhesive side, and lined it up just right (worked for me, maybe you might want to try the tape method, but it may be difficult with glass protectors) and laid it down (bottom first to line up the home button perfectly). i ended up with 2 pieces of dust towards the top. damn it.
then the purple film came in damn handy. i very carefully (with my fingernails, but being careful not to actually touch under the glass and get marks on it) lifted up the glass and peeled it back just enough to get "purple film" underneath and "grab" the dust particles off of the screen. i was afraid it may leave marks or residue, but it didn't at all. not sure how painter's tape would work in this case, but I'm proud to say that I have a 100% dust free, mark free, PERFECT installation. =DDDD
then again, I have some patience and a fairly steady hand, so this may or may not work for you. I used to make money back in middle school changing out LED's on Nokia 5100's, 6100's, 8200's series... ah the old days haha. that required some steady hands. i still have my 8260 that i converted to the 8860 and soldered on the slide pin that made the sliding cover active. removing and rotating the polarized LCD films to invert the screens.. anyone remember all4cell? man i feel old now.
wow, now i'm thinking about the old TDMA networks and how much i hated GSM phones cause you couldn't change the carrier tags (on Nokias). i guess if it was still like back then, the T-Mobile Galaxy S5 threads would be the VoiceStream Galaxy S5 threads MIRITE??!
biggest advice though: go to the bathroom, steam it up (not too much)! that alone helps with the dusty environment, i thought that was very very good advice.
I got this with US$25 and working fine

It's the LUVVITT brand. Maybe it's a little thicker than the Spigen, but honestly it's barely noticeable. Especially when you factor in the little ridge along the screen of the S5.

That's good to know as I shop around for glass screen protector. Thanks!
I just got it in the mail today. Had to put it on right away. Extra smoothness! I've had the Spigen Glas series since the S4
I went cheap and got this http://www.ebay.com/itm/151282778240?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Works like a charm, and for $6 you can't really argue..why would I spend $20-$40 for a glass screen when this phone is already made with tough Gorilla glass? I also have this http://www.ebay.com/itm/351046202801?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 case, so it's not I'll ever break my screen now when dropping my phone..

In my experience the best part of the glass protectors is that they feel the best. For the longest time I bought the super cheap xtremeguardz protectors on slickdeals which were good for protection but felt too tacky and got really dirty. Same with the free protector that came with spigen case for my Nexus 5. The glass ones feel like you don't have a screen protector on, shed minor damage readily, and provides the best extreme impact protection (at the cost of its own life though).
The biggest drawback is that they can chip if you drop them on cement... depends on the person, I know people who go an entire year with no screen protector, and I know others who drop their phones on pavement regularly. I recently reviewed the Movaluate 7 protector (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2744597) which has served me well so far.
I'm very OCD when it comes to my phones, I think anyone who'd join XDA probably is, but over my life as a musician & recording enthusiast I've learned that pampering & protecting my gear/kit/tech, etc. yields big dividends: longer life, higher resale value, better obsolescence rejection, etc.
On my smartphone I like a heavy duty case, cause I drop my phone more than I'd like to admit. Not from 6 feet on concrete drops, but plenty of sitting on the couch/edge of bed drowsy drops to the carpet below. I want a stout case also because it makes these increasingly paper thin devices easier to handle. After hunting one down I bought the Encased Rebel, which is basically a very good OtterBox clone, and for the screen protector, after buying several through trial and error, the GPEL Note 9 glass protector is working very well.
The hard part in using a really stout case with Samsung's curved screened phones is that after getting one with a raised lip around the screen (a feature you want), most glass screen protectors don't provide enough clearance to avoid rubbing against the raised lip of the case, causing it to peel off and eventually drop off. The GPEL protector, labeled case friendly, has a few millimeters taken away from the edge of the protector that allows the case to rest besides it with no contact.
I'm adding some pictures I posted in my Amazon reviews of these two products that show a bit of what I'm trying to describe, sorry they're not pro level by far. But for under $30 you can get a very good heavy-duty case & a screen protector that is performing great; no need for the increased sensitivity feature to be turned on & no separation or bubbles anywhere. Since there's no adhesive on the main center glass, just on the edges, in some light a slight rainbow effect can be seen, but it's nothing that interferes with the screens quality during normal viewing.
Just offering this duo as a suggestion, for when I got my Note 9 I wish there were a few more real world use descriptions about which heavy duty case worked well with what screen protector. Be cool...

Think I'm gonna get one of those screen protectors and see how it works with some optical adheasive.
Just wasted $53.00 on the ZAGG Elite (full adhesive) for the Note 9. This thing cracked just using the included squeegee trying to get the massive amount of bubbles out. Now, I have the pay ZAGG $9.99 just to ship me a replacement.
Might order the G-Pel and give it a try while waiting on ZAGG to send my replacement.

Fuhhh...Well, let me put over GPEL here like I did in my Amazon review, I just didn't want to come off as some shill. When I first ordered the Note 9 glass protector from GPEL on Amazon it showed up in a rough looking package which, sure as sh#t, contained my 2 pack of protectors with a crack in one of them.
I emailed GPEL's customer support and within hours they emailed me a confirmation number of the replacement shipment. Really good customer service. I despise installing screen protectors: the plastic film type were hell with the air bubbles, the wet application protectors are such a hassle, worrying about stray dust, etc. The GPEL has this bracket that came with it that makes lining up the glass really t. The key is patience and having plenty of light. Good luck brother...
How bad are the oil slicks with this G-Pel?

I've noticed it really depends on lighting for some reason. In my kitchen with lots of high watt LCD floods I can see a bit of a rainbow/oil slick but with the screen on and the brightness even as low as 35% or full blast it's pretty much a no issue.
But in other lighting in my house & at times outdoors, I can't see any rainbow/slick whatsoever. So I don't know; to me the only time I notice it or it bugs me is when the screen is off.

I used one of those and I have a few notes on it.
-Adheasive is strong and super thick. Will add impact protection but being so this squeegeeing you have to be careful. Very easy to crack since the adhesive is so thick and soft.
- One the corner would not stick. Mesured it at work the top right corners adheasive was 50um thicker then the rest. This was from a bad batche. Replacement was fine.
-borderes cutinto the display. You will lose the very edge and have an annoying tiny thin line of light when you are in a dark room looking at it.
-soft adheasive when pressing on a corner you can see it ooze out. It returns to normal but this will collect dust at the edges. I'm
Really like to see that as a all clear glass and better guide on how to squeegee it. Mine did not break but I could feel flex. Requires a more gentle touch when doing this. And the time required to get the bubbles out is increased 5 fold because of this. But that soft adheasive add impact protection.

Thanks for this. This seems like a decent full adhesive protector though.
You got any tips to help me get the replacement on without cracking the thing?
I guess just be careful along the edges.
I had my first drop, from about 3 ft in the bathroom, on tile floor and it was fine. I HATE doing that, but no damage at all BUT...it looks like some dust worked it's way under the protector resting in the top middle, so must've jolted it enough for some dust to slip in. I dunno...
It's not the end of the world but goddamn, first world problems or not the whole screen protector gimmick is a pain in the a##! I know I keep hearing it from people I know " get the Dome" but I'm more worried about not installing it JUST so than the bread.
One other option I'm considering is a wrist strap. On some of the Ringke cases there is a hole pre made on the case, I guess if I kept using the Rebel I'd have to thread the lanyard deal through the SPen opening on that top lip area. I don't know...

I don't use screen protectors myself, but,if I were in the same situation & the end result was merely a damaged screen protector,I'd consider myself fortunate & chalk one up in the win column.
Should my daily usage dictate that rollin' with one would be a wise decision,I'd definitely consider it.
The screen protector did its job,it saved your display & saved you from a costly repair.
If you were otherwise pleased w/the screen protector,I'd just get another, the price is certainly much less than a display replacement. (Perhaps pair it up w/a case-friendly Otterbox)
The only other option I'd look for is a screen protector that has some sort of free replacement, provided you're not on the hook for any fees (shipping/etc..).
Any recommendations? :good:

Thx. This one I'm having also, but it has a huge problem. It somehow lights up the blacks on the display. With the display turned off also the black is whither that it should be.
But I must admit it fits perfectly.
That has terrible reviews for durability on Amazon. There is nothing good available it seems! I've resorted to a film protector as a last resort after getting a scratch while I waited for a good glass protector. [emoji2959]
I finally gave up and bought a Zagg InvisibleShield for $30. Hate paying that much, but it feels so much better than the film protectors.

This one is the best by far. It's the only one that's fully adhesive and it comes in a 3 pack. I know it goes against logic, but don't read the reviews. A lot of people counted it as a low ranking item because they couldn't get their sides to fully adhere. Just use a blow dryer. It will eventually stick down and its worth the extra work to have a fully adhesive glass.

You need to get glass screens that use UV light. Its the only way to get glass properly around the curved screen. Basically it's a glue and the UV light cures it. Look up WhiteStone Dome, they specialize in these, super popular on the Samsung's, only thing is they want $50-$70+ for one. It's robbery, cuz u can get the same dang thang for way less, TBH, the key is the glue, it dries crystal clear, unlike anything else. But you can use any tempered glass protector, make sure it's curved and clear, some have a dot matrix thing going on, you don't want that. The V50 screen is identical to the V40, so you can use what I've got. I've bought these twice, each time I ordered the 2 screens deal, it's cheaper and you'll have a backup. If you want to use your own glass, look up "loca glue." It's on the bay & Amazon, that's the same glue they use in the expensive stuff and in the link below. You'll wanna watch some vids before trying it yourself. Oh yeah and a UV light, I already had one, the one included in the kit should work I guess but I never tried it cuz I already one. Mines like a flashlight but with UV LEDs on it. You can check it out on same 2 places with the glue, it's cheap, $5-10, glue is about the same, depending on how much you want.
Love my glass screen though, you don't know even know it's there, at the same time, no need to be extra cautious about my screen anymore, I'll just slap another on if anything happens. There's a thread about this in the V40 forum if you wanna check out. Good luck

Does anyone still have a link for a good fitting glass screen protector ? Unfortunately, the links above no longer work.
I'm also looking for a screen protector, but I've been burned a few times by poorly fitting ones.
Generally the glass protector doesn't stick down at the sides, possibly due to the curvature?
Looking for any good protectors I can get in the UK.

Ahh sadly I can't find that in the UK. Heartbreaker!
The seller in Poland has 9 more.
I can buy for you, but you have to arrange transportation somehow. Maybe you have a Polish friend who would bring you from Poland when he will visiting his family? Then you wouldn't pay Duty and Tax ... BREXIT!

Personally, as I’ve written in other threads, I found the IMBZBK straightforward to install with an excellent result, including being able to turn off screen protector mode. I remained open-minded about the Whitestone Dome, which although somewhat more expensive has been around longer and has a premiere reputation.
I’ve now seen a YouTube comparison of both screen protectors, including their installation and the results, along with eight others. See here (they’re the 9th and 10th shown). YMMV, but to me the Whitestone installation seems much more difficult with more opportunities for something to go wrong. Does anyone here have personal experience with both?
If I'm not mistaken, I've used Whitestone back on my Pixel 2 XL way back when, but I too am using a IMBZBK screen protector(film). This new method for installing the screen protectors has easily became my favorite out of everytime I've ever applied one and I'm really glad all the makers of screen protectors seem to be adopting the same installation method.
As for the Whitestone, I understand reputation and all, but if something just works, I don't see the need in spending the extra cash but to each their own.
I too don't use screen protector mode on my device and the only time my fingerprint doesn't work is if it's oily, basically just not fully clean.
Since getting used to the MOCA glue method screen protectors starting with the Pixel 6 Pro, I'm hesitant to try anything other than Whitestone. I know I used one of these types of screen protectors before - might have been this brand, and I had a bubble I just could never get out - most other bubbles I got out, but there was one that was the bubble from hell. With the MOCA glue Whitestone Dome, I never even get a bubble to begin with. With a discount for the Whitestone Dome on the Pixel 7 Pro, it was ~$35 for a kit of two, one for my wife and one for me. I can handle that.
I'll probably stick with Whitestone until/if I ever have a bad experience.
But yes, to each their own, and what works for you is good.
Edit: I don't use screen protector mode, either. Fingerprint is still fast.

Respectfully, the point of comparing the Whitestone to the IMBZBK is that it, too, is a LOCA install, but easier and less open to error than the Whitestone (unless the YouTube video is misleading).

Whoops, LOCA, guess I wasn't as used to it as I thought. I was also working on home network earlier, hence MOCA.
My point was that my experience wasn't less open to error for me, but what's good for one person isn't necessarily what's good for all.
I think one difference between the Whitestone and IMBZBK may be the thickness of the glass. Whitestone used to say their glass was .33mm thick (about 3 yrs ago). although I can't find a recent statement on how thick it now is (think I saw somewhere that it was .26mm for the Pixel 6, but not sure). IMBZBK says theirs is .16mm thick.
I've done both the kits and in my particular case the IMBZBK had multiple issues. One of the screen protectors didn't have protective film on the back but they put the sticker on the back of the glass. I found the nubs or little colored clamps whatever they were in my case lifted the glass too high in one area so the adhesive didn't flow all the way. 2nd attempt there was a bubble in the same area to a lesser extent. I ended up cleaning the third one off and using the film to remove dust and just did it freehand no jig etc (which I've done multiple times before) and the application was perfect. I saw some users had similar issues to me and others had no problem at all with the install via their jig. So to me that shows there's a QC issue. That and them using their ratings from other products to give the p7p a high rating is kind of scummy imo.
Got the Whitestone and took off the IMBZBK and installed the Whitestone first time no issues with the kit at all. To me the glass feels better than the IMBZBK and the olephobic coat seems better as well. Plus not having to use a weight on the FP sensor (another possible point of failure) is a plus to me. Longterm we know Whitestone's adhesive will hold up and not lift and have webbing appear on the sides. Only time will tell how well the IMBZBK will hold up. Hopefully IMBZBK steps up their game and sorts out their QC issues and show they have a high quality long lasting product as competition is always a good thing.
My Whitestone arrives later today. The installation routine debate not withstanding I do see in the comparison video that the Whitestone is SHORTER in length than the IMBZBK. In other words there is more uncovered screen space above the selfie as well as at the bottom of the screen. I assume this is to mitigate any contact with a case that could cause the protector to lift up. So I guess it all depends on the case you are using as to how the protector looks after installation. I will be using a Spigen Rugged Armor which also arrives today so I will see how much of a gap is left between the Whitestone and the Spigen.
Installed my Whitestone. Fits perfectly. Using a Spigen Rugged Armor case and as usual it fits perfectly. The uncovered area above the selfie and at the bottom edge are as minimal as anyone could want using the Spigen case. I cannot speak to any other case(s) but I am pleased. The Whitestone installation was easy. Maybe not as "easy" as the olden days when you could just lay a FLAT 9H tempered glass screen protector on just about any phone...but easy nonetheless. I do encourage watching the installation video at least once to get the procedure in mind before starting.
I also appreciate the clear "tape" for the camera bump. Any protection against micro scratches is better than no protection. I figure if it gets boogered up over time I can just peel it off...no biggie!
Highly recommend both the Whitestone and the Spigen! YMMV
P.S. I did not have to redo any of my fingerprints! I also did not have to change the sensitivity setting for the fingerprints. So everything is good to go for me!
One more P.S. The Whitestone feels much smoother than even the original unprotected screen. Again YMMV.
Is there any discount codes for ordering Whitestone via Amazon?
In IMBZBK and Whitestone, it appears we have two first-rate, curved tempered glass screen protectors for the Pixel 7 Pro, both using LOCA and UV-curing. The main differences appear to be:
IMBZBK is $5, or 12.5%, less expensive than Whitestone.
Whitestone includes a more useful to some, because clear, rear camera protector. (I myself am not using the IMBZBK rear camera protector.)
IMBZBK includes three screen protectors; Whitestone only two. (For people seeking to protect more than one P7P, this can increase dramatically the cost-saving from using IMBZBK.)
Installing IMBZBK may be somewhat less prone to user error (based on my watching several YouTube videos; I have no personal experience with Whitestone).
Whitestone has a longer track record, which may provide greater confidence when considering spending c. 2.5-4 times more than on most (often less satisfactory) screen protectors.

Do you think either of these screen protectors will go on sale for black Friday?

I'm not ignoring you. I just don't know.
IMBZK is currently on sale at Amazon for $28 (20% off). I am returning my Skinomi protectors because the edges are lifting up. Bought the IMBZK. After the return credit, net cost was $20. Arrives in 1 day.

I'm with you. I love the process of installing Film Screen Protectors. I'm using a TOCOL protector, but have the same results with Screen Protector Mode off.
Jeez! That IMBZBK one is like a science experiment. lol
So, what happens to the adhesive when it's time to trade the phone in?
I'm using this LK screen protection. Used on S22U & now on my P7Pro.
Everthing works well including the fingerprint. It goes all the way to the curves of the screen

Usually there's hardly any trace of it. A quick wipe down and you're set to go.
First time using these glass protectors that require curing. The Whitestone kit looks like a science experiment, it was a bit intimidating when I saw all the parts. But I watched an installation video twice and got mine installed smoothly and flawlessly on the first go. They really made it pretty fool proof.
My gripe is while I prefer and like the clear camera bar protector, they had no labels so I had no way of telling which is the right side. That installation didn't go as well
My IMBZBK installation went terrible. First attempt there were bubbles. Second attempt, I worked to remove all the bubbles before curing. Still had some bubbles, but even worse the surface of the protector was sticky and streaky. Maybe some of the glue got on the surface while I was dapping the excess off.
Amazon Returns is sending me a replacement. While packing up the old kit, I noticed that the frame was broken/cracked.
Hopefully, the installation will go better with the replacement kit. I need to be extra careful getting rid of any bubbles and keeping any glue off of the top surface.
